You have very exciting plans.😊Could you apply one of the peel and clean products. You paint it on and leave for a few hours then peel off in sheets. You could then add sound insulation, inclu and cover with insulated plaster board so you still see the wooden beams. This is what we have in our 19th century converted barn.
In the garden door I would put a glass door behind and keep the original door also for the cold and heat. Nice plans! We are waiting for the process. ❤
Definitely the best solution. The original doors remain open during Spring/ Summer. The glass doors which are half wood, half glass remain locked but they let light in ,and keep..non invited guests out.
So excited for you, Sergi and Cheri I know you have not decided what to do with your ceilings in the bedrooms. Have you thought about putting insulation and plaster board between the beams just as the Pethericks did at their French Convent. It looks lovely with just the beams exposed and reduces the hard work of trying to clean all the wood. It does reduce the noise and also allows the heat to remain within that floor area. Also it stops the dirt from falling though the cracks from floor above. Good renovating for 2024
I’ve been watching and supporting you on Patreon since day one and I’m so excited for this year’s projects. As always, great job! You guys are rock stars! 🎉❤
Youve done such a wonderful job. I think you should make a curtain in front of the bathroom to try to keep the heat in the bathroom. Is there another bathroom in the house? 😊
Consider putting insulation and sheetrock in between the beams, it will be good for heat and sound, and you would still have the beams. You can also insulate and cover the whole ceiling and add molding and decorative accents.
Happy New Year 🎉 Why not dream Big it’s free 😁 Love your plans for 2024. So far the ceilings looking good. Love the idea of a stained glass door for the bathroom and more light in the hallway. I like your ideas for all projects cant wait to see
Isn’t there an upper cantina across from your bedroom? Is that the room we need to guess? I have learned that your judgement is so good that I would never second guess you. You have the best grasp on how much something will cost in elbow grease and time. So, you decide about your ceilings!!!!
Compromise on the salon, put plaster board between the beams. The reduces at least 75% of the work and you get the rustic beams to look at. Looking forward to your progress
Thankyou for sharing your plans for the new year alla and sergie. You have done so well with what you have done . i love your vision for your kitchen, I know france antiques would have wooden large pieces that you showed us in kitchen ideas. But that would be a problem sourcing that i dont know if italian antiques places have them and at what price. Your front door is lovley just needs a bit of tender loving care of which you have an abundance of alla. i think the glass idea is key for the light factor . you mentioned double glazed glass. I had a front door (modern upvc door) and rather than have plane glass panels in the top section i got decorative glass panels made . with colurs in the design. i think both panels cost me around £300 ( kist under 300 euros back in around 2012) i hade to get a new door last year as the sill frame at the bottom of door frame has cracked with tread over the 11 years and when i had a new door i asked if they could remove the 2 decorative panels as they were pretty. i have kept them / What i am getting at is if you contact local double glaze companies they may be able to make you to glass door panels and if you didnt want glass with colurs in the design their are some beautiful designs the trouble is i dont know what they would cost i italy. Also you can get etched glass which may be an option for your bathroom as the etched glass can have some beautiful design's. You can also have the option to design your own stained glass panel for the sealed double glased unit but i think that may be more expensive , Maybe locally you could find a way of advertising in your local area what you are looking for re stained glass and the wooden unit and maybe locals could contact you if they see or find anything like what you are hoping for.
Alla, at the end of this video lousy that you hope that your viewers like your plans for 2024. Well, I love your plans and so look forward to each day and the progress received. Looking back at 2023, you and Sergi lived much of the year in a different village and much of your time was spent just on the road or train going back and forth from your apartment to Oro. You will have so much more time with the interruption of the traveling to accomplish your goals. Good luck! It is going to be a great year.
For the salon, put up a thinly insulated plasterboard between the beams, that way you'll have the effect of beams yet gain some insulation and reduce the level of stripping the paint off the ceiling!!!! you could paint designs onto the beams like a French Chateau!!!!
Alla, you and Sergei have achieved so very much this year through continual hard work and artistic vision! You must never have time to sleep. For your front doors, do you have room to put glass doors on the outside of the current wooden ones so you can open the wood doors and see out? In the US, we usually have storm doors that are outside the regular door. Can you afford to have someone come in and sandblast all your ceilings at once? If not, if you can scrap some of the loose paint off the beams, maybe you could paint them white.
You are a charming presenter, Alla. I think your projects so so interesting and I know how beautiful you two will make them. I've been watching from the very beginning and I am in awe of your creativity and willingness to do the hard work. Happy 2024.
I cant wait to watch all your plans come together this year, sounds fab, and you both have worked so hard to get where you are with the house and garden, you should be very proud.
For the salon I would suggest plastering in between the beams so Sergei could have some beams and it would be less work Restoring all of them. Also I think it would be better to put some plastic barrier in between the new wall you are building in the laundry to keep moisture out. I look forward to all the new plans you have.❤
Is there a bathroom on the 1st floor? Will there be a studio for you somewhere? I think the beamed ceilings you have already finished are so impressive and add to the spacious feeling. I think you will regret it if you put a ceiling up, especially since there will be daily reference to the beamed rooms. Is there any possibility of hiring them done--keeping in mind the fact that time also equals money
I'm so happy for you both. This year is going to be exciting. Your ideas are beautiful. Can't wait for the kitchen to be finished. And your garden is very gorgeous. ❤❤❤ hugs and kisses to Cherie. ❤😊❤
I have no doublt that you can and will complete the next projects beautifully! ❤️ You have a very good eye for finding treasures in thrift stores. Keep that fabric bagged and clean, its going yo be great wherever you put it.❤
You guys were suggested and I’m so glad I found you! For that amazing exterior door-Definitely save it and add glass! First floor room upstairs, I would suggest sanding and medium to dark stain…I can’t believe the garden! Wow! Just amazing since the day you got the keys!! Brilliant!
I cant wait to see all of the future changes to the house for 2024. It's going to lots of fun to see what coming. In regards to the ceiling in the salon you could keep the beans and cover the wood in-between with drywall or plaster. Then you could clean or strip the beams back to the natural wood. Whatever you do I'm sure it will be fantastic. You have done so much in the last year and I am sure you will as much or more this year. Congratulations to all of your hard work. Cheers and Happy New Year to you all.
You have accomplished so so much this past year, I see no reason why you should not manage to get the first floor finished. You are more experienced now so it should... go faster. I would consider covering one of the ceilings at least. you could then insulate it, which would make it cozier in the winter. Your image for the laundry room looks beautiful too. & then the garden will look great in the spring. Can't wait to see it. Especially since spring is earlier where you are than here, in southern Quebec.
Lovely Alla - wonderful 2024 update thanks.. and, being reminded of the Patreon video's I've watched makes me appreciate the money spent on being a part of your Patreon community. Well done on the sharing - you and Sergi work very hard to film and edit to get these out all of the time. Kudos
What you plan for 2024 is so exciting. Can’t wait for each chapter to see you working. I’m as excited as you are!! On you doors why can’t you create and do your own stain glass. 12:2012:25
When we have more things than just the washer/dryer in the room, we call it a utility room. Have you and Sergi ever talked about building stairs from the garden up to the street so you don't have to carry garden clippings, stones, plants etc through the house?
I just have some questions about insulation and plasterboard. Walls would be insulated and it would be easier to put Electrics and anything else you want to add. If you put the insulation in between the beams you would not lose any height. You would also find it easier to paint you're beautiful walls
Another busy year ahead!😊Renovations are looking fabulous...creating a beautiful home! Regarding the ceilings upstairs, if you cover them in plaster board you will loose height in the rooms. Aesthetically, the ceiling height needs to be consistent throughout. Whatever you choose (plasterboard or to restore the ceilings), should be replicated throughout your home. Plastering in between the beams is an option (best of both) and allow you to insulate between the floors for heating and sound. Restoring the ceilings as they are, would be the best option though. This might be one of those jobs that needs a professional i.e. sandblast the ceilings. Time is also money...and would save you backbreaking work.
Great to have goals for the year ahead. You look so happy and enthusiastic, especially when you don’t have to travel after renovating each day. I’m sure Sergi will be happy with the outdoor grill idea! Love the colour idea for his study as well. All sounds exciting and I look forward to seeing your plans.
❤❤❤lam blow away with your ideas, I now you two will do it great. The mantel is beautiful ❤❤ and the idea for Sergi studio is soo elegant. The room is where the wine is? I think, but have some bricks or rocks. ❤❤
Can’t see that fabric in that guestroom. Find it a bit to gloomy for my taste and it does not go with the vibe of the other rooms. Love the botanical idea you shared on Patreon.
Are you starting on the Cantina maybe ? So so excited to see what you’ll do next ! Everything is looking so beautiful already ❤❤❤ I can’t believe how much you two have accomplished already !
Wow!!!! so many different priorities, and they all have to be done by Christmas 2024? now that is a challenge. I think you omitted to talk about the "cave" or cellar...... or was that intentional?
Ala, The fabric you found is so dark and heavy for a guest room. The light theme of the painting on the walls you did does not match the feeling I thought you were going for. You have time to find the right fabrics. So, think of the house as a whole! Thanks for sharing
Very interesting video, loved the tour and your inspirations of projects to come. What floor is your bedroom on? Wow you’ve done so much already to your beautiful villa.
Exciting new year of projects! The only area on the ground floor that you haven’t addressed is the “basement” area. I can’t remember what you call it. Cellar? ❤️😊
I think your idea about dove house is correct. It's a weird room with some tiny square nests? build right in the wall and just dust around - it was some wood there and spare tiles for the roof. So it's just another attic space.
I have no doubt the two of you will get a lot done in 2024!! You have accomplished so much, and it shows in your beautiful home❣❣
Baking soda used to clean the beams and put plaster board in between. Look at Chateau de Cavaliers. They are doing beams too.
С новым годом! Здоровья и благополучия!
Thanks Alla. Lots of lovely plans and you have achieved so much already🎉❤
Love your enthusiasm Alla. Keep up the good work❤

We call them storm doors. They go on outside of original doors. Great plans.
Double doors .keep the wooden door .for safety and keeping heat in winter. have a second glass door ..
You have a lot of plans and l have no doubt that you and Sergi will achieve them. It's an exciting year ahead:)
Very interesting, looking forward to the execution of the projected plans. Take it just step by step.
That is a very good idea.
@patriziadelorenzis378 I said glass because in this way you can choose to open completely the wooden one and look outside.
So excited for you, Sergi and Cheri
I know you have not decided what to do with your ceilings in the bedrooms.

The ceiling in the salon is just beautiful and should be cleaned..the kitchen would look great this color also.
Wonderful ideas for 2024! They are all lovely and I can’t wait to see all the beauty you create. So happy for you , Sergi and Cheri!
Fantastic plans - looking forward to seeing what you do in 2024 and how your garden blooms in summer
Put cement sealer on the walls of laundry room it will stop the moisture from coming through , nice plans you have for 2024

Ay Dios mio! Alla you have made me laugh so much. God will continue to be with both of you in 2024. Tanti auguri.
Could you get someone to come and sandblast the ceiling it would be so quick and save your backs and arms. Love your ideas for your home. 😊
For the salon, put up a thinly insulated plasterboard between the beams, that way you'll have the effect of beams yet gain some insulation and reduce the level of stripping the paint off the ceiling!!!! you could paint designs onto the beams like a French Chateau!!!!
Just google French ceiling or "plafond Française"!
Glass doors a great idea for that spot
Kitchen, utility, hall. You need a salon/ sitting area, and guest room and bath
So excited for 2024, take your time as it’s a lifetime achievement & you have plenty of years left ❤

I would use plaster board rather than plastic because it is lighter and easy to use.
Your ideas are terrific! Looking forward to the remodeling of your villa!

Totally agreed
Ahhh I do agree actually ☺️it’s just I know how hard it is to clean them…ehhhh

What is that on the side of the house that little room,, is that a dove house, or is that a added on bath , or what????
I think your idea about dove house is correct. It's a weird room with some tiny square nests? build right in the wall and just dust around - it was some wood there and spare tiles for the roof. So it's just another attic space.
Bathroom
