And whenever he does pick me up (which hardly happens) an says he "supports" me with softball, all I can think about it how he has gone to 2 games I have played in 5 years. I play select, so I have played thousands of games in that time.
Same here, man. My dad and I didn't speak for 10 years due to his emotional abuse, and I know how that pain creeps up ok you and weedles it's way into every aspect of your life, your relationships, your own self-worth. Yet all you want is that bone-deep love and security that only a parent can provide. It's hard as hell, and fixing that relationship is even harder... My heart absolutely ached for Shane in this video. 😢

My mom had a terrible mom and dad. But my mom is the best mom ever. She says that she wanted to be everything she never had.
Same thing with my mom. She’s tried so hard to do right by me even after my dad died and she became a single mom for a few years. She admits there are things she would have done differently, but I know she was doing the best she could with what she had and that’s all I could ever ask of her ❤

I have a memory from 1st grade when it was mother’s day, and i remember we were making cards. One of the kids wrote it to their dad instead. They got in trouble and started crying and i remember the teacher saying “Were writing mother’s day cards! Not father’s day cards. You need to learn to follow directions” and the kid choked out “But i don’t have a mom!” and the teacher was silent. I still think about that moment a lot.

I always think about that possibility when we make those. I was always weirded out by cousins because most had divorced parents, and my parents were never divorced, but I know I’d be heartbroken (my cousin fell in depression because her parents divorced)
Yeah my dad's in jail and that happens to me at one point while it was on Father's Day I mean I was going to school was over the summer but oh I know it was people were sitting there making Father's Day gifts and everything when I didn't have an actual dad to give them to I just had to give them to my stepdad which I really love him is just I don't want to actually have a father cuz my father is in jail so I know how you feel your cousins and how that one kid felt

I feel like me and him are kinda the same because:
My dad cheated on my mom and my mom and dad got a divorce when I was 5 and from there he tried to make my moms life hell and they would argue all the time and when I didn’t call him he would call the police and they would come to my house. Then when I was 10-11-12-13 which is now I eat all the time and now I’m insecure about my body because I have fat thighs and stretch marks all of my thighs and when I wear shorts my younger cousins ask me what are those. And I tell them. But ever since I stared watching Shane Dawson he has made me laugh and smile and he makes me feel like I’m not alone in life. And even though he might not read this all I want to say is Thank You

Good timing to dig this comment up lol. He is truly going to be an incredible father. I can see it having a lot of ups and downs for both him and Ryland, it will be a big learning curve. It always is that way with becoming a parent but even more so for these two. But they'll do amazing and love their children and do what they truly feel is right. I just hope they listen to the people around them and try to see things from every perspective as they learn.

This is my favorite series. My dad died when I was 7 so I understand what it's like to grow up without a father and how much it must have meant to reconnect with him in this series. When I was a teenager, I used to always think about what it would be like to meet him again when I was older and this series is pretty much how I imagined it would be. I miss you Shane and hope you come back to keep making meaningful videos like this. ❤️

My parents are so mean and inconsiderate of me but it's wierd coz my mum also has anxiety and depression and yet she is the one that is always making me have panic attacks and other shit. My dad at least tries to understand how i feel but he is also verbally abusive at times. They are bad parents in the fact that they only see themselves and not the people that they are affecting but I don't think that they actually know... They are the people who make us, they form our personality and it can go very well or so bad. I used to be a great kid but now i have depression, anxiety, insomnia, anorexia, ADHD, PTSD and other psychotic disorders because of how they have changed and their personalities don't suit mine anymore (which isn't completely their fault) . Long story short, they fucked up.

i reckon aye.. try being scared for your life at the age of 9 because ur parents split. my nanna parked behind my car so we couldnt leave and my dad was standing behind the car as well because he knew we wouldnt reverse.. Then your mum having to call the police andnthen your dad trying to drag you out of the car then doing that all again when you are 13. Not fun. Its the reason i suffer from anxiety, depression and anger in general. (it happened at 13 because me and my siblings left my dads house cus we werent getting treated right). I dont have a good childhood honestly.. its scary.. still cant sleep right now.. i think about it everyday.. its like a haunting memory that you dont want to remember
You were my first youtuber I ever watched and Sha Nae Nae always made me laugh and pulled me out my funk. I stopped watching you for years and coincidentally I’ve been in my lowest of lows. Every time I get anxious I turn on you tube and the passed couple weeks I’ve been watching your videos and you’ve pulled me out of a super low time. So every time I get down I will remind myself to come watch one of your videos because you always make me laugh when others can’t. I know people say it’s just RUclips, but for some of us it’s not. I’ve always dreamed of just starting RUclips and trying to be myself but I get scared every time and make excuses on why I can’t do it. The reason I started watching RUclips and musically is because my husband passed away and I couldn't get out of bed for long so my granddaughter turned me on to the internet which helped me to keep from being so depressed. I thank God that I came across Shane Dawson don't care how long it takes me to watch all his vlogs but that is my mission in life right now. I love this young man and don't even know him.

Shane you’re such a amazing person this makes so emotional and always have since I was going because of these kids without dads but their dads are probably horrible people or good but we never know we only know they have left and I get emotional bc this situation is the worse thing to happened but I’m happy that you’re saying ur childhood and I’m proud of everyone and support everyone going through this or not they’re amazing this makes me so sad I cried watching this 🥺😭
