Hi Andrew! I think you might be confused regarding Mormons wanting their own law. The articles of faith, written in 1842, says ‘We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.’

@@bearsunited5797 - I'm not really an expert, and cant speak to Andrews exact intent but I imagine he was referring to places like Utah where the laws are quite different because of the LDS influence (I went to a bar once and couldn't see any drinks!) and a quick google explains; "Mormons introduced a mix of divine law, natural law, state and federal laws, and Mormon practices to the early laws of Utah. Mormons relied on Mormon Church institutions for civil government for many years"

My daughter had multiple alter egos she would act out at these ages and had names and outfits for her alter characters. I allowed it completely. She phased it out by the time she was 8 or 9 and she settled 😊. Don't over react to a normal phase and they won't over react or get a complex. If you freak out..... your child will.

I don't know. He seems to me to be a bit obsessed with LGBTQ stuff. I gather he has one of those rainbow coloured, "You will have to go through me" t-shirts and although I've not seen it myself, someone in a comment section said his son - who Tennant claims is non-binary - has a t-shirt with the words "Let's get one thing straight - I'm not". Awful - this is a 10yr old kid who I simply do not believe went to his parents a couple of years ago and told them he was non-binary. Kids of that age tend not to spend their time focusing on their gender identity and researching what their own might be. An adult has done this.
Just my best guess but, as I said, I think Tennant is a little over-focused on LGBTQ stuff and Tennant Jnr, being one of five siblings vying for parental attention, may be saying what he thinks will get approval from his dad.

the problem is immigration without assimilation. If you were to move to say south korea or japan you would be expected to assimilate and take on korean/japanese culture and traditions to some degree and you would be heavily frowned upon by not only the locals but people from other countries as well yet people come to england or the u.s and we are expected to assimilate and build around them instead. Did "Brit ex-pats" start to don body paint and throw boomerangs when they took over Australia? Did "Brit ex-pats" learn the local language and take to the local cuisine when they took Burmah? "Brits" never assimilate when they move abroad, and really don't care if that's frowned upon. I really hope I'm wrong but even islf a couple of hundred kids have been socially transition the led down the medical patient for life by parents who "want" or thought a "trans kid" is just the thing to give them credibility is beyond disturbing.
Do they not just want their kids to be happy? "He always liked Hello Kitty so we chemically castrated then so she could live her truth"
Hopefully I'm just a paranoid old man who is worrying about nothing but I do feel after going down the gender rabbit hole over the last few months, it's an incredibly sinister movement. Not the useful idiots but the academic, healthcare and polirical side seen to be frankly terrifying. Add on the capture of media and corporations and complete lack of sensible robust debate is truly insane.

    • @ragnarok7976
      @ragnarok7976 Месяц назад

Personally, I do think in most if not all cases their intentions are oriented correctly. They do want the best for their child and certain parts of society that they find themselves in say that transition is the way to do that.
Hypothetically if you lived in a place where everyone was saying that bananas would kill you at age 30 you'd probably keep your kids from eating them at all costs. Your intentions are correct but your view of reality is not and you aren't critical enough to change it in the face of all the support those ideals get in this scenario.
I think many people forget or never knew in the first place that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
I do think there is responsibility on the parents end but I have trouble placing all of it on their shoulders when institutions and public bodies are putting pressure on them and manipulating them emotionally to believe this garbage. These institutions and bodies are intended to be a defense against pernicious ideals but as I've already said intentions don't always equate to reality. Ultimately we need a society that says "question" not one that says "accept".

Julie Bindel tries her best to control women to be what she thinks women should be.
I am a Christian. But I accept that not everyone is and people can decide to live their life their best way they see fit.
Julie is so patronising to women, and often says things like women don’t really understand what they are doing or saying and she goes to inform them or correct them. She is incredibly misogynistic, just in a feminist guise. Very controlling person who sees especially working class women as stupid and in need of her help.
I don’t think Lily is doing a fantastic thing but it is her life and her decision. Lily is much smarter than people think and she is 100% in control. People believe the fake crying and carefully chosen words Lily uses to trigger the Women of Twitter into screeching her free advertising.

The reason lots of the rioters and their supporters pleaded guilty was because they stood charged with simple public order offences that had overwhelming evidence. These laws are the result of long experience of policing disorder in the uk, such as the miners riots and football hooliganism of the 80s; and they are very well written easily enforceable laws.
Each defendant likely received the proper legal advice that if they pleaded not guilty they would be convicted and receive even longer sentences. It’s frustrating to watch two men who clearly know nothing about law enforcement making inaccurate statements. A little bit of research would help them look better informed.
People don’t seem to get this. If you make stupid emotionally driven decisions and break the law you will have to be held accountable. There’s no saying yeah that’s ok later when communities have been trashed and peaceful people terrorised.
Read the relevant legislation and then anyone can see how easy it is to convict people of public order offences when they do it on camera in front of the world. The brazenness of the idiots who got chose to get involved in the summer disorder had consequences for those individuals.
This is nothing new - following the 2011 Duggan riots exactly the same harsh penalties were exacted on anyone with the remotest connection or involvement - people of good character were receiving weeks in prison for buying a pair of looted shoes, for example.
The context is that those riots, as were the 2024 riots, were aimed at destabilizing essential law and order; therefore anyone who had even the slightest thing to do with that was made an example of. It’s really not new it’s not particularly sinister and the vast majority of the general public are quite happy with Starmers response and his swift restoration of law and order - and the deterrent conveyed to others who thing the sort of destruction and hooliganism we saw last summer were somehow ok. It’ll be a long time before anyone behaves this stupidly again.

I know that Leo still brought a lot of really serious topics to the discussion - topics that are very much hot button issues here in the UK right now - but it was still nice for his riotous humour and ability to get you both laughing and trading silly remarks, because you looked so much more relaxed than you often do during your interviews/chats. That is in no way me trying to denigrate the regular formula (I've not only been enjoying this channel for a year, I've also just read your book 'The Psychology of Secrets: My Adventures with Murderers, Cults and Influencers'...which I really loved and raved about on Goodreads). I love this channels format and always enjoy the guests. But a little bit of semi-anarchic humour and silliness with Leo seemed like the perfect show to kick off the New Year. (I have no idea when this was filmed...your work ethic and immense output is insanely impressive and only possible, I imagine, by filming multiple shows on the same day for later release.) But no matter when it was filmed, it was just nice to see you much more chilled out, throwing your head back and laughing, and seeming to enjoy the crazy little backroads Leo often takes in his wee jaunts into political comedy as seen at ground level.
All the best to you and yours for a happy, prosperous 2025!
