I never used a GBA or was even alive when they were made (me being a 14.5 year old weird techy nerd) but I recognized the Mario Party Advance box art immediately. Way to go obviously-flawed-pixelation!
Mario Party Advance is my favorite Mario Party. The only two criticisms I have are the quest "Swimmin' Wimp" is impossible unless you are good at button mashing(I eventually took care of it by getting a friend to beat it for me) and the Play Land version of the minigame "Floor It!" is practically endless if you are good at it(the minigame doesn't seem to get harder as you progress).
The best part of your Babe Ruth joke was that he started a pitcher. If you knew that, it was clever as hell. If you didn't, it... was clever on accident.
It's quite frankly a miracle the "worst" Mario game only got as low of a metacritic score as 54. For a franchise spanning literal hundreds of games? That's amazing. And, don't shoot me, but I enjoyed this game as a kid. Some of the minigames? Fun to play by themselves and try to grind to perfection. It used to be an obsession to me for a while to try and clear the mini game tower up to the highest level as well, which I don't think ever really happened for me unfortunately. Critics might've been the hardest on this game, but there are definitely Mario games you can call objectively worse. Paper Mario Sticker Star is a rather popular offender.
I genuinely adore this game, I’m 26 so I think I just fell in the perfect pocket of nostalgia for it. Literally remember bringing my GB SP to school back in the day playing this. I would always put the goofiest answers in the “what’s your biggest dream” questionnaire lol
@@joshcoy6748 yea they were best little time wasters. Honestly if the game hasn’t been labeled Mario Party I think it would be remembered much more fondly. As has happened many times, the expectation of a franchise kinda kills the excitement around a genuinely neat concept.
Weird...The worst-rated Mario game is a Mario Party that...I actually enjoyed a lot when I was younger. I think it was because I really liked the minigames and the fact you could go for high scores, and they could get kinda challenging over time! I do agree that the Shroom City mode at a base is pretty bad though. If there was actual good writing and such going on, maybe it'd be more tolerable. If there's anything worth playing in this game, it's absolutely the single-player minigames. I LOVED the book-sorting and melon-hopping ones especially.
I personally didn't even know the existence of this game and now, having seen a review of it I think I was better off not knowing about it lol Good video btw, also it must have been a pain to play that game for 3 hours, genuinely props to you for not immediately quitting
fantastic stuff as always jeff. let's just say i was hitting A to laugh quite a bit with this one. i couldn't help but notice you have TWO copies of mario party 7 (the best one) on your shelf and i'm in the market, lmk when you can send one my way!
@@JeffCompass If I had to guess, it's because Mario Party Advance was judged based on how well it adapted Mario Party (not well) rather than as a game on its own merits. Pinball Land had no such issues since there's no other game to adapt other than pinball itself I'm still wondering that those journalists were smoking to give a remotely favourable review for Pinball Land though
mario party advance is just a fetch quest plus with mini game that's it is not really a party game even though title already say is a party game if you want play better mario party on the go just play ds that one was underrated
The real reason why this game sucks is because this is the only Mario Party game without Wario in it. That’s why nobody likes this game along with everything you said in this video.

Let’s go with the latter!

I liked Mario Party Advance and Paper Mario: Sticker Star.

I enjoyed all those useless gadgets. They were amusing timekillers, in my opinion.

I also enjoyed Mario Party Advance.
If it destroys your friendships, it’s a good Mario party.
Exactly
Blue Dice Guy is actually from Mario Party 3.
I enjoyed this game... does that mean I get interviewed by THE JeffCompass?
possibly

You are slowly becoming one of my favorite content creator 🫵😎
choosing the receding hairline unlocks the real secret game that is actually good
As someone who doesn’t know much about baseball, I can safely say you did in fact use that reference wrong
I personally didn't even know the existence of this game and now,
having seen a review of it
I think I was better off not knowing about it lol
Good video btw, also it must have been a pain to play that game for 3 hours,

It was a sacrifice I was glad to make!
I was burned so bad by Mario Party Advance in 05’ after playing it and finishing the game left me disappointed

I found it at a goodwill for I think $5 and just haven’t know what to do with it so uh if you actually want it lmk!
All party games are overly hated by critics for some reason
Do they just not have friends?
10:50 fucking killed me
Good video
Wow, not even 5 seconds into the video and my guy is already insulting the audience calling us friendless losers 🙂
I enjoy playing this game singleplayer.
same
Huh, I considered myself a Mario aficionado and I've never eve heard of this game. I think it might be the only Mario game I can really say that for.
I thought it was Mario Pinball Land in the thumbnail and that game is way worse than Party Advance
I might actually agree, but going off metacritic Mario Party Advance takes the cake in the critic scores.

the facecam sections are not needed, the audio in it is so bad too

Hello!

You’re right, I will delete my channel
@iaobilibaomaster7928, don't worry, I agree with you.
This game is really bad in my opinion 😕
