Choose a favourite 🤔 yeah right 😂 incredible landscape and beautiful light but I like the image @11:40 with the single person in such a huge landscape to give it a sense of scale. Wouldn’t want to be out in Death Valley right now with the temperatures you are experiencing ☀️stay safe people. Lovely images Michael 👌
If I had to pick my favorite image from this video, I’d have to say ALL OF THEM!! Your shots are all amazing, Michael. I appreciate how difficult it is to get great shots, which makes me all the more impressed with your work.
Thank you for your lovely video. I am off to Namibia so this was particularly helpful. I look forward to your videos. I enjoy your gentle, non judgemental style.
Seriously loved this video and the many amazing photos! My all time fave was the close up dunes in pastel (12:36) and every mud crack photo was incredible 😃
My favorites are the one just before you changed to the wide angle pink/blue and the peachy pink with the person standing to the left. All awesome though.
Wow! Amazing shots as always. I have learned so much from watching your youtube channel. It is very hard to choose a favourite, but I do prefer the telephoto shots - particularly the softer ones at around 9:00.
That square crop of the spot you went back to was such an incredible image. WOW! But the older shot you showed of the golden dunes with the bird and it's shadow (from last year, if I recall correctly) is by far my favorite of yours. Always entertaining , Michael!!
oh wow trying to pick one of these images as a favorite is a difficult choice! They are all so wonderful, your ability to capture the elegance and beauty of a location never seizes to amaze me!
Hey Michael! You've probably heard this a thousand times by now, but just shoot everything that looks good and decide later if the shot works out. That's what I do. I shoot everything that catches my eye because moments like yours in the video with the sun rays beaming down into the desert is something I wouldn't have missed to shoot. Even if the shot ultimately comes out not as good as what my mind's eye was seeing, at least I didn't pass it up. Some of my best photos in my portfolio are ones that I almost passed up, but took anyway. Another amazing desert dune shoot. I really, REALLY need to take some time to go to Death Valley one of these days.
Really loving these sand dune photos of yours Michael. It's refreshing to hear you say that there are times when you wished you had shot a scene a different way. This seems to be a problem that many of us have-to choose to go wide or telephoto. I appreciate your input on this.
Beautiful images again Michael. Photography is all about the moment, 7:17 all the planing and anticipation in the world can’t make up for missing the moment. Thankfully you captured so many other moments in a truly stunning location. Thanks for sharing again Michael. Image at 5:51 wins for me. Stay safe 🇦🇺
Beautiful as always Michael! Dune fields are a really rich source of great landscape images. For variety, you might try the Algodones Dunes east of Bradley. North of Rt 78 they are a wilderness area. South, is an off-road site with lots of action shots.
My favorite image is the one that you seem not to like with the Dimond shape dunes both light and dark. I guarantee you, you put that up somewhere you're gonna bite. Half people buy in that like crazy.
I am with Kayahdog below, how can anyone pick a favorite from that collection of images, a stunning collection by any standard thanks for sharing Michael.
Your camera sensor must need a real good cleaning after a visit to the dunes. Great photos, hard to choose, but I do love the photo of the sun setting behind the mountains.
Have been following your dunes photography for years now, and it's always breathtaking! However, very curious to know, how do you find your way in the desert??
What a video, and incredible photos Michael! Watched in awe, with my jaw dropped the entire time. I'd love to participate in a workshop of yours one day.
So many incredible images here!! But the two that really stuck with me are the cracked lake bed with the circle shapes and darker color in the top half, and the one that is divided perfectly in half with a straight line of sand and sky.
och michael i really love it and i am also really exited to visit again and again the sand dunes to capture something interesting beautifull you influenced me as well in this case thanks
@Michael Shainblum great content as usual, keep inspiring, Michael !! Quick question - do we even need to focus stack @ 1:59 as the the closest object in the frame seems to be quite far from the camera ? Wouldnt a high F work just fine ?
The ones in the end (that scroll by) are the best. Is the entry point the ones at the mesquite parking lot? That gets sandy almost immediately - this one seems "rocky" for a while?
I hiked in from the back, but I also do hikes from the side and from the parking low. You can hike in from any part of the road really. Just depends on where you want to take the photos.
@@DLMVegas It tends to add portions of frames that are clearly not in focus. Its really annoying to go in and manually paint out Ps' clumsy mistakes... I guess I need to invest in Helicon.
Well, it wasn’t one of your images (exactly) but I really loved seeing your shadow of you on top of the dune around the 5:05 mark. I know self-portraiture is not really your thing but I liked that framing. All the still images were fantastic though! 👍🏼
G'day from Sydney Michael.. really enjoyed this vlog, almost had an ASMR feel to it watching the b-roll panning across the dunes, and your calm narrative keeps us drawn into the story as you go through the day shooting.. great tip on the "keep going back to the location" with the goal of learning to know the space, place, time and be there when the light is right etc. - always learn something new to consider and put into practice with your great vlogs - keep making magic happen mate, and hey, how about you come visit us in Sydney some time soon please ;-) cheers, @dez_blanchfield

The image at 11:50 is amazing 👏
You are the Dean of the Dunes! All beautiful but my favorites are your abstracts, great eye!!!
I can't choose just one. I love your work!
thank you so much :)
Dude. You crushed this video. The images we saw were 90% wall hangers. Inspired us to visit this area. Thanks for all you do!!!
Oh the mud patterns! Wow!!
Wow !!! That was an awesome video. All the images were just remarkable !!!!!
Can’t wait to do a dune movie photoshoot this morning, I didn’t know of these dunes though, now I can’t wait to go

... for me, picture with a bird is the best... thank you for that trip to the Death Valley National Park....
One of the very best photography channels on RUclips. Love your work.
Wow, thank you so much!
I loved your shadow at about 4:40!
If I had to pick my favorite image from this video, I’d have to say ALL OF THEM!! Your shots are all amazing, Michael. I appreciate how difficult it is to get great shots, which makes me all the more impressed with your work.
The grade onm this is superb

You're the king of sand dune photography
Seriously loved this video and the many amazing photos! My all time fave was the close up dunes in pastel (12:36) and every mud crack photo was incredible 😃
Ur simply the best
“I’m not is the best of spots but I guess I’ll take a shot anyway” BOOM !
Banger after banger after banger !!
Insane buddy 💪👏
Amazing shot of the sun at 9:05🤩 I actually loved the whole video. Desert landscapes are one of my favorites. Great work👍
All your images are A1 but to hang on my wall would be 8:00 or 11:04 really enjoying your channel 👌
Can’t pick the best as they are all simply stunning
Thanks David, really glad you liked the shots!
My fav is the image at 12:14 mark!
Beautiful photos !
I couldn't pick a favourite. So many jaw dropping images in this video. I will be watching again! What an amazing location.
Stunning as usual.
amazing!
They are all wonderful photos!
My favorite is the wide angle pink dunes shot not mentioned but shown at the end of the video.
All great images, the one with the hiker-photographer is my favorite.
I really liked the last set at the end of the video the most. I think the close up of the cracked mud is also very interesting.
Wahou, ces photos de désert sont sublimes
Love those abstracts with the cracked mud!
the one at 12:19 is insane, my fav by far
My favorites are the one just before you changed to the wide angle pink/blue and the peachy pink with the person standing to the left. All awesome though.
All of them are my favorite
Beautiful Michael! Makes me crave getting back there!!
Wow! Amazing shots as always. I have learned so much from watching your youtube channel. It is very hard to choose a favourite, but I do prefer the telephoto shots - particularly the softer ones at around 9:00.
The image at 5:38 is something else.
Thanks so much!

Wonderful images and video Michael!
I love Death Valley. Going back July of this year!
nice have fun!
Amazing as usual
Awesome pictures! Beautiful!
Thank you very much!
Loved the image with the lone photographer in, and the dried mud ones. Hard to narrow it down tho 😀

Another great video! My favorite is the beautiful abstract at 11:23.
Absolutely amazing.. thanks for sharing
I love your videos...
Really glad you enjoy them, thanks!
Stunning location and photos, loved every minute of this !!
The tranquil feel of the image at 9:00 is my favourite. Great photos!
Really glad you like that one, thanks!
I am used to take the shoot of landscape with my Kase landscape filters set, good for me to control the light outdoors.
My favourite was the one where the soft golden (pink) light was hitting the right side of the dunes and you were starting to get blues in the shadows.
Your abstracts are out of this world. Magnificent.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful images again Michael. Photography is all about the moment, 7:17 all the planing and anticipation in the world can’t make up for missing the moment. Thankfully you captured so many other moments in a truly stunning location.

Your compositions are amazing, would love to spend a day just watching you at your craft.
Thank you so much 😀

Thanks for the video and it made me feel so good, it gave me a lot of energy and thank you for the explanation. Thank you.
Awesome work Michael!
Thanks Adam, glad you liked it!

These photos are some of the best I’ve seen from your work! Truly inspiring!
What an amazing place, and some amazing photos.
If I had to choose just one from these amazing images it would be the distant figure of the photographer in the pastel sea of dunes. It is at 11.33.
I am with Kayahdog below, how can anyone pick a favorite from that collection of images, a stunning collection by any standard thanks for sharing Michael.

A joy to witness your work. Thank you
Love the sunset shot with the 16-35 a ton Michael! Very dynamic. Cant imagine being on the dunes now with the 130 degree heat down there!
Beautiful images! I truly need to check out Death Valley once the heat of summer has finished.
which one? I loved them all!!
as always amazing Michael , all are beautiful images, my personal favorite is the the one in 9.37 ,love the hues in it

So good man. Soooo good.,
thanks so much!
Have been following your dunes photography for years now, and it's always breathtaking! However, very curious to know, how do you find your way in the desert??
Great images and beautiful editing. You did an amazing job pulling out the shapes and colours.
What a video, and incredible photos Michael! Watched in awe, with my jaw dropped the entire time. I'd love to participate in a workshop of yours one day.

Dude!!! One day I HAVE to shoot Death Valley with you!!!
Lets go! :)
Hey Dear friend, I am a landscape photographer from Nepal and how can I join a photographic journey to death valley National Park?
The ones in the end (that scroll by) are the best.
Is the entry point the ones at the mesquite parking lot? That gets sandy almost immediately - this one seems "rocky" for a while?
I hiked in from the back, but I also do hikes from the side and from the parking low. You can hike in from any part of the road really. Just depends on where you want to take the photos.
huge
Great great video Michael. Can you give discount for your editing class?
thanks, there is a discount on the website.
Nice work, Mr. Shainblum. Do you use Ps to focus stack? Or Helicon? Ps seems to really bung it up most of the time.
I use both, I will usually use PS and if PS doesn’t want to stitch them I will switch to Helicon.
I'll agree with that.....Adobe seems to add all this AI garbage but can't fix focus stacking......
@@DLMVegas It tends to add portions of frames that are clearly not in focus. Its really annoying to go in and manually paint out Ps' clumsy mistakes... I guess I need to invest in Helicon.

The second image is the Ukranian flag. Brilliant stuff.
