Thank you for the demo. This is the best and very clear demo video for this device.

Why is there a schedule limit of only 16 entries? Since turning on and off require two entries this means you can only schedule eight events in a day. I need my plug come on every hour, which would require 48 entries.

I would like that the on time can be changed according to sunset time changing during the year. Hard coding the on time (e.g 17:00) is of no help at all.
My old timers can do that.

Hi there, I wonder if you could be any help since the online chat service was dismal. My set up is perfect until were you are at 1:20 in the video and I hit join network- then from there it pops up saying "we couldn't find this smart device" and if I try and reset it after the 10 second hold the light does not flash. Thanks for your help

This will not work if WiFi Router is off right? Planning to use a Smart Plug for turning on/off a WiFi Router.

      No, it will not work.

@@lucianistoc1264 Had the time to use some of these and found out set schedules will still work even without an active Internet connection and even if WiFi Router is turned off. But the Tapo App will NOT be accessible and therefore these smart plugs cannot be managed without WiFi and Internet.

I have another similar device from another brand (tuya) and I disassembled a remote control for an electric gate and connected it to a 3v power inverter so now I can open the gate from anywhere. But I have two problems: when there is a power cut and the power comes back on, the socket turns on automatically for two seconds and where i live there are frequent power outages mostly when it rains and the gate opens by itself at any time. Another problem is that the minimum ignition (inching) time is 2 seconds, so sometimes the gate gets stuck because it is as if the ignition button was pressed twice. Does this controller turn on automatically even for a second when there is a power outage and come back on? Can it be programmed to turn on for only 1 second and then turn off?

Do you think I can use this socket just to set a daily timer and turn the socket on / off only with my phone?
i don't have internet box, just my phone.
(I don't have and don't want alexa or other voice command)

Not only does this require a different app, it also lacks the power consumption report that kasa has so it's a hard pass from me.

I really don't understrand why KASA and why Tapo have different apps. Both are Tp-link,aren't they? So why do I have to install 2 different apps? For me,it was the main reason NOT to buy Tapo.

Correct - I quite like the Tapo app but know idea why TP-Link have 2. I changed to Tapo as I gave the Kasa set to my dad, otherwise would not have made to change..

@@naeemullahkhan4877 So,they prefer to put customers choose between Kasa and Tapo. "Smart move",what can I say ?! - I preffer not to buy Tapo in this case.
If my only option is to install a new app, why should't I try a different brand also ?
