That was funny. I'm an American living in Japan for 22 years but my sister-in-law is Chinese and lives in 'Stralia. I asked my sister after knowing her for 22 years what my English name was. (I used to live in Taiwan and China and was given a Chinese name). She answers "David" which is close but wrong. When she speaks to my wife weekly I always hear my Chinese name come up while they speak Shanghainese. She's lived in 'Stralia longer than I've lived in Japan but even I can speak basic Japanese. I asked her (in Chinese) what does she do when she goes to supermarket. She replied, "Wu bo shwa hua. Wu gei tamen chien, wu ma wenti." Sigh.)

If you don’t know about “Have you been paying attention?” You gotta find some way to watch. I love his relationship with his father Sam Pang on that show 😂
YOu watch Fisk? How. I caught it once here on our ABC I usually don't watch Australian shows we have a thing called the cultural cringe but I caught an episode of fisk and thought it was really good and worth watching.
The silence after the "He's like the Rain Man of autism" made me doubt if the audience doesn't know the movie or if they just didn't really appreciate the joke.

So glad to see Aaron Chen get onto the US stage! Such a great Australian comedian, relatable in many ways both from Asian and Australian perspectives, he's been on so many AU comedy shows, has done a tonne of standup, and it's amazing to see him pursue this path!!
Chenny baby, great job. Still a highlight of my life when I ran into you on the escalators at Ashfield Mall. You deserve all the success coming your way. You're hilarious and it's good that you are showcasing your talent in the USA.

Omg Aaron on Late Night! What a weird mix of things I didn't think would meet. Hyped to see Aaron thriving! (Maybe he can finally fix Seth's Aussie accent)
Dude's such a perfect on-brand comic for _Late Night Seth_, sharp, witty, lowkey intellectual, very normal human being of the type you'd want to hang out at parties with, and clearly with a heart of gold
@dallasl3688 why? Steve Irwin was not a comedian, although maybe some people found him funny. I grew up laughing at Paul Hogan, Strop and Delvene Delaney, but much of their comedy hasn't aged well. Aaron is clever, and his delivery is confident and brilliantly timed. But there are so many good comedians in Australia at the moment, you can choose whomever floats your boat without dissing those who don't do it for you 😉
@@dallasl3688 Settle down. We get it. All you comments make clear you didn't like him. Not every one will. Hell, America loved Bob Hope for decades, dude couldn't make me laugh even one time. I thought Chen was... OK... nice thread through the set, variable pacing a couple decent jokes. I'd watch, but prefer more acid (like the joke about the judge).
I once got asked questions by Aaron Chen when he was doing vox pop interviews about a weird story here in Australia where people were finding pins inside strawberries - super weird to see him on American TV but love that for him, funniest dude
Ray Gun is also a swimming teacher and oh well a few kids drowned because of their fancy moves. I swear she did not say breath during free kangaroo style.
As an Australian, I've been saying for years that this guy needs to be on the world stage.
Him and Sam pang father and son on tour 😂😂😂
He cracks me up too but I dunno if his humour translates outside of Aus?
@ him and Chen are similar, father and son personally think he’s hilarious too
As an Australian I’ve seen this guy on tv occasionally and didn’t know he was funny but this set was was pretty good.

Why?
So is Canada, the colder Australia.
Been watching Aaron from the US for years now. Hilarious and super chill dude. He's great in Fisk.
Fisk is hilarious, I hope they make another season or two. Some of the behind the scenes stuff you can find on RUclips is classic.
If you don’t know about “Have you been paying attention?” You gotta find some way to watch. I love his relationship with his father Sam Pang on that show 😂

I was just wondering where I've heard that voice! Thanks mate

Rain Man only came out in 1988. 37 years might be a bit too long ago, maybe?
I mean, it's a great joke. Cultural memories are shorter in the U.S.
yeah, that joke didn't get the responds it should. It's a great joke
100% both.
@@nevermorenovelistso? The wizard of Oz came out in the 30s!

Aaron Chen is legit such an amazing comedian - and I'm so glad to see him getting the appreciation that his dry, matter-of-fact style should have
Been watching him for ages here in Australia, love his awkward aura so much.
Oh he’s just so f&$king hilarious had me in stitches…. 🙄
I had the honor of opening for him at his recent Hawaii show and dude is hilarious live. Nicest guy both on and offstage!
No you didn’t.
@ don’t be jealous
after hanging out with him, would you say he is autistic, or just avoiding a difficult confrontation with his past.
Oof, weird that "he's the rainman of autism" line got nothing, great set.

Yeah, well over the audience's collective head.
I think a combination of being the right age and being Autistic would help folks get that one.
the audience was still busy doing the math in their head for (72 - 36) * 5 / 9
This guy went from interviewing randoms at UTS in Sydney to a late night US TV spot. I've been possessed by your spirit, GO CHENNY!
Saying that you “defeated” your therapist is wild 😂😂😂
Yeah, I LAMOed at that one. He deafated the therapist and leveled up to face the autisum specialist ! 🤣🤣

I know Aaron from the Australian show Fisk (on Netflix!). He - and the show overall - is hysterical and definitely worth a watch.
We love Aaron. Please go see him America.
Love it,

As an Australian, I don't often comment on RUclips. But when I do, I always start with the words, "As an Australian".
As an autist, my favourite jokes are recursive. "GNU's Not Unix", etc.
So so proud of you Aaron! I am not surprised you made it this far. We know you will go even further. So bloody proud!!
So good to see Aaron Chen hit the big time. He's genuinely funny.

Awww … Aaron didn’t give Seth a riddle.
Aaron: “I’m a big American city, but I’m not Los Angeles, and people say I don’t sleep”
Seth: “You’re New York”
Aaron: “…yep”

I hope Ronnie had a hand in getting Chenny Boy over there. Their scene in International Student is the finest work of art in Australian history.
Great work putting this lad on your show
