@Mark Hanna Awesome! I hope you like it :) The course I recommend in the video isn't just for video editing, but having a successful youtube channel as whole and it's by Marques Brownlee called RUclips Success: Script, Shoot and Edit with MKBHD. But you can also just look up video editing courses and find loads of options. I'd recommend going with the top rated classes and Skillshare Originals.

I totally understand how you feel! I did a solo traveling trip by myself 4 years ago and had the time of my life! Of course I had some moments where I felt a little lonely, but the thing I always bared in mind was that I did something far more courageous than what most people could never do, which is taking a solo trip. I still recall times where I'd kindly ask locals for help if I was a little lost or either locals or other tourists would ask me for help. It would always give me that happy vibe! Also, I would go to places where I know in advanced that people love to socialize and I'd simply take the stand to urge myself into it without forcing myself to do it unnaturally, and I had an amazing time! We all have a breaking point in our lives, but we always gotta remind ourselves it's what we do that makes us exemplary and also exceptionally gifted, and everything you share definitely qualifies as that!

I am sure there are moments when things get lonely, traveling alone. But you help so many people who are not traveling and are lonely. Did you ever look at it that way? I have spent most of the last two years recovering from surgery and spent many days in the hospital and I look forward to checking my RUclips subscriptions to see if you uploaded a new video. So, your work helps others. I know that doesn't take away the loneliness, but maybe it makes it a little more palatable...safe travels! I love being a solo traveler and honestly have an easier time traveling alone than with others. Feel more free, I do what I want, and meet more people where I travel to. I don't consider myself an introvert. I'm a pretty outgoing person who craves social interaction very much so. But I grew up an only child in a family that loved to relocate often, so I just got used to doing things myself and having my own space very early on, including traveling.

What a helpful video for potential solo travellers out there, Alina. I watched it last night thoroughly and have to agree with everything you said, especially saying NO and being brave in expressing anger to creepy men when stepped over boundaries. I learned that even though they may not understand what we say, people still understand the anger/annoyance tone regardless of language barriers.
It's interesting to see these questions myself as having travelled alone for 8 years, things and life on the road become second nature and everything becomes my normality if that makes sense? However, these are great questions with great realistic answers and I can 100% relate to all of what you said. THANK YOU for giving me a shout out, that is very kind and lovely of you ❤️

I'm very sympathetic about you being occasionally bothered by creepy men. As a man I really like that I'm invisible when I travel. But you women do have a balancing advantage that you're always perceived as non threatening and people much more naturally want to help you & to interact with you. On balance, you come out ahead as a woman if you can be assertive in refusing the unwanted attention & not be too upset by it.

Hoi, Alina, super interesting vid, well done and especially good to follow. Travelled and reviewed lot´s of part`s of the world alone and for myself, the people can`t understand why. Well, you are closer to you´reself alone, it´s much easier to go in contact with local people. Otherwise it´s also perfectly nice when there is someone around you to share exeriences and talk. Both is good, depending on the situation, but the "crazy" trips, such as around the world in five days, it´s better done alone!. Stay safe and healthy, always.

Alina!!! I have followed you for a short time, but until now, in all of my life, I believe you have revealed to me that I too, in fact, am an introvert! I think what took me so long to realize this is that although I have no problems being in the midst of big crowds of people, I have always, as long as I can remember, enjoyed being on my own in my many travels, enjoying my space, and watching life from "the outside!" I don't know if that makes sense, but it's like I love to watch life as if I am invisible or oblivious to others. With that being said, Covid restrictions have just disrupted my plans in Argentina, so now I am off to find another country to travel to in the meantime. I will check out Skillshare, as I now find myself with plenty of free time.

What a genuinely awesome and wholesome person you are. I have totally enjoyed watching you in various unique locales, especially in nature and interacting with the local people and animals. I understand when you say you’re an introvert (and the need to recharge), but I think you handle people graciously. Not an extreme introvert or agoraphobic, obviously. Best friends are those who unconditionally respect your need for space, but love it when you offer your sweet interaction. We never “possess” anyone. There is likely so much more to you than we (in the public domain) will ever see. But, thank you for sharing that gracious friendliness that you do. Perhaps someday “stars will align” and that special someone, who can share in the lifestyle, will appear. Your “journeys” are within an even larger “journey” that has greater significance for who you are. If I met you, I’d be so grateful to buy your lunch and talk about your most cherished experiences. Be safe, be strong, and remember you are loved! Thank you for being in the world!

Alina and I are introverts! We don’t like crowds, we do our best thinking alone and we find it uncomfortable when people crowd our space without being asked. I’m happy traveling solo but I’ve found couple travels to be downright memorable. Its always funny when your partner asks you to get something for them you’d rather not. Anyway, to make a long story short, a solo traveler should have fun! That’s the entire point of being on your own to see the world.

I can totally relate! I have travelled both as a single solo and with partners and groups. When I travel alone I go where "I" want to go and when I travel with others, I tend to go where "they" want to go. If I spend good, hard earned money to travel I like to go where "I" want to go. I tend to be a people pleaser and go along to get along, so for me solo travel is the only way I can have a truly fulfilling experience. Plus out of my six or seven solo traveling adventures, all except one have I met up with other solo travelers and hung out with them for at least part of my journey. Some are still friends to this day.

The gypsy or itinerant traveler lifestyle has always been with us. There are people who aren’t even attached to a country; like the Romany who originally came from India come to mind and people like them enjoy the freedom of not being tied down by a border or the claim to a particular nationality. Go and live where you want shouldn’t be controversial. For some people, being able to travel is the ultimate freedom and we should respect it.

I just want to tell you - hopefully without sounding creepy - that you look good without makeup as well - but I also understand why you wear it! I love solo travel! Nothing can feel as free!

I've made friendships all around the world whilst traveling alone but very rarely when traveling with a friend. Yes, when traveling with a friend, we'll still meet new people but I haven't yet come home from the trip with new long term friendships. That has only happened when I met people as I traveled alone.

I think the main benefit of traveling alone is you get to do the activities you want to do and not having to worry about the other people in the group and this is across the board for all types of people

Hi Alina! I personally identify much with what you are saying. I’ve travelled solo, with my wife, and I have also planned, organized and led small group (10-to-15 people) touring excursions. There are plusses and minuses with each travel variant. I very much enjoy travelling with my wife, in Europe and North America.
But I am an introvert at heart and I am comfortable travelling alone, even though there can be some lonely moments. Although I am an introvert, I have no difficulties in reaching out to and talking with strangers. It’s amazing how we can be totally open and honest and have great conversations with people we do not know. I also enjoy the freedom and independence of doing and seeing what I most prefer. I can also be an appeaser or people-pleaser in group situations. So when non-solo travelling, I can defer a bit to the wants and preferences of others.

The main point you mentioned..."dont stand out" and flashing whatever overpriced item on you.
Where I live, I have seen other Americans do just that, be flashy, and then they get mugged, robbed, assaulted.
It's not worth putting yourself in harm's way b/c you refuse to blend in.

Back when I was a "digital nomad", it was called: "working while on holiday". Laptops ran on coal in those days and battery life was measured in Planck time. I had a bag of adapters so I could plug a Cat. 3 phone cable into any phone socket in the world. Anything more than 28.8 kbs/s was considered: " high speed". I remember once checking into a hotel that had a T1 connection and I got to use a Cat. 5 cable. I turned on my laptop and it said: "network connection down: 1 MB/s up: 1 MB/s" and my head nearly exploded. 😲 So in 1998, Microsoft introduced Windows NT4 Terminal Server and we went to a Microsoft office to see a demonstration (no internet video in those days) and we all sat there in total amazement. "This will change how everyone works. WE'LL BE ABLE TO WORK FROM ANYWHERE, gasp." Microsoft wasn't the first to do it, but they were the first to popularize it.
The thing is though there are certain things you can't get around, for example, if you have kids (yes blah blah you can drag them around with you, in reality, tricky, leads to loads of problems at POEs), you develop a health problem, or someone in your family develops a health problem and they need help. And the ultimate problem - immigration inspectors. Who sit there in secondary inspection with a bemused look on their face as you explain your complex situation to them and eventually one of them will decide you don't have non-immigrant intent, entry denied and the whole thing unravels at that point. Not such a problem nowadays as remote work is more common, but on the other hand, they're more on the lookout for it. "Why haven't you got a return ticket? Who do you work for? How do you make your money?" Etc.

Traveling full-time sounds so enticing and at the same time so intimidating for me. What I mean is, I have a very good software engineering jobs that pays really well. On the other hand, I like to travel a lot too. And I only started travel for a few years because my job is solving my financial problems and financing my travel too. The catch is I can travel maybe at most 3-4 weeks a year in different long holiday times. At present, I am happy with that and will continue to grow as a new born world-citizen. And I am happy to see that you are not in this catch22 and doing what you like.

So great you are able to support yourself with all of your various income streams. You are doing a job you love and that is something most folks in the world can only dream of. My wish for you is that your channel will continue to grow so you can build yourself a bit of an income buffer and maybe afford a condo like your friend and fellow Canadian, Mr. Reporterfy has done in Bangkok. Never a bad thing to have a permanent place to call home that you can always return to. Best wishes from a fellow Sasky!

I never considered myself an introvert until now. I'm retired and have been alone for ages. There are times I want someone around until I don't. If that makes sense. I just wish I had followed my dream years ago and done what you're doing. I watch Noraly aka Itchy Boots and think damn, I'm not sure I could do what she does. Eva is much the same. And you're a joy to follow. Keep up the great videos. All of you are awesome.
