Popped up again in my feed so I watched it again! I've been taking mine as an "all round" travel blanket. I love it for a nap when I don't want to disturb a freshly made bed. ( I am on my third 1/2 and 1/2 now!)

It’s makes for a lovely blanket! What color combo is your current one??

@@EdibleThoughtsMakes I have the opal lavender/mustard yellow going. I did buy your zinnia combo- bright pink/bright orange, but may use it for something else. Plenty of time to decide.
Got the advance sale notice from Purl Soho (I'm sure you did too!) and bought a little stuff.
They must wonder what I am doing with all the yarn!
Right now I have the Daily Pullover in my lap. (Black.) I stopped working on the body to do the v-neck. Got worried it looked huge, and not good. I didn't want to spend all the time on the body and sleeves to have it look wonkie. Goal is to finish this up tonight and make a decision on its future.
You ALWAYS inspire me. I appreciate that!
      Karen
(I bought the seed stitch bundle-blueberry- to take on a road/train trip this month. Cast it on and it seems like it will go very quickly.)

What a great video! I've been knitting a lot of shawls because they're fun and a great way to use some special yarns, but I've realized I have no idea how to wear them. Styling videos like this are super helpful - thank you!

I'm back to say you did inspire me to make my own !/2 and 1/2. Finished last night, and was a little disappointed that I couldn't make it fit to stay on. Then I remembered your video! So many ways to style it that I hadn't tried! And I love that you made the little snap strap to help with the styling. I did order a shawl pin, but I like your idea better. I'll make one too! Thanks for being there when I needed you! Karen

Thanks for these wearing/styling tips, Stephanie! Someone at Rhinebeck showed me another way that works well with a large shawl: take one edge of your shawl square, and fold it over about 9-12” wide. Place shawl around your neck from behind, the folded part becomes like a 'collar' of sorts, and it goes around your neck in the back and down each side in front like 'lapels'. You could secure at chest area with a shawl or brooch pin or magnet pin. You can place your arms under some of the fabric that hangs at your sides, and could even cinch it with something to make 'arm holes' at the wrists, or cinch around waist with a belt. Sorry if I’m not describing all this clearly enough lol! Basically I like how the generous fold gives you a 'collar'.

Your tutorial on subtatuting wrap and turn for german shot rows is the best!!
May I ask what cast on and bind off you used.

Old Norwegian cast on and I bind off “regularly” with a double pointed needle that’s a few sizes bigger so it isn’t too tight!

Thank you so much for this video! I am so bad at styling shawls and I always see people with theirs styled so practically and beautifully and I can’t figure out what they did. I definitely want to make this!

You are so welcome Sandra! I'm planning on making different ones for different shapes. The wearing won't be necessarily drastically different but sometimes it can help to talk it out and see it in action! I have a long crescent, semi-circle, and long asymmetrical triangle to film.

Did you block your wrap when finished

    • @EdibleThoughtsMakes

You’re welcome! Yes I did! Blocking evened out the tension and stretched out the garter to be shaped more into a square.
