Thank you so much! I have made a “saved” folder for half&half tips. I find yours to be the clearest and most helpful, I really appreciate how easy it is to follow along! I’m still deciding on colors. After a two color I plan on making a striped one!
I enjoy watching your video and always come away learning something. Thank you so very much for this video. I Truly appreciate all the time and effort you put in getting this information out to those (like me) who need your help. Have a wonderful week. I
Great tutorial. Thank you. I’m going to start my first half and half triangle shawl as a gift to my mom who is always cold. Now to pick out some colors!
I've been slipping the last 3 on the first half. I'm trying to figure out what to do for the last few stitches of the first half and the first few stitches of the second half to accommodate my modifications. This has helped me guess! Ty!
@@EdibleThoughtsMakes the first was lavender opal and rose granite, the second chestnut red and kettle black, and the current one is honey pink and pale oats. I may or may not have additional skeins for future wraps in my stash... ;-)
Just fabulous. I am saving this in my library. You voice, speed and style of imparting is superb. Really. This demonstration de-mystifies and creates kind encouragement. I am grateful. I am traveling and when home I plan to cake up-cast on. I just am so happy. ( I did a small version but the 2nd color was with such frustration…. I read and re-read… watched videos. I just had hard time. I am a knitter who always proof-reads prior to cast on with a pattern and try to visualize however this was just a stumbling block). Not anymore…thank you so much for this. 🥰
Thank you so much Cindy!! I had a hard time envisioning the construction of this project before starting as well. I’m so glad to provide some guidance and clarity! 💖💖💖
I just found your channel a few days ago and you are terrific! I love your tutorials as well as all your episodes. Your flowers are beautiful and I really enjoy your calm manner. Your projects are beautiful as well. I will recommend you to all my friends! I am binge watching you now as I feel like you are my new friend. Your family is lucky to have you in their life. Thank you for taking the time to make these wonderful episodes as you are so creative and I love everything you present as well as the sceinery and calming music.
This was great. It made it so much easier to understand the second part of the GSRs. I was watching a washcloth videos in a foreign language to figure what to do next.
Thank you so much, very helpful. I said before, that I probably would get bored with this project but I’ve since changed my mind, and this tutorial will help immensely!
This is great! Myself & a few friends are making this and they've had questions about going into the second half that are really better answered with a visual aid (and I'm behind them in knitting!), now I can just refer them to your fantastic video. Thank you!!
@@EdibleThoughtsMakes I'm using Knit Picks Palette in Limeade & Opal (dusty turquoise). I'm planning to use Linen Quill in Mustard Seed & Lychee Pink for my next one (inspired by your current one!)

Yay!! Thank you so much for your positive feedback Claudia. Sometimes it takes a few tries to say and show everything I want to say in a clear and concise manner but if it helps someone out, it's worth it!! ❤️❤️❤️
@@EdibleThoughtsMakes I am going on "safe" colours because it will be a gift, so i started with a classic pearl grey and I am still not sure if the second colour will be a cream white or a dusty blue...I am using drops alpaca...it is so relaxing, it's my comfort knit in between other more demanding knits.
Thank you so much for your video! You saved my WIP, who was sleeping since April 😆 I was confused with the instructions because I did GSR instead of wrap & turn and I wasn’t sure when I had to change for color B. 🙏
Thank you so much Stephanie for this very clear instruction video. I have started my first Half + Half Triangles Wrap . I decided to slip two stitches on the edge instead of the one as you have. ( I think you used 3 slipped stitches on the first half of your first one then changed to two slipped stitches) My question is ….. what do I do on the edge of first triangle on the last row, and then when I start the second triangle ? Do I leave out the last g.s.r and just slip the two stitches at the end? ( I hope this makes sense) Many thanks, Bonnie
You're welcome Bonnie! I recommend knitting a small swatch and see what makes sense to you. You are correct, I've done a 3 slipped st edge, a 2 slipped st edge, and a 1slipped st edge lol. I think you're correct (and yes, after knitting so many, I might not have it all memorized to write out since that part is only done once per project! lol). On your last row of the 1st triangle, after knitting that last double stitch on the WS, there should be 2 single sts remaining. Slip those last 2 sts. Cut Color A, join Color B and knit across all sts. You should end up with slipped st edges on opposite sides of your finished project and the cast on and bind off edges should also be on opposite sides.
Thanks so much Stephanie. I will try a small swatch. Thanks also for confirming my thoughts to slip those last two stitches. I’m a huge fan of yours and all that you make and your beautiful colour choices. I watch many knitting podcasts but yours is my favourite. 😊 Wishing you and your family all the best for a great 2023. Bonnie xx
Do you add an extra stitch to the pattern number for the slip stitch? I was planning on slipping the last 3 stitches. I’m wondering if I need to add those three extract stitches to the pattern cast on number. Thank you❤
I really love your modifications and your color choices for the shawl. Could I ask where you got the cute daisy stitch marker? Thanks and have a wonderful day!
The shaping is done using short rows. The number of stitches in the needles is the same throughout the project. It’s the number of stitches you’re actively working that changes due to the short row method.
The only thing I’m not clear on is why your garter runs parallel. Is it because you resolve short row immediately? Or is that how it reads I haven’t read entire pattern. I do GRS when I knit something that needs short rows as well. Thanks great tutorial.
I recommend reading the pattern! It’s how the pattern is written. Comments below the pattern on Purl Soho’s pattern from Purl Soho representatives say it runs parallel as well.
I recommend checking out the videos I have done on those projects in the past so you can get the full details. Links to the episodes and Ravelry project pages are in the description box. Because the projects are garter, they're pretty stretchy and can block out to varying dimensions that aren't very exact. Thank you!
@@EdibleThoughtsMakes I was just wondering how big they turned out so I could determine which length of needle I would need to buy. Do you recommend a certain length? 40" or 47" ?
@@Janstone77 My preferred needle for this project is the FIXED ChiaoGoo Size 3, 47" Red Lace Circular needle. Although I have a ChiaoGoo interchangeable needle set, I believe that a fixed needle is the more secure choice because of the size and weight of this wrap. You don't want to worry about the join of an IC needle coming loose in the middle of this project and creating a disaster. When I first began my wrap I was using the 40" length ChiaoGoo fixed needle, and eventually the work began bunching. I knew that would only get more annoying as the wrap got larger. So I switched to the 47" length, and the work glides along smoothly with a very good fit and no bunching. Hope this helps.
