Steve's such a nice guy. Back in 1984, I was working at the Holiday Inn, in Englewood, Ohio, during high school, and I delivered his room service order. He was very kind.
@@BillieBailey-th3lc Yes it is. I also delivered room service to Judi Dozier who signed her room service receipt "Theda Bara". Of course, at the time, I had no idea who Theda Bara was. The next day I got a $10 tip for carrying the band's luggage out to the tour bus. They had played Hara Arena in Dayton the evening prior. Myself and one of the cooks from the kitchen stood out by the front desk and watched Billy & the others walk out to their bus.
Steve is so cool! I love what he said towards the end around 12mins where he says basically "thats how you get knowledge, you dont get knowledge without screwing up." Steve, you are a really cool and down-to-earth guy, thank you for sharing your talent and heart with the world.
Steve Stevens is a fantastic guitarist and all around musician. The arrangements on Rebel Yell are beautifully done. It's one of the best sounding albums of the 80s imho.
Billy Idol and Steve Stevens are a force of nature. Billy's punk sense combined with Steve's modern rock tones set the stage for a team that is still going strong 40 yrs later.
That's my u "Screaming" Steve Stevens. HE'S GOT TO BE MY FAVORITE GUITARIST!!!!!! I grew out of the impact of the 80's. Good for you, Mr Stevens!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU
If Rebel Yell came out today, It would change the direction of Rock music. Its a solid hit, and would stir up todays youth just as it did in the 80s. As Jeremy stated, it doesn't sound dated. It has great beat, melody, hook, bad ass imagery... Its has it all
I STILL like listening to it REBEL YELL (I still have my original 1983 album)! I DON'T like everything I adored in the 80's (I had 3 Madonna albums from back in the day, but have NO desire to listen to her now). Billy and Steve created CLASSIC music!
I always will remember Steve Stevens in Rebel Yell. It does not get better than that. I listen to Stevie Vai, even in 80s CrosssRoads. I still prefer Steve Stevens guitar work.
Great interview! I love the back in forth style of this interview…the interview is thought provoking without the interviewer talking too much, which does seem to happen unfortunately in a lot of cases. He proposes really good questions and then gives the artist room to talk. I hate it when the interviewer starts interrupting and won’t let the artist say enough to answer the questions.
Steve's use of tasty licks, tremolo, feedback, and experimental sounds created a spacious, ambient quality to their music that was amazing, and unique to him. Great interview! Thanks for the great music, Steve!
Get the motor…so perfectly stated. Steve Stevens and BI had that going “the groove”. You could feel it as soon as the songs start. Percussion and pulse. Great stuff great interview.
One of the most approachable, down to earth, "let's talk music", cats that ever hit the pavement; like a wool jackhammer. A musician's musician. Great interview man. "Nice job"
I think everyone can agree that Steve Stevens is one of the greats and is not given the kind of recognition that is commiserate to his ability... But the thing that isn't being said enough is what a freaking crazy good STAGE PERFORMER he is! The physicality and the flare and the awareness of his body when he is performing... Sometimes it's like that guitar is his dance partner in some crazy tango or something...lol he is amazing to watch as well as listen to
5:30 I think what you're missing, Jeremy, is that the Rockman (and I say this as a Rockman lover and user) was the "amp modeler / plug-in" of it's time. Everybody was using them! The trouble was, until they introduced the pro grade "Rockmodules" in the late 80s, they only got one sound - Tom Scholz' Boston tone (killer, sure, but still). I can totally understand why Steve would want to redo those tracks - but I'm glad he didn't!😂

LOVE hearing that! It's such a disappointment when you hear one of your FAVORITE artists is actually a complete asshole.

Someone asks me “who’s the most underrated guitar player you’ve ever heard?”, I immediately say Steve Stevens.

His sound helped define the 80s yet remains timeless.
He is so underrated
Can we retire this word??? Lol. Jesus
Everyone in the guitar world thinks very highly of this guitarist. Don't be an idiot.
@@tdz69yes please...SS is the best

Phenomenal guitarist
Amazing musician!! Thanks for watching. Hope ya subscribe! 🤘🏻
He is # 1 baby there is no one that can beat him and Billy they are #1
Steve Stevens is a wizard on the guitar, so talented in his trade !
His comments are VERY on point!
What a great guitarist. Nice interview....
Steve is a open guy. He has good interviews
Steve Stevens one of the best guitarists of the 1980's. He is a legend and his performance in "Rebel Yell" proves the fact.
I STILL think he's one the best in 2023!

One of my fave GUITAR players...
Dude he’s the best!! ⚡️
Steve is one of my biggest influences and I think above all, he has the most incredibly TIGHT rhythm of any player I’ve ever heard. It’s unreal good
There is perfect amount of synths in Rebel Yell. Just in the right places.
Steve nd Billy have a fantastic musical partnership.
Brilliant songs they have constructed together...❤

Perfect thumb position while fretting. 😊
You can tell I am a space cadet and Steve has taken me for a ride with his slick riffs…

A musician's musician.
Great interview man.
"Nice job"
I love his space ship sound effects!! I think he took what Mick Ronsan did with Bowie’s space fascination

Rebel yell will always be AWESOME!!! Thank you Mr Steven’s !!😊
Talented!!!!
sonically outstanding record
Legend
Great interview~!
Classic!
Best guitarist. Steve, keep your style "screaming. "
Thank you so much for that 👍🏼
Steve is the man!! ⚡️
why the hell does this only have under 1000 plays

I rate Steve Stevens A 10 🎸🎸🎸🎸🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁😎😎
If you’re talking about guitar orchestration, you’re forgetting about Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.
Rebel yell was the "go to" album when we wanted to crank up the music. Mtv wasn't a factor at all back then.
Top Gun anthem
They have stripped their sound lately
I wish he would revisit the space ship theme carried over from Vince Neil Exposed
Great talent, but dumm, he never got any publicity on the videos it was all billy idol 90 percent of the time it was focused on video. What a bummer
Steve is NOT "dumm"! Maybe because I LOOK for him, I FIND him in videos (with EVERY band, videos give more "face time" to lead singers).
Your obsession with canon ball snares..zzzzzzz
Steven kick ass a guitar player
