During the making of Halloween, they had some bags of leaves they scattered to make it look like fall in Illinois. After the scene they would bag the leaves to reuse them in other scenes. Tight budget! Love the vids guys!! You are the best!
i beleive the house now has an insurance agency on the first floor -- maybe whenever they notice anyone outside taking photos, someone runs upstairs & puts on the mask...Or perhaps Michael is always up there?
I literally busted up laughing when she did the MYERS CAN CAN lol That was cool of the guy in the house. He probably has his mask on standby for when he sees people out front
Thanks for paying such beautiful respect to Mr. Akkad. Not only is he the Godfather of the Halloween movies, he was the director of several entertaining Muslim movies, The Message and The Lion of the Desert, both staring Anthony Quinn. I was a horror fan long before I accepted Islam...
A couple of notes about the house that you guys loved at 8:00 - 1. It actually does have a relation to Halloween. It's Lynda's house. You can see P.J. Soles walking up to it after she walks away from Annie and Laurie. 2. It's also the house from the tv sitcom Mama's Family.
Yep, Mama's house is worth close to $2 million right now! Of course, it would be significantly less in Raytown, MO. LOL. I had pictures taken of me a few years back standing by that porch wearing a St. Louis Blues jersey. Just to say I'm probably the only person in history to have done so. Ha ha.
Thank you. I jumped out of my skin. I was like, how is it possible they come upon a house they like, and it happens to be the home from Mamas Family?! Then I realized that they prob knew, and they were just being sneaky snakes (what tv comedy show is that a reference to?) 😂
So glad they still have that hedge there! I'm a Halloween fanatic from the early days and it is AMAZING to see all of this! Thank you for uploading this beautiful video!
My girlfriend grew up in South Pasadena but lives in Brooklyn, I’m from England and loved going over there! The house she grew up in was used in a few films, including Teen Wolf. I’ve only just discovered your channel, don’t change the format, it’s brilliant and very enjoyable with two very likeable characters!
My favorite moment is when Jamie Lee Curtis is panicking and fumbling the keys, "The Keys! The Keys!" At the 5:11 time mark on this vlog a cool British sports car is making a right turn. It lacks a grill. It is a Austin-Healey 100-6 or early 3000. I had one in 1975. For me this is a good sign vlog. Keep up the antics Jessica, it adds to the story.
It must be a such a treat for you guys to go to all these famous locations in Southern California where all the movies and TV shows were filmed. I grew up here and started visiting the Halloween locations as soon as I found out where they were. It was fun to retrace the steps of Laurie, Loomis, and Michael Myers. Halloween is my favorite horror movie of all time as I'm sure it's at least top five for you guys.
I love the fact that you guys are respectful when making your videos. That is a lost concept on many. I was particularly impressed when you were in Amityville and visited the DiFeo graves
Michael and Jessica. Thank you for going beyond what most folks miss about this movie. And of course all others. I love how you both do your research to bring forth what we don't know or have missed. I thank you for that. And as always..... Happy holloween 🎃. Love you both ❤️
Your attention to detail is top knotch and your ability to consistently plan all of these filming location visits etc etc ... is on a whole other level
I did know the owner of the Strode house provided a pumpkin for fans to get that shot, but I didn't know there was a print out to go along with it so you can recreate it. I think thats lovely. I hope idiots don't ruin it by stealing or destroying them. I also had no idea of this plaque to Akkad either. Thanks for sharing. The owner of Laura Palmer's house (used in Fire Walk with Me & Season 3) is similar in kindness to fans with the owner of the Strode house. She's happy for fans to come to get photos, & I believe on Halloween, she puts up a cardboard cutout of Bob in one of the windows.

I live in Illinois and the 70s were my young teen to 20 years. I didn't know IL had anything to do with Halloween. That's cool. I love you guys' relationship and videos. Thank you so much.
Moustapha and his daughter, what a shame, I'm glad his son took over! This is my favorite film along with Friday and Elm St!🎃 Thanks for showing the gallery, I've never seen that before... I wish more people would visit the bench and the plaque!💜 Sounds very cool of the owners of Lauries house to leave the pumpkin! Yep, I love Mama's Family too!💕 Thank you guys great job as usual...👍
Awesome stuff! I believe quite a bit of John Carpenter's "Christine" was filmed in that area, you could perhaps go back there sometime and do a Christine filming location :)
Great one! I love all the creepy visits you both do and take us along. I would like to go out West one day and do all the touristy things. But for now I can only live through the content you put out.
I own that Criterion laserdisc as well, and watching it on an old CRT TV, it looks as good as the DVDs from years later did. It also has the added TV cut scenes (though sadly in 4:3) and Roger Ebert doing a retrospective review in the early 80s during the height of the slasher craze. If you have a player & an old TV you'll really enjoy it.
Ok, the owner of the Laurie Strode house rocks. That’s how ya do it! May everyone respect that coolness and kindness, and may their pumpkins be plentiful
I love so much the works of directors like Carpenter or Sam Raimi, with all their friends as cast and crew since the beginning, making horror history. Cinema artisans.
I can't believe Mustafa and his daughter died in a car bombing!!?? Omg how awful.. that's so sad .. I have two daughters ... Hits a little differently..
I had no idea he & his daughter passed way in such a manner. I read in Wikipedia their hotel was bombed. So horrible. I'm glad his son/s continued his legacy
I always enjoy your videos, thank you. I have to admit when I saw Michael Myers at that window, it freaked me out, so I can understand how it must have felt being there. How wonderful that the homeowners take part in the history of those famous films. Can’t wait for the next one. Love you guys.
I’m a new subscriber I just discovered your channel and I’m binge watching all your videos! I love you guys!! Excellent video on one of the best most classic movies ever made Halloween! ♥️♥️🥰🥰💯💯🔥🔥🔥
Halloween has been one of my faves since it came out, and I love these nostalgic memories! That laserdisc is sweet, and even though Im a guy, I love the purse too! Thanks again Micheal and Jessica! : )
Jesss!!!!! TERRIFIC POINT! The fact that there’s a bald spot in the grass from that FAMOUS AF HEDGE… wow. That is just insane.. I WANNA STAND THERE ONE DAY MAN!!! 🤣
Soooooooo grateful to you ghoulishly awesome people for making videos like this. Being in Australia makes it hard when you want to see cool stuff like this but thanks you both, this is the next best thing. ⭐️
Gorgeous album cover! 🎃 After moving to Pasadena, this is one of the first film locations I had to visit. The fun 80s horror film, House, is another one. That Victorian home is in Monrovia in a beautiful neighborhood.
I'm one of your fan. After taking several clips i realise u guys did something great. I was a big fan of the horror as the creepy film yah u give me lots of intersting information about the film and the location where it set. One day soon if i had a chance to visit i absolutely will come and see every single location that u guys visit. Further more i want to see u two too. Great content keep doing . Love from vietnam
That's the mama's family house at 8 minutes and 5 seconds. I'm sorry I'm being lazy and I didn't scroll through all the messages so this is a repost my apologies but I am absolutely loving this video
I met John Carpenter shortly after he recorded the commentary on that laserdisc and he gave me some instructions on finding the locations. This was WAY before anyone really cared or talked about finding locations and before there was the internet to find things out. At that time, the current Myers house re-creation was not there yet, the light rail line wasn't built, and the block where the actual Myers house was had recently been leveled. They hadn't yet built those rather ugly buildings that went up in the late '90s. Also on that first visit the car parked next to the Strode house in the movie was still there, parked in the same spot.
Halloween is my all time favorite movie seen all the houses that were in the movie, god i miss SoCal. Live in Central Valley California down the street from University of the Pacific Jamie Lee Curtis and her mother's alma mater
The lime green house that you guys love was used for the exterior shots of "Mama's Family!" That is where Vicki Lawrence picks up the newspaper and dusts it off with her feather duster!
I enjoyed this very much. I’m a true fan of the first Halloween movie. I was 16 at the time the movie came out and I’m now 60. I still make sure to watch this movie every October...hands over eyes and all!
I'm glad to see so many fans tour the neighborhood and homeowners so patient with fans if I owned the yard with the hedge I would cut out the dead grass spot and put pavers there for people to stand on maybe even put a plaque Michael Meyers stood here back in 78
My wife and I are 64 now we have successfully raised 8 children and we now have 16 grandchildren and are anxiously waiting on our 4th great grandchild ‼️‼️and Halloween is our most favorite day/night and they have all watched the original Halloween 😎😎
Michael and Jessica you two give the history and do it in the most fun way :) You two are the reason I hit the like button before the fun even begins :) Jessica I would love to find a purse like yours :)
Finally my favorite movie ever!! I have every Halloween movie ever made on dvd!!! Best collection! You guys are awesome! Thank you for doing Halloween today!!! Another great start to the day!
That neighborhood looks a lot more wealthy now than it did on 1978. Nice Job. Carpenter is my main man. Love to see you cover Prince Of Darkness-1987. And great shot of Debra Hill. A genius in her own right, who would have become a monster huge mega female producer had cancer not struck her down so young.
Love how both homes are owned by people who love the history of them.
Yea unlike some other places
During the making of Halloween, they had some bags of leaves they scattered to make it look like fall in Illinois. After the scene they would bag the leaves to reuse them in other scenes. Tight budget!
Love the vids guys!! You are the best!
I never understood this. Couldn't they just pluck some leaves and wait a few days for them to die?
I have to say. Micheal you picked the best baby goul to share this life's adventure with you. Love you both🎃
I recon she picked him though 😉
I was so shocked when he showed up in the window, I had to recollect myself. 🤣🤣🤣 I love your content, you two are the best!!
Was it an actual person or automated? like that scene in home alone where Kevin makes it seem like people are home.
I did too!!!!! That was awesome!

I would love to walk up that sidewalk to the hedge. Someday hopefully.
Of course I've seen these locations before in many videos but I love the fresh spin and cuteness you both put on this version..Nice job!!!
Such a great video! Thank you for showing us a new location! Can really tell you both love what you do and love each other!! So nice to see~
