  • Mr Scary, George Lynch, is one of the premiere guitar players of his generation. He first rose to fame in Dokken, then with his own band Lynch Mob and ever since while working with a list of incredible artists. In this short video George talks about his thoughts on a Dokken re-union, something that people ask a lot, and what his current relationship is like with Dokken frontman, Don.

      Yep 😌.... They could/CAN say what they want, about the tongue n cheek "LOVE" lyrics and some, silly anthemic songs but? The 80s DOKKEN ,AND the mid 90s with George too! (NO disrespect to the other great DOKKEN players but...) WAS and IS... Just some REALLY great M.U.S.I.C. no doubt, (and wasn't ANY more cheesy than 80- 90 percent plus stuff from THAT era either! 'Cept maybe their early pre-Back for the Attack "look". LOL.... But yeah, it's STILL a refreshing spin/listen to check out those DOKKEN CDs again in their entirety. 🤘🔥🤘

    George is really patient in having to answer these same old Dokken-reunion questions. He's continuing to put out great new music and projects so there is no need to keep dwelling on the past. I love the old Dokken records and it was a special time back then. George is nice to keep answering these questions. Noel Gallagher gets pretty testy when people ask him about re-forming Oasis.

    For Don to be singing still, after all these years and with his vocal issues, he deserves upmost respect imo. George was and still is an awesome guitar player. Levin does an unbelievable job in replicating George’s guitar parts, truly. And finally, the fact that Don and George can play together at present, even if it is just 3 songs etc - is a real blessing. So greatful to hear these two greats play together still. Truly greatful, and very very humbling to see.

      Plus..? 🤔 The whole drumming retirement thing that Wild Mick has done, THIS most last recent time was NOT the 1st time with Mick to -"stop playing and disappear into existence" as he HAS done, not that long ago (but he DIDN'T sell off ALL his drumming gear) so... Again, there ARE them trials and errors in the physical aspects of playing that WILL dictate your time of being able to actually physically "play the instrument". But yeah. Mick definitely KNEW his time WAS coming...... (Obviously). IF I HAD the 💰, the actual room and space? I'd love to have one of Wild Mick's old FULL cage drum racks! (Even one of those old 80s TAMA oversized drum sets too 😏 cuz I STILL have my last TAMA birch set 😎) But yeah, be kinda cool to have one of those old school HD Falican/Kustom drum racks🥁🎶 🤘🔥🤘

    I still think that it is plausible (With Steve taking the place of Mick as George speculated) that in the timeframe of the next couple of years a studio project could happen with 3 of the 4 classic lineup members. Scorpions released a new album last year and two key members are older than the Dokken guys. For now I'm looking forward to the next Dokken, Lynch Mob, and End Machine releases; Chris Macarvill said that Don sounds really good on the upcoming Dokken album so if he can find a middle ground between where was was in the eighties and where he was lately that would be a positive.

      @Jim Concannon the truth is from what I can find it's always been a 4 way even split since the mid 80s.. to the point Don had to go to court to get his name back( which at that time didn't work btw) so years later he bought it back from each member mick George and Jeff got paid.. but Don want all the money. It's frickin laughable at this point.

    • @gregorypeck1606
      @gregorypeck1606 Год назад

      @JM Smalley this shit has been well documented that since at least 1985, the band was spilt evenly 4 ways. Don and the other members incorporated the band. That's the reason for the suit over the name and logo when Don left in 89 that neither side won because the judge ruled in order to use dokken you needed 3 out 4 members at the time...because it was equally owned. So for george to claim Don wanted all the money in this case is disingenuous. Blatantly false. Later when the band reformed in 1993 as a stipulation Don BOUGHT the shares back from each of them
      So as to avoid similar disputes in the future over his name . Now if Don keeps the lion's share Now idk but frankly I don't blame him if he wanted to seeing as he has worked to keep the band going after george admittedly tried his best to destroy it on the way out the door with shadow life.
      A band HE ( George) didn't found and that supposedly 2 of his friends were still in.
      Great guy, huh?
      Oh, and did I mention in the 80s while everything was SPILT EQUALLY George rented a vette and totalled the car and tried to pass it off as a band expense?
      Yeah, great guy. i sure take his word for shit because hey, he's a guitar God, and he was there, right?
      To my original point, if george is STILL out there, making videos eluding to the fact that records and reunions won't happen because "Don wants all the money," and oh hey, besides that micks retired. How genuine is the peace really dude? He brings up.oldand dead shit every chance someone gives him a camera or Mic.Even if it hadn't already been proven false by anyone who dares to look into it and do.more then blindly follow a guitar God as you put it.

      @@gregorypeck1606 I just like...Grew up with and dig the M.U.S.I.C...I obviously, wasn't a part of their personal chyt, and really could care less honestly. Also, what about the one part RIGHT BEFORE the Monsters of Rock tour, AFTER ALL 4 members signed off? Your lead singer has a band member meeting and tells EVERYONE in the band. "ALL the rest of the players IN the DOKKEN band, basically? You guys ALL gotta go. Fired, 🔥. I'm gonna start the DOKKEN B.A.N.D. @Jim Concannon that's absolutely bullshit what was said was again well established by everyone in the band who isn't george. What he said was we can go on as dokken but I can't work with george anymore if we go on as dokken we need to agree to hire a new guitarist. Otherwise I WALK he walked away from the band and for a short time music all together and focused on cars until Steven Tyler talked him into trying music again Don didn't fire anyone after monsters of rock.
      And it was George's behavior on that tour harassing crew and turning his back to the crowd to do Coke that lead to this braking point...after Don had reached his limit with george after being attacked in the back of a limousine by george earlier in the year.
      The record company wanted one more record following that tour because Don refused to work with george we got beast from the east with the one track.
      The band was essentially done before monsters of rock. Don had already decided to walk away ( sound familar?) If george stayed . The rest of the band had hoped to convince Don to keep going because the record company was going to push them as a headline act with the next record. After the van Halen tour ended the meeting took place where Don said we can continue as Dokken with a new guitar player or I'm done.
      No one was fired
      They just couldn't continue with the dokken name as I stated earlier. Mainly that boiled down to because Jeff pilson left rather that stay in a group with mick and george because Jeff wanted to produce and sing.
      I enjoy the music also ...as I stated before in my original post this won't die because GEORGE HIMSELF brings it up every time someone puts a camera or mic in front of him.
      When ever anyone calls him out on untruths or things that others have said happened, on his end george always conveniently cant recall that ever happening but won't say it didn't happen.
      Most likely because it was 35 + years ago. ... and more than likely he was high on Coke at the time of the incident he can't recall lol

    Hey George Jon Levin is not a hired gun..he's been in DOKKEN over 20years and done more records then you did. With that band....and hey until mick retired he was in that band.... which by the way existed BEFORE you or mick were part of it.
    Yes the FOUR of you (yourself George, mick Jeff, AND Don were what came together to create most of the memorable magic in that band) I take nothing away from your accomplishments and talents George but you really need to get over yourself.

      This band has not one hit song since he joined

    • @gregorypeck1606
      @gregorypeck1606 Год назад

      @David Williams I guess that would depend on how you define a hit. Things aren't really measured or marketed in the same way as it was in the 80s, and 90s bands are pushed sales as a whole, aren't the way things are done by default like they were in an age of streaming .

    • @gregorypeck1606
      @gregorypeck1606 Год назад

      @David Williams it can also be argued the the albums lightning strikes again and Broken bones were both moderate successes. Not on par with the big 4 in the 80s...thing again the whole music landscape isn't the same. Apples and oranges.

    • @gregorypeck1606
      @gregorypeck1606 Год назад

      @David Williams by the same token George hasn't seen the same success either. Save for perhaps the first 2 lynch mob records.

    Saw Dokken open for KISS when Tooth And Nail was new. Absolutely incredible show. All four guys, nailed it. Been a Dokken fan ever since.
    Saw Don Dokken last summer and I ran through several emotions before it was over. First I was sad and shocked to hear how really horrible Don “sings” now, he’s done. Then I felt bad for Don, I don’t think he’s surrounded by anyone who will say DUDE IT IS OVER! Finally I got a little pissed I spent money to see and hear what I saw. Only redeeming part of the show was Lynch playing the last few songs. Then I felt bad for Lynch having to go out there with a singer that is absolutely 100% finished like that.
    Glad we have several classic Dokken albums to still listen to. Fan for life!
    But Don, stop. Please.
