In this video we take a preview flight in the incredible Flying Fries Hughes Aircraft Company XF-11 for Microsoft Flight Simulator that is due for release in February 2024
This is the aeroplane that nearly killed Howard Hughes so a certain amount of caution is required!
We take off from Hollywood Burbank and see what this old girl can do.

Very exciting! I believe in Flying Fries. Their 'Scrapyard Monster' is the most absurd, creative aircraft in the sim. This one looks like it will be a blast as well.

Also, you can do a lot more. Lets just say,when you click around in a Flying Fries aircraft, click around more! You can play a little game with the axe! Grab it by the head, and look for some wood close by to throw it into!

Wow. What a beautiful and detailed preview. Absolutely amazing. But the add-on is also highly recommended. I bought it yesterday. Normally I don't like such airplanes because they were never produced in series. But the XF-11 is something special for me since Martin Scorsese's "The Aviator". It was flown by a legend: Howard Hughes. Are you ready for this rocket ship?

wow the propeller animation is freaking awesome!!!!! i'm really hoping this will get added for all prop planes in the sim.... like in dcs it looks so good
Does look great!
Propeller animation is up to each developer. Just look at the A2A Comanche 250. It has the best looking propeller in the sim inside and out, and the look changes based upon the setting you have in the cockpit. You can cycle it in the sun, and see the reflection change as the pitch angle changes.
There is a fuel truck, the plane is just so big, and the truck is era correct, so it's a bit smaller. Back and to the right if you are in pilot view!

And the cockpit holes as well or ventilation, didn't notice those to now😂

Definitely will use this one for big cross country jaunts. Going over some mountain ranges with the failures enabled at lowest ("lucky") probability will add some spice. Will have to plan routes accordingly!

On top of rounding out the Hughes collection (together with the H-4 and HCG Digital Arts' H-1), this thing is set to be something of a unique beast in the sim. It truly does look like a quality bit of work. Unless someone does the D-2 prototype, I guess. I tend to love circumnavigating continents in the sim because I'm dull as dishwater, so together with the Caproni Vizzoli, the Fouga Magister and the open tops like the Ryan for short hops, this, I reckon, will become a go to as you mentioned for long flights. Looks like ground is Burbank Airport as it is today. Would be nice to have it as 1947. You would prefer to takeoff on runway 15 instead as most traffic land on 08.

You can install both GTN750s, BTW... Just get used to updating the PMS free one at random intervals! :)

Yes you can but I have no need of the PMS version anymore and probably not likely to use it just in the XF-11 hence I didn’t install it again.
