- Part Three is the concluding episode in the series and life of "India's Rajiv".
The Hindi version is Bharat ke Rajiv PART 3: तीसरा भाग - अंत The End • भारत के राजीव - Bharat...
It covers an important period when bizarre political events unfolded. Events that played like a political thriller and rocked the two governments that came to power.
A new, wiser Rajiv was on the come-back trail...
This is the story of Rajiv Gandhi's fight back to power...
This is the story of a man who rated "Z" - the highest on the hit-list...
This is the story of the last eighteen months of Rajiv's life.. ending in his tragic assassination. - Развлечения
I was up all night, learning the chapter of history that has been ignored by so many years by our nation.
Such a sincere, courageous person, full of grace, intelligence and sensitivity. He risked his life, and sacrificed it, simply to realise and respect the values of democracy. To behave in a fashion Indian masses wanted their leader to behave in. He responded to his criticism of being too closed into the net of security, and in turn lost his life.
I didn't live in the same time as he did, I was born years later, and took me 23 years to learn his story. But I wish I had.
I wish he wasn't as courageous as he was, I wish I had lived in an India he leaded.
But alas, that could not be realised.
I can only dream, wish and hope for it. So here I am, sitting and weeping, dreaming of what it would have been like to live in Rajeev's India of 2017. :'(
A very poignant and thoughtful comment, although no point weeping or dreaming about it, Rajiv Gandhi was a "Doer", not a philosopher, he would have preferred if the youth of today's India would value and uphold the true invaluable principles of democracy, and carry forth his lost vision in their personal strides. "Rajivs India of 2017" would also have problems, like the ones we are plagued with today, such as divisive politics and a media thriving on personalities rather than perspectives, what we need is people in public life who are straightforward, sincere and not hypocrites claiming to be Aam Aadmi or otherwise, and he alone could not lead if the people around him do not share the selfless vision he had, be it in the past or 2017, but you are right, even i feel our generation would have learnt a lot from this man. However, we as a society forget, he behaved impeccably in pubic and private life, he was not in the habit of performing theatrics or tamasha, the only reason there is nobody like him today is because he was a truly distinguished and educated man who believed on practicing what he preached and was a shy thoughtful considerate and compassionate human being, alas, the irony of life is the most benign souls are always the ones who are sacrificed first. Yet you are right, his is a loss which can never be replaced, he can give our eminent politicians today a lesson in basic manners and common sense, which power hungry people lack, in fact even our eminent news anchors shouting these days can learn a thing or two about integrity from this man alone.
MONIKA KASHYAP
Well said dear
He truly was a great man who Indian people lost so early and easily
Do not worry. You are in good hands with Modi
Absolutely right ✅
I agree with you 100 per cent. (I'm born in 2000). Manmohan Singh is 12 yrs older than Rajiv Gandhi ji, yet we have seen Manmohan Singh as PM in our childhood and adolescence, whereas Rajiv Gandhi ji passed away so so early. Today (as of 2021) he would have been 77. I haven't seen such a gentle, honest and humble PM. 😭 He mixed up with the people and jumped into crowds as if he was an ordinary man, inspite of the threat to his life. You are somehow right sister.....he shouldn't have been so courageous and trusting the people so much. 😭 Inspite of losing their grandmother and father for the sake of the country, Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi ji are still active in the Indian political scene. My only wish is to one the two as the next PM.....as they have Rajiv ji's blood. Today India needed Rajiv Gandhi ji as the PM, the leader, but he left the world too too early...🙏🏻😔
"If it comes to die for what you believe in, I don't hesitate. " Salute Sir !!
Thanks Simi - Rajiv Gandi would certainly be an example not only for the future leaders but a common man too. This piece of information made me idolize Rajiv Gandhi !!
What a patriotic fervour he had great RAJIV
Rajiv Gandhi never cared about security and safety. He always wanted to reach out to the people personally. I have something to share here. Once my husband saw Rajiv Gandhi driving his car on Delhi roads without any security. My husband was so shocked to see and said how can any PM just go like this? Such was Rajiv. No man who is a pm of a country can have this guts. I salute Mr. Rajiv Gandhi absolutely.
He thought he is nice so the world is nice... I wish those who killed him will burn in hell generation after generation

Rajiv Gandhi was a Honest and Brave man,He was very courageous as a man who flew in the sky,the other were jealous of Him as He had the ability to change the face and life of the Indian people ❤️🙏😭
@@vibinggood22 Exactly 😢😢

Rajiv’s view on secularism is fantastic. To defeat Rajiv, all the parties had to stoop down on issues like reservations and religio etc. The people today who abuse Gandhi family must see these videos to educate themselves. Simiji, you have done a great job👍
Can u tell me a good party as general category..I want to know..rss or aap or Congress.to end or decrease reservation in merit seat
“Get the country out of the mess..the last two govt. have made” this is so true even today.. what a gentleman..what a husband...what a father and what a great leader one nation could have. We at 2020 really miss a leader like him..his vision..his compassion..his tolerance. My tears are just flowing uncontrollably..I haven’t cried so much in recent years.. how lucky Sonia to have lived with such a incredible man. No wonder why she maintains so much silence and dignity even for today. I dint have good opinion about her until I heard about her from Rajiv. Our current politics is just power ke booke...ready to shed people’s blood on the streets to get the power. What a shame they called Rajiv a corrupt.
You're forgetting: what a pilot ❤️❤️
I agree ... After I learnt about him... I feel like I lost a gem... Can't get this thought out of my head that he is no more....and was assassinated like this .... Trust killed him... trusting the random public 🥺😭
India needs leaders like Rajiv Gandhi ji and Rahul Gandhi ji...who can run India with tolerance and secularism ❤❤🙏🏻🇮🇳
@@surajray1961 I agree with Rajeev Gandhi...but Rahul Gandhi haaaaa😀
It's unfortunate to lose such a great human being .....tears just rolled....Thank you simi
One of the most beautiful and complete and engaging documentaries ever made on anybodys life….this wud even put netflix to shame
I was 10, on Summer vacation, when I woke up to the news of the assassination. I still remember the tears of my parents and grandparents. It was the most impactful incident in my life and I have been obsessed and inspired by the Gandhi's since then. Thank you Simi Garewal for this remarkable documentary.
Same feeling I had too dear
👍
No matter what people say about congress my parents always told me that Rajiv was gentle and innocent soul. Today i saw it.🙏
@venussharma8941 Dukh ki baat hai ke opposition ne hamesha hi Gandhi Family ke khilaaf zeher bharne ka kaam kiya logo ke mann me. But khushi ye hai ke "safal naa ho sake".
Thank you for this wonderful three part Archive! I'm 25 and I've never really had a much deeper understanding with regards to Mr. Rajiv Gandhi's story. A lot of us younger generation needs to see this. The documentary was such a wonderful inside to how much of a gem he was for the country. Truly a pure and an awe-inspiring human being and a person who really wanted to bring about change for India. Such a loss for our country! The ending with his voiceover, over his death had me in tears!
I heard one saying "Only the good die young, the evil seems to last forever", Rajiv Gandhi is one great example... We are unfortunate to lost a simple, straight forward, innocent, down to earth and a person full of Love for Indian just at the age of 46. A very good documentary... thank you Simi for bringing it up...
A good human being - honest, humble, unbiased - and strikingly, a politician not talking about killing, threatening, harming or dividing people to get votes unlike the crooks, shrewds, corrupt and bloody politicians we're used to. We need people like him, desperately now.
TruthOnly Triumphs : why? Get killed by an another psycho???
Rajiv Gandhi is very special to me. I dont exactly know why.. By the time he died I was just about 7 years old. But that moment had a profound effect on me. I still remember seeing his sad funeral with my little eyes on Doordarshan so many years ago. That smiling photo of his which was placed near his body on the gun carriage was firmly etched in my mind.
The tale of his death was always a mystery to me and I was very curious to know about it. Then I started to learn more about him and till day I have collected about 7 - 8 books on his assassination. I have also preserved 4 magazines issued in 1991 which covered news of his death. And a dozen more about 25 to 30 magazines published by India Today, The Week, Frontline, Sunday, The Illustrated Weekly etc that covered Rajiv Gandhi's period starting from the early 1980s.
Everytime I miss him, I just come to watch Simi's amazing documentary. I have watched these for about 50-60 times.. but still I just come here to see Rajiv's rainbow smile, his talk and his expression of love for India and her people. I have never loved and admired any other politician more than him. I shall miss him till my last breath.
Thank you Simi ji.. you have frozen Rajiv's happy memory for us for all eternity 🙏❤️
I m as of now 35 my age i never seen a person like rajiv gandhi and how he was ,his smile makes any body to kind, humble if watch this documentary , after watching this documentary i feel like how Worlds are showing up .…. And people follow with money bt see rajiv gandhi how he was , really he gem of our country...thank u so much to simi and u made this for future generations and they should learn how a leader should be like a rajiv gandhi....
i was 10, we were in church for all night prayer meeting when this news came we were told to go home because suddenly many people came out in streets and it was turning chaos....i too was so found of him, i still miss him...having him as a prime minister for long time would have made India even more secular and rational country...
Beautiful story of Rajiv Gandhi, well written by Simi. Proud to be an Indian, I too like the Gandhi family.

Rajiv Gandhi was the rarest gem of an Indian politics. Deeply sincere, honest and very soft spoken. He was a regular family man, a loving son and a brother. When he married Sonia, he was absolutely devoted and a loving husband and also a caring father to his children. May the God bless his family, they have lost a lot by sacrificing so many family members for the sake of a nation.
So well said, Pam John ! He had grace and charisma. A very ordinary family man to the most loved PM ..😍 All he cared for ,was development & growth .Unfortunately, we lost him brutally . I still remember crying hysterically when he died, as if I had lost one of my own.
Sime n Amrita Garewel, your presentation about Rajiv is so touching. It brought tears frm my eyes. Long live Rajiv's name. He will come back to our country one day
So that was the end of a dream of a golden era of India. Tears, tears and tears I couldn’t stop once again after many years. I cried that morning many years back when Indira and then Rajiv Gandhi died. Couldn’t believe when he was killed. Our country needed this man. The picture of the country had been different if Rajiv lived longer. I am a die hard fan of Gandhi family, no matter what or whoever becomes the pm of the country.

A gem of a man.........Rajiv Gandhi
A gem of a documentary............ Rajiv Gandhi
A gem of a director........... Simi Garewal
It's a piece of history...... a gift to humanity ... to common people like me
Hats off to you.... Ms. Simi Garewal.............. for your hard work
I was a child when this happened.. and i wept so much. Truly Rajeev was a visionary. If you are an IT professional..as i am.. Then one must remember this great soul who really started it all!
Keep up your good work madam. Your documentary on Late Rajiv Gandhi was amazing. Everything put in a right way. I only wish Rajiv ji lived amongst us now. India would been more tolerant unlike now.
Christy 76
Yeah, don't worry you have rg who is too tolerant on the injustices of minorities converting Hindus and hating Hindus and Hindu culture. Because of Modi we are able to lift our head and showcase the beauty of our culture and strength of India. You can easily sacrifice the country and culture by having rg.
At the same time Mr Rajiv was not RG who aquired most of the features from sonia
The story of Gandhis family brings tears in my eyes but also motivate and encourages me to be courageous to work in the path of truth. An honest and virtuous man never dies.
Sam10 Ingsel yes.when I'm watching this it brings tears and I'm unable to control.
True I cried too
I cried too. Also when PM Indira Gandhiji died. I said our country has been orphaned . And then Rajiv Gandhi came and again there was hope. Starting from Nehruji to the Gandhi family till today, their love for this country of ours is magnanimous.

The Trust Rajiv showed in people of India... never go in vain.
It will untie India in Difficult circumstances...
take a bow👏
The Congress Govt has never tried to break India in terms of Caste or religion... They have always seen India as a country and not as a land of numerous religious beliefs
Can u tell me a good party as general category..I want to know..rss or aap or Congress
India had to go through these 7 years to know the truth about PM Modi and his Government, We paid a heavy price for it as Mr Gauravji says in this video ruclips.net/video/r_8BTcFGq-8/видео.html Lets do our part to spread this video as it is not shown anywhere in the Media. Most people do not know these RUclips sites. Now we have a more young genuine Congress Party with good leadership qualities. Lets get together with Congress and work towards building our nation towards prosperity, justice, compassion and respect for all. Lets get Congress to win the next election and I hope and pray that Dr, Manmohan Singhji will continue to guide the country's economy and save our nation for the future of our young generation.
There will never be a Prime Minister like Rajiv Gandhi, not now or ever, the ending bought immense emotion. What a great three part documentary. The Nerhu Gandhi may have ended but there memories live on for years to come.
Tears come to my eyes when I recount the painful and sudden death of our dear Rajivji who was the noblest, and gentle of leaders with a sincere and strong vision for the future of India and it's people. Many like me in India who remember the political atmosphere during the election campaign just prior to his death still believe that there was something more than just the LTTE behind his brutal and sudden assassination, just hours before the general election, some dark force who feared the certain verdict in the incumbent elections which would have made Rajivji the next prime minister of India.
TRUE
Thumbs up to all who commented here , there is a sense of sincerity, in all who voiced their comments towards this sincere man, it means there are sincere people, in India, although a vast majority voted for Modi, even Rahul does not match him or can talk like him.he even rejected the Presidents call to form a government. It is important for people to stay united, teach our children to follow simplicity, not to believe this man Modi, a crook, if Hindu Indians want to choose a Hindu leader it should someone like Rajiv, he quoted from Bagvad Gita so beautifully in the White House.
Superb documentary - i saw all 3 parts in one sitting. Learnt so much about this wonderful man. What a huge loss to India and the mankind. Such a wonderful gentleman husband , father, son. "If it comes to die for what you believe in, I don't hesitate.". Thank you Simi Garewal.

Rajiv Gandhi assassination was a sad blow to India, even though he is gone, his speeches, memories and his care to the people of India will live on to generation to come. No doubt the end part of his funeral was very moving and I felt so emotional to see a great man gone forever!
57:24 had me crying. This is such a heartfelt documentary. I love the presentation and our former PM. Shame on those who talk bad about him, especially after his demise. Such an honest man. I wish things were otherwise, such a tragic end. Salute to Rajiv Gandhi 🇮🇳
OMG !!! What a great document about Rajiv Gandhi, India missed u Sir , May ur soul RIP
A very heartfelt documentary.. It was indeed a very tragic end.. It really got us all very emotional.. Everyone should watch this heart touching film. ..thank you Simi mam..
Thank you for your appreciation. The song 'Main laut ke aaunga' was composed, written and recorded specially for this documentary, which was edited and released a few months after Rajiv-ji's death. So it is not possible that this song was played by Doordarshan at his funeral. However your appreciation and sentiments are rewarding.
SimiGarewalOfficial Okay..I may have heard it when this film was telecasted.. Excuse my ignorance..
simi garewal has made a wonderful film on rajiv gandhi..love it..
Every citizen of India should watch this documentary 😢
Agree 👍
Shree Rajiv Gandhi was so right to say “When the religion and politics mix , it’s explosive 🧨 not just for india but for anybody anywhere on the globe, we see that happening wherever Religion and politics have mixed.”
Yes ma'am. This is a key line spoken by Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, especially in the context of today. Regards, SimiGarewalOfficial Team
He was one of the best visionary leader India had. He was a very open minded progressive leader. God bless his soul and India should never forget his service to the country!

Always my instinct said that Rajiv Gandhi is a genuine and nice person ever. I cried when I heard about his death and I was going to school that time . But now, I cry again when see this documentary!! How could that devil woman did this to him??? At the end of the day, I have a question : is worth it by doing all these dedication from this wonderful Rajiv Gandhi to the selfish people in India ??
He could lived so many years and may be still now by seeing his children and the Grandchildren...
Who knows !!
Never knew much about Rajiv Gandhi until I watched this series. He is truly a honest, humble and inspiring person. Truly India has missed a visionary leader and a great opportunity.
Thank you Simi for making these videos.
I must thank you Simi ji for doing this series of interviews and documentary on Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. This is so valuable for the present generation who didn't know Mr. Rajiv. After watching this documentary, I have a very different perspective on the allegations against Mr. Rajiv on Bofors case and against the Gandhi family. He was such an honest, transparent, kind, sensitive, noble, visionary and courageous person! He didn't shy away to admit his limitations and admitting his mistakes. And he was doing exactly what our nation needed - connecting with people, opening borders with our neighboring countries, (especially with China and Pakistan), introducing a modern India with modern technology and an advanced economy. He was trying to bring unity in diversity in every field to create a true India. A great loss for the country to lose a leader like him!
It's sad that today Indian politics has become toxic and the politicians stoop so low for their vested interest. Even Mr. Swami was quite honest in his remarks that time then what he speaks and does today. The present political environment is bringing a lot of negative energy to fragment the community by spreading hatred and dividing India. But the truth is diversity and secularism is deeply rooted in India soil, and if they try to uproot this values then no doubt the nation will die!
Well said

Well said dear
Rajiv gandhi was a great man and we Indians lost him so early
"If you have to die for what you believe in, I don't hesitate!" Such an altruistic phrase! Thank you Simi for introducing Rajiv to the post-Rajiv generation kids! I still wonder how a complacent and poise man like Rajiv stood aloof from the ruthless ruffians and mercernaries who masquerade as politicians. Even today, the standard of political dialogues and discourses are awful to hear! I'm double sure India would've been a superpower much earlier if he hadn't been assassinated.
Salutations to the Visionary leader and this channel! Apropos narration!
He died 7 years before I was born.. never heard of him in my daily life.. I never knew one day in 2023 my heart would swell for someone who was born in 1944 and left me in 1991. Is it the fate of the world that good people leave soon?
Narender Modi and his wicked fellow politicians should be ashamed of calling Rajiv corrupt . He was an innocent n honest person who sacrificed his life for his country n people of this country.
Truly liars have an end too some day 👍🙏
O Simi ji, what a piece of history you've chronicled for the future generations.
Heartfelt thanks again. Just finished watching the third episode.
I just finished watching the three parts. It brought me to tears and I can't stop crying. With him gone too soon India also lost its trajectory. May God bless his soul /\ Om Shanti
I am 68. I am first a humanist. I was tearing towards the end of the documentary. Glad that natural justice prevailed for those who perpetrated the crime against humanity.
From Sri Lanka
Noo not yet. Today one got released
After watching all 3 parts of this documentary, I have arrived at the conclusion that it is no small feat for Rahul Gandhi to have emerged from such enormous, almost insurmountable generational trauma set upon his family. No normal human can sustain despite the loss of so many family members one by one. And today, he walks free among the people of India on yatras without any security cover just like his father did. Not once in the last 10 years have I seen him seek sympathy in the name of everything that he has been through unlike other politicians who claim to be "fakirs"
Hats off to Rahul Gandhi-ji and my vote will definitely go to Congress in 2024.
Maybe not in the next election, perhaps not in the next two elections but his son RAHUL GANDHI will become Prime Minister in the future and he will continue the good works of his father. We should only hope, deceitful people who are corrupt stay away from him so he can do some good for this country and we must pray the social fabric of this nation isn't torn irreparably by then. Simiji please get in touch with Netflix representatives and see if this can be put up on their platform as well, this deserves so many more views.
I remember the day when Mr. Rajiv Gandhi passed away. It was raining early morning when the news came in on radio. It seemed heaven was crying. There cannot be any analogy drawn with the current Govt and the Govt led by Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi. Even trying to compare the two is injustice to these people who have maintained dignity even in criticism and led by example not like the current set of lumpant who blow their own trumpets and try to malign others to prove their own competency. History will never be kind to these men. This documentary should be seen by all and thy pray that this acts as an eye opener to the andh-bhakts.
India is to be a secular country but the current government acts against that.like Mr.rajiv said religion and politics should be separated
Whatever the mass says today, the Gandhi family has always been the glue that has kept the country together with their selfless and secular approach. Secularism is the only way India can survive with so many religion and faith clustered within.. Communal politics would destroy the nation..We all need to be aware of it.
India's one of the biggest lost of loosing this Honest leader, I haven't seen a true and impactfull leader like Priminister Rajiv Gandhi.
very impressive Documentry thanks for posting.

I am proud to say that I lived during Rajiv's premiership.
Indira ji was my PM for 27 days only. I was born on 4th October 1984. She died on the 31st.
His commitment to connecting with the people, even at the risk of his own security, exemplifies his devotion to public service. It's rare to find a politician who values honesty, humility, and fairness, as Rajiv Gandhi did.
Thank you so much for sharing this, Simi Ma'm.
I am eagerly waiting for your shows to begin on Colors Infinity.
I am thrilled to imagine the excitement it would create and the gratification that people will get who are like birds waiting for the rainy season of nectar.

“Main mar kar bhi ek nayi sadi tumko de jaaunga” brought goosebumps to me! Truly the field of IT as Rajiv Gandhi sir envisioned became the backbone of India’s growth in the 21st century. Beautiful presentation, quite heartbreaking at the same time.

Thank you so much for all three parts. I haven't commented before watching all three parts which I did today. India lost a beautiful person, a brave and wonderful leader. He like my parents who were both soldiers in WW11, represented the good and heathy minded people of modern society. My Father was stationed in India around the time Rajiv was born. Unfortunately they died at a young age. They like me, would have marveled at these videos and perhaps from up above they are cheering us on, as their ' time ', left undone, rises once again.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful documentary.
I was looking something of this sort for quite sometime but was unable to find anything online on Rajiv Gandhi .His life is documented so well that it certainly provides a glimpse into his life, his death and his political career.
Each sentence Rajiv Gandhi was telling is a Quote ! I wonder, being born in a very reputed family, how he could understand common Indian's mindset so precisely. We really needed leaders like him, who know the history and the people, and love the people. Understand that Rajiv's murder was one of the biggest tragedies India had.
i doubt India will ever have great leader like Rajivji... Rest in Peace
Some goodbyes are very painful. The tears today were the same as the tears then. Rajiv ji, India is waiting for your return...
Thankyou Simi ji for this beautiful documentary. Have been a great fan of rendezvous...but this tops it all.
So well presented for the person who deserves it. Thank you Simi.
Sim these are fond memories of Mr Rajiv Gandhi no words can fill this void gap that has left many devastated. A humble and a true son of the soil India has lost
A Selfless, fearless, great Leader, A great loss to the country, in tears watching this after this many years
I hate presnt govt mostly bcoz of religious discrimination. I wish Rajiv sir u here today.m tearing up nw
Descrimination... go to any Muslim dominated part o India and see what descrimination really means
@@bvssrsguntur6338 ignorance is real. God bless u.
@@bvssrsguntur6338 I have stayed in Muslim dominated area and even sikh dominated area as well.... All I could see was reciprocation
Great series. Got to know much more about an honest and sincere man who happened to be the PM of India with vision.
Hope that the current leaders could make his visions a reality. If the WHOLE of India is honestly taken care of, irrespective of its vast diversity, it would be a force to recon with.🙏
Such a beautiful interview done by Miss Simi Grewal. Mr Rajiv Gandhi was smart, intelligent, humble and wanted to improve India. Gone very soon. I was very impressed by his humility. God bless his family.
"Mai lautke aunga"
Please come back India needs you
🙏😢
I watched all 3 parts of this documentary. I hear tears rolling down my eyes. How a person who was never interested in politics was dragged into it and finally killed by politics. Sad ending to die so young. I was around 9 years old when i heard on the radio that rajiv gandhi was killed. I remember i ran to my garden and started crying. I ve always been a fan of rajiv gandhi. Most humble person. He is a person not suited to politics.
this documentary is too good and knowledgeable

Heart wrenching. The documentary was very well narrated. Very well done! As I would expect from Simiji, quality stuff. I don't know how long India would remain secular. As he said religion and politics don't mix!!! The state has no religion!
Tears come to my eyes watching these documentaries we miss u Rajiv Gandhi...
SIMI, That was a wonderful!! Rajiv Gandhi was graceful, upright, decent, had poise, n above all a will to do!! No pardon be given to those traitors!!! Brings tears that we lost a GR8 human being!! His innocence is to sweet, n his austerity is amazing!! Thanx a ton SIMI for bringing out Rajiv’s goodness!!
