The absolute lack of luck for Sam and Joseph made a crazy plan even funnier
Seriously. The fact that they were one roll in either direction away from hitting that 17 was crazy. If they knew about the bet minimum or took like 3 more minutes to “have fun” then they might’ve actually done it.
i think it's neat how sam's team won the last season because of luck of the draw and lost this season because of the same thing
It was not luck but bad decisions. Have they read and done the first bet correctly they would've won #800 with the first #25 and lasted longer. Had they not considered trying to find a bar with local liquor as having a good time they would've had those $300 later in time for the second 17.

Sam & Joseph's bad luck in Singapore could be karma for bending a lot of the challenges' rules back in episode 3.
They also bent the "Have fun" challenge rules right before betting the money they got from it. It specifically says "various activities". All they did was walk around looking for alcohol, then start gambling. 2 doesn't equal various imo.
@@aprophetofrng9821 I assume that they were bending the rules so that the competition could continue, otherwise the race was over as soon as Ben and Adam did their bungee jump.

Sam's performance in this series is pathetic, tbh. This is supposed to be his show and resorts to logical fallacies to justify lazy ways he wants to accomplish a challenge, lol. I get it if you're losing and desperate, but it makes for pretty poor content. The show's potential is so much better than that.

Could you imagine if Sam and Joseph just conceded and booked a flight home from Singapore early so they could be at the pole when Ben and Adam arrived? Just the mix of them being so disappointed for a repeat of season one with Sam and Joseph going "congratz, you won!"
That one bungee jumping challenge basically changed the whole game.
The thing that got me was worrying if they were really just stuck in Singapore, and then I remembered that they probably used production budget to get home.
To be fair I think they had the money already booked aside, so they wouldnt be stranded haha. Other than gambling they're not technically actually making money
haha yeah, I'm pretty sure they had more money at their disposal, they just weren't allowed to use more than their budget. obviously without that I suppose the stakes would be even higher
Just like they had all the prize money at instant disposal.
@@2Links Honestly I'm more impressed they could get that money, and the banks never closed their cards. It sucks that the London-Perth flight wasn't operating yet when you filmed this. It would have been hilarious if one of the teams managed to earn a shit ton of money and make it on that flight, basically guaranteeing a win (although it likely would have been too expensive regardless).

Ben and Adam are fast becoming the most iconic duo in a long time. Seriously, it is like they embody the little guys on the Internet that just get shit done somehow.
Big up for this channel, this is honestly my favorite channel of the year by a long mile. I can't wait for more.
So in the end, it was Sam and Joseph's unwillingness to do any of the ambitious and more high paying challenges and Ben and Adam's ability to do whatever challenge they wanted regardless of price that ending up determining the outcome of the game
But Sam and Joseph were going to go bungee jumping, they just couldn't because Ben and Adam did first. It's not at all that they were "unwilling" to do it. That was fully their plan but Ben and Adam just got to it first.
@@AndrewTyberg They could have done fishing and the sea shell one likely at the same time. Would have got them several hundred and prevented Ben and Adam from affording the flight out of Fiji.

Apparently he only gets drunk on jet lag the game.
@@jonjanson2 Well, if you're going to get drunk, it should be with thousands of people watching!
Ben and Adam truly deserved the win, they were always confident about what the plan was (apart from when they landed in Singapore), and a little luck for sure but they played very well. It seems to be a trend that one team (Sam and Joseph) do really well the first day then screw themselves over and lose (happened in Connect4 when Ben and Adam didn't just rush Utah/Montana). Let's home that's not carrying on in Season 3!
They especially deserved it because sam and joseph just completely gave up when there was more they could have done. Since their only hope was that it hit 100 hours, they even outright said that so they knew, they could have gone to swipe more challenges to make ben and adam's life harder. Easily could have looked up a place to go to to find a local liquor and bought an actual net to fish.
@@firstlast446 yeah I feel like they were pissed about wasting the $700 on their Seoul flight and Sam knew Ben and Adam had way more money and were in the same city, but yeah I agree that he gave up way too easily.
@@firstlast446 It's also possible Singapore just wouldn't have let them stay in the country if they didn't get on there flight and didn't have one booked. Because if that isn't the case it would be incredibly easy to "immigrate" to another country by just booking some flight you won't take.
@@CaptNSquared they already have a 30 day social visit pass by default. They can stay as long as they need in Singapore for this game
Yeah I kept thinking “why don’t you just go to a liquor store or to some random supermarket and find a few bottles of the shitty Island beer the guy mentioned?” I guess you could argue they were afraid drinking in public was illegal in Singapore but still they could’ve at least tried
"So, I think we should go for the fishing challenge."
"Ok, let me google where we can buy a rod."
"Oh, no! It says here we'll need an Australian fishing license to this challenge!"

@@Jomskylark Getting a recreational fishing licence in most Australian states is basically just paying a fee to the relevant government department. It actually does only take minutes.
I would like to say this season is probably the most exciting of the 3 (counting crime spree) and the challenges seem more developed and better thought out that previously.
Since S3 is already recorded I guess this comment will be more of a suggestion for S4.
I feel that the challenges should be slightly more rigid in rules, specifically the go cart one and the have a good time one seemed like a really loose definition and dont do the challenge justice. Also I think it would be cool to encourage the use of alternative forms of transport rather than exclusively air travel.
Maybe a decrease in the reward proportional to the distance from where the last challenge was completed so you might get 25% if your closer than 10 miles from the last place then 50% if your between 10 and 25 , 75% for 25 to 50 miles and something similar. This makes it more likely for a team to find a flurry of buses between large cities for their next flight allowing for more money to be made from challenges in between.
Anyway thanks for your time reading this and can't wait for sep 7th.
How about at least one train ride over a certain distance? Or cross a border by means other than plane or car?
great suggestions! totally agree with these, especially the lesser emphasis on air travel and the decreasing amount with distance!
I love the alternate transit suggestion. If you have ever seen geowizard’s “how not to travel europe” series he gets across Europe with the goal of as many transportation types as possible, which i find to make that series one of the best ever made on youtube
A manhunt over a single european country without air travel would be a super fun concept
I definitely think using different methods of transportation would be good. I'm not sure how they would incentivize it though since it would surely be slower. Reward a little money for it? Require at least one leg of the trip (of some minimum distance) be done by land or water? Instead of a reward maybe a sort of "refund" based on a percentage of the savings they're making on the carbon offsetting budget?
Watched it last week on Nebula.
I'd really like to see more reactions from the other team, regarding challenges, or especially in this case the ending.
Like the call from Adam & Ben just to learn, that they basically won already
Ditto. I also wondered why Sam and Joseph gave up instead of doing more challenges in hopes of stranding Ben and Adam somewhere with no available challenges to progress them.
@@kevind814 that would kinda be childish way to end cause it would be like well if we can’t win neither can you
@@nick.100 It would have been a completely legitimate way to force a tie since they didn't even need to completely lock them out just delay them 8 hours to hit the 100 hour time limit

Let's yell at Sam (?)
I loved how Ben realized he was going to have to jump in in his underwear, looked around and contemplated if that would be okay, then they saw the fish
I love that not only did Sam and Joseph just straight up attempt to poach a fish in Singapore and post the evidence online, but they then ended up stuck in Singapore. Kinda disappointed that they didn't just book the flight home and wait for Ben and Adam to show up just to scare the shit out of them, though.
Same. That would've been funny as hell.
I wish the Nebula episode had the same outro as the youtube episodes! I got Nebula for this series finale but it abruptly cut off about 3 minutes earlier than this episode went on for and resulted in a super anti-climactic ending. An idea for one could be that they could go into “debt” to get a flight, but their balance must be above zero to win the game, meaning they must earn the money back
Would need a debt limit at the very least, although you can argue that debt is hard to pay off with challenges in one location.

Well, there is a subway in LA but, yeah, it’s weird that it doesn’t go to LAX. Like, it goes to Universal Studios, it goes to basically every landmark on Hollywood Boulevard, but it doesn’t go to the airport.
They're extending it to LAX. It was supposed to open this year, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't. I think they pushed it back to 2023 or 2024.
Edit: Apparently it's opening in the fall. Guess I was wrong.
i feel like flying west would have been the better idea... get the expensive one out of the way early with all the challenges still available
I'm excited for season 3. Ben and Adam's friendship is heartwarming, contrasting Sam's frustration with Joseph (more visible in the previous episode).
(spoilers) Really cool to see Ben and Adam finally win one. They deserved it at this point.
If I may, I don't know how popular my opinion is but I do find myself still preferring Connect 4 and especially Crime Spree over this game. I think it's about the interaction between the teams - the setup of the prior games were more conducive to teams directly interacting each other and thus having to get into each other's heads to try to preempt the other's move. Think how Ben and Adam cut off Arizona last season or that whole Boston airport hotel sequence in Crime Spree.
In my opinion Crime Spree did it even better because the game was asymmetric, so the decision calculus of Sam's team was completely different from Ben and Adam's, and therefore we got to see each of the two very different teams try to logic through both sides of the game. It was fascinating to watch and lent itself to most of, in my opinion, the best interactions, of which there were less in this season.
Really hope this show does well enough to warrant more seasons, because I'm so fascinated to see where this goes. Thanks for making this. It's awesome.
Yeah I totally agree with that, but what I do like about this season is that Sam’s team isn’t just Sam. Brian and JT didn’t do a whole lot; Sam was mostly the mastermind of those teams, but Joseph was a nice change of pace since he contributed a lot more to the team’s planning.

Sorry Joseph, but Sam deserves some bad luck after winning the connect four game out of pure chance of pulling the instant win card in montana, not to mention bending the rules in this game (the 500ft hill, and the "have fun" challenge I mean come on). Ben and Adam are true competitors, and endlessly fun to watch.

The Fiji water bit made me laugh, but I'd never seen Fiji water before myself. Until I was flying out of Barcelona yesterday and it was on sale at the airport. I had to buy a bottle just because of this episode!
Ben and Adam have great chemistry and are a joy to watch. They need to start a two-person RUclips channel where they go do stuff. I would watch it. BTW, this is my favorite series/channel on RUclips. Keep up the great work, guys!
I love how the last half of this video just turns into a Ben and Adam travel vlog
I gotta say adam and ben definitely deserved the W I find it funny how Sam and Joseph's plan backfired because they decided to use up all the easy challenges at 1/4 the value and then ended up getting stuck with nothing in Singapore. Sam and Joseph pretty much just gave up on their own because there were plenty of challenges they still could've done to earn money to at least get to another city, but instead they chose to gamble and fail.
My husband and I love this show. You guys inspired us to do something similar but in Europe with trains :)
They are doing this for the next season, it has been filmed, can't wait to see it.
@@gfrewqpoiu Awesome! Can’t wait to see it!
Ben and Adam are so fun to watch together, also the best ending you could ever get was the reaction of the woman:"what happend to you"
Just casualy, yeah we went around the world in 120 hours 😂😂😂
i just found this series yesterday and im already in love with ben and adam
Ben&Adam deserve the win. Like Sam and Joseph already bend the rules a bit in Amsterdam you can't keep doing that
'the world is a beautiful place and I'm glad we went around it together'
Congrats to Ben and Adam for a well-played game and a deserving win :) This was fun, and I look forward to seeing the next season! Looked like Europe, so maybe we'll finally get the trains season. I'd imagine the much more relaxed rules around customs and passport control in the EU along with the greater number of routes allow for much more sophisticated routing
SPOILERS
Lol, Ben and Adam running like mad trying to get to the finishing line first, meanwhile Sam and Joseph were presumably still stuck in Singapore 😂
Gotta love #TeamBenAndAdam. They deserved it 👏 congrats.
Suggestion for the next one: North Cape to Gibraltar without planes.
I think Longyearbyen, Norway to Puerto Toro, Chile. Top to bottom of Earth.
***MINOR SPOILER ALERT***
Can a Singaporean please tell us more about the shit liquor (beginning with B? Island brand) the restaurant didn't even serve? I'm dying of curiosity for what a local has to say!!!! Timestamp 3:30
I presume the drink is Baiju (maybe??? It kinda sounded like Bluey? There is also some sort of soy liquor too??) from googling it but I'd still love to hear from a Singaporean, if I dont hear back I'll ask my friend in Kuala Lumpur if he's ever had any local liquor over the border and revert hahhaa :)
posting here to get updates on bad singaporean liquor
same here
It really made me feel like traveling all over the world specifically to try bad local liquor.
Huh, was my comment removed because I posted a link?
Anyway, my guess is that he said "They do have brewery", and probably talked about Little Island Brewing Co not far from Changi Airport. I haven't been there, but there's a list of their beers on their site
Best youtube series
Would love to see a "debrief" session afterwards. Have everyone meet up for lunch or drinks and talk about their travels. Would be cool to see Ben and Adam learn that they sniped two challenges in the same city at the same locations.
Layover podcast is basically this, but a podcast
I love the stranger at the end who asked "what happened to you". I would've loved to she her response to the answer.
That was the perfect ending.
I totally agree, it was so cinematic haha
this season was so entertaining and I love the editing style
I so wanted to see their reaction when they made the call on where the other team ended up!!
The surprise about both simultanious tasks in Singapore.
Ben & Adam for life. Theyre so enjoyable to watch together. Also, as a former gambling addict, it was extremely satisfying to watch that plan completely fail. Don't gamble, kids.
'I imagined the ocean around Australia being full of fish' he says as he fishes in a harbour. 😂
