- Lando Norris wins the Miami GP in sensational fashion, cruising away from Max Verstappen after benefitting from a mid-race safety car. The first of many wins in the sport predicts the world champion, with McLaren's upgrades proving too much for Red Bull or Ferrari to handle. Lewis Hamilton recovers to 6th after a long battle with Sergio Perez, who nearly wiped out Verstappen on lap 1.

@@Lockwoodbeck61 this race just showed that dirty air is very much there to ruin races. when Lando was behind he couldn't get close and once Lando was at the front, Max couldn't get close. the McLaren loves clean air like the Redbull. but once they're behind it falls hard. hence why the safety car was the only way to make Lando pass Max. clearly, it's a given victory. but they all party it like it was legit. kinda cringe to be honest.
Toto needs to stop trying to get players from Redbull and focus on McLaren! Maybe they can show him how to use his parts!!!

Shock horror, people have only just noticed that max broke the left rear floor. He was never going to catch Lando after that. Just watch him hit the bollard, then look to the back as the car lands from a jump. I don't get how the media has just noticed this the day after. Lando was free and clear.

Red bull just got bettered by McLaren today. And yeah, things might be different next time out, but it certainly didnt look like a fluke.
And in the hands of Lewis, that Mercedes looked quicker than the Red Bull being driven by Perez too.

Piastri could fight any of the big boys in any race with a half upgraded car , full upgraded car just gives him more performance to fight with.

Congratulations to Lando! This is why we race, anything can happen! Catching that safety car and being able to pit at the perfect time shows that if McLaren could qualify better they could score more points and pick up victories.

In all seriousness what a race from McLaren. Could’ve been a double podium if Piastri was luckier with both the safety car but also the crash.
It could happen this year aswell. Ferrari is bringing huge upgrade in Imola. Mclaren has 2 more upgrades this year. Red Bull reaching ceiling point on their car. I think this championship is not over yet.

You are ignoring the facts if you think he would have won without the safety car. He would have come out in 5th place if he pitted without the safety car. He may have gotten on the podium, but would not have won.

he saved his tyres so he could go as long as possible, just to optimise the chance of benefiting from a safety car - so a little luck, maybe, but they laid the groundwork so they might grab any good fortune -

Max still got more points in Miami than anyone else. And Lewis lost 18 points to Max in Miami.
A lot of people are working very hard to try to stop that happening, but I think it’s already too late to stop Verstappen taking the 2024 championship. if Verstappen is in a slower car for 2025 then the other top drivers might just stand a chance..

What none of us allowed for though, was the Verstappen family self-destruct tendencies ! why didn't you mention how your boy Danny Ric was P17 in a NEW chassis while Yuki was P7 in an old chassis.
Yuki doesn't have an "old chassis". They're the same chassis. Danny got a replacement.
More than likely he made set up changes after the sprint which ruined the set up not to mention the penalties. DR has been doing well since the chassis change.
@@tom.m when he says "old" that means not fresh. not old in the sense of outdated. carbon chassis have a lifetime. they have a schedule to replace on a regular basis. but Ric forced it sooner because he can't do S with that car. it worked for one race and he's back at the back. Ric became a joke. i love the man but hte driver needs to srtop BSing himself this hard, it will hurt himself more than anything else.

Unless they're trying to say Yuki's chassis needs to be replaced already too, which would lend credence to Danny's suspicion it was a chassis issue.
@@tom.m you know drivers are weird sometimes. a sand grain can block the machinery. Ric lost his mojo that's it! knowing how carbon works because i work with it sometimes, it can happen that despite a very strict process and QC, it happens that carbon reacts unexpectedly. they are tested but sometimes tiny issues happen that are very hard to detect. hence why when you have a doubt, you change the whole chassis to send the wrong one to the X-rays to see if it's a bad part or not and if it's repairable or not.
When do we see pictures of lando with his whole head bandaged up from the afterparty? Congrats to him!

Bring on the sprint weekend every weekend! This sprint was totally different to the race (which is the main argument of those against).. for me it’s soo much more entertaining than fps.. hurry up f1 do what the new fans want!!

tbh i'm; a redbull fan and a verstappen fan but i'd love to see a much more competitive rb, ferarri and mclauren competition.

Verstappen had floor damage so his already poor grip levels were amplified. Red Bull confirmed after the race there was a rather large hole towards the rear left side of the floor. You could see the debris when they showed the slow motion footage but none of the commentators picked up on it. Mclaren have made a jump in performance but we'll only know if it's actually a good one in the following races when there's no SC or damage to the cars.

Mercedes’ needs to figure out what McLaren has done different for the gearbox and suspension, clearly the Mercedes engine has the performance but Mercedes and Aston Martin don’t have the parts to use it like McLaren.

The 2026 new regs are poised for Ferrari-McLaren championship fights.
I think maybe you are a little bit overzealous here since the new regs call for completely different aero and powertrains, and currently the new regs in testing are producing a car that is slower then the current F2 Cars as well as virtually undriveable.

Andretti recruiting Newey would be amazing. F1 management would have zero ground to tell them they wouldn't have a chance at being competitive. Would love to see it... but I'm pretty sure he's going to Ferrari.

Considering Perez had no DRS the whole time Hamilton was trying to catch up, he only held on for so long. Once he started to kill his tires and dropped out of DRS range the merc couldn't keep up even though the RB had problems here.

Finally, maybe he will show a bit more now. Piastri was doing the better job until all the tyre changes happened. Overtaking near the front was very difficult, cars were just getting stuck behind each other. Mags must have set a weekend penalty record 😂. Sainz is Spanish 🤣 when it comes to penalties 😮.

I was so nervous in the last few laps, if a midfield driver was to crash, then a safety car may have allowed Verstappen to come up level with Lando and possibly take the lead, (like back in 2021)

Adrian could go the the projects division and focus more on the RB17 to escape (better than saying running away) from the drama in the paddocks that is distracting and becoming toxic. Just my opinion, could be wrong, could be right.
But, yeah. Lando deserves a win. So close, so many times. As with Sainz after so many starts and podiums. Good drivers being rewarded.
If Hamilton went a few more on hard's would have made the yellow and been on mediums in P3

It's only a matter of time before everyone on top catches up to redbull, and without newey, and honda power unit, rb is going to be hurting. Mclaren proved they can beat rb, ferrari is at their doorstep.

Even as a Max fan i couldn't be more happy for Lando. It's great to see him finally getting his first win after so many years fighting for it. And it's also nice seeing someone else getting a win. I would love to see a title fight even tho it is highly unrealistic, but i still got the hopes high.
