    You’re super woman! After watching your vlogs you take the cake 😂 can you add clarity I’ve heard that repeating kw in title is ok if you want to “exact match”. Like “funny Xmas gift” and “funny Christmas gift” would apparently be ok if you’re trying to exact match. If you don’t repeat the kw then you would only broad match. Is that not the case? 🤯 BTW waiting for your next vlog drop 🤗

    Hello,
    Almost every etsy youtube tutorial I have seen so far (I and was watching a lot of them on youtube) was that you just need to copy tittle keywords for your tags. And every time I was doing the same for my listings I was questioning myself: Why Am I doing that? You are first youtuber who REALLY gives a very good point on that. Thank you! The problem is that there are so many so called etsy coachers on youtube that don't give you the right information so you might get lost in that process...

    Thanks for the wonderful reminders! The simplest rule (but far from universal) is to capitalize all words except articles, prepositions and conjunctions. However, the first word is usually capitalized, even if it is one of the three exceptions. 🤓❤

      Thank you for watching and supporting my content! ❤ Agreed on this! As I said in the video, this is just my own personal pet peeve- as I said in the video, capitalization isn't going to be a factor into not ranking but as an avid Etsy shopper & customer it gives me the 'unprofessional' feel when I see titles not capitalized correctly or misspelled. My prior English teachers and professors were sticklers for this and now I am in my own auditing of shops😅

    Hi Heather,
    Really love your videos and you have been so helpful for all of us.
    I had one quick question since I have always been really afraid of infringements on Etsy.
    If I Download a design from Creative Fabrica that allows Full POD usage which means I can use it as it is for my POD business, but my question is that if I post that design and somebody else posts the same design on their Etsy Shop which they have downloaded from Creative Fabrica as well - is there a possibility of infringement of one's property?
    if so, then who is found guilty?
    Many Thanks, Eagerly waiting for your reply. :)

    Hi, Heather: You always have very informative videos... thank you! Does trademarking involve phrases or single words exclusively.... For example, the word "unicorn"... I know it's trademarked, BUT, what if you use the phrase "My Best Unicorn" (not trademarked phrase).... is that allowable by Etsy?

    Always a pleasure!! 🤗 I do have a question. I'm not sure if there's an average "daily/weekly" view amount that i should be looking for for each listing. I know that's one of those things that can vary greatly but sometimes it's hard to know if I should adjust some things, like SEO, or give it more time. Since we usually only see the whole shop views (on whatever youtube video), it's easy to think that those bigger shops get hundreds of views on every listing everyday of the week. I guess it's more of a comment that I'd like your point of view on 😆 😂 thanks for all you do for us Heather 😊😊🤗

    • @itsheatherstudio
      @itsheatherstudio  11 месяцев назад +3

      It depends on how old the listing is. Under one month I would wait and over one month I would adjust. The other factor is if it has any sales because Etsy does scale listings for views over time. I've had listings get 1 sale month 1 and then go to 10+ sales month 2 and then 20+ month 3.
      If a listing is already ranked, getting sales and has been on Etsy over a month I would not touch the SEO personally. If it isn't ranked(over a month and no sales- can't find it on search) and not getting sales then adjusting isn't a bad idea. Everbee has a 'rank checker' that you can see where you rank in tags on Etsy that can help to determine if you are or aren't ranked. Also if you do not have all 13 tags or 140 characters on a listing filled in this is something I would maximize/add more characters or tags. Adding more keywords never hurts- it's only swapping keywords or subtracting that can change an Etsy listing's visibility.
      If you do change your SEO on a 1+ month old 0 sale listing, it does depend on if your traffic strategy which is using ads, social media, email marketing or just listing high volumes on Etsy(organic method). If you use none of those, then changing SEO on an older listing in the algorithm may not be worth your time.
      Etsy will not try to push a listing that has 0 conversions and 0 visits in 1 to 3+ month mark old range that changed a few keywords *in most cases* unless you have a few conversion events. If you use ads or social media/email marketing and get conversions on the new SEO change, this can push your higher. However, if your goal is organic ranking, then it's difficult to change ranking of an already established listing.
      The other factor is competition and demand of the keywords you choose. If you changed to a few keywords that have very low competition- this would be a different case but if you change to keywords that have medium to high competition that listing that has 0 sale history will not be elevated that significantly. When renewal of the listing happens it can have potential to change ranking from new SEO organically, but in my experience it's better to just create a new listing entirely if your goal is to do the organic, no paid ads method. You can use the same mockup, same design, just new SEO.
      It's when you create a new listing with altered SEO(maybe a copy of that listing) that can change the ranking on Etsy's algorithm organically- without paid ads or social media. Hopefully this makes sense and helps!

    • @nw8204
      @nw8204 11 месяцев назад

      @@itsheatherstudio ohhh, ok yes a few things that I hadn't thought of especially older listings becoming stale even if I change my seo. I only do ads on items already selling and have no social media so I'm mostly counting on organic growth.
      My newer listings have gotten more immediate views than older listings so I think creating a new listing with my better seo strategy (basically your strategy lol) for older designs that I think might still be good sellers is the route I'll take for now!
      Also when you mentioned it i realized that some of my older titles were in fact so short! (that was listening to someone else saying shorter titles are better 😆).
      Thanks so much for your thoughtful and thorough answer Heather! 😊 🙏 Excited to go through and implement your suggestions!

      I am not a legal professional by any means so take my answer with a grain of salt. I cannot say a definite yes or no to this but can offer my experience. From my experience in working with IP lawyers, changing the phrase or adding more words would get you out of the infringement zone. It's best to change the phrase a bit and add the words- I think getting a little creative is just best practice to prevent any IP issues down the line if you can.
      There's a lot more to law that I cannot speak on when it comes to these concepts and this is just knowledge I've learned from reading USPTO's website and speaking to lawyers personally. Some RUclips lawyers I'd suggest are Jim Hart and All Up in Yo' Business(great LLC & S-corp info). Also, a podcast How to Sell Your Stuff with Lizzie Smiley has a few episodes with lawyers about Etsy advice, LLCs, IP and TMs.
      DISCLAIMER: I'm not a legal professional and have to state that this answer is only based on my prior experiences and my opinions.

    I know you say to avoid misspelling words and I totally agree with that, however I was doing some research on my current handmade shop and found that a ton of people were misspelling a word that is literally a niche that I sell for. I assume it’s because what I make would be great for gifts so they may just not know that the spelling is wrong, lol. So I updated some of my titles to include both the correct and incorrect spelling to hopefully boost my visibility. Do you have any opinions or advice in this particular scenario?
