Truly way to Go Heather... This basic and fundamental understanding as to some of the integral etsy 'nuts & bolts' isn't only informative but empowering in that it demystifies some of the less than exciting truths about the platform. Thank You!!!

I'm watching a bunch of things while considering opening an Etsy shop.
Wow Heather! i wish i knew that sooner. . . Thank You
Thank you for the amazing information
Great info. Wow, I wish I knew that sooner....
Came across this just by acident whilst looking into opening an etsy shop, rules regulations etc, Good also to add that your business is insured. Covers your Business for anything that a customer may claim against your product, it can help as some try to make money saying your product was either dangerous etc. Is a life saver. I make sure i list as many caustions like only to be purchased for 3+ etc if toys, or have hand sewn add ons added to a product, myself i test it these type of items first. So thank you Heather from uk x
thank you! Great information!! Just thinking about a shop and this was very helpful. (btw- wow, wish I knew htat sooner! 😃)

Thank you 😊
Please warn people about checking shipping profiles to choose where they ship to. That way they dont get an international order and they end up eating the cost
For international orders, the seller only takes the payment if they offer free shipping in most cases in what I presume you mean by 'eating the cost'. I will be sure to mention this in future videos for those who offer free shipping or standardized rates that may not factor in the international rates!
@@itsheatherstudiough😊
Please olso go through how to do the settings for shipping depending on different alternatives. Such as print on demand or so.

Would you considered making a video on print on demand cost and if you need to have capital in advance.
Hey, I’m wanting to do a print on demand shop but I saw another video that Etsy just updated a bunch of stuff and said you can’t have basically any mock ups other than the ones that the print on demand supply. I see other shows with beautiful mock-ups so just wondering about that. Any advice? I really want my shop to succeed.
Love your training videos Heather! I'm new to POD. When the option is available, do you recommend pushing products directly from Printify or from Etsy? I.e. you mentioned pushing products to Pinterest from Etsy. I also use Shopify so maybe that's a better option to avoid higher sales processing fees from Etsy. Thank you in advance for your valuable insight. Thanks for sharing! :)
Wondering if you could do a step-by-step instructions on how to do these personalized listings with numerous photos on the front with a large banner above with the pets name, or whatever human or animal? I would really appreciate it!
Wow I wish I knew that sooner… :)
Heya Heather, you mentioned the trademark tool on Everbee, but I was told by Everbee that the tool is no longer available due to changes within Etsy's API. Did they bring it back?
good
I wish I knew this before I got started on Etsy....
How much of a percentage does Etsy take when you turn on offsite ads? And is that off the total profit including shipping? I want to make sure I am marking things up enough. Thank you
how to do print on demand other than printify because i know printify only does like shirts sweat etc but what bout the handmade things how does that work
I am new on Etsy and I have all my listing set as manual renewal. Some of the listings came to the end of that first 4 months just recently but they didn’t disappear automatically even after a few days and I ended up deactivating manually to make more space in store for my new items…. Does it usually take a minute after the expiration dates for Etsy to put the listings in the ‘expired’ folder?
Hi heather 'm a custom wedding dress designing, I'm interested to know about Etsy's policies on refunds.
In the bridal indsutry it's common for brides to change their mind or for weddings to be cancelled. What protections are in place for sellers.
I want to start selling on Etsy ...already on there buying but most mine is crafts and am not wanting to try pod for now. I just need step by step cause it seems so complicated.
there’s a video where a girl how step by step fill tutorial to start your etsy business
Mention account please @@kleom
Heather thanks for the video. I have one concern, i will pay for production and shipping fee to printify and printify will create and ship the product and lastly customer will pay on shipping.. then how i would get the shipping money back which i paid along with my selling profit ? Will etsy give or printify give the shipping money which i have given first. Please clarify this doubt. Thanks
You will get the funds of the shipping and sale(minus Etsy transaction fees, processing fees and taxes) by Etsy deposit in the case you do not offer free shipping. In answer to the question, Etsy will give back the shipping money in a combined amount and you can view the breakdown on Etsy. The customer pays first though and you pay, then Etsy will deposit on your fund deposit schedule(it could be next day or every Monday, tuesday- dependent on your schedule). There is a factor of Payment Reserve that Etsy can sometimes hold payment/fund release until the item is shipped that I wanted to note here. Hopefully this makes sense and if not, I have a free crash course module and training going over this process called 'How You Get Paid' here: studio.heatherxstudio.com/etsypodcrashcourse
@@itsheatherstudio Thanks a lot gor your guidance dear.
Hey Heather, I am not seeing any links/resources in regard to GDPR & Terms/Conditions templates. Can you please link those?
Hey there! The template is in the Etsy self-help article and it's in pieces throughout the article, the article(like it encourages) to customize your privacy policy based on your shop's country/data you collect: www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/59160674124
@@itsheatherstudio thank you !
Seems like Pinterest no longer integrates with Etsy? Also confused on the automatic $0.20 relisting fee each time an item sells even though it hasn't expired.. how is it relisting if each SKU has a stock of let's say 999 units?
If I only ship via Pirate Ship, why does Etsy still charge a shipping fee?
WOW, wish I knew that sooner. It seems like with all the fees that Etsy tacks on that you would need a 30% profit margin or higher to even make money on Etsy. Seems like a stand alone website would be a better way to go money wise.
Hello! I have a question regarding the sale of stickers and edited pictures of celebrities on Etsy. I've noticed a significant number of sellers offering these items, and I'm curious about their legality. Since celebrity images are usually copyrighted by the agencies managing them or the photographers who took the pictures, can anyone confirm whether selling such products on Etsy infringes on these copyrights? Your insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Please can you talk about shipping. My profits are been eaten up by shipping fee.
I will be sure to do a video about shipping in the future! I would suggest turning free shipping off or reconsidering pricing if you notice the shipping is causing no profit or a loss. Thanks for watching! ❤️
I'm confused by the relisting fee. Does it relist every listing, everytime it sells, even if it isn't sold out? In other words, if a listing sold 100 times in a day, would they charge me $.20 100 times that day?
I had the same question.
i was looking for privacy policy templates, didnt find it 😞

My etsy account got suspended within 3days of opening, and i got it back in a 3days as well
@JanezWorld1
Hello! Just wanted to drop a quick note to say I came across your profile and really loved your vibe!
And I hope it's okay to reach out. Are you currently using Shopify for your e-commerce business, or are you considering starting one?
Wow, I wish I knew this sooner... I have been on Etsy for many years (since 2016). Life has been busy so I don't take much time to do things on Etsy now that I have kids. I found that the star seller program is what really killed my business. I think they got rid of that now, but I had a custom order come in, they ordered it, and I sent them the proof, but was ghosted by the buyer, so I had to refund their order. Since then, I have pulled most of my things off of Etsy, just have two digital crochet downloads now. I hope to add more items, but am very hesitant.
How did star seller kill your business?
@@abbycat000 It is my understanding that being a part of the star seller program you had to have no refunds for orders that you had made. I had one email (referenced in the original comment) and my sales dwindled almost instantly after that.
Wow this almost seems a little overwhelming to a total newbie.
I watched actually to see how you address the random Etsy mistaken closures, etc 'Its frustrating, be nice' wasn't super helpful to know what to expect for a new seller.
Hold your fund until the item is shipped or the customer received the item, which should be within a week. Then you say they can hold your fund up to 60 or 90 days... So which is it? That is such a turn off to even start an Etsy shop.
No, she said, they hold your fund untill shipped or customer receives the item. This process will be in place for every item sold in the first 60 to 90 days of a newly opened etsy store , after that they trust you to be a sincere etsy seller and they don't hold your funds anymore.
I feel like Esty has more sellers than buyers.
Too many fees it doesn't worth it just create a website even Shopify will be less expensive than Etsy.
I wish I knew that sooner. Very informative.
