  • So in this video we find a swarm of honeybees on the ground. Now this is one of the easiest swarms you can get as far as it being simple as far as retrieval goes. Most of the time you can just put the bee hive up to the swarm and they normally will walk in. While they walk in it gives you a good opportunity to find your queen and put her in a clip or in a cage.

Seems like these comments are full of beekeepers. As a non beekeeper, anyone who sticks their bare hands into a swarm of bees is an incredible badass to me.

😂😂 at first I thought you were using duck commander to lure the queen 😂😂

Swarms build some crazy comb for sure .❤🐝

How 'bout that! If the queen can't get to the comb, her girls will bring the comb to her! LOL, never seen that before. Nice little swarm!

    Daryl, re Plastic Foundation,
if you snip out the lower bottom corner, before adding to the Frames #, (just enough for bees to crawl through) the Colony will drawn them out quicker ! Guess they are not hitting (crawling) their head against a hard blank wall ! 🤗
    # You might have to use a few foundation tacks to keep lower edge of foundation in place... I guess you could drill a similar sized hole on those full Plastic Frames, maybe... Certainly not Wax moth ! 🤭
    Hope this helps.

You either have no equipment available or you have to much. Never a happy medium

Would it help to put Nuc on a tiny base (lift it up a bit, but no Gap underneath, for bees to get under ! eg don't use bricks etc, unless it's in a solid line, they can't hide behind. 🙄)
Then place a Board as a ramp, then carefully dump bees on it, from that bucket. That way you can see the Bees, and possibly 'the Queen' more clearly march up into the Hive ... Than in all that Grass !!! 👀
Tip: Have a Single Handed Queen Catcher Cage at hand.
That way you can scoop her up, loose the attendants, via the inbuilt Queen Excluder (!) And mark the Queen with your associated Colour (Year)
Here in the UK... We say...
"Will (White) You (Yellow) Raise (Red) Good (Green) Bees (Blue) Google colours to see associated Year number... 0 > 9 years.
    Now is 2021... So it's White ! 🤗
    Hope this helps.

Great video, very similar colour to our bees, we have four hives here in Wales. How many hives do you have altogether.

They did that in just a couple days?
I had plastic frames in and they were not doing a good job , bump here and there. I've since replaced them with a few Acorn brand ,I'll see if they like it better, its triple dip wax.

With plastic I find just don’t mix them with foundation, they will ignore the plastic, if they only have plastic they will use it.
