    For those wondering, the varroa mites seen in the video are parasites that suck the hemolymph (Essentially blood) of the bees. This weakens the bee directly and also may lead to the transfer of viruses, which could significantly damage a bee colony.

    • @H0kram
      @H0kram 8 лет назад +179

      This parasite comes from south east Asia. Bees of this area can deal with it and kick their asses any day.
      Sadly, human activities imported those mites in Europe, North America, you name it...where bees never had to deal with this parasite. So they don't know what to do and if the infestation is big enough, it will eventually destroy the whole hive.
      It's a big, big problem. Some say it's the top reason of the disappearance of the bees along with pesticides. A worldwide problem.
      Beekeepers, bee's best friends, have their ways of dealing with varroa destructor ( the name of this god damn mite ). I think we should all be beekeepers if we have the chance. I know I will :)

The queen also decreases egg production during winter because food is low and increases production in summer months when food is abundant. Like when the mom is about 9 weeks pregnant the Fetus which is the baby can be see through and you could see the brain and the bones through the fetus’s body. And with a bee you can see the same exact thing and see through their little bodies developing which kinda look like liquid going through their eyes which keep getting darker.
