Subject: Urgent: Disappointment with Sony 65X9000H TV Display Panel Failure
      Dear Sony India Customer Support,
I am writing this email as a deeply dissatisfied customer regarding my 65-inch Sony 4K TV (Model: 65X9000H), purchased in mid-2021 for over INR 1.5 Lakh. The display panel of this premium product has failed in 2024, barely 2.5 years after purchase, and I have been informed by your technician that I must pay an additional INR 60,000 for its replacement, with only a one-year warranty on the new panel.
I find this situation completely unacceptable for a product marketed as “premium.” It is shocking that a TV in this price range and from a reputed brand like Sony would fail twice in such a short span of time. To add to this, I was informed by your team that there is no other option but to bear this significant cost.
This is not an isolated issue either. In 2017, I faced a similar problem with a 55-inch Sony TV, which also required a costly repair within 2-3 years of purchase. That repair cost over INR 1 Lakh, and I eventually had to replace the TV with a Samsung, which has been functioning flawlessly since then.
      Let me highlight my concerns:
      1. Durability and Reliability: Is Sony implying that its expensive TVs are designed to last only 24-36 months? This raises serious questions about the quality of your products.
      2. Cost of Repairs: INR 60,000 for a replacement panel is unreasonably high, especially when it comes with only a one-year warranty. How can you expect customers to pay such a steep amount for a component that may fail again within a short period?
      3. Customer Trust: As a loyal customer who splits time between Boston and Mumbai, I chose Sony for its brand reputation. However, my experience has been nothing but disappointing.
      Given this situation, I demand:
      1. A complimentary replacement of the display panel as a goodwill gesture to restore my faith in Sony products.
      2. A warranty extension of at least 3 years on the replaced panel to ensure peace of mind.
      3. An explanation regarding the recurring display panel issues in your high-end TVs and what measures Sony is taking to address these concerns.
As a genuine customer who has invested significant amounts in your products, I believe this request is fair. I urge you to take this matter seriously and provide a resolution at the earliest. Failing to address this issue will leave me with no choice but to escalate it further, including sharing my experience on public platforms and seeking consumer grievance redressal.
I look forward to your prompt response.
      Sincerely,
      Preeti S

Just my feelings, so take it or leave it. We need about 32k resolution at 500 fps to be an indistinguishable perfect real life motion picture. It’s also a problem of how frames are displayed in flashes of light as frames. Real world light information is arriving at different times from different sources. Think of it like how a 7 channel sound system is so much better than a mono system. The sound waves have time to bounce around and arrive naturally. The frame limitations make for a jutter that breaks the realness of a motion picture too. Lots of problems to be solved. But for the average consumer a $500-$1000 tv will suit your needs for years.

If I had planned on buying a 65 inch bravia 7 all this time, I would've been better off just buying last year's X95L many moons ago.

It wasn't a mess, it was perfect (except for the actual choices of letters and numbers; they should have used L for LCD and O for OLED, and just one digit would have been fine). But all the necessary information was present and no unnecessary information was present. This new naming scheme can't last longer than a year unless they're planning to release another, different, "Bravia 9" in 2025.

Millions of customers are choosing a different brand just because of that.
Make a TV just for Playstation, with the branding, same colours, and features just for your console.
LG and Samsung are beating you just coz of Gaming mode, and those brands don't even have a console.
