Just want to clarify that I had a friend help translate the Khmer in this video. It’s not a perfect translation (since languages can’t translate perfectly) but as close as possible!
Hey Ethan! I've been a follower of yours since your Van days! I'm here in Cambodia also! I got here Friday and leave to return to California on Nov 6th! Would love to meet ya!
I love Cambodia! I visited a few years ago and absolutely love the people and the culture! It's history is both glorious and terrifying but that is just a testament to the strength and character of the Cambodian people. I hope to return someday! Thank you!
One of the best videos I have seen about Cambodia 🇰🇭 I have lived in Phnom Penh for 5 years, I love Cambodia, the Cambodian people are the friendliest people one could wish to meet.
As a Cambodian, I am glad you enjoyed your visit in my country, we people are very nice✌☮, feel free to come again whenever you want! Cambodia welcomes you with open arms!🌹🌹
I really like the fact that there are now informative interviews now. Ethan is in a way helping teach about the world outside of what people know. Loving it.
Oh my!!! How you've grown and changed in the way you create and the content you present over time. It's a great journey for you, and for the audience. You (Ethan & Friend) should be incredibly proud of this! It's a TV-worthy production. This makes me want to visit Cambodia, but alas, I don't have a passport... 🤦♂
The biggest things in Cambodia 🇰🇭 I’m really love to recommend you guy’s are the temple of Khmer Artchitecture and the sculptures . On the walls are showing the reality of Cambodia during in the past Khmer dancing, culture and beautiful history ✨When you guys are walking into the temple I meant you guys feel refreshed and quiet 🙏🏻
Was in Siem Reap and the Ankor What about 3 years ago. Had a guide and spent 4 days going through the temple and surrounding area, staying at a hotel in Siem Reap. Wonderful time. Love Cambodia; warm welcoming people, in my experience. Food wonderful; prices more than reasonable---at least 3 yrs ago! Did you know that the temple was build many hundreds of years ago and was the center of a civilization of over one million! ! ITs a fascinating area. Thoroughly enjoyed your vid.
So Cool, as an Indonesian & who had been to Cambo before tbe Bali is just a state / city in Indonesia, ps in Cambodia especially in Sihanoukville is a very great place with so many awesome spot & comparable to Bali
Man, I just love your videos and how you connect to the people and the indigenous culture. When I travel, I do it to learn and understand and, watching your videos, I feel like I have a good foundation for understanding the cultures that you feature. Well done!!
I love Cambodia too. Been to Phnom Penh n Siem Reap / Angkor temples. Next trip should include Sihanoukville etc. It’s a gorgeous country with great people. About Angkor I was specially impressed by Angkor Tom n the carved stone faces… thanks for the wonderful report!
Ethan, you’re a good kid. You make your mom proud. Your vlog is full of humanity and your voice adds a certain something to the narration. FCC is beautiful. They’ve got a great designer and builder. The place is absolutely stunning.
I was in Cambodia month ago and god… this country is insane! I love all about this place, the people, the culture and the food is great. One thing that I do not like there is wildlife😂 If you are afraid of insects, lizards, snakes, bugs and etc, you will be terrified😂🙏🏻
After about 3 months being there I was very sick with dingy fever, I would say the mosquitoes are the most dangerous thing, extremely ill and Cambodia is one of the hottest places for dengue fever, it was much worse than covid. 🙏🙏
@@JoeKuliev hey thanks, my Canadian buddy living there in Siam reap over 5 years. He had it three times and nearly died. So really especially in that country that is why the restaurant so it's have a fan blasting on you. Wear repellent and don't be out certain hours. And you can bet I'm going to be more careful traveling there in the future!
OMG! I'm shocked, the background music that you used when you were visiting Temple. It's our traditional music and I can say your vlog is very good quality with details, damn bro! It was awesome. Sending love from Cambodia.
I really want to visit Cambodia, I feel drawn to it somehow. Also, your videos are getting better and better, I can definitely see your channel taking off.
I find your new(er) format of travel videos is just stellar. Thank you for sharing your adventures and I love learning about parts of the world worthy of visiting!
Totally enjoyed the video. Great filming and you have such an easy presentation style Ethan. Super content as well. I have really enjoyed many of your videos and I feel like I’m with you on your travels! Take care, be safe. Best wishes from Wales 🏴.
I absolutely LOVE Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand. It's my very favorite area on Earth. I haven't been to Laos yet but I definitely want to visit there on my next trip to southeast Asia.
You have evolved into a wonderful professional storyteller and retain the same humorous content as always! LOVE the censored feet bit. I wish there were more with you interacting with those who travel with you. Travel is always best when shared with friends.
Your videography and editing has become so professional. It was interesting to me to note how similar the Cambodia history show is to the Thai history shows. The best one is in Phuket. It's jaw-dropping.
Loved this video! One of the best I've seen from you Ethan! I've followed your adventures for a while now, and am loving this exploration of different cultures.
What a fantastic vlog on Cambodia Ethan..thank you..loved the two people you interviewed.. it would be great to hisit that country and enjoy its culture and everything else it has to offer.. including the French influence. More please ??? Lolxxxxx 😍🤩🤗
I'm in the beginning stages of planning a trip to SE Asia - my first time on the continent - in the early part of next year. I was thinking originally to visit Viet Nam, Thailand, possibly Myanmar, and India, and then thought I could perhaps spend a couple of days in Cambodia as well - but I wasn't too sure about it. I've seen travel videos up the wazoo, but you did such a great job on this one, Ethan, that you've pretty much convinced me to include Cambodia in my travels next year. Cambodia looks like a wonderful place. Politics and history are one thing, but it's the people that truly make up a country. Thanks so much for making and sharing this and your other videos; in educating yourself about the world around you, you are also helping to educate the rest of us, and I - for one - am very grateful for that
That's WAY too many designations for your first trip, imo, unless you're visiting for a year or two. I'd do them over time in this order: 1) Thailand 2) Vietnam 3) Cambodia 4) Myanmar 5) Lao. Then the rest (China, India, etc). If you are in fact taking a year or more to do this (that's what I did), then enjoy..it will change your life.
Wow Myanmar? Good luck man that'll be really a challenging trip considering how dire the situation in there with civil war happened in some regions of Myanmar.
come to Cambodia will not be wasting your time. You will meet great people with indigenous culture and world heritage temples and you will experience new things with the way people here live.
Fascinating video. It's so sad to think that so many years after the civil war and genocide in Cambodia that the people are still trying to recover what was lost. Your grass roots videos are entertaining for sure, but for me, very educational too. Thank you.
Indeed, there are thousands of temples in Cambodia alone. Siem Reip is not the only place that has temples, in fact there are thousands of them in nearly all provinces of Cambodia excluding its former empire Thailand, Loa and South Viet Nam. Most big temples are located in Siem Reip, Banteay Meanchey, Odor Meanchey and Preah Vihear provinces. Most visitors only visit the temples in Siem Reip because they are well known and easy to excess. Cheers!
I go to Cambodia every year in the summer, and I remember that spot where you had to get off at near the bride/mini hill. Later that night when i was there i went there again to watch Khmer dancers, dance at the temple.
Oh yes, the landscape looks like Bali. The way how the people dress up traditionally reminds me of Bali, Indonesia. There was an ancient kingdom there called Champa, which was still related to ancient kingdoms in Indonesia.
Yes, a Champa kingdom but unfortunately it was taken over and absorbed into current Vietnam. It is in the central part of Vietnam that you can still see architectural structures, temples and such while driving a long HWY 1 around Phan Thiet, Phan Rang areas. It was believed that Champa started out by people who migrated from Indonesia.
Thanks for visiting us ^^ we hope you have nice experiences here in Cambodia >< sorry if Cambodian disrespected you in anyway, but thank you for respecting our culture and our people.
I went to Cambodia with my family when I was 17, We went to Siem Reap/the Angkors and Phnom Penh. It was incredible and very moving at the same time, especially seeing sites related to the Pol Pot genocide in and round Phnom Penh.
I have been to Cambodia three times (retired in Thailand btw) People always go to Siem Reap but think there is nothing in the capital city of Phnom Penh. I found the old historical city along the river easy to get around by foot and plenty of locally owned restaurants to rry out. The easy going nature and gentle mannerisms of the Cambodian people remind me of the Thais before mass tourism made many Thais lose their "Thainess" .
probably the best video in my country I've seen so far. I'm currently studying abroad and this video surely making me feel closer to my hometown. I miss it so much
Beware those monkeys at Angkor Wat! Best not to bring food with you, to visit the temples. I brought a bag of bananas and this monkey attacked me, bearing its teeth and clawing at me. I dropped my bag immediately and said, "All you buddy!" 🤣 Our tour group all had a laugh, but I'd hate to imagine what it would have done to me if I had resisted and tried to keep my bananas. It was still coming after me, snarling even after I dropped the bag, then it turned around, snatched it's loot and took off. Be ye warned! 🤣
