The #Swan371 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with teak wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig, a raked stem, a raised reverse transom, an internally mounted spade-type rudder controlled by a wheel and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 16,100 lb (7,303 kg) and carries 5,700 lb (2,585 kg) of lead ballast.[1][4]
The boat has a draft of 6.80 ft (2.07 m) with the standard keel fitted.[1]
The boat is fitted with a British Bukh diesel engine of 20 hp (15 kW). The fuel tank holds 37 U.S. gallons (140 L; 31 imp gal) and the fresh water tank has a capacity of 66 U.S. gallons (250 L; 55 imp gal).[1][4]
The accommodations consist of a large master cabin. The forward cabin is the sail locker and also has two pipe berths. There are two berths in the transom and one or optionally two, pilot berths, plus a single and a double quarter berth. The main cabin features a drop-leaf table that can be removed and stowed for more space. The head includes a hand-held shower and a skylight. The galley includes an ice chest that can also be optionally electrically refrigerated. The navigation station is located opposite the galley and has under-table chart stowage space provided. Ventilation is provided by one hatch of the foredeck, two main cabin ports that open, and an opening port from the cockpit. Liferaft stowage is also provided on deck. All woodwork above and below decks is made from teak.[4]
Equipment includes two halyard winches on the coach house roof, two genoa sheet winches on the cockpit coaming, plus two additional winches for spinnaker sheeting. The genoa tracks are inboard. An additional deck eye is provided for a staysail.[4]
The design has a PHRF racing average handicap of 120 with a high of 132 and low of 114. It has a hull speed of 7.31 kn (13.54 km/h).[5] Спорт

Wonderful boat, the first Swan I was invited to sail on. Not very fast but a real ship.
This is the same boat i have in Norway, and it is the best blue water cruiser i can think of.
All the Swans are well built and go go go

Baltic 42DP or 43 JV i looked at a 371 before i bought my Baltic 37, it needed work but like you commented, its a swan and its bullet proof. German Frers are my favorites
You could do either John’s or mine. We both have Baltic 43s now. One of the true classics of the mid 80s

A beautiful boat...in need of some serious intervention before she passes the point of no return. Love teak, but those decks need continuous maintenance to ensure that they survive.

I recently purchased a 371 swan and, after navigating and enjoying how she felt, I noticed that the cap shrouds were sitting aft on the chainplate of the intermediate shrouds, giving me a different feel than I am used to, CAP shrouds FWD and intermediate seated AFT.
I’ve been struggling to figure it out with the swan boys here where I live in Spain and thought about writing directly to you. It would be a great pleasure to know if this is the original configuration or if it has been changed by the previous owner or rigger by accident.

Maybe you have to be old to like it, but that looks so so weird compared to new boats and no one I know wants a mono boat. Catamarans are in and these old wood things look like a nightmare of hassle and trouble.

I believe the Bukh engine is made in Denmark and is not British. There is a reason you will find them in many lifeboats. (but hopefully you aren't buying this boat for the engine!)
you are indeed correct Sir. Most Swan owners have replaced their original Bukhs with something with more horse power since Swans are heavy boats. I have a 40hp Solè engine in my Swan 371
This swan has a yanmar 3gm30f.
With respect, unfortunately your comments are not completely accurate. Original Swan 43’s (S&S magnificent designed) had extensive blistering issues and Nautor did not stand behind their work. They were exceptionally beautiful boats but the resins were not properly cured in a suitable warm environment.
