I haven’t thoughtfully purchased many candles but the way you describe these makes me wanna start lighting candles more often. Love hearing the recommendations and the distinct emotions they evoke for you. I can’t wait for a Fall/Winter version of this as well as more fragrance videos from you because you can genuinely feel how much passion you have. Candles are so much more than fragrance to me, they really do create or evoke memories
A kumquat is a small orange like citrus fruit that is sweet tart with a hint of lemon and pine scent.

They are rather delicious. They are a small enough fruit to pop the entire thing in your mouth at once. And the peel is sweet as the fruit is tart, kind of the opposite of an orange. Oh, and you eat the peel and all. Now I’m hungry.🫶🏼😃

Love the DEHV Blush candle - small business and smells absolutely heavenly! I usually gravitate towards fall scented candles as well but this one is still grounded while being fresh and floral. Northeast and their seasonal Yule candles are my all time favorite scents from their line!

I ordered D.S. & Durga's Debaser because of you as a birthday gift to myself and I can't WAIT. Also, if you enjoy podcasts, I feel like you'd LOVE Smell Ya Later. It's all about all different kinds of fragrances (candles, perfumes, etc.) and the hosts are both beauty editors/writers. And they're both hilarious. It's not just dry personality-less info.

DS & Durga’s Bergamot Superior is my absolute fave - and as someone who grew up in Toronto and spending summers on freshwater lakes, I can confirm that it really captures the notes of lakeside air, and takes me there. It’s the inland equivalent of a beach scent!
Ok gonna need that. Sometimes DS & Durga candles are a little too on the nose for me
- like concrete after lightning and portable fireplace smelled too real and not sophisticated enough, but that one sounds lovely!

This comments section is gold! Love hearing you describe scents… got the candle buying bug now. A couple of my faves right now are Night Space (refined scents in ceramic vessels) and Sunny Ruckus (small affordable soap/candle brand by RUclipsr Rie Bags!)

I liked this “home” themed style of video! Totally echo The New Savant… they are the only candle brand I buy from. I’m also loving their “Summer Splendor” which smells like an olivey-pear scent to me… and I despise olives.

I'm burning "Carnival" by Blue Moon & Bay, a local candle company in Nova Scotia. It's "spun sugar, sweet vanilla & stawberry". YUM!!

Okay, I am saving pretty much this entire list and will be on a mission to smell them in person. These sound like great recommendations! I don't love super-intense scents and lately I have been enjoying the Boy Smells line, specifically Gardener, LES and Cameo. I also recently picked up the Voluspa Moroccan Mint Tea but haven't burned it yet... but it smells amazing in the jar!

@@StateofKait I am always drawn to tea-scented candles but they often have a funky note that doesn't agree with me, like too tobacco-ey or sometimes an artificial sweetener smell? This one is very yummy mint/pleasant herbal (I'm burning it now). I'm a bit congested but it doesn't seem to be projecting the scent very far. I'll give it some time!
Great recommendations, will have to try some of these! I like the "Calm" candle scent from Aluminate Life. "Delicate chamomile, floral howood, and grounding sage oils promote peace of mind and serenity." It's not too overpowering and I find it earthy, grounding, and herbal.

I DO have a candle suggestion! M. Greengrass Manhattan Beach. File this one under Fresh. I have the dry oil spray as well and I just can't get enough of either.

I love candles too...thanks for this informative video! I'd love to see another video on this subject when Fall/Winter rolls around. My favorite of the Sweetwater brand candles is "Relaxation"...it just smells like a high-end, organic, spa. Have you checked out any of the Bijou candle scents? Would love to hear your thoughts (Coven range is my favorite)...

Have you tried Summer Splendor from the New Savant? I love it so much and I’m sad it’s LE- I’m hoping they bring it back next summer. It’s absolutely mouthwatering with a good throw that isn’t headache-inducing. The main notes I get are the white wine, salty green olives, and bergamot. It so nice

@@StateofKait totally get it! A lot of people love the Mixed Feelings candle, and while I appreciate the uniqueness, it has kind of an old lady smell to me lol. Absolutely love Androgyne and The Usual too
I highly recommend checking out Kobo Candles. They have a line with fully recyclable glass vessels with a little metal lid - the glasses can be cleaned out for use as drinking glasses, and the metal lids are super handy as plant drip trays - and their scents are incredibly unique. They’re a small business based in New York, and I’ve always found their customer service to be excellent. Some of my favorites are Kyoto Quince, Himalayan Red Spruce, Midnight Marrakesh, and Violette Noir. Obviously scent is so personal, but their products are so thoughtful and lovely. They even sell some where the packaging is laced with seeds for the scent - like grass, or thyme- and the packaging is meant to be planted! I just really love them and want other people to enjoy them, too.
