I have an Ichimatsu hoodie that I wear to cons and such, one day it was cold out and my regular hoods were in the wash so I wore that one to school. I wasn't expecting much, but boy was I wrong. I met a girl in gym class that day who approached me complimenting my hood, she said ichimatsu was her favorite and I told her karamatsu was mine. It then went on to her describing all her favorite ships, which seemed tame at first with ships like chibita/karamatsu until she told me she love love loved ichikara. I told her I only saw ichi and kara as brothers, however she told me that I must ship ichikara because I'm dressed in an ichi hoodie and I like karamatsu. Long story short this girl kept following me around until the end of class and I made sure to never wear that hood in gym ever again as to avoid her telling me all about her BL.
I didn't know much about the anime but one of my friend passed me the red hoodie, I wore it and some girls kept giggling. And I'm sure they followed me to my locker because they putted some (red hoodie guy x blue hoodie guy) porn of the show. I was truly disgusted. I am a fudanshi (but I do not fetishize it only like it) I still hated child porn that was disgusting. I told my friend and she said she got a few pictures too but never porn. I first found out about Osomatsu earlier in June when I went to Japan it was HUGE over there, when I came back I decided to order myself an Ichimatsu sweater cause I honestly fell in love with the show I had to go back to my old school because I was going to theatre rehearsals, I saw an old friend and when she saw my sweater she just screamed and kept on telling me about how she wanted two of the brothers (I forgot which ones) to fuck and oh my God I have never felt so uncomfortable in my entire life
when the osomatsu-san shipping fandom went viral in japan, I was very disappointed. For those who may not know, Osomatsu-san is a reboot of a popular anime in the Showa era, and they changed everything with the characters, especially their personality. I would agree that the creators made a genius move to not make a bland reboot and instead invite modern audiences. But thinking how gullible fujoshis lowered the bar by incest-shipping family friendly characters form our grandparents' generation, was a pain.

Yes, ugh, that must have been so awkward. I didn't knew anything about Osomatsu-kun before Osomatsu-san came out so i didn't felt any type of whisplash, obviously, but I can only imagine how awkward and disappointing it must have been for most people that grew up with Osomatsu-kun. I may love Osomatsu-san even if it sometimes the series in itself seems to want to cater to their fujoshi audience with barely disguised incest jokes, but I can totally understand how infuriating that could be to people who grew up with Osomatsu-kun.
I never interacted much with this fandom. Just reblogged gifs and fanart back in the day. But todomatsu was my ultimate fave and while I understand why people might not like him, his character did not deserve the horrible hate it got. And I feel really bad that people have been harassed for liking him since he’s a character I can kind of relate to too. I never saw as much hate for choromatsu but that’s probably because I didn’t watch osomatsu when the fandom was at its peak.

Osomatsu-san has a bad fandom. This fandom is about as shitty as the NEETS themselves and the show knows it. In fact the first half of the first episode of the season 2 extensively makes fun of that. It's huge too. it was rated one of the top ten anime of all time in Japan by vote of popularity.

The shit fandom you mentioned are the one who's willing to pay big money for the BL stuffs. Without them this show would never be top 10, and would never sell so well. It's the same with FREE fanbase. We have to THANK those fujushi to make the show able to continue and be successful.
It'd be "kinda popular" without the Fujoshi fandom, like 5k~8k sales like MOST semi-popular shows. It'd NEVER be like 50k sales, which is a near impossible standard for 98% of the shows nowaday. To put you into perspective, Attack On Titan season 2 only manage to sell out 8k in its second season. Popularity won't always help the company because it's just popularity, not revenue. Like Kekagurui is popular? It sold around 1k BD unit and would NEVER get a season 2 because of it. And it's not even the BL stuffs, I'm talking about the BD sales itself which Fujushi is willing to pay because of it. Here's some statistic: The over-hyped anime in U.S.: My Hero Acadamia anime only sold around 2k~3k each season, while Osamatsu-san's fujoshi contributes to 50K sales when it comes to BD sales. We have to THANK THEM for the show able to continue. They're willing to spend big money on stuffs like these, while the more casual fan-base does not bother to spend a single penny in anime most of the time. Like these casuals said how much they love MHA but they'd still never buy its Anime anyway. For Fujoshi, it's a different story. Yuri on Ice? Osamatsu-san? Side-M? Touken Ranbu? Free? It's a MUST-BUY for them just for the BL.

I only started watching Osomatsu-san a few weeks ago, and I'm already in love with the fast-paced humor, the unexpected moments of drama, and the over-the-top characters. Though it may be an unpopular opinion, Choromatsu is my favorite, followed closely by Jyushimatsu and Karamatsu in no particular order. I should have fucking known that a good show would have a shit fan base. Try looking up one character, I dare you. Sometimes you don't even have to scroll down the page to find incest, and it's disheartening. It can be difficult to separate the shit I've accidentally subjected myself to and the actual anime, but now that I've been burned, I know to avoid the fire as much as I can. Even worse, this already happened to me several years ago when I watched Gravity Falls. It took two losses of innocence to get it through my thick skull, but now I know the golden rule: if it's a decent show with siblings, run the fuck away and enjoy your interests by yourself.

I literally LOVE Osomatsu-san and it's one of my favorite anime shows. I decided to join this fangroup to meet other fans and was bombarded with BLmatsu and an elaborate contest in which fanfictions were a category. There were a ridiculous amount of weird shipping in almost every entry. Needless to say, I left that community pretty quickly.
Yeah, there are a lot of blmatsu fics out there, but there are some female whether it be oc or otherwise shipped with matsus. Lol I'm actually writing one right now. I guess because it's one of those fandoms where I feel the need to redeem the fan fiction at least. And also because Choromatsu is adorable and needs more love.
I really like Choromatsu as a character. I would reblog art that other people drew and the stuff people would say to me was just awful because I liked Choromatsu. This didn't me from still being apart of the fandom for I've dealt with worse. If you're apart of this fandom then you'll know what I'm talking about, Karamatsu Girls. I have had some of the worse experiences with the fan girls of Karamatsu, otherwise known as Karamatsu girls. Karamatsu girls go beyond the line, to the point of worshiping him like a God. Plus, if these girls find out you don't like him like me, they will witch hunt you a lot of the time conceiving you to like him. My most worst experience was in the IchiKara or KaraIchi pairing fanbase. In that group they use the argument that episode 16 makes it canon. Not at all I explained it like this "Karamatsu didn't purposely trip to fall on Ichimatsu. Karamatsu had no intent on falling onto Ichimatsu for it was an accident, and for Osomatsu to walk in on them was for comedy relief . If any were to think they were romantically involved it was Osomatsu because he didn't understand the context of what happened unlike you the viewer. And right after that Karamatsu was seen screaming "Its not what it looks like" obviously disgusted and embarrassed by the idea that his older brother saw what happened". They called me every name in the book and threaten to have all my social media deleted. Those are just 3 of my worst stories but I've met very nice people in the fanbase so they make up for everything that happened to me.

I remember a year ago I was so obsessed with this show, and the fandom is the worst on tumblr imo. It's no secret that the osmt characters aren't saints, they do some awful shit, but I don't think that makes the show bad, it's fiction so you can get away with having lowlife characters and still entertaining an audience. However, there is some people I've seen who outright disregard the canon character's traits and instead claim things out of nowhere (like claiming a character is gay, has ptsd, etc.) in order to defend the Matsunos as good people. These people confuse me so much because like the whole concept of the anime is that they're jobless, lazy, assholes who live with their parents. They're not intended to be rolemodels or anything. Like, they have endearing moments and all but still lol it ain't that deep of a show.
Osomatsu san used to be enjoyable but after todokaras drama everything went bad; I think she is one of the top reasons why the Osomatsu san fandom is pretty much dead compared to how it used to be. It's really sad since the fandom was full of good artists, etc, now a lot of people is actually afraid of doing any type of content of the show.

Last summer at a convention, I was cosplaying at Ichimatsu. I didn't have a whole lot of money to work with so my cosplay was pretty thrifty at best. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of asking an osomatsu-san group for a picture, because they began to insult my cosplay and calling me 'not shittymatsu, just shit'. It was kinda creepy how they were 'conveniently' in the same area I was, and at one point one of the cosplayers slapped my ice cream out of my hand. I wish I had reported them, but I was too scared. Spent most of the remainder of the day in the area with the parents.
Man I remember joining this fandom back in 2016 and being somewhat active until 2018 and revisiting it again about three years later when the dub was finally released. I will never forget stumbling upon that KaraIchi mpreg blog on Tumblr 😭

And eventually all the brothers got together (OsoChoro and JyushiTodo) I checked if the blog was still up and active a couple years ago only to find out it was deactivated. Some reblogs of the ask blog still exist and I’m pretty sure you can easily find images of it on Google….
I just hate when i finally find a good anime/show and it has a good fandom, people is nice, obviously there's people shipping characters (like me). And then i find a video saying the same thing of every show: *"This show has the WORST fandom of all"* This has been bothering for a while and i just can't find any other comment about it.
It just means that you've been lucky for most of your time in the fandom. I have had the same, positive experience for both supposed "uber-terrible" fandoms that I have had been arse-deep into (Hetalia in its mid-late prime years + this fandom), though that's the result of being a lurker, not having any friends/acquaintances in the fandom, and simply following drama-free blogs, so your mileage may vary.

I didn't know about Todokara (I mean the person, not the ship), but it didn't susprise me at all because that practice is very common in Tumblr and has started to migrate to Twitter because it's basically the same people but in their Twitter accounts. In Tumblr you would continuously see various users e-begging using PayPal, either offering crap commissions or just plain offering nothing. They sometimes would talk about how unprivileged they are (because in Tumblr it's all about the privilege) and talk sap stories including key words thatd would make Tumblr people feel sad, effectively manipulating them (and I think you say probably say anything and con this people, I don't know why, but people from this site are very gullible, just look for example on how the "Tumblr Convention Dashcon" was made). I'm always suspicious of these kind of people because they almost always say "we were evicted, we don't have anything to eat, we are super poor and we need urgent money", but they casually have enough money to have their PayPal/Debit Cards running to receive donations.

For those who don't what it is, it is a bunch of horror stories, legends or images that have been copy and pasted around the internet. And from what I've heard, I think the fandom was at a point bad, well, not as bad as the Sonic fandom can get from time to time. Or maybe even the Sonic fandom, mainly because there are more bad sides of the fandom than the Creepypasta fandom, I believe.

I really do enjoy osomatsu San Taking it seriously was never the shows intention It’s just a fun lovely comedy with over the top humor that I super enjoy And in some cases it’s hard for people to realize that there is more than just osomatsu san (coming from a person that does osomatsu san reactions) I want people to recognize other things I do and I feel like when they don’t they never know the true me I do recommend this show to anyone who needs a good laugh and to find good kind people to talk to, but you have to realize that it’s just a goofy comedy and fighting over the dumbest of things isn’t going to get anyone anywhere
Oh my god this fandom. Whenever the brother's have screen time with each other one on one, everyone assumes it's because they're into each other. Of course it's an anime and there's obviously GOING to be fan service, so I can't really blame it all on them entirely. But some of the people that ship them in my opinion greatly influenced how the show currently is. The show is supposed to focus on comedy and how shitty the brothers are, and if you've seen any of the recent promotional stuff, you can tell that the staff behind it is getting pulled into the "BL Matsu" craze thing. I really don't have a problem if people ship them, because they aren't real, but if it in any way affects the show itself, then that's when I'm going to get mad.

Osomatsu's fandom isns't that bad, I seriously don't see how you DIDN'T expect them to ship the brothers with how the internet is. For that matter, as a fan of this I can tell you the show is good despite this, and please don't let these chumps ruin it for you. Osomatsu-kun is a classic and timeless series and Akatsuka's works are some of the best stuff I've read. IIRC, Akatsuka always wanted a western audience. it's a SHAME that it's gotten this bad but it's not to late to fix it either, we're still not sonic fanbase tier. I hate the fact that infighting is gonna make spreading any of his works ten times harder because of this stupid civil war styled foolishness. I don't know why people are shipping characters when the real show has not begun yet, everything from the beginning is told by adult Izuku telling his young life and we don't even know how is as an adult yet. As a manga reader no lovey dovey stuff has happened so far besides Ochako and Izuku like.... I have no problem with shipping characters together but it's getting out of control and some ships makes no sense. I have a feeling in season 3 they are going to ship Todoroki and Dabi or something, I don't want them going out of control...

Yeah the Rwby fandom is pretty bad. I get shamed for shipping a straight ship, it's kind of sad people obsess over ships instead of the other cool parts of the show like the characters, weapons, action and story. Instead they start a ship war. At least in Osomatsu-San I'm not punished for not shipping any of the Brothers I just watch the show to laugh.
No point in taking a ship to the extreme. I understand liking two characters being together, but it's never going to be cannon. Just enjoy the show, make fan art and be happy. Though, RT likes to feed the flames. I think the Bmblb song was the most fuel they could have added to any ship that doesn't and won't ever exist. I never watched Osomatsu-san so I don't have any experiences with it or even know what it's about. One poor fandom I got to avoid for once? Even though all fandoms have bad grapes that sour the bunch.
Do you know the worst part? RT knows this. They know. And they drive it to the ground instead of focusing on the issues the show has(or had. I dropped it mid V4 because......really what's the point). They also cannot handle criticism it seems because oh boy, the subreddit was gold. But really, the main issue comes down to the fact that people ship instead of focusing on the thing that makes RWBY, RWBY. The.......uh..........really cool action scenes from V1 through V3(kinda sorta)
They have to notice. I still watch, but there is just some much this volume that hurts. The show was never perfect to begin with, but a lot things that if they would think through some things it would be more ideal. Overall the fights have went down in quality and the pretty graphics won't ever make up for it. And I just get yelled at by fans that I need to "move forward" and "at least they kept the show going". As if I only have criticisms because Monty is no longer there. Which then leads to arguing, and then I get lumped into the "toxic fandom" box too and the cycle continues forever until people find a new fandom to obsess over. For harem anime shipping is fine because that is basically the entire point of the show. Other anime have plots and don't solely focus on relationships. Which is why I avoid most subreddits, and forums.
i actually have a story to share for when i was in the osomatsu san fandom okay so, when i was in the fandom i always wanted to find someone else who liked it ykno? so i joined a group related to osomatsu san, greeted by a bunch of cool people who also really liked the anime and i felt really good in there until later one person from in that group privately messaged me. she just came to talk about how she liked my icon/profile picture (it was karamatsu) and how she looooved karamatsu so much. and im like, oh great and didn't think much of it. she then began to spam me and asked if i rped, and i did but i never exactly rped osomatsu san characters which made her go, "its okay!! just be karamatsu and ill be ichimatsu" and i was like... nah since im not into blmatsu or anything like that (ye she did mention that she liked blmatsu and that her otp was ichikara). then she suddenly stopped messaging me, and so i also didn't think much of that until i started getting SO MANY private messages of like death threats n shit like that from people that i didnt even know... i was so confused, until i found out they were talking about *her* so i thought, did she literally send a bunch of her friends on me just because i didnt wanna roleplay with her? yes. i know this isnt that bad of a story, but i just wanted to share it :P
It’s not a horror story but a happy story! (You might need one of these.) I was at the super small con that my town was putting on and I was wearing a kinda obscure cosplay. (I was Arale from Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball.) This guy wearing an Osomatsu San sweat shirt actually knew who my character was and complimented on my cosplay. Considering the fact that only me, my twin sister and my two friends knew who I was cosplaying I think that’s considered to be a “happy” story.
I'm writting my story (more detailed now) in a separate comment since I don't wanna make it too long: I used to work in a help blog for one of the OsoSan games, said blog was in Tumblr (not going to mention which Blog because I would prefer to have some privacy), and I remember that for the sake of shenanigans and having fun, we left some mods form a different OsoSan help blog join our blog for a few days (it was a sideblog). Within this people we invited, though, there was this delusional individual, a Karamatsu-obsessive (which don't have a good name in this fandom, btw), and said person, despite me thinking that we were friends, started acting very passive-aggressively and avoiding me everywhere after this one time I said that Karamatsu was my least favorite Matsu (Todomatsu is my most favorite, we have similar personality traits). The thing is, that in a matter of weeks they dragged me into drama. The help blog I helped running ended up being deleted because of this delusional individual sending their friends to harrass us (also with them harrassing us both in Discord and inside that blog, because we couldn't kick them out unless they did it voluntarily), and I ended up isolating myself from the general fandom (whatever it is the main fandom tags on Tumblr or any Discord servers) because I had people I thought and trusted as friends spying on me and then shittalking about me with the individual that started all of this. And all because I said that Karamatsu was my least favorite Matsu and was open about my opinions. Honestly, I'm doing better now, no drama has happened to me since and I have a small group that dislike this fandom as much as I do within my OsoSan RP blog. Now I'm having fun, I met wonderful individuals in the OsoSan fandom and some people have grown to like me so? Happy ending for me? Never say that you don't like Karamatsu, tho', people can't really afford to disagree with you.png

The fandom ruins a really good show. Me and my husband love it, at first he was put off by my obsession with it and took a lot of time to watch it. Then he absolutely loved it. Buut then, I searched for fanart and was baffled. I see the brothers as what they are: brothers. So I understood why he was put off. The fujoshi are aggresive and if you disagree with them, you will get hell. Loving the series, can't wait for s3, but I dread the resurgence of its fandom. It kind of destroys what the anime is about: a bunch of losers who troll each other.

Im kinda the same as you: I never knew much about Osamatsu-San, but not once did I think it would get a big fandom. This show always came across a chill, funny classic show that normal people would enjoy. But I guess that's what happens when Tumblr gets its hands on anything. Tumblr seems to be the common denominator amongst these fandoms.
I used to ship blmatsu lol and now I think is kinda awkward but still love their brotherly interactions and their dynamics like jyushi and Ichi, the emo and the hyped one lol, etc... I've seen both sides: there were antis that would make blogs exclusively to hunt down and harass blmatsu fanartists and also antis making blogs focusing on sharing non blmatsu arts or listing down great artist that didn't draw blmatsu (which I found it was a good idea) in the blmatsu blogs case, I knew many artists I used to follow that got harassed and also met blogs that were like a blmatsu safe place, sharing a block list of users that would hunt down other shippers so we could avoid them etc etc... It was an endless argument between "if you ship this you are that" etc etc or "you're fanarts are making survivors of abusive etctect triggered" c'mon it's a cartoon?! It's pretty sad all this happened bc ppl just wanted to have fun? tbh many fanartists didn't want to hurt anyone with their arts, they are free to draw whatever they want, but they were perfectly clear that all was fictional, for example, if you are a writer and you make a story about idk a demon doesn't mean that you are satanic?? (it's a pretty extreme example but you get my point lol, what defines who you are you values and ideals and how you portray those in the things you make) I think both parties had their mistakes: antis shouldn't harass others and shippers should have tagged things properly (example: the name of shipping and not a main tag like the same of the show itself) many non blmatsu shippers said that as a solution to avoid that and not many blmatsu artists did it Ppl shipped the brothers simply because they are males and even some said that they don't see them as actual brothers because of how they treat each other... Mmmmm I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. Most antis are minors and/or abuse survivors. They typically stay in their own tags because engaging in this content is a priority. However, what happens is that the shippers lurk on their blogs and start fights with them. Going as far as sending death threats or even pornography. Its a cowardly act, and its even worst when you add the fact that these shippers are typically adults who do this to minors and/or abuse survivors. There are toxic antis but for the most part, antis would include them in blocklists as well because they don't tolerate that behavior. Unfortunately, I have yet to see the same occurrences happen with shippers. I don't know why, but shippers tend to let this stuff be and continue to paint antis as "horrible trolls with no lives" when in reality they are against a ship because of its abusive implications and thats all they discuss about in their own blogs. They rarely crosstag. In fact, as I'm researching this kind of stuff, the anti tag seems to be filled with shippers crosstagging. But when I go on the shippers tag, all they do is complain about the one anti that posted something on their tag. So your right, there is bad on both sides. But like you, I'm going to claim I'm being neutral on the subject when in reality its clear whose side I'm on

I'm SO glad a video was finally made on tots (stinky, todokaras, etc. tots was how i knew her) and i'm also so glad my testimony from KF made it in the vid. Having dealt with her scamming up close and personal it was easy to catch on to her bs, but a lot of friends i had lost a lot of money to her that they'll never get back. It's truly upsetting. Knowing her more personally on twitter was an experience i'll never forget. What you talked about in the vid was more big things she's done but the damage she's done to other people I've known (stealing large sums of money, sending entire groups of people after other people for disagreeing with her, so much more...) I moved on to other things. The way my brain works is that I can only focus on 1-2 fandoms at a time, while everything else gets shoved into the back of my mind... and I usually don't want to think about it when it goes there. Like, I was desperately trying to cling to this fandom that I had been in for 3-4 years since 2016. Yuri on Ice fandom deserves a Fandom Files episode! There was a lot of petty drama from Tumblrinas whining about some cheap Hallmark movie called "Love on Ice" supposedly ripping off YOI and ~whitewashing~ Victuuri when in reality, the movie and YOI had nothing in common aside from figure skating. That didn't stop them from making a petition to cancel the movie, I shit you not. It was hilarious. Anything with the badyoifics tumblr is also a shit show. Basically the mods are SJWs playing fandom police"and shaming Otayuri fans and anyone who dares to write ""problematic""/non-pure content in fics. For example, if you write a smut fic that features Yuuri wearing only an apron and fucking Victor, then you'll be shamed by the SJW mods for being "racist" and "homophobic"... somehow. I won't even get into full detail of last month's drama where some Russian Twitter fan spammed a MyReadingManga link to Kubo (the co-creator/head writer of the show) that included a guro/gang rape doujinshi featuring Victor, and demanded her to remove it. Not to mention people were harassing/sending death threats to the doujin artist.
Pam Pam yeah, most of the bad yoi fandom stuff was from people not even in the fandom or as they are called antis, and then the wars that would start like the "its just fanservice claims" or the "otayuri is pedophilia" claim. Also i still remember that whole hallmark debacle from the very beginning every other post on tumblr was about that stupid movie yeah people just made memes about how similar they were, but then there were the people that actually contacted kubo and hallmark to tell them about the similarites and get the movie cancelled. I was done finding the whole situation cringy in a funny way when hallmark actually responded to the accusations. That has to be one of the lowest points of the yoi fandom, right under it is the whole crunchyroll awards debacle which i think was just handled really poorly. Other than that the yoi fandom is most people enjoying cute art and fanfictions. ive been in the yoi fandom since the show came out and got to enjoy all the excitment (like episode 7) in real time, i have to say i havent let controversy, antis, and critics ruin my appreciation and like of the show and im very excited for the movie. Edit: i dont even like to think of that dumb doujin situation, i have to say some yoi fans are just too hardcore, its just a doujin if you dont like that kind of thing dont read it there were warnings, and if you read it out if curiosity and hated it (like me) just push it out of your mind and forget about it.
I left the fandom a few months after the show ended, but jesus christ hearing about all this drama makes me want to go back and rejoin it so I can witness the shitshow that seems to happen every now and then. My condolences to that poor doujinka.
tbh I'm quite glad to be deep into the ososan fandom right now. I was into it around season 1 but I was pretty different back then (most notably i had my own blmatsu ship hhhhhhh i wanna slap my past self) but now I'm involved in the fandom in a more genreal harmless way (i only once kinda jabbed at blmatsu and i got two salty shippers lmao) like I'm just overall happy about my "character development" of sorts
I just watch the show, buy merch, and enjoy content. I don't interact with the fandom at all. I can't imagine what will happen when the English dub releases. Literally spend 5 minutes on twitter find someone with a matsu as a icon and *boom* its full of nsfw and blmatsu. its annoying as hell. And the sad thing i feel like is its mostly the western fandom that ships the brothers the most. It makes me not want to draw or post fanart on tumblr or twitter because its full of incest shippers that depicts it as ship art. All i really hope Todokaras is in jail. They would ruin it even more with season 2 already running.
I am in the BLmatsu fandom and noup, is mostly the japanese fandom the ones who ship Blmatsu. But yes I do agree with you about all the fanart n stuff being mostly blmatsu and I really wish there was more fanart that they are bros or just other stuff. TBH I don't interact much anymore with the fandom because.... a lot of them are pretty special, specially the extreme blmatsu shippers and the antis. People should be pretty respectful but mostly na, they are not.

I knew stores sell doujins and blmatsu mangas at stores/cons. Also Japan has plenty anime with incest so it I guess its not really seen as weird or unusual there.

It's not Steven Universe's fandom of bullying an artist into a suicide attempt drawing a "fat" character (the first time we saw Rose she was pregnant and she was never in the sense fat. Rose was built like Jasper, who is the perfect Quartz) not fat. And my personal tale is I called the red-purple alien made of a red alien and a blue alien not black while being a black woman. Osomatsu fandom is so tame The people who like to ship will do it. They don't care and neither does the audience in Japan. Who also ship the brothers. Personally I only use the ship tags because I can find cute fanart of the brothers that can be seen as platonic. Plus they aren't real. And you don't have to join the fandom or just ignore the hardcore sexual shipping Edit: the creators play around with shipping too.

I have this story for the Osomatsu-san fandom which happened in Japan, and I believe it may on a whole new level of "Why the f**k would you do that"(well, it was for me.) In Japan, the most popular characters out of the Matsu brothers is Ichimatsu and Karamatsu, and as you probably know, their relationship is a bit... toxic with a edge of humor. Well, some people put two and two together and thus Ichikara became the most popular ship in the Japanese fandom. Anyways, this is how the story goes. Once upon a time, well a while back, The merch production cast in Japan created Osomatsu-san bed sheets and there was an issue with the bed sheet with Karamatsu and Ichimatsu, but it was revealed that the person responsible for the merch told the illustrator who designed the sheets to make Ichimatsu's eyes look to Karamatsu's eyes The person responsible was criticized for treating the merchant as if it were their own. Even worse, the person blamed the illustrator for this. They did apologize for this, but the fact that someone related to the production of merchant did something like this disgusted me. Unfortunately, this isn't the only case of people responsible for the creation of Osomatsu-san, and its worse for Pazu-Matsu san, a puzzle game based off of the anime. The app changed its icon to Karamatsu once, shamelessly showing their shameless bias for him. Even worse, someone tweeted on the official twitter, the motherf**king official twitter, that they ship Ichikara. There are other minor but still sinister acts by Pazu-Matsu such as: •The brothers wearing Karamatsu outfits but not vice versa. •Ichimatsu having a slight blush while wearing it •Basically a bias toward Karamatsu events in the game So you thought the fandom was bad? Well, the people responsible for it are bad as well! I'd be thankful if you even just read this!
As a person who has been in the fandom for a year a half, I can debunk and say which is true. (I'm in the Twitter part of the fandom). Not everyone in the fandom is against bl-matsu, or looking for fights against shippings or just appreciating them as brothers. This is mainly a tumblr problem, as I've rarely ever seen this happen in Twitter. As for oversexualizing the brothers or for the fandom being horndogs, I can confirm that this is true for the most part on Twitter. Not everyone is like this in the fandom, but the amount of thirst can sometimes be overwhelming lol. The fandom use to do it often until the Todokaras incident occurred, and then for the most part everyone kind of stopped the "thirst" for the brothers, or at least talking about it publicly. They don't want to be compared to Todokaras, as the majority of the fandom hates her and is disgusted by her. People who were friends with her beforehand didn't know what she was doing until she actually got in trouble. From what I heard, Todokaras got called by the police, and they checked her out, but didn't arrest her. Todokaras deleted her account and was never seen from the fandom again (thankfully). I'm completely open for questions about the fandom, as I also ship BL-matsu. :) I'll be happy to ask any questions. (Sorry if there was any wording mistakes)

Great explanation! I got attacked on Tumblr for liking a post but to be fair I didn't see the "DNI" so I just apologized and blocked. There's also a blog which lists which blogs are BLmatsu and which are BLmatsu-free which I think is useful. But sometimes as a BLmatsu fan I get nervous interacting with other accounts if they're not labeled because I might want to like/share their content but unsure if they'll check my account and block. On Instagram I could save and not like (I usually try to message and ask) but Tumblr is different. It's pretty crazy.

As a person part of this fandom these words have never been more true. I've never seen so much discourse and chaos on tumblr that I unfollowed almost every Osomatsu blog. I do admit that I was a huge BLmatsu shipper (still kind of but not as much, brotherly love is my favorite now) but I never talked about it with anyone who didn't ship it. I have never seen an episode of the show, and I found a... Kara/Ichi? Is that right? I found some mpreg pairing ask blog of this pairing? I thought it was weird, and very implausible, but it was admittedly cutely drawn and it was clear the content creator was doing it for the art and how much they liked the pairing... So I’ve been a part of this fandom for a while, and for the most part it’s just been fun and games. But one time, I mentioned that I liked Todomatsu a bit more than the others, and all these Kara and Ichi fans totally blew up and started insulting me personally because apparently “Todomatsu is pink Satan”. They’d tell me that I was trash and that I should just kill myself because if I liked people like Todomatsu, then I’m just as bad. The reason I liked him was because I could relate to him on a personal level, and they didn’t let me explain that I liked most of the others too. I eventually just started dreading being on my phone, which used to be my safe haven, but because of them I didn’t know what to do. It was so stressful and emotionally draining. They did eventually get bored of me after a few weeks, and they’re pretty much gone now. I’m still part of the fandom, but that was definitely the worst encounter I’ve ever had.
Yup, this is what us Todomatsu fans have to go through, Todo is the least popular within the fandom because of how misunderstood he is and his costant demonization coming from the generla fandom. Glad to know I'm not the only down-to-earth Todo fan around here. ♥

I have an Ichimatsu hoodie that I wear to cons and such, one day it was cold out and my regular hoods were in the wash so I wore that one to school. I wasn't expecting much, but boy was I wrong. I met a girl in gym class that day who approached me complimenting my hood, she said ichimatsu was her favorite and I told her karamatsu was mine. It then went on to her describing all her favorite ships, which seemed tame at first with ships like chibita/karamatsu until she told me she love love loved ichikara. I told her I only saw ichi and kara as brothers, however she told me that I must ship ichikara because I'm dressed in an ichi hoodie and I like karamatsu. Long story short this girl kept following me around until the end of class and I made sure to never wear that hood in gym ever again as to avoid her telling me all about her BL.

I first found out about Osomatsu earlier in June when I went to Japan it was HUGE over there, when I came back I decided to order myself an Ichimatsu sweater cause I honestly fell in love with the show
I had to go back to my old school because I was going to theatre rehearsals, I saw an old friend and when she saw my sweater she just screamed and kept on telling me about how she wanted two of the brothers (I forgot which ones) to fuck and oh my God I have never felt so uncomfortable in my entire life

when the osomatsu-san shipping fandom went viral in japan, I was very disappointed. For those who may not know, Osomatsu-san is a reboot of a popular anime in the Showa era, and they changed everything with the characters, especially their personality. I would agree that the creators made a genius move to not make a bland reboot and instead invite modern audiences. But thinking how gullible fujoshis lowered the bar by incest-shipping family friendly characters form our grandparents' generation, was a pain.

Yes, ugh, that must have been so awkward. I didn't knew anything about Osomatsu-kun before Osomatsu-san came out so i didn't felt any type of whisplash, obviously, but I can only imagine how awkward and disappointing it must have been for most people that grew up with Osomatsu-kun. I may love Osomatsu-san even if it sometimes the series in itself seems to want to cater to their fujoshi audience with barely disguised incest jokes, but I can totally understand how infuriating that could be to people who grew up with Osomatsu-kun.

But todomatsu was my ultimate fave and while I understand why people might not like him, his character did not deserve the horrible hate it got. And I feel really bad that people have been harassed for liking him since he’s a character I can kind of relate to too. I never saw as much hate for choromatsu but that’s probably because I didn’t watch osomatsu when the fandom was at its peak.

Osomatsu-san has a bad fandom. This fandom is about as shitty as the NEETS themselves and the show knows it. In fact the first half of the first episode of the season 2 extensively makes fun of that. It's huge too. it was rated one of the top ten anime of all time in Japan by vote of popularity.

They're willing to spend big money on stuffs like these, while the more casual fan-base does not bother to spend a single penny in anime most of the time. Like these casuals said how much they love MHA but they'd still never buy its Anime anyway.

I only started watching Osomatsu-san a few weeks ago, and I'm already in love with the fast-paced humor, the unexpected moments of drama, and the over-the-top characters. Though it may be an unpopular opinion, Choromatsu is my favorite, followed closely by Jyushimatsu and Karamatsu in no particular order. I should have fucking known that a good show would have a shit fan base. Try looking up one character, I dare you. Sometimes you don't even have to scroll down the page to find incest, and it's disheartening. It can be difficult to separate the shit I've accidentally subjected myself to and the actual anime, but now that I've been burned, I know to avoid the fire as much as I can. Even worse, this already happened to me several years ago when I watched Gravity Falls. It took two losses of innocence to get it through my thick skull, but now I know the golden rule: if it's a decent show with siblings, run the fuck away and enjoy your interests by yourself.

I decided to join this fangroup to meet other fans and was bombarded with BLmatsu and an elaborate contest in which fanfictions were a category. There were a ridiculous amount of weird shipping in almost every entry. Needless to say, I left that community pretty quickly.

I really like Choromatsu as a character. I would reblog art that other people drew and the stuff people would say to me was just awful because I liked Choromatsu. This didn't me from still being apart of the fandom for I've dealt with worse. If you're apart of this fandom then you'll know what I'm talking about, Karamatsu Girls. I have had some of the worse experiences with the fan girls of Karamatsu, otherwise known as Karamatsu girls. Karamatsu girls go beyond the line, to the point of worshiping him like a God. Plus, if these girls find out you don't like him like me, they will witch hunt you a lot of the time conceiving you to like him. My most worst experience was in the IchiKara or KaraIchi pairing fanbase. In that group they use the argument that episode 16 makes it canon. Not at all I explained it like this "Karamatsu didn't purposely trip to fall on Ichimatsu. Karamatsu had no intent on falling onto Ichimatsu for it was an accident, and for Osomatsu to walk in on them was for comedy relief . If any were to think they were romantically involved it was Osomatsu because he didn't understand the context of what happened unlike you the viewer. And right after that Karamatsu was seen screaming "Its not what it looks like" obviously disgusted and embarrassed by the idea that his older brother saw what happened". They called me every name in the book and threaten to have all my social media deleted. Those are just 3 of my worst stories but I've met very nice people in the fanbase so they make up for everything that happened to me.

I remember a year ago I was so obsessed with this show, and the fandom is the worst on tumblr imo. It's no secret that the osmt characters aren't saints, they do some awful shit, but I don't think that makes the show bad, it's fiction so you can get away with having lowlife characters and still entertaining an audience. However, there is some people I've seen who outright disregard the canon character's traits and instead claim things out of nowhere (like claiming a character is gay, has ptsd, etc.) in order to defend the Matsunos as good people. These people confuse me so much because like the whole concept of the anime is that they're jobless, lazy, assholes who live with their parents. They're not intended to be rolemodels or anything. Like, they have endearing moments and all but still lol it ain't that deep of a show.

Osomatsu san used to be enjoyable but after todokaras drama everything went bad; I think she is one of the top reasons why the Osomatsu san fandom is pretty much dead compared to how it used to be. It's really sad since the fandom was full of good artists, etc, now a lot of people is actually afraid of doing any type of content of the show.

Last summer at a convention, I was cosplaying at Ichimatsu. I didn't have a whole lot of money to work with so my cosplay was pretty thrifty at best. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of asking an osomatsu-san group for a picture, because they began to insult my cosplay and calling me 'not shittymatsu, just shit'.
It was kinda creepy how they were 'conveniently' in the same area I was, and at one point one of the cosplayers slapped my ice cream out of my hand.
I wish I had reported them, but I was too scared. Spent most of the remainder of the day in the area with the parents.

I have had the same, positive experience for both supposed "uber-terrible" fandoms that I have had been arse-deep into (Hetalia in its mid-late prime years + this fandom), though that's the result of being a lurker, not having any friends/acquaintances in the fandom, and simply following drama-free blogs, so your mileage may vary.

I didn't know about Todokara (I mean the person, not the ship), but it didn't susprise me at all because that practice is very common in Tumblr and has started to migrate to Twitter because it's basically the same people but in their Twitter accounts.
In Tumblr you would continuously see various users e-begging using PayPal, either offering crap commissions or just plain offering nothing. They sometimes would talk about how unprivileged they are (because in Tumblr it's all about the privilege) and talk sap stories including key words thatd
would make Tumblr people feel sad, effectively manipulating them (and I think you say probably say anything and con this people, I don't know why, but people from this site are very gullible, just look for example on how the "Tumblr Convention Dashcon" was made).
I'm always suspicious of these kind of people because they almost always say "we were evicted, we don't have anything to eat, we are super poor and we need urgent money", but they casually have enough money to have their PayPal/Debit Cards running to receive donations.

For those who don't what it is, it is a bunch of horror stories, legends or images that have been copy and pasted around the internet. And from what I've heard, I think the fandom was at a point bad, well, not as bad as the Sonic fandom can get from time to time. Or maybe even the Sonic fandom, mainly because there are more bad sides of the fandom than the Creepypasta fandom, I believe.

Oh my god this fandom. Whenever the brother's have screen time with each other one on one, everyone assumes it's because they're into each other. Of course it's an anime and there's obviously GOING to be fan service, so I can't really blame it all on them entirely. But some of the people that ship them in my opinion greatly influenced how the show currently is. The show is supposed to focus on comedy and how shitty the brothers are, and if you've seen any of the recent promotional stuff, you can tell that the staff behind it is getting pulled into the "BL Matsu" craze thing. I really don't have a problem if people ship them, because they aren't real, but if it in any way affects the show itself, then that's when I'm going to get mad.

Osomatsu's fandom isns't that bad, I seriously don't see how you DIDN'T expect them to ship the brothers with how the internet is. Osomatsu-kun is a classic and timeless series and Akatsuka's works are some of the best stuff I've read. IIRC, Akatsuka always wanted a western audience. it's a SHAME that it's gotten this bad but it's not to late to fix it either, we're still not sonic fanbase tier. I hate the fact that infighting is gonna make spreading any of his works ten times harder because of this stupid civil war styled foolishness. I don't know why people are shipping characters when the real show has not begun yet, everything from the beginning is told by adult Izuku telling his young life and we don't even know how is as an adult yet. I have no problem with shipping characters together but it's getting out of control and some ships makes no sense. I have a feeling in season 3 they are going to ship Todoroki and Dabi or something, I don't want them going out of control...

Yeah the Rwby fandom is pretty bad. I get shamed for shipping a straight ship, it's kind of sad people obsess over ships instead of the other cool parts of the show like the characters, weapons, action and story. Instead they start a ship war. At least in Osomatsu-San I'm not punished for not shipping any of the Brothers I just watch the show to laugh.
No point in taking a ship to the extreme. I understand liking two characters being together, but it's never going to be cannon. Just enjoy the show, make fan art and be happy. Though, RT likes to feed the flames. I think the Bmblb song was the most fuel they could have added to any ship that doesn't and won't ever exist.
I never watched Osomatsu-san so I don't have any experiences with it or even know what it's about. One poor fandom I got to avoid for once? Even though all fandoms have bad grapes that sour the bunch.
Do you know the worst part? RT knows this. They know. And they drive it to the ground instead of focusing on the issues the show has(or had. I dropped it mid V4 because......really what's the point).
They also cannot handle criticism it seems because oh boy, the subreddit was gold. But really, the main issue comes down to the fact that people ship instead of focusing on the thing that makes RWBY, RWBY. The.......uh..........really cool action scenes from V1 through V3(kinda sorta)
They have to notice. I still watch, but there is just some much this volume that hurts. The show was never perfect to begin with, but a lot things that if they would think through some things it would be more ideal. Overall the fights have went down in quality and the pretty graphics won't ever make up for it. And I just get yelled at by fans that I need to "move forward" and "at least they kept the show going". As if I only have criticisms because Monty is no longer there. Which then leads to arguing, and then I get lumped into the "toxic fandom" box too and the cycle continues forever until people find a new fandom to obsess over.
For harem anime shipping is fine because that is basically the entire point of the show. Other anime have plots and don't solely focus on relationships. Which is why I avoid most subreddits, and forums.

okay so, when i was in the fandom i always wanted to find someone else who liked it ykno? so i joined a group related to osomatsu san, greeted by a bunch of cool people who also really liked the anime and i felt really good in there until later one person from in that group privately messaged me. she just came to talk about how she liked my icon/profile picture (it was karamatsu) and how she looooved karamatsu so much. and im like, oh great and didn't think much of it. she then began to spam me and asked if i rped, and i did but i never exactly rped osomatsu san characters which made her go, "its okay!! just be karamatsu and ill be ichimatsu" and i was like... nah since im not into blmatsu or anything like that (ye she did mention that she liked blmatsu and that her otp was ichikara). then she suddenly stopped messaging me, and so i also didn't think much of that until i started getting SO MANY private messages of like death threats n shit like that from people that i didnt even know... i was so confused, until i found out they were talking about *her* so i thought, did she literally send a bunch of her friends on me just because i didnt wanna roleplay with her? yes.

It’s not a horror story but a happy story! (You might need one of these.) I was at the super small con that my town was putting on and I was wearing a kinda obscure cosplay. (I was Arale from Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball.) This guy wearing an Osomatsu San sweat shirt actually knew who my character was and complimented on my cosplay. I'm writting my story (more detailed now) in a separate comment since I don't wanna make it too long:
I used to work in a help blog for one of the OsoSan games, said blog was in Tumblr (not going to mention which Blog because I would prefer to have some privacy), and I remember that for the sake of shenanigans and having fun, we left some mods form a different OsoSan help blog join our blog for a few days (it was a sideblog).
Within this people we invited, though, there was this delusional individual, a Karamatsu-obsessive (which don't have a good name in this fandom, btw), and said person, despite me thinking that we were friends, started acting very passive-aggressively and avoiding me everywhere after this one time I said that Karamatsu was my least favorite Matsu (Todomatsu is my most favorite, we have similar personality traits).
The thing is, that in a matter of weeks they dragged me into drama. The help blog I helped running ended up being deleted because of this delusional individual sending their friends to harrass us (also with them harrassing us both in Discord and inside that blog, because we couldn't kick them out unless they did it voluntarily), and I ended up isolating myself from the general fandom (whatever it is the main fandom tags on Tumblr or any Discord servers) because I had people I thought and trusted as friends spying on me and then shittalking about me with the individual that started all of this.
And all because I said that Karamatsu was my least favorite Matsu and was open about my opinions.
Honestly, I'm doing better now, no drama has happened to me since and I have a small group that dislike this fandom as much as I do within my OsoSan RP blog. Now I'm having fun, I met wonderful individuals in the OsoSan fandom and some people have grown to like me so? Happy ending for me?

The fandom ruins a really good show. Me and my husband love it, at first he was put off by my obsession with it and took a lot of time to watch it. Then he absolutely loved it. Buut then, I searched for fanart and was baffled. I see the brothers as what they are: brothers. So I understood why he was put off. The fujoshi are aggresive and if you disagree with them, you will get hell. Loving the series, can't wait for s3, but I dread the resurgence of its fandom. It kind of destroys what the anime is about: a bunch of losers who troll each other.

I've seen both sides: there were antis that would make blogs exclusively to hunt down and harass blmatsu fanartists and also antis making blogs focusing on sharing non blmatsu arts or listing down great artist that didn't draw blmatsu (which I found it was a good idea) in the blmatsu blogs case, I knew many artists I used to follow that got harassed and also met blogs that were like a blmatsu safe place, sharing a block list of users that would hunt down other shippers so we could avoid them etc etc... It was an endless argument between "if you ship this you are that" etc etc or "you're fanarts are making survivors of abusive etctect triggered" c'mon it's a cartoon?! It's pretty sad all this happened bc ppl just wanted to have fun?
tbh many fanartists didn't want to hurt anyone with their arts, they are free to draw whatever they want, but they were perfectly clear that all was fictional, for example, if you are a writer and you make a story about idk a demon doesn't mean that you are satanic?? (it's a pretty extreme example but you get my point lol, what defines who you are you values and ideals and how you portray those in the things you make)

Mmmmm I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. Most antis are minors and/or abuse survivors. They typically stay in their own tags because engaging in this content is a priority. However, what happens is that the shippers lurk on their blogs and start fights with them. Going as far as sending death threats or even pornography. Its a cowardly act, and its even worst when you add the fact that these shippers are typically adults who do this to minors and/or abuse survivors.
There are toxic antis but for the most part, antis would include them in blocklists as well because they don't tolerate that behavior. Unfortunately, I have yet to see the same occurrences happen with shippers. I don't know why, but shippers tend to let this stuff be and continue to paint antis as "horrible trolls with no lives" when in reality they are against a ship because of its abusive implications and thats all they discuss about in their own blogs. They rarely crosstag. In fact, as I'm researching this kind of stuff, the anti tag seems to be filled with shippers crosstagging. But when I go on the shippers tag, all they do is complain about the one anti that posted something on their tag. So your right, there is bad on both sides. But like you, I'm going to claim I'm being neutral on the subject when in reality its clear whose side I'm on

I'm SO glad a video was finally made on tots (stinky, todokaras, etc. tots was how i knew her) and i'm also so glad my testimony from KF made it in the vid. Having dealt with her scamming up close and personal it was easy to catch on to her bs, but a lot of friends i had lost a lot of money to her that they'll never get back. It's truly upsetting. Knowing her more personally on twitter was an experience i'll never forget. What you talked about in the vid was more big things she's done but the damage she's done to other people I've known (stealing large sums of money, sending entire groups of people after other people for disagreeing with her, so much more...) Some more things she's done: Gotten both her and her roommate fired from the target they worked at and never told anyone publicly why, saying it was "too personal" (in the end it was revealed by a coworker of hers that she stole giftcards. lmao) In the end, Stinky is just a raging sociopath who left a huge scar on a good fandom and i'll never forget it.

Got into the fandom recently, it’s kinda dead nowadays lol it’s fair that u can’t see yourself getting back into it after all the drama that happened w the fandom during its heydays, its pretty mellowed now from what I have seen, so I’m pretty glad that I missed all that drama and now am in a smaller but nice oso san community on tiktok

It has nothing to do with the fandom itself (but then again being on Tumblr at that time had been draining for me) - I simply lost interest over time. I moved on to other things. The way my brain works is that I can only focus on 1-2 fandoms at a time, while everything else gets shoved into the back of my mind... and I usually don't want to think about it when it goes there.
Like, I was desperately trying to cling to this fandom that I had been in for 3-4 years since 2016. But it reached a point where I just had to accept that I just wasn't invested anymore :'(
But in some way or another, those 6 same sh*theads (affectionate) will always have a special place in my heart 🥺

Yuri on Ice fandom deserves a Fandom Files episode! There was a lot of petty drama from Tumblrinas whining about some cheap Hallmark movie called "Love on Ice" supposedly ripping off YOI and ~whitewashing~ Victuuri when in reality, the movie and YOI had nothing in common aside from figure skating. That didn't stop them from making a petition to cancel the movie, I shit you not. It was hilarious.
Anything with the badyoifics tumblr is also a shit show. Basically the mods are SJWs playing fandom police"and shaming Otayuri fans and anyone who dares to write ""problematic""/non-pure content in fics. For example, if you write a smut fic that features Yuuri wearing only an apron and fucking Victor, then you'll be shamed by the SJW mods for being "racist" and "homophobic"... somehow.
I won't even get into full detail of last month's drama where some Russian Twitter fan spammed a MyReadingManga link to Kubo (the co-creator/head writer of the show) that included a guro/gang rape doujinshi featuring Victor, and demanded her to remove it. Not to mention people were harassing/sending death threats to the doujin artist.
Pam Pam yeah, most of the bad yoi fandom stuff was from people not even in the fandom or as they are called antis, and then the wars that would start like the "its just fanservice claims" or the "otayuri is pedophilia" claim. Also i still remember that whole hallmark debacle from the very beginning every other post on tumblr was about that stupid movie yeah people just made memes about how similar they were, but then there were the people that actually contacted kubo and hallmark to tell them about the similarites and get the movie cancelled. I was done finding the whole situation cringy in a funny way when hallmark actually responded to the accusations. That has to be one of the lowest points of the yoi fandom, right under it is the whole crunchyroll awards debacle which i think was just handled really poorly. Other than that the yoi fandom is most people enjoying cute art and fanfictions. ive been in the yoi fandom since the show came out and got to enjoy all the excitment (like episode 7) in real time, i have to say i havent let controversy, antis, and critics ruin my appreciation and like of the show and im very excited for the movie.
Edit: i dont even like to think of that dumb doujin situation, i have to say some yoi fans are just too hardcore, its just a doujin if you dont like that kind of thing dont read it there were warnings, and if you read it out if curiosity and hated it (like me) just push it out of your mind and forget about it.
I left the fandom a few months after the show ended, but jesus christ hearing about all this drama makes me want to go back and rejoin it so I can witness the shitshow that seems to happen every now and then. My condolences to that poor doujinka.
tbh I'm quite glad to be deep into the ososan fandom right now. I was into it around season 1 but I was pretty different back then (most notably i had my own blmatsu ship hhhhhhh i wanna slap my past self) but now I'm involved in the fandom in a more genreal harmless way (i only once kinda jabbed at blmatsu and i got two salty shippers lmao) like I'm just overall happy about my "character development" of sorts

I just watch the show, buy merch, and enjoy content. I don't interact with the fandom at all. I can't imagine what will happen when the English dub releases. Literally spend 5 minutes on twitter find someone with a matsu as a icon and *boom* its full of nsfw and blmatsu. its annoying as hell. And the sad thing i feel like is its mostly the western fandom that ships the brothers the most. It makes me not want to draw or post fanart on tumblr or twitter because its full of incest shippers that depicts it as ship art. All i really hope Todokaras is in jail. They would ruin it even more with season 2 already running.

I am in the BLmatsu fandom and noup, is mostly the japanese fandom the ones who ship Blmatsu. But yes I do agree with you about all the fanart n stuff being mostly blmatsu and I really wish there was more fanart that they are bros or just other stuff. TBH I don't interact much anymore with the fandom because.... a lot of them are pretty special, specially the extreme blmatsu shippers and the antis. People should be pretty respectful but mostly na, they are not.
Dinnylirium thank you for the explanation. I don't really look for matsu related stuff in Japanese media to much so I didn't know it was that bad, though I am not surprised. I knew stores sell doujins and blmatsu mangas at stores/cons. Also Japan has plenty anime with incest so it I guess its not really seen as weird or unusual there.

As someone from inside the fandom, this gave me sustenance!! A lot of us are super chill, but so many people are just really angry and creepy??? Everyone needs to just mind their business and enjoy themselves without fucking over others.
Here on latinamerica the earthbound got one of the worsts fandoms, since undertale appeared the MOTHER fans started to criticise the anything the undertale fandom likes, if you make an OC, fanfic, even fanarts about shippings or jokes started to get coments with messages like "stop making us to look like a the undertale fandom You underfag"

However, having recently gotten into the fandom I did not know about todokara and this frightens me so much. People like them should be policed and restricted.

This is just a normal fandom. It's not Steven Universe's fandom of bullying an artist into a suicide attempt drawing a "fat" character (the first time we saw Rose she was pregnant and she was never in the sense fat. Rose was built like Jasper, who is the perfect Quartz) not fat. And my personal tale is I called the red-purple alien made of a red alien and a blue alien not black while being a black woman. Osomatsu fandom is so tame The people who like to ship will do it. They don't care and neither does the audience in Japan. Who also ship the brothers. Personally I only use the ship tags because I can find cute fanart of the brothers that can be seen as platonic. Plus they aren't real. And you don't have to join the fandom or just ignore the hardcore sexual shipping

Hello! I enjoy your videos, especially the fandom horror stories! I have this story for the Osomatsu-san fandom which happened in Japan, and I believe it may on a whole new level of "Why the f**k would you do that"(well, it was for me.)
In Japan, the most popular characters out of the Matsu brothers is Ichimatsu and Karamatsu, and as you probably know, their relationship is a bit... toxic with a edge of humor. Well, some people put two and two together and thus Ichikara became the most popular ship in the Japanese fandom.
Anyways, this is how the story goes. Once upon a time, well a while back, The merch production cast in Japan created Osomatsu-san bed sheets and there was an issue with the bed sheet with Karamatsu and Ichimatsu, but it was revealed that the person responsible for the merch told the illustrator who designed the sheets to make Ichimatsu's eyes look to Karamatsu's eyes The person responsible was criticized for treating the merchant as if it were their own. Even worse, the person blamed the illustrator for this. They did apologize for this, but the fact that someone related to the production of merchant did something like this disgusted me.
Unfortunately, this isn't the only case of people responsible for the creation of Osomatsu-san, and its worse for Pazu-Matsu san, a puzzle game based off of the anime.
The app changed its icon to Karamatsu once, shamelessly showing their shameless bias for him. Even worse, someone tweeted on the official twitter, the motherf**king official twitter, that they ship Ichikara. There are other minor but still sinister acts by Pazu-Matsu such as:
•The brothers wearing Karamatsu outfits but not vice versa.
•Ichimatsu having a slight blush while wearing it
•Basically a bias toward Karamatsu events in the game
So you thought the fandom was bad? Well, the people responsible for it are bad as well! I'd be thankful if you even just read this!

I'm in the fandom of Osomatsu-san and I'm a BL Matsu shipper, but boi I'm not like those ppl at all, I really got disgusted by those ppl.
As a person who has been in the fandom for a year a half, I can debunk and say which is true. (I'm in the Twitter part of the fandom).
Not everyone in the fandom is against bl-matsu, or looking for fights against shippings or just appreciating them as brothers. This is mainly a tumblr problem, as I've rarely ever seen this happen in Twitter.
As for oversexualizing the brothers or for the fandom being horndogs, I can confirm that this is true for the most part on Twitter. Not everyone is like this in the fandom, but the amount of thirst can sometimes be overwhelming lol. The fandom use to do it often until the Todokaras incident occurred, and then for the most part everyone kind of stopped the "thirst" for the brothers, or at least talking about it publicly. They don't want to be compared to Todokaras, as the majority of the fandom hates her and is disgusted by her. People who were friends with her beforehand didn't know what she was doing until she actually got in trouble. From what I heard, Todokaras got called by the police, and they checked her out, but didn't arrest her. Todokaras deleted her account and was never seen from the fandom again (thankfully).

My question is it true that the blmatsus are not a majority that it was ? I mean years ago i was a blmatsu shipper too but then it just started to dont like me lol. I got attacked on Tumblr for liking a post but to be fair I didn't see the "DNI" so I just apologized and blocked. There's also a blog which lists which blogs are BLmatsu and which are BLmatsu-free which I think is useful. But sometimes as a BLmatsu fan I get nervous interacting with other accounts if they're not labeled because I might want to like/share their content but unsure if they'll check my account and block. On Instagram I could save and not like (I usually try to message and ask) but Tumblr is different. It's pretty crazy.

As a person part of this fandom these words have never been more true. I've never seen so much discourse and chaos on tumblr that I unfollowed almost every Osomatsu blog. I do admit that I was a huge BLmatsu shipper (still kind of but not as much, brotherly love is my favorite now) but I never talked about it with anyone who didn't ship it. I kept my opinions to myself even with people who did like BLmatsu (because there would always be ship wars ugh). I haven't been up to date since season 2 started so I don't know what's going on but I hope it's more settled now... So I’ve been a part of this fandom for a while, and for the most part it’s just been fun and games. But one time, I mentioned that I liked Todomatsu a bit more than the others, and all these Kara and Ichi fans totally blew up and started insulting me personally because apparently “Todomatsu is pink Satan”. They’d tell me that I was trash and that I should just kill myself because if I liked people like Todomatsu, then I’m just as bad. The reason I liked him was because I could relate to him on a personal level, and they didn’t let me explain that I liked most of the others too. I eventually just started dreading being on my phone, which used to be my safe haven, but because of them I didn’t know what to do. It was so stressful and emotionally draining. They did eventually get bored of me after a few weeks, and they’re pretty much gone now. I’m still part of the fandom, but that was definitely the worst encounter I’ve ever had.
Yup, this is what us Todomatsu fans have to go through, Todo is the least popular within the fandom because of how misunderstood he is and his costant demonization coming from the generla fandom. Glad to know I'm not the only down-to-earth Todo fan around here. ♥
