I love a lot of romance stories and even though I dont really care whether they're gay or straight. I've been leaning towards gay Because I find a lot of the time the female leads are lacking. I especially like action movies and things like that, but I always find the females a stereotypical character portrayed over and over again- kind of like a katniss syndrome. Not just in anime, but a lot of the typical movies and shows out there. Is that a problem anyone else has? I just want a female lead that cracks actual funny jokes, including dirty ones and go through a lot of character development

She let's everything happen to her and never takes the lead, and that isn't my cup of tea so that's why I've been leaning more to yaoi or Yuri. That's why I loved the Killing Stalking fangame so much. (spoiler for those who care) No matter what choice you pick, even if you choose to flirt with him and compliment him you'll end up dead. True.. tbh though I found Yuri on Ice a terrible snooze-fest and incredibly light on the romantic interactions. It was more heavy on the "sports" aspect. IMO Killing Stalking is a far more interesting entertainment experience - but its just got more intriguing aspects to it. Not because of the gay stuff either. Its a good horror/mystery.

I’m seeing a lot of comments about “I just read Killing Stalking and I’m freaking out!!” Seriously, don’t read it if you can’t handle the content. Just don’t. It’s a psychological horror with graphic depictions of murder and sexual violence. It’s not something to read just because people are talking about it in videos like this- read the warnings for gods sake. Even the author doesn’t want it classified as a “romance”. She’s pretty open about the content and her intentions. It was written as a horror story, not a love story. Unfortunately the rabid fujoshi are demanding a happy ending for a pair of heavily damaged people who obviously aren’t going to get married and be normal ever.
Yeah, thank god they didn't stay together. I'm really happy that Koogi gave her story the ending it deserved instead of the one the most confusing corner of the fandom wanted.

Honestly I like killing stalking. It's not because I'm into yaoi but it's because it made me uncomfortable. It was created to depict what it was like to be abused repeatedly. We see both sides in the narrative and the story telling is nicely done in a brutally good way. This story isn't meant to make your heart flutter, it was made to to make your skin crawl. Tbh I dont understand how some fujoshis fangirl over the "romance" between sangwoo and bum. It wasn't meant to be a cheesy romance, the author is giving us a glimpse of what it was like to be stuck inside a psychological limbo.

I don't consider myself to be in the fandom, because it's extremely toxic. I started reading killing stalking because one of my friends told me how the psychological aspects in Sangwoo's and Yoonbum's relationship was intresting. I think that the story makes it clear how their relationship is not at all healthy, so I don't know what creates such a toxic fanbase.

I first read Killing Stalking when it wasn't very popular yet and I remember being shocked and appalled by the violence, abuse, rape and psychological terror - yet I was really intrigued by the story itself. Then the fujoshis came along and ruined the entire fandom. Instead of wondering how Yoon Bum will escape they are now talking about how handsome Sangwoo is and they even demand from the artist that he gives those two a happy ending. At the moment, Sangwoo is getting really close to being caught so there is much anger from the fans thowards the artist. I just hope that the artist won't be pressured into changing the plot to please the fujoshis and protect himself from their aggression and anger. Killing Stalking is now in danger to becoming a bl-bait festival for the fujoshis like Yuri on Ice has been for a long time. At the moment I'm just scared that they will discover another anime / manga I really love and ruin it. It feels like trying to hide sugar cubes from a colony of aggressive ants. Not only do they completely destory the fandom but they are able to ruin the anime / manga itself.

The ending to season 2 made me EXTREMELY disappointed. I don’t understand why Koogi would end on a scene like that.. if anything, a better ending would’ve been Sangwoo “punishing” Yoonbum for being close to getting caught.. I felt like she just made them.. you know do that so she could please the fujoshis :P. I feel like giving up on Killing Stalking.

Sangwoo and Yoonbum was never meant to be shipped. The entire point is to show how an unhealthy relationship can ruin someone's life and of course, mental health. Like, literally, the only thing between Sangwoo and Yoonbum is lust, fear, and confusion. Oh, and insanity, of course. And instead of shipping them, we're supposed to be rooting for either Yoonbum to escape or for both of them to somehow get better through each other's company. Killing Stalking is like Yuri on Ice like that. Viktor showed Yuri love in many ways, as a friend, a coach, a father, and yes, a lover. And it helped Yuri's anxiety and self-esteem issues. This can also happen for Sangwoo and Yoonbum, but I highly doubt it. One of them will have to die. Because Sangwoo and Yoonbum's relationship is hellish and sickening. I mean sure Sangwoo is attractive. And they look cute together. I would ship them if they have a much better relationship. Both Yuri on Ice and Killing Stalking are very amazing, but is sadly underappreciated by the rabidly shipping fans. Sure, they love and appreciate but only a few can actually appreciate the true message of these two masterpieces. Sorta makes me think of that manga called Metamorphosis. It's a hentai I think, and it mostly focuses on the girl slowly turning more and more insane and losing herself to drugs and sex. Just a downwards spiral. Sickening and pitiful. Some might pass it off as some extreme fetish porn manga, not noticing that it's actually tackling a very sensitive topic.

I enjoy Killing Stalking for what it is, a psychological horror manga. It doesn't romantizise the violent scenes and the rape, it actually makes the scenes look as horrific as they truly are, yet there are still some fujoshis who see this as romantic? They even go as far and defend the serial killer Sangwoo because he looks good ( the same goes for Light Yagami) and say that he actually loves his victim, Yoon Bum, although he's clearly manipulating him. I guess another reason for why the KS fandom is filled with so much fujoshis, is that they want to look 'kinky' and 'edgy'. They call rape and gore scenes kinky and just bdsm, even though that's definiety not the case, because Rape doesn't equal Bdsm, which is based on consent. Then they come up with the 'argument', that the victim is still in love with him, so that's ok. No it's not, even if a person is in love with another person, if they say they don't want to have sex with their crush, it means no and if their crsuh still has sex with them, it's still rape. On top of that, the victim suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder and Stockholm Syndrom, which literally means they deny any abuse and even try to defend the abuser, in order to protect themself and even the abuser, since they started to symphatize with them. ( Seriously, look Stockholm Syndrom up) All in all, yes, KS has a gay protagonist, but does that make it a fetishized Yaoi/BL Manga? NO It's a psycho thriller, which revolves around murder, mental diseases & (child) abuse.

All of this. I like Killing Stalking, though I haven't caught up with the release, and when I went into a con earlier this year and noticed young people cosplaying it, I was a bit disturbed. I enjoy the violent, twisted tones of it, but in no way are they "romantic" or "cute". The whole story is fucked up and Sangwoo is fucked up and so is Bum. There's nothing wrong with liking that kind of stuff in fiction, or getting off on it, but it's really important to see that it's not healthy or "goals".
There is a difference between Light and Sangwoo. When you see things through Light's eyes you are thinking "This is good?" "This isn't good! It's still murder!" "But he saved so many people..." "But he ended up killing innocents" "Light is a hero!" "Light is a monster.". He makes you confused. He is the main character. You see his thoughts. His emotions. His journey from being a normal student that felt like the world is in chaos to becoming a psycho that believes he is god and can and will kill anybody in his path to purify the world. I don't have an actual argument with Sangwoo as I haven't read the comic (and I am not really planning at the moment) but from what I have seen he is a sociopath obsessed with having power over his victims and manipulating weak persons. Light was made to be a hero that ended up the villain. Sangwoo was made to be the main character that is evil. That you know he won't change. That would do anything to hurt anybody.
When someone says they like yaoi, thats all the solid evidence you need for spotting a fake fuckin' ally. i was at a con with a friend back in May. my friend was Yoonbum and i was Ciel phantomhive. im black, but i did not feel any shame in cosplaying a white character. at the con, two girls both dressed up as Sangwoo came to me and my friend and asked for pictures. we posed but one girl said that she did not want me in the picture bcuz i was not really Ciel bcuz im black. i told them that shouldnt matter that i was black but they started to yell at me about how i was being inappropriate and that i shoulnt talk back to them and one stomped up to me and grabbed my arm and began to drag me down. my friend tried to push her off and yelled for help until a love live cosplayer And a security officer pushed her off and dragged them away. i had marks on my arm and the nails drew a bit of my blood..
Just a btw the author of this clearly stated he didn't intend for this to be a romance. Though there is sexual content, his focus for the psychology aspect and the actual darkness of it all. The problem is this fandom drools over it purely as a desirable romance when it is purposely meant to be dark, graphic, and undesirable. And, yet, here we are.

The artstyle fits the subject (and is generally very eye-pleasing) and the plot is intriguing (at least for the first 10/15 chapters). When a new chapter is out I'd love to talk about this kind of stuff with other fans, but KS tags are always just filled with fujoshis and weird af roleplay blogs :/

As a closet fujoshi and killing stalking fan, I can tell you that I do NOT ship Sang Woo and Yun Bum and derive no pleasure from their "relationship". The only times I got excited were when Yun Bun was close to getting the hell out of there.

There’s a show called “Kiss Him Not Me” which is literally centred around a fujoshi main character. Honestly, it’s not a bad show, but I can only imagine how terrible the fandom is.

You mentioned Mystic Messenger but I actually haven't noticed a lot of Fujoshiis in the Mystic Messenger fandom. I've dubbed a shit load of the Mystic Messenger comics that are out there (somewhere between five hundred to a thousand of them) and I could probably count on just one hand the number of comics that legitimately shipped two dudes.

Facebook groups are pretty terrible too for Killing Stalking. I was an artist in the fanbase for a good few months and I had to completely remove myself from the fanbase because of how many people blindly idolised this fucking fictional serial killer. People fail to realise that Sangwoo has basically no redeeming qualities except for his looks. Even his past doesn’t make up for the crazy shit he does.

Sorry to burst your bubble ... but Yoonbum probably wouldn't have freedom or happy life, even if he escaped and Sangwoo was in jail ... Bum has Borderline Personality Disorder, was almost raped in the military, and pretty sure that even his past before that was tragic. If he gets free, somehow makes a medical recovery, his mind's already been shattered so many times I don't think he could live happily, even if he wanted to. Oh, also stalking & breaking and entering and oh murdering someone are all crimes, and if he gets out of a sentence due to mental illness, even after escaping Sangwoo he'll spend the rest of his life in a mental hospital in lieu of prison anyway.
I bet no one would be finding the situation romantic if Bum was a girl. BTW I love cute BL. Usually, I find yaoi stuff very...rapey, so, I prefer the adorable BL series like Yuri on Ice or Tight Rope. The Malec couple in Shadowhunters (not shumdario. I don't ship real life people, it's very odd for me). But Killing Stalking is not Boys Love or any kind of Love. It's a well written, beautifully drawn psychological horror thriller. Romance is absent in that series.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a giant fujoshi, but I hated that the "next big thing" was Killing Stalking. I loved how Yuri!!! On Ice portrayed such a healthy and positive homosexual relationship. How did we get from that to the abusive, manipulative, and horror centered "relationship" of Killing Stalking? I did read the manwa and I was basically appalled by the content, but the need to find out how the entire story played out kept me reading it. I was actually rooting for the police guy because I wanted both the main characters to get punished for their crimes. Yun Bum is a stalker who broke into someone's house and Sangwuu is a serial killer. But that's just my opinion.
Yuri on Ice & 10Dance are trying to make a broader appeal beyond target audiences by making the stories more realistic & slice of life with socio-political commentary instead of the default fetish fueled fantasy or a melodramatic soap opera. Yuri on Ice is the exception, not the norm. Series like Killing Stalking have been around for decades & are starting to pick up popularity over seas as a guilty pleasure. BL has always been strictly for women, while men's Bara actually has the exact same type of edgy line-crossing relationship dynamics, So does Yuri & Hentai.

Killing Stalking is a horror Manhwa not BL. BL Suggests romantic themes and plot points when it simply isn't. It has two guys that are involved sexually but it is not enough to label it as BL. It is meant to show what it's like to have someone that a person is obsessed with imprison them in result of their stalking and uncensored obsession. This is shows psychological states throughout and the reality of living in an abusive relationship, this is meant to show you the struggle of escaping an obsession and that no matter how bad it gets its a consistent cycle of pain and suffering. Not a romantic kidnapping scenario where they fall in love in the end
There needs to be more smart people like you in the world. I have two characters who are asexual, into both girls/guys/any gender, in a BDSM relationship and are indeed both guys and in a committed romantic relationship. But I'm afraid if I share them they'll be lumped in with Sangwoo and Yoonbum, despite the fact their relationship is actually loving and healthy (though they both are crazy, their partners in crime). Even more afraid they'd request me to draw them fucking when I make it clear that they're both asexual and don't find sex interesting in the slightest, but of course they can't wrap their head around the fact that two guys who love each other don't need to fuck to show it. (Plus my two characters are teens, so there's that.) And yeah, Killing Stalking is about psychological torment and physical abuse, I'm so tired of people trying to dumb it down into yet another shipping trend. I like it for the plot, not the sex. Also, THANK YOU. Sex does NOT equal love. Sex is lust. Which again, is why two people don't need to have sex to love and people don't have to love to have sex. Honestly, why is that so difficult to comprehend?

Sorry if my explanation came off as a bit ignorant, since I usually associate anyone who has no romantic attraction with "aro" or aromantic. I always felt "ace of hearts" fit them but I could be wrong. I meant no disrespect to the LGBT+ community. I completely forgot to include the part where they are confirmed panromantic and biromantic, so I guess it looked I messed up a little there, sorry. And thanks, I do believe most of my stories and characters are very maturely themed and gory. My other story deals a lot with the topic of abuse, suicide, self harm, homophobia,and even deformity. And I do plan to go into full detail with blood, wounds, and everything else since it's a psychological horror like Killing Stalking. But I know how sneaky teens are today and won't care if it has an 18+ rating, I know I'm eighteen myself. I know they'll ship the two male leads together (even if they are canon), and I think we all know how carried away they'll get with THAT instead of the darker themes going on. But yeah, I knew I wasn't aiming for a teen demographic exactly but I'm sure they'll probably pick it up anyways. Thanks for the advice though, means a lot coming from another writer. :3

I know what you mean, most of my cast of characters are male I don't have many female characters. We need a fandom files on the sonic fan base. It is just a giant mess. They all want different things for games, claiming they all know what they want for the games, confusing Sonic Team. Then when they release a game, they hate it(Unleashed). But usually after a couple years, they act as if they're that "small minority that likes that game". And when a game is received as good,(Generations/Colors) after a couple years, they end up hating it. What a dumpster fire.

Honestly, I enjoy the story from a psychological standpoint as seeing yoonbum’s descent into a twisted and dark relationship even though Sangwoo does these awful things. He is blinded by his lust for him and this makes him blind to what is going on. It’s not meant to be a good relationship. It’s supposed to be a tragic story about a twisted and abusive relationship.

So, here's my story. A good friend of mine has two dads. They adopted her when they where pretty young and are only in their late 30's. Anyways, she actually refuses to bring them if she's going to a con, or just to buy manga, because of a little incident that occured when we where all at a Japanese festival in southern California a couple years back. Soo... My friend and I where on vacation in Santa Monica to attend my brother's wedding (she and her parent are close family friends) anywho, my friend and I, along with her dads and my 3 year old nephew where at the festival, just ordering food and talking, when a girl dressed like Levi from AoT and another girl dressed like the black haired guy from killing stalking just sat down at the table we where at and said "holy crap the guys are holding hands! It's a Christmas miracle!" This was in May, btw... Anywhoo, they started asking my friends parents if they beat eachother, and when her parents just sat there trying to form words, one of the girls went straight to describing a REALLY messed up sexual scene in Killing Stalking and then begged them to try doing it. We tried to just get up and walk away, and the girls just continued to follow us. Eventually, they became angry that we where ignoring them and the Levi girl took off her belt and SMACKED ONE OF THE DADS ON THE ASS and demanded that they "spread the beauty" of Killing Stalking. My nephew was, of course, terrified and started crying and the girls ran away as someone with security approached us. Later on, in the parking lot, the Levi girl approached us again, TWO HOURS LATER, and threw a big sheet of paper with a drawing of my poor friends dads... Uhhh... Partaking in really graphic domestic abuse and some other X-Rated stuff was going down. Anyways, her parents just thought they where insane, and looked absolutely mortified when we explained that Killing Stalking was an actual thing and that those scenes occur in the webtoon. The two girls ended up getting taken away by the police. It was incredibly unnerving and my friend still feels like some crazy person is going to mess with her parents if they go to a con or event like that. Its really messed up when a couple can't even go out and have a normal evening because of people like that.

Well, this isn't exactly from the killing stalking fandom but rather from the yaoi fandom. While I was going through newly added yaoi manga on mangago I clicked on what seemed like another innocent manga. At the time I didn't realise what terrible mistake it was. After reading the 30 or so pages filled with painful, miserable rape I got to the comment section. I joined an argument as i saw someone getting attacked and insulted for pointing out that it's rape. One of the people attacking that person stated "he consented at first so it's wasn't rape" despite the fact that it was clearly a joke and he begged to stop through out the whole sex scene. Through out the whole argument the ignorant fan continued to insult me. In the end I told them to consider what consent really is because if someone says "no" or "stop", you don't just keep going. Edit: On additional note, I will only say this because I don't want anyone to get confused. The story seemed like another generic boring yaoi at first but... the rape scene seem like something you would see in real life. Honestly, anyone who survived something like that would need a therapist because they would want to just end it all. It was the most messed up thing I ever read. The rape was something a thousand times worst than what we saw in the warehouse, ks, Hogu Hagyeongsu or in any manga you could have ever read. Btw, some of the people from the comment section even emailed me in private about it because they didn't want to get verbally attached by that person telling me that they agree with me. I get why they didn't want to speak up - that person was just the worst most ignorant extreme fan I ever met.

egguy Rape is a common thing in Japanese hentai in general. So when you combine that trope with the fact these stories are written for women and thus need a loving relationship element... I fully admit to being a fujoshi. However, I see Killing Stalking as a horror story. The terrifying descent of a stalker turned captive into a clone of his captor. I am fully aware that the relationship between Sangwoo and Yoonbum is toxic at best. I still like the manhwa, however, as it is about something dark that happens in real life. People are kidnapped and experience horrors to the point of losing their minds. I don't like stories that ignore the dark truths of the world. Anyway, what was my point? Oh yeah. The fujoshi who think that Killing Stalking should be seen as a relationship goal or anything positive in the field of romance are truly delusional and they give other fujoshi (and otaku in general) a bad name.

I've watched any and every fan of Killing Stalking on Tumblr be attacked by 'antis' who seem bent on believing that even reading KS means that you're a homophobic, abusive, terrible monster who condones rape and abusive relationships. But the majority of the fandom that I've seen are well aware of the fact that the story is based around the horror aspect to it! The story might be categorized as BL, have sexually dubious scenes, and have two males who engage in certain things, but that does NOT mean that it is to be taken as a 'normal BL love story'. And not to mention, the creator herself stated in an interview that she never saw them as being a romantic pairing, but she is aware of the shipping surrounding her story and wants fans to enjoy as they see fit. With that said, I think the KS fandom is a victim of having a very vocal minority who overshadows the larger fanbase, who don't actually condone these acts and just want to see how the story will turn out. People should be allowed to enjoy whatever content they want, even if that content has intensely dark themes. It's HOW they enjoy that content that ultimately divides a fandom.

Really, you shouldn't take this as a normal BL story because it's awful if that the case. But honestly, making theories about the characters are great to read and I can appreciate the author admitting that the series is fucked up.

I like Killing Stalking because of its dark tone, the way it disturbed me in the first place. I truly don't understand how can someone see any type of romance in such an abusive relationship. When Sangwoo rapes Bum, that's a display of power... not affection. So. Uh. I don't get this at all. I didn't realize there were women out there who were into this sort of thing for... that reason.

Idk what story they were reading cause I read KS and it DEFINITELY does not have any romance, even the "sappy" scenes in the story were just manipulation tactics Sangwoo used to make sure Bum didn't try to leave him, the whole time I read through those parts of the story I was dreading for when things would inevitably get worse for Bum, and people need to get it in their heads that Sangwoo literally has no actual empathy for anyone whatsoever, he isn't capable of having any genuine feelings or relationships with anyone.

So there is this girl who goes to my school. She has a bad obsession with KS. She ships sang woo and yoonbum of course. I have had terrible experiences with this person. I have a shorter hair cut, which the first day she met me she said “omg you look like Levi from AOT.” I said yeah thanks??? And then a month later she says “omg you look like yoonbum!!” And I said okay?? Thanks?? The following weeks this 7th graders was hard core obsessed with me. Due to last abuse, I don’t like being touched. She still did it though, even after I asked her not to. Later on, I changed to my honors English class, causing me to have her in my PE class. I was a 8th grader at the time, but the classes were combined. Which meant I had to change in front of this girl, daily. One day she got asked me to be her “uke” And I told her that she was making me very much uncomfortable. She even cut her hair to match Sangwoos! I asked her to leave me alone but of course she didn’t. One day, I came in late and she sneaked into the locker room while I was changing. I was fed up. Personally I can see,and unfortunately kind of relate to them saying that sangwoo seems like an "instable prince charming" It's a thing that revolves around the concept of someone being willing to do something extreme,just to be with you. theyre INSANE but sometimes entertaining especially the bigger fandoms like exo-ls, armys, wannables, SONEs, etc. and, yes, most of those fandoms are boygroup fandoms. theyre made up of LOTS of obsessive, petty, deluded 14 yr olds. it'll be a fun video if he makes one on the big fandoms of kpop. oh, and sasaengs (fans who stalk their idols everywhere) exist, so yeah.
Not gonna lie, the plot to Killing Stalking is amazing. I would definitely recommend it, although it is not for the faint of heart. It's an extremely serious plot, and it's just sad how some people ignore that and focus on the "romance"... My OTP is totally Sang-Woo X Prison ❤
I read killing stalking out of curiousity, it's available on a pay-to-read manwha platform I use. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. It was... traumatic bc of some abuse in my past, but so are a lot of psych horror movies. But because of Sangwoo's and Yoonbum's pasts and their problems, I kept reading, largely hoping there would be some sort of resolution to everything that was triumphant (yoonbum escaping) or emotionally satisfying (sangwoo getting arrested/dying), but alas. In the hosting app I use to read it, the author has repeatedly stated she doesn't want it read as a romance, but then the app will do these special 'fan submission' updates where they show fans in yoonbum/sangwoo cosplay, or share cutesy domestic fanart, so the reading platform eggs that behavior on and it's unsettling af.

Yes. Bad fujoshis are the worst. But the thing with killing stalking is, complicated. While the couple is abuse (there is no argument there) it is seemingly sadomaso pandering. While they are not a bdsm couple, the manga is selling the fantasy. And it’s not the first time BL has done this, in fact there has there has been a spike in this type of BL recently. I would even argue that it could be more dangerous not to recognise killing stalking as a fetish manga. The worst part is that is popular, particularly around young people. Normally manga like this doesn’t get attention, because older people know the difference between fantasy and reality.

This isn’t Killing Stalking specific but a fujiyoshi story in general. My old best friend is the one who got me into anime, something I still enjoy to this day, but she shoved the fujiyoshi life style of shipping down my throat and when I had a ship that clashed with hers she would lash out. I started watching anime that she didn’t and getting ships that she didn’t but whenever I tried showing the content I created to her, as she had done to me many times, she would immediately hate it if it wasn’t gay. And whenever I would introduce her to an anime, she would tell me it was bad because there was no possible yoai ship. Well fast forward a couple years and I come out to her as bi and she was immediately disgusted with the prospect of me (a girl) being with another girl. She didn’t invite me to have sleepovers anymore because she thought I would make a move on her and would yell at me whenever I told her about my crush on a girl. It’s like when homophobic guys watch lesbian porn, you aren’t doing the LGBT community a favour by fetishizing gay people

I'd have to disagree with Yuri on Ice being 'ruined' by Fujoshis. It's widely considered a BL anime and considering that it's about a canon gay couple it pretty much earns its place in it. The annoying part of fujoshis (I'm speaking as one) is how much and how strongly they ship people. It could literally be people who hate each other (I'll get to that point later) or people who talk twice but for some reason on Tumblr there's fan art and fanfics of them having extensive relationships just because a fujoshi fancies them, and therefore fancies them together. In the case of YOI it is yes also a sports anime but lets be real, its a BL. It's VASTLY different from other BLs and yaois that fujoshi's like because it meets a lot of legal/moral requirements (consent, non-violent, reciprocated feelings, etc) There are a lot of tropes in yaoi and Bl and a huge part of that has to do with using violence and power to express 'love' at the same time romanticizing it for females. There are a lot of other tropes like effeminate males, projected gender roles, and other stereotypes I wont get into, but I'll just relay the ones that relate to Killing Stalking. I would say 90% of BL has a relationship starting off or in someway nonconsensual. A lot of yaoi is just sexual assault. How this is romantic idk, but it's what Fujoshis are born from and its hard to shake them of their ways. I HATE the fandom who cosplay Sang wo and Bum together or in general and the fanart that romanticize their relationship. But it's not uncommon in the genre. I've learned to separate Yaoi/BL from actual sexuality as well as shipping people I don't even do much. I'm a huge fan of True Crime stuff so I know to distance myself from interesting but bad characters like most people who are fans of Killing Stalking, but yeah I totally agree that the fandom is weird and I don't like seeing people express their fandom for the Manwa the way they do. But like I said before I am a fujoshi and I can't help but find the main characters very attractive in their own way haha. When I explain the comic to people I heavily warn them of it's content before even saying there's guy on guy kissing . Idk how the fuck people completely skip that step when telling them about Killing Stalking.
To be fair a lot of manga and anime with relationships start off as sexual assault or some other weird dynamic it isnt just the yaoi. A lot of stuff is also young teens with adults. but i think thats because Japan has different age of consent laws then western countries.
Technically Killing Stalking is a manwha from Korea, so there's probably different tropes and conventions that what we would see in Japanese manga. But on your point about manga, I agree those tropes don’t just appear in yaoi. It's also prominent in other media that depicts romantic relationships. You see this similar dynamic of abusive guys, who force themselves onto their romantic love interest, with their romantic interest always protesting the relationship in other genres. I think it may have something to do more with literary tropes of Japanese literature, that started in classics like the Tale of Genji and is probably why that theme pops up in so many media.

i hate that i saw a lot of people recommending killing stalking in the yuri on ice fandom. After reading up on it and the fandom by some other bloggers, i carefully sidestepped the dumpster fire.

If I say I like the little mermaid because of the cute love story, you're not gonna hear someone say "Oh well since you liked this straight couple you may also like this straight couple in this bondage film." That's a huge freaking jump to make and that's what some Yaoi fans do. "Since you like at least one Yaoi anime I recommend this rape fest one." It shows how much they fetishize it because they're solely interested in the boy on boy action. That's why they compare yuri on ice and KS. They don't care that the tones of the films are drastically different. They just see that sweet yaoi and figure that's all any yaoi fangirl wants.

I just read Killing Stalking, and I'm having a panic attack, how can people like this shit! Yeah, yeah, it's well written and all, but how do people like the characters, wish for them to get away with their crimes and be fine with the manipulation, the severe stockholm syndrome, the tremendous mental and physical abuse!? I can't, I've been feeling sick for the last 2 hours I spent reading that thing.
That's the whole psychological horror aspect of the thing. It's kinda of a doki doki literature club type thing both are equally fucked up but people enjoy that type of thrill and horror. But people really need to STOP ROMANRASIZING killing stalking
I have kind of been de-sensitized to this kind of genre. I enjoyed killing stalking as a horror and character study of a serial killer. It's an interesting take. Also, the art is really pretty. However, it's not the best thing I've ever read
When you consistently vote for RWBY because you know just how bad the bad portion of the fandom is/was since you used to be part of the tamer portion of it. EDIT: Something I forgot to state when making this post. The community as of recent has definitely gotten a lot better. My gripes are with the past,not the present. Not much discourse is really going on nowadays as I've seen,and from what I've heard,it's been few and far between. The community itself was never actually that terrible to begin with as well,it all was based on where you looked or who you talked to. That's basically any fandom in a nutshell though. And lastly,like RPG monger usually states,not everyone is like the vocal minority of people who get the majority condemned. I am still within the fandom,albeit very behind on the show. This is why I said I "used to be" instead of "I currently am." I don't consider myself fully in the fandom,more someone who just comes and goes as he pleases.

Bumblebee (Shipping the characters Yang and Blake) and White Rose (Weiss and Ruby.) Usually,the people who like these ships will get pissed if you say you don't like it or you don't think it will be canon. Imagine a rabid dog as their reaction,cause that's the amount of freakout they sometimes have. That and they tend to use "evidence" to be like "HAH,IT'S GONNA BE CANON" even though it's all an eye of the beholder type thing. Even worse,someone from the voice acting cast was attacked over clearing up confusion from a song called "BMBLB." Basically,people were freaking out like "OH MY GOD,THE SONG IS NAMED AFTER THE SHIP BUMBLEBEE,IT'S GONNA BE CANON! BLAKE AND YANG ARE GONNA GET TOGETHER,REEEEEEEEEEEEEE-." Arryn Zech from rooster teeth came and attempted to clear up the controversy,stating that: "I understand completely the importance of the (bumblebee emoji) within the community. That's why I want everyone to know that the song wasn't something myself or the crew knew about. If the song isn't directly in the show,it doesn't get consulted over. Jeff is an amazing musician and creates great work on his own. So,the song isn't a bait,it's a piece he wanted to share that isn't in the show." After she made that post,she began getting harassed by the community that she is basically the lifeblood of,being the voice actor of blake and even admitting she really liked the ship in question. Afterwards,she made this post: "I'm deleting the thread - I'm tired. I love the show & community,but I've put myself in the mix & I don't belong there. That's my mistake. I'm here because I love my job and telling other peoples stories. I forget what getting involved means sometimes. Night and love you x" If that's really not enough on the shipping side of things,I don't know what is.

I have a friend who reads ks and she talks about it constantly when we are talking about anime. Now don’t get me wrong, I like anime myself and I don’t mind a nice convo about it once and a while, even though it got really annoying after a while. At first it was fine considering I didn’t know what ks really was at the time, but then that changed when I found out what it was. And, not even a week ago I caught her *drawing ks bondage fan art between the two main characters* when I was scrolling through my Instagram feed. I know it may not seem like it to you because you're probably the same age, but she's really just a kid growing up, and people express themselves in different ways. From the point of view of an adult- this seems normal for someone her age. Pushing boundaries, perhaps being a little edgy, is pretty normal. Bondage nowadays is pretty tame to be honest, but non consensual relationships, straight or gay, are not something to put on a pedestal.

As someone who has read a lot of yaoi and yuri, it really disgusts me how some people seriously think that relationships like these are ok and alright in real life because, "It's gay so it's cute xd". Fetishizing gay relationships is disgusting and disrespectful. Know the damn line.

I love a lot of romance stories and even though I dont really care whether they're gay or straight. I've been leaning towards gay Because I find a lot of the time the female leads are lacking. I especially like action movies and things like that, but I always find the females a stereotypical character portrayed over and over again- kind of like a katniss syndrome. Not just in anime, but a lot of the typical movies and shows out there. Is that a problem anyone else has? I just want a female lead that cracks actual funny jokes, including dirty ones and go through a lot of character development

It’s a psychological horror with graphic depictions of murder and sexual violence. It’s not something to read just because people are talking about it in videos like this- read the warnings for gods sake. Even the author doesn’t want it classified as a “romance”. She’s pretty open about the content and her intentions. It was written as a horror story, not a love story. Unfortunately the rabid fujoshi are demanding a happy ending for a pair of heavily damaged people who obviously aren’t going to get married and be normal ever.

I first read Killing Stalking when it wasn't very popular yet and I remember being shocked and appalled by the violence, abuse, rape and psychological terror - yet I was really intrigued by the story itself.
Then the fujoshis came along and ruined the entire fandom. Instead of wondering how Yoon Bum will escape they are now talking about how handsome Sangwoo is and they even demand from the artist that he gives those two a happy ending.
At the moment, Sangwoo is getting really close to being caught so there is much anger from the fans thowards the artist.
I just hope that the artist won't be pressured into changing the plot to please the fujoshis and protect himself from their aggression and anger.

The entire point is to show how an unhealthy relationship can ruin someone's life and of course, mental health.
Like, literally, the only thing between Sangwoo and Yoonbum is lust, fear, and confusion. Oh, and insanity, of course. And instead of shipping them, we're supposed to be rooting for either Yoonbum to escape or for both of them to somehow get better through each other's company.
Killing Stalking is like Yuri on Ice like that. Viktor showed Yuri love in many ways, as a friend, a coach, a father, and yes, a lover. And it helped Yuri's anxiety and self-esteem issues.
This can also happen for Sangwoo and Yoonbum, but I highly doubt it. One of them will have to die. Because Sangwoo and Yoonbum's relationship is hellish and sickening.

I enjoy Killing Stalking for what it is, a psychological horror manga. It doesn't romantizise the violent scenes and the rape, it actually makes the scenes look as horrific as they truly are, yet there are still some fujoshis who see this as romantic?
They even go as far and defend the serial killer Sangwoo because he looks good ( the same goes for Light Yagami) and say that he actually loves his victim, Yoon Bum, although he's clearly manipulating him.
I guess another reason for why the KS fandom is filled with so much fujoshis, is that they want to look 'kinky' and 'edgy'. They call rape and gore scenes kinky and just bdsm, even though that's definiety not the case, because Rape doesn't equal Bdsm, which is based on consent. Then they come up with the 'argument', that the victim is still in love with him, so that's ok. No it's not, even if a person is in love with another person, if they say they don't want to have sex with their crush, it means no and if their crsuh still has sex with them, it's still rape.
On top of that, the victim suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder and Stockholm Syndrom, which literally means they deny any abuse and even try to defend the abuser, in order to protect themself and even the abuser, since they started to symphatize with them. ( Seriously, look Stockholm Syndrom up)
All in all, yes, KS has a gay protagonist, but does that make it a fetishized Yaoi/BL Manga? NO

All of this. I like Killing Stalking, though I haven't caught up with the release, and when I went into a con earlier this year and noticed young people cosplaying it, I was a bit disturbed. I enjoy the violent, twisted tones of it, but in no way are they "romantic" or "cute". The whole story is fucked up and Sangwoo is fucked up and so is Bum. There's nothing wrong with liking that kind of stuff in fiction, or getting off on it, but it's really important to see that it's not healthy or "goals".
There is a difference between Light and Sangwoo.
When you see things through Light's eyes you are thinking "This is good?" "This isn't good! It's still murder!" "But he saved so many people..." "But he ended up killing innocents" "Light is a hero!" "Light is a monster.". He makes you confused. He is the main character. You see his thoughts. His emotions. His journey from being a normal student that felt like the world is in chaos to becoming a psycho that believes he is god and can and will kill anybody in his path to purify the world.
I don't have an actual argument with Sangwoo as I haven't read the comic (and I am not really planning at the moment) but from what I have seen he is a sociopath obsessed with having power over his victims and manipulating weak persons.
Light was made to be a hero that ended up the villain. Sangwoo was made to be the main character that is evil. That you know he won't change. That would do anything to hurt anybody.

I was an artist in the fanbase for a good few months and I had to completely remove myself from the fanbase because of how many people blindly idolised this fucking fictional serial killer. People fail to realise that Sangwoo has basically no redeeming qualities except for his looks. Even his past doesn’t make up for the crazy shit he does.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a giant fujoshi, but I hated that the "next big thing" was Killing Stalking. I loved how Yuri!!! On Ice portrayed such a healthy and positive homosexual relationship. How did we get from that to the abusive, manipulative, and horror centered "relationship" of Killing Stalking? I did read the manwa and I was basically appalled by the content, but the need to find out how the entire story played out kept me reading it. I was actually rooting for the police guy because I wanted both the main characters to get punished for their crimes. Yun Bum is a stalker who broke into someone's house and Sangwuu is a serial killer. But that's just my opinion.
Yuri on Ice & 10Dance are trying to make a broader appeal beyond target audiences by making the stories more realistic & slice of life with socio-political commentary instead of the default fetish fueled fantasy or a melodramatic soap opera. Yuri on Ice is the exception, not the norm. Series like Killing Stalking have been around for decades & are starting to pick up popularity over seas as a guilty pleasure. BL has always been strictly for women, while men's Bara actually has the exact same type of edgy line-crossing relationship dynamics, So does Yuri & Hentai.

Killing Stalking is a horror Manhwa not BL. BL Suggests romantic themes and plot points when it simply isn't. It has two guys that are involved sexually but it is not enough to label it as BL. It is meant to show what it's like to have someone that a person is obsessed with imprison them in result of their stalking and uncensored obsession. This is shows psychological states throughout and the reality of living in an abusive relationship, this is meant to show you the struggle of escaping an obsession and that no matter how bad it gets its a consistent cycle of pain and suffering. Not a romantic kidnapping scenario where they fall in love in the end
There needs to be more smart people like you in the world. I have two characters who are asexual, into both girls/guys/any gender, in a BDSM relationship and are indeed both guys and in a committed romantic relationship. But I'm afraid if I share them they'll be lumped in with Sangwoo and Yoonbum, despite the fact their relationship is actually loving and healthy (though they both are crazy, their partners in crime). Even more afraid they'd request me to draw them fucking when I make it clear that they're both asexual and don't find sex interesting in the slightest, but of course they can't wrap their head around the fact that two guys who love each other don't need to fuck to show it. (Plus my two characters are teens, so there's that.) And yeah, Killing Stalking is about psychological torment and physical abuse, I'm so tired of people trying to dumb it down into yet another shipping trend. I like it for the plot, not the sex. Sorry if my explanation came off as a bit ignorant, since I usually associate anyone who has no romantic attraction with "aro" or aromantic. I always felt "ace of hearts" fit them but I could be wrong. I meant no disrespect to the LGBT+ community. I completely forgot to include the part where they are confirmed panromantic and biromantic, so I guess it looked I messed up a little there, sorry. And thanks, I do believe most of my stories and characters are very maturely themed and gory. My other story deals a lot with the topic of abuse, suicide, self harm, homophobia,and even deformity. And I do plan to go into full detail with blood, wounds, and everything else since it's a psychological horror like Killing Stalking. But I know how sneaky teens are today and won't care if it has an 18+ rating, I know I'm eighteen myself. I know they'll ship the two male leads together (even if they are canon), and I think we all know how carried away they'll get with THAT instead of the darker themes going on. The creator stated that over and over again. I am a huge fan of killing stalking for the psychology horror, and it disgusts me that people consider this a boys love/ Yaoi comic.
So, here's my story. A good friend of mine has two dads. They adopted her when they where pretty young and are only in their late 30's. Anyways, she actually refuses to bring them if she's going to a con, or just to buy manga, because of a little incident that occured when we where all at a Japanese festival in southern California a couple years back.
Soo... My friend and I where on vacation in Santa Monica to attend my brother's wedding (she and her parent are close family friends) anywho, my friend and I, along with her dads and my 3 year old nephew where at the festival, just ordering food and talking, when a girl dressed like Levi from AoT and another girl dressed like the black haired guy from killing stalking just sat down at the table we where at and said "holy crap the guys are holding hands! It's a Christmas miracle!" This was in May, btw... Anywhoo, they started asking my friends parents if they beat eachother, and when her parents just sat there trying to form words, one of the girls went straight to describing a REALLY messed up sexual scene in Killing Stalking and then begged them to try doing it. We tried to just get up and walk away, and the girls just continued to follow us. Eventually, they became angry that we where ignoring them and the Levi girl took off her belt and SMACKED ONE OF THE DADS ON THE ASS and demanded that they "spread the beauty" of Killing Stalking. My nephew was, of course, terrified and started crying and the girls ran away as someone with security approached us. Later on, in the parking lot, the Levi girl approached us again, TWO HOURS LATER, and threw a big sheet of paper with a drawing of my poor friends dads... Uhhh... Partaking in really graphic domestic abuse and some other X-Rated stuff was going down.
Anyways, her parents just thought they where insane, and looked absolutely mortified when we explained that Killing Stalking was an actual thing and that those scenes occur in the webtoon. The two girls ended up getting taken away by the police. It was incredibly unnerving and my friend still feels like some crazy person is going to mess with her parents if they go to a con or event like that. Its really messed up when a couple can't even go out and have a normal evening because of people like that.

I come from the Kingdom Hearts fandom, and I've seen WAY too many fics where Riku is ALWAYS the big mean dominant sometimes-abusive manly-man seme, and Sora is ALWAYS the weepy co-dependent spineless effeminate uke. Not only does this usually throw out all semblance of proper characterization, but it is also horribly offensive when you think about it- because, you know, in real life, the taller person always tops, and the taller you are, the more “alpha” you are, and sex is really about establishing a social pecking order rather than a mutually pleasurable activity between two people who love each other, right?
...Ahem.
Bottom line is, you should never EVER sacrifice characterization for the sake of a relationship. Acting like all gay people act a certain way and always fit into certain roles is the DEFINITION of homophobia. Not that seme-uke dynamics DON'T exist at all in real life, but it's not the norm.

Well, this isn't exactly from the killing stalking fandom but rather from the yaoi fandom. While I was going through newly added yaoi manga on mangago I clicked on what seemed like another innocent manga. At the time I didn't realise what terrible mistake it was. After reading the 30 or so pages filled with painful, miserable rape I got to the comment section. I joined an argument as i saw someone getting attacked and insulted for pointing out that it's rape. One of the people attacking that person stated "he consented at first so it's wasn't rape" despite the fact that it was clearly a joke and he begged to stop through out the whole sex scene. Through out the whole argument the ignorant fan continued to insult me. In the end I told them to consider what consent really is because if someone says "no" or "stop", you don't just keep going.
Edit: On additional note, I will only say this because I don't want anyone to get confused. The story seemed like another generic boring yaoi at first but... the rape scene seem like something you would see in real life. Honestly, anyone who survived something like that would need a therapist because they would want to just end it all. It was the most messed up thing I ever read. The rape was something a thousand times worst than what we saw in the warehouse, ks, Hogu Hagyeongsu or in any manga you could have ever read.
Btw, some of the people from the comment section even emailed me in private about it because they didn't want to get verbally attached by that person telling me that they agree with me. I get why they didn't want to speak up - that person was just the worst most ignorant extreme fan I ever met.

I fully admit to being a fujoshi. However, I see Killing Stalking as a horror story. The terrifying descent of a stalker turned captive into a clone of his captor. I am fully aware that the relationship between Sangwoo and Yoonbum is toxic at best. I still like the manhwa, however, as it is about something dark that happens in real life. People are kidnapped and experience horrors to the point of losing their minds. I don't like stories that ignore the dark truths of the world.
Anyway, what was my point? Oh yeah. The fujoshi who think that Killing Stalking should be seen as a relationship goal or anything positive in the field of romance are truly delusional and they give other fujoshi (and otaku in general) a bad name.

The psychological torture that ensues throughout the story is what keeps me from putting it down but this story is not a romance in any damn way. I've watched any and every fan of Killing Stalking on Tumblr be attacked by 'antis' who seem bent on believing that even reading KS means that you're a homophobic, abusive, terrible monster who condones rape and abusive relationships. But the majority of the fandom that I've seen are well aware of the fact that the story is based around the horror aspect to it! The story might be categorized as BL, have sexually dubious scenes, and have two males who engage in certain things, but that does NOT mean that it is to be taken as a 'normal BL love story'. And not to mention, the creator herself stated in an interview that she never saw them as being a romantic pairing, but she is aware of the shipping surrounding her story and wants fans to enjoy as they see fit. With that said, I think the KS fandom is a victim of having a very vocal minority who overshadows the larger fanbase, who don't actually condone these acts and just want to see how the story will turn out. People should be allowed to enjoy whatever content they want, even if that content has intensely dark themes. It's HOW they enjoy that content that ultimately divides a fandom.

I have a shorter hair cut, which the first day she met me she said “omg you look like Levi from AOT.” I said yeah thanks??? And then a month later she says “omg you look like yoonbum!!” And I said okay?? Thanks?? The following weeks this 7th graders was hard core obsessed with me. Due to last abuse, I don’t like being touched. She still did it though, even after I asked her not to. Later on, I changed to my honors English class, causing me to have her in my PE class. I was a 8th grader at the time, but the classes were combined. Which meant I had to change in front of this girl, daily. One day she got asked me to be her “uke”
And I told her that she was making me very much uncomfortable. She even cut her hair to match Sangwoos! I asked her to leave me alone but of course she didn’t. One day, I came in late and she sneaked into the locker room while I was changing. I was fed up. I read killing stalking out of curiousity, it's available on a pay-to-read manwha platform I use. I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. It was... traumatic bc of some abuse in my past, but so are a lot of psych horror movies. But because of Sangwoo's and Yoonbum's pasts and their problems, I kept reading, largely hoping there would be some sort of resolution to everything that was triumphant (yoonbum escaping) or emotionally satisfying (sangwoo getting arrested/dying), but alas. In the hosting app I use to read it, the author has repeatedly stated she doesn't want it read as a romance, but then the app will do these special 'fan submission' updates where they show fans in yoonbum/sangwoo cosplay, or share cutesy domestic fanart, so the reading platform eggs that behavior on and it's unsettling af.

Yes. Bad fujoshis are the worst. But the thing with killing stalking is, complicated. While the couple is abuse (there is no argument there) it is seemingly sadomaso pandering. While they are not a bdsm couple, the manga is selling the fantasy. And it’s not the first time BL has done this, in fact there has there has been a spike in this type of BL recently. I would even argue that it could be more dangerous not to recognise killing stalking as a fetish manga. The worst part is that is popular, particularly around young people. Normally manga like this doesn’t get attention, because older people know the difference between fantasy and reality.

Oh god my baby lesbian self thought Citrus was the greatest thing since female fronted alternative bands and rewatching it a few years later it all feels so sad to me. It was the first anime with two girls dating I could really find and I felt so starved for representation that I clung to it. People don't realize how damaging these stories can be to people's image of queerness, both in the community and with fetishists.

This isn’t Killing Stalking specific but a fujiyoshi story in general. My old best friend is the one who got me into anime, something I still enjoy to this day, but she shoved the fujiyoshi life style of shipping down my throat and when I had a ship that clashed with hers she would lash out. I started watching anime that she didn’t and getting ships that she didn’t but whenever I tried showing the content I created to her, as she had done to me many times, she would immediately hate it if it wasn’t gay. And whenever I would introduce her to an anime, she would tell me it was bad because there was no possible yoai ship. Well fast forward a couple years and I come out to her as bi and she was immediately disgusted with the prospect of me (a girl) being with another girl. She didn’t invite me to have sleepovers anymore because she thought I would make a move on her and would yell at me whenever I told her about my crush on a girl. It’s like when homophobic guys watch lesbian porn, you aren’t doing the LGBT community a favour by fetishizing gay people

Fujoshi-ism is a sexuality, not a fetish. If you ship more than boy-boy, you are not a fujoshi, you're more of the omnisexual type that only share a partial interest with them. I'm not gonna lie though... Your friend is not far off from a Tumblrina, only she's militant about yaoi instead of LGBT/race/feminism issues. I love killing stalking because it's dark tone and it's theme of "no one is a hero". I don't mind BL but I don't watch a show just because it has it.
I'd have to disagree with Yuri on Ice being 'ruined' by Fujoshis. It's widely considered a BL anime and considering that it's about a canon gay couple it pretty much earns its place in it. The annoying part of fujoshis (I'm speaking as one) is how much and how strongly they ship people. It could literally be people who hate each other (I'll get to that point later) or people who talk twice but for some reason on Tumblr there's fan art and fanfics of them having extensive relationships just because a fujoshi fancies them, and therefore fancies them together. In the case of YOI it is yes also a sports anime but lets be real, its a BL. It's VASTLY different from other BLs and yaois that fujoshi's like because it meets a lot of legal/moral requirements (consent, non-violent, reciprocated feelings, etc)
There are a lot of tropes in yaoi and Bl and a huge part of that has to do with using violence and power to express 'love' at the same time romanticizing it for females. There are a lot of other tropes like effeminate males, projected gender roles, and other stereotypes I wont get into, but I'll just relay the ones that relate to Killing Stalking.
I would say 90% of BL has a relationship starting off or in someway nonconsensual. A lot of yaoi is just sexual assault. How this is romantic idk, but it's what Fujoshis are born from and its hard to shake them of their ways. I HATE the fandom who cosplay Sang wo and Bum together or in general and the fanart that romanticize their relationship. But it's not uncommon in the genre. I've learned to separate Yaoi/BL from actual sexuality as well as shipping people I don't even do much. I'm a huge fan of True Crime stuff so I know to distance myself from interesting but bad characters like most people who are fans of Killing Stalking, but yeah I totally agree that the fandom is weird and I don't like seeing people express their fandom for the Manwa the way they do. But like I said before I am a fujoshi and I can't help but find the main characters very attractive in their own way haha. When I explain the comic to people I heavily warn them of it's content before even saying there's guy on guy kissing . Idk how the fuck people completely skip that step when telling them about Killing Stalking.
To be fair a lot of manga and anime with relationships start off as sexual assault or some other weird dynamic it isnt just the yaoi. A lot of stuff is also young teens with adults. but i think thats because Japan has different age of consent laws then western countries.
Technically Killing Stalking is a manwha from Korea, so there's probably different tropes and conventions that what we would see in Japanese manga. But on your point about manga, I agree those tropes don’t just appear in yaoi. It's also prominent in other media that depicts romantic relationships. You see this similar dynamic of abusive guys, who force themselves onto their romantic love interest, with their romantic interest always protesting the relationship in other genres. I think it may have something to do more with literary tropes of Japanese literature, that started in classics like the Tale of Genji and is probably why that theme pops up in so many media.

It's so weird because of how different they are. If I say I like the little mermaid because of the cute love story, you're not gonna hear someone say "Oh well since you liked this straight couple you may also like this straight couple in this bondage film." That's a huge freaking jump to make and that's what some Yaoi fans do. "Since you like at least one Yaoi anime I recommend this rape fest one." It shows how much they fetishize it because they're solely interested in the boy on boy action. That's why they compare yuri on ice and KS. They don't care that the tones of the films are drastically different. They just see that sweet yaoi and figure that's all any yaoi fangirl wants.

I just read Killing Stalking, and I'm having a panic attack, how can people like this shit! Yeah, yeah, it's well written and all, but how do people like the characters, wish for them to get away with their crimes and be fine with the manipulation, the severe stockholm syndrome, the tremendous mental and physical abuse!? I can't, I've been feeling sick for the last 2 hours I spent reading that thing.

I have kind of been de-sensitized to this kind of genre. I enjoyed killing stalking as a horror and character study of a serial killer. It's an interesting take. Also, the art is really pretty. However, it's not the best thing I've ever read

EDIT: Something I forgot to state when making this post. The community as of recent has definitely gotten a lot better. My gripes are with the past,not the present. Not much discourse is really going on nowadays as I've seen,and from what I've heard,it's been few and far between. The community itself was never actually that terrible to begin with as well,it all was based on where you looked or who you talked to.
That's basically any fandom in a nutshell though. And lastly,like RPG monger usually states,not everyone is like the vocal minority of people who get the majority condemned.

It's mainly from the shipping portion of the fandom. That's all I really need to say.
But if I need to say more,two ships basically ruin the community. Bumblebee (Shipping the characters Yang and Blake) and White Rose (Weiss and Ruby.) Usually,the people who like these ships will get pissed if you say you don't like it or you don't think it will be canon. Imagine a rabid dog as their reaction,cause that's the amount of freakout they sometimes have. That and they tend to use "evidence" to be like "HAH,IT'S GONNA BE CANON" even though it's all an eye of the beholder type thing.
Even worse,someone from the voice acting cast was attacked over clearing up confusion from a song called "BMBLB." Basically,people were freaking out like "OH MY GOD,THE SONG IS NAMED AFTER THE SHIP BUMBLEBEE,IT'S GONNA BE CANON! BLAKE AND YANG ARE GONNA GET TOGETHER,REEEEEEEEEEEEEE-." Arryn Zech from rooster teeth came and attempted to clear up the controversy,stating that:
"I understand completely the importance of the (bumblebee emoji) within the community. That's why I want everyone to know that the song wasn't something myself or the crew knew about. If the song isn't directly in the show,it doesn't get consulted over. Jeff is an amazing musician and creates great work on his own. So,the song isn't a bait,it's a piece he wanted to share that isn't in the show."
After she made that post,she began getting harassed by the community that she is basically the lifeblood of,being the voice actor of blake and even admitting she really liked the ship in question. Afterwards,she made this post:
"I'm deleting the thread - I'm tired. I love the show & community,but I've put myself in the mix & I don't belong there. That's my mistake. I'm here because I love my job and telling other peoples stories. I forget what getting involved means sometimes. Night and love you x"
If that's really not enough on the shipping side of things,I don't know what is.

You should've seen the posts last night,, people hated the fact that she was a villain and not a 1-dimensional gay character that's sunshine and rainbows. They literally dismissed her entire character and motivations for the fact that she's gay. It was gross as hell.

Now don’t get me wrong, I like anime myself and I don’t mind a nice convo about it once and a while, even though it got really annoying after a while. At first it was fine considering I didn’t know what ks really was at the time, but then that changed when I found out what it was. And, not even a week ago I caught her *drawing ks bondage fan art between the two main characters* when I was scrolling through my Instagram feed. Let me just leave you with the fact that she is only 14. Fucking. Gross.

I know it may not seem like it to you because you're probably the same age, but she's really just a kid growing up, and people express themselves in different ways. From the point of view of an adult- this seems normal for someone her age. Pushing boundaries, perhaps being a little edgy, is pretty normal. Bondage nowadays is pretty tame to be honest, but non consensual relationships, straight or gay, are not something to put on a pedestal.
