I am now 70 years old almost 71. My brother and I had for fish tanks full of fish and had a neighbor friend our age who also had quite a few fish tanks and another kid in the neighborhood we weren't friends with but also raised fish to sell. My brother and I and his friend John we just had fun with our fish the other neighbor boy sold some fish two friends but I don't remember too much about him. I had fish tank setup in my classroom through the years I don't have any fish at the moment. The reason I started to write this comment was because I wish I was 10 years old again at this time in the world where there's all this knowledge that can be gained from RUclips. My brother and I tried to read every fish book or magazine the Pittsburgh library could bring us to the bookmobile. There weren't any other places to learn about tropical fish. This is amazing and thank you so much for filming this video and posting it on RUclips I appreciate it and enjoyed watching it this evening thank you so much
@My Pets I found the internet a long long time ago! I taught school and I taught computer Camp during the summer... 3 years too late but damn what a facility! The amount of fish and the coloring is amazing! Looks pretty low tech but it does the trick. All the little pieces of nature that just popped up between the holding tanks just gives this farm a very nice touch. I loved it!
I was born & raised in South FL in the 60's & 70's and had a fish farm very close by. They had their tropical fish in ponds and during the rainy season or a storm they would flood and release fish. The canals in the area were full of swordtails, mollies, goldfish, etc.!!! During big storms when the roads flooded, I'd take a net and catch fish out of the streets.... had a beautiful aquarium and didn't pay for a single fish.... caught them all out of the canals or street!!!
Classic s. Florida , I dunno whats more iconic exotic species or flooded roads and canals!!!! I remember wading through waste deep water seeing large aquatic life swimming past in parking lots and avenues....
Awsome video! As a lfs owner of over 22 years it makes me so happy to see people in my industry still loyal to the independent shops and not just undercutting them by selling online. Great people!
A few years ago I unknowingly contacted FEFS and was inquiring about visiting and purchasing fish as a beginner. Rick got me in contact with the owner of the closest fish store they supply to and they both worked out a list for me. On his next shipment of fish to the store I had my own shipment separate with special reduced pricing. Such a great guy, he and his wife and such amazing fish. They are so passionate as well. I have two 75 gallon tanks all Tanganyikan and all from Florida Exotic they are going strong and very very healthy. lots of babies since then too. lots of fun great hobby. Thanks FEFS oh the fish love the food as well.
Watching from Scotland. Seriously impressed with this guys knowledge, the amazing fish variety and sizes. The grounds. There's just so many boxes ticked here! I have never been so engaged in watching anything! Thank you to the guy who recorded it all beautifully and the amazing shots he got as well as the great questions. Seriously impressed. Subscribed and will be looking for more content like this. Longest review I've ever written but feel like it doesn't even come close to how much praise all this should get!
The fact that literally every inch of that place is sprawling with fish with some not even in the tubs is both hilarious and fascinating to me. Beautiful fish, and very eye opening!
That facility is fascinating!! What a fish paradise! He knows his fish too! He's like, "Hey Hector what's going on with these guys?" and the reply is oh we ran out of such and such. He's very hands on and tuned in to what's goin on. Thanks for sharing this place with us!!!!!!
Sir, I'm just a rookie with African cyclids, I have a couple of lemon cyclids that have taken me 3 times and I'm in love with these fish, watching this video has made me want to learn and raise them. Congratulations on having such beautiful fish. By the way I am Cuban from Cuba but I am writing in English so you can understand me perfectly.
This blew me away, wow, I'm new to Cichlid, these fish are really nice. Thanks a lot for spending time to take us around all around the world into these farms.

I have watched this entire video from beginning to end. My idea of a cichlid is my angels, but these are some of the most beautiful fish I’ve ever seen.
I really enjoyed this! "Tamala"I wish we could've seen your "Shell Dweller Cichlids" ... I bet they are to die for. We need a part two?🤗 thanks for taking time outta you're day to share this amazing footage!
Hey, Something Fishy in Cleveland was mentioned at the end of this video. I go there and it is a great place just south of DT Cleveland. Also purchased a 150G aquarium from the owner Dave.
Love it, I have kept fish for about 45yrs on and off depending on where I was based, etc. Cichlids were my favourite fish I bred Blue Acara's as a 10yr old and swapped them at club meets I am sure the old guys were very generous. This makes me so jealous. I would love to work there, after a career in law enforcement I would gladly swap. What on earth is the water bill?
Those were some beautiful fish. It seems like the pet stores would want to advertise that they get their fish from this particular farm. "They don't want to put my name on the label." That's a mistake, this guy's doing it right. It'd be cool if he sold straight to consumer on-line. Watching this made me want to get an aquarium set up. I've always loved Cichlids.
one of the most wonderful exoctic species of cichlids which only experienced aquarists can experience and can be shown off to an aquarium club...just wonderful ..only a matter of time far-east breeders will be left redundant due to transport prices..
:) Yeah, I collect watches, and probably love blue dials the best. Lots of people in the watch community, actually, prefer blue dials. I read that it may be because blue is such a soothing color - good for anxiety / stress, etc. Thinking of getting another aquarium. I haven't had one for like 20 years. But I used to have 3 aquariums in my room. I don't remember having many blue fish, but I did have a blue Opaline Gourami.
I would pay stupid money to tour this farm and take notes. Absolutely amazing farm, my fish room doesn't even compare and it's higher volume than most suppliers 😭
What an incredible fish farm. They could seriously make money on just giving tours of their unique farm. I would certainly pay to see it in person and listen to all the priceless knowledge.
Growth on the outflows reminds me of a tour I once had sponsored by the Baltimore Aquarium. We visited the Hopkins Marine Station in Monterey and met the scientists who worked there. They had a raw seawater spigot on the outside of their labs. It leaked all the time and the puddle below had little anemones and other recruitment right there on the sidewalk. I remember being fascinated by that.
I wonder if there are specialists whom, with lots of knowledge and experience on how to handle many kinds of fish, specialize in cleaning aquariums and such for keepers/hobbyists. I bet offering that kind of service is a hole in the market.
