- "Tiff Talks" is now on Patreon ( / lovecarstv ) but for this exclusive interview, we wanted to share Tiff's side to the whole Fifth Gear story, plus lots lots more.
With the recent news that Tiff Needell will no longer be featured on the long running "Fifth Gear" motoring program, we turned to Twitter and Instagram to get your questions. We touch on a wide variety of topics, from Tiff's perspective on Fifth Gear's decision to no longer use him, to his thoughts on Top Gear, Chris Harris, and what colour his socks are.
The good news is, with Tiff's departure from Fifth Gear, he will now be doing more with Lovecars, and we have been working behind the scenes on an exciting new project, a teaser of which can be seen at the end of this video.

Tiff, Vicky, and Jason are as iconic as Jeremy, James, and Richard. Without them, their former shows simply aren't worth the time.
No Tiff on fifth gear oh no the best part of that show was Plato and Tiff getting cars sideways lol
The thing I've always liked about Tiff since his Top Gear days is the same thing I like about Chris Harris. He drives the cars as they should be driven and tells you how they feel, no nonsense. A rare thing these days.
Tiff is a living legend, he such an English gentleman, Fifth gear is boring until Tiff''s section come on!
Tiff, team up with Ed China, do a series where you travel around the world doing as many diffrent entry level motorsports. Ed finds and preps the cars and you drive them.

The car report originals, Mr clarkson and now Mr needell, chased off mainstream TV, those TV companies don't care about loyalty and it will cost them deeply, top gear has stalled, fifth gear, just doing its thing.
True success is greater off mainstream TV, Mr needell, keep enjoying yourself and stay true to yourself, your family and to all things, people and hobbies you love, great work and people I truly are timeless
Jeremy Clarkson wasn’t chased off TV. He physically assaulted a work colleague and was sacked

Tiff Needell is my favourite, I am watching him since my childhood, I am his big fan. I loved that this guy is giving him the respect he deserves.
I remember watching the VHS of Top Gear Fast and Furious where Tiff tested the McLaren F1. Such an iconic test. I for one won’t be watching Fifth Gear without Tiff, his skill is unmatched. Glad he’s found a new home here

The only reason why I watched fifth gear because of Tiff
Needles was the best thing about fifth gear and seeing the other presenters reactions to his crazy antics was epic. The man is a legend and shame on them for not having him in the new series.
Kind of the equivalent to Edd that left Wheeler Dealers. Both, this show and Fifth Gear came on the same channel and I always woke up every week to watch both one after the other on the day a new episode came. Such epicness, fun and passion from both shows and both presenters. 👌 👏

I love to watch Tiff drive the car, especially the way he manhandles the steering wheel. Tiff is all over that steering wheel, turning right and then left and then right and then back again, as the car seems to careen almost out of control at high speed. I do like to watch him drive and also the way he uses his hands to describe how the car handles. Brilliant.

The Mclaren f1 video with you tiff from the old top gear is what gave me the first hair raising feeling for cars..."give it some shtick" ...the noise of that engine and the gear changes..powering out with a bit of wheel spin on the exit of the chicane, OMFG.
Tiff is a personal motoring hero to me. I really dove back into to my love of Sports cars on the strength of Fifth Gear, the Original UK Wheeler Dealers and even Car S.O.S. All of that great programming bled over here to the states and really ignited a passion in me. Unfortunately, times have changed, motoring television is a shadow of itself.
Tiff is hero in these circles. It’s like watching Mufasa falling off the cliff hearing that Tiff has been axed off Fifth Gear. Love the new videos you are creating here. No silly insincere/fake scripts just what we want to see the cars and great personalities. Keep up the great work 👌👍

Tiff is a uncle which everybody wants. Love tiff, he's a true man's man and one of the best presenter.
IMO Tiff is the best of the best when it comes to cars, driving, racing. He has a wealth of knowledge and real life practical experience coupled with genuinely innate intuitive talent. When anything motoring is being presented by Tiff you know you are getting an authoritative informed view point based upon real in depth knowledge. A younger presenter with a winning smile just doesn’t cut it. To gear heads experience is everything if an opinion expressed is to carry any weight at all. Looking forward to your next chapter Tiff 👍

Such a different characters,Tiff such elegant and Jeremy such rude sometimes but they are true encyclopedias of cars.

Firstly I'd like to apologise for losing track of watching 5th gear many years ago.
Shame on me, I must have missed some good quality shows.
I lost heart with Motoring programmes when Top Gear became more of a comedy show than a car review show and just stopped watching them.
For some reason, this year, I've got into RUclips. So many fascinating things to watch.
And now, because Tiff being ousted from 5th Gear was in the news I've discovered "Lovecars". Whoopee!
This has been the first video I've watched and I love Tiff. Your views on what a car is about is spot on.

Ooooooh this upcoming tease of the new tv series has given me goosebumps,specially seeing the Apollo IE FINALLY being driven hard!!! 5th and Top Gear and The Grand Tour are definitely gonna have competition,by the looks of things!!!
My question to Tiff would be about his life as a young Civil Engineer! The problem with 5th Gear is that they are trying to find homes for their Quest presenters. Without Tiff, they may submerge back underwater.

I use to watch Tiff as a kid on old Top Gear. He also use to race a black race car which looked like a F40 back then. It has some rainbow colour back bumper.
