I didn't watch Sale of the Century much during its original run because of work. Thank goodness for Buzzr. I can see this show and other game shows whenever I want. Even though some of the hosts, announcers and panelists are no longer with us, it's good to see them. Brings back wonderful childhood memories.

Sadly the late 80s/early 90s was the beginning of the end of most daytime major network game shows. Sadder still was the fact that Jim Perry never got another hosting gig after this. I thought he would have been a sensational successor to Bob Barker on "Price is Right", but that never came to pass. Also very sad that Tom Kennedy's short run on "WordPlay" would turn out to be his final hosting gig too. Both of these incredible emcees were out of work much too soon. May they both rest in peace.

He did continue Definition in Canada for a little bit after this and he would host a Mark Goodson pilot in 94 called "Cash Tornado" but yeah otherwise that was it. ☹ I think they should have hired him for the let's make a deal revival in 1990. He would have been great at that.

Now there's love.....Jim right out of the gate recognizes his wife and says if it wasn't for her, he wouldn't be where he is standing....and then at the end of his speech she puts her hand on his chest and kisses him, and he instinctively grabs her hand. That's the type of love we all want....

What a supportive wife she was, Jim was super busy much of his career, had 3 shows at once for a long time between the US and Canada. He couldn't have had much spare time. That can be trying on a marriage but they stayed together. ❤

Your family lived in Houston in which I heard from Jim Perry in a 1988 episode when he mentioned that your family now watches on KPRC in which Sale joined it's daytime schedule in the one video. My NBC station WDIV in Detroit (KPRC's sister station) had aired it's entire NBC run. 2. Did the Detroit NBC station get the news bulletin on the Exxon Valdez incident during the credits?
