This is a great video, even for people who have never seen this game before. I sure hope this will get more people into the game, because as you know, it is a great game.
What a beautifully made video, Braid is possible the game that defined me the most as a gamer when i played, everything is just so perfect about it and i cant wait to play the recent remaster with director commentary, but in the meantime watching your explanation of this amazing speedrun served as a fantastic way to re-live and rediscover new stuff about the game. I remember getting the sub-45 achievement completing it in 40/35 minutes or so and i felt like a speedrunning god almost 15 years ago, seeing someone achieve it in less than 23 minutes is humbling and impressive. Thank you and congrats to Ghermann for getting such a fast run that is still the WR today AFAIK.
That's an awesome video! Congrats to the Braid community for finding all of this over the years. I really want to go back to this game sometime next year.
This is legitimately very good, I watch a lot of these and yours still stands out as feeling particularly professional. You ought to consider making more of these, you seem to have a knack for it.
Been going for the speedrun achievement, and I gotta say, this video has really given me some motivation to aim for that. Though it's not even nearly as insane to execute as the sub 23, lol. Great video, appreciate all the effort put into the commentary + clean editing
Thanks man! Glad to see people are still watching this :) Good luck on the achievement! Btw, to go sub 45, you don't really need any of these tricks, just play clean and don't make too many mistakes that would force you to have to rewind.
My current pb is 36:41. I am glad that there is someone who wants to help. I am suprised that at the end of 2020 there are tutorials for 2008 puzzle game, and that speedrun comunity is still active. That is maybe becouse of anniversary edition. I hope that more people will start playing this game when new version comes out. Hope that this video helps me improve, becouse i wanted to say thank you to creator before watching it. I will share my toughts on it when i watch it! So yeah thanks and i hope you will see my comment!
Video was great and there were quite a few tricks that i have never seen, and tutorials for ones that i had strugle learning. I am really thankfull and i hope this comunity will continue finding new and inovativne stuff. Overall thanks for help!
I wish I watched it instead of the original no-commentary video, but it doesn't show up in search for neither "Braid World Record", "Braid Speedrun" nor "Braid Speedrun World Record". Apparently, because you used none of "speedrun", "world", "record" words neither in title, nor in description. Ironically, I found your video when searching for Braid TAS (and you have "TAS" in the description). You should rename it into something like: "Braid World Record Speedrun with Commentary [Current sub 23 WR Explained]" to include all of the main keywords (or move some keywords into description if you prefer a shorter title). At the very least it would be a nice SEO experiment, but I am sure, it will slowly start getting more views.
He really is. It's quite insane. I can do many rewinds at x8, but I still do x4 on many that needs super precision. Gherman just x8 everything at great risk but also with great precision.
The freeze time jump thing probably works by the game thinking that you did 3 sequential jumps in one instant due to the frame perfect freeze happening in the bounce hitbox.
@@krispyking2450 Np, I actually tried the mobile version now and while it's fine for casual players, I would never try to speedrun the game on the mobile version, the controllers are absolutely not made for it. The game overall is the same though.

Bro here is talking like he's presenting his final year thesis. Awesome video!
You are retarded.
only 30 seconds in and he's already speaking the language of the gods
("twenty-oh eight")
This is a fantastic video - informative and thorough, but also clear and concise, without any extraneous narration.
Wow I really liked the way you decided to present this video, great work!

Great video! I played Braid a long time ago and LOVED it, great to know it still has a community thanks to speedrun!
Really enjoyed this breakdown of the run, thank you very much :)

This is really high quality, good stuff.
Wow I can’t believe I watched that whole thing. So well done!

Thank you. There is a link to a discord channel where we discuss strategies and you can get help on the Braid part of speedrun dot com.

I'm curious why springloading is so darn LOUD! Edit: This is a fantastic breakdown of the run. Well done and thank you!
Great game, great run, great video!
This was unreal

Good feedback, thanks. Will fix!
Holy this is so difficult and complicated i got a headache trying to understand
Gj by Sandwich and Ghermann is crazy
Is he really doing the time-shifting unscripted? Because I am simply amazed at the level of precision if he is.

How did you get Hugbees to announce this
The freeze time jump thing probably works by the game thinking that you did 3 sequential jumps in one instant due to the frame perfect freeze happening in the bounce hitbox.
Perhaps. Worth noting that it no longer works in the Anniversary Edition.
Good video 👍
Why does this only have 500 views? This is great.
Is that Roland from the hit game library of ruuna on the Nintendo switch in the thumbnail?
No, that is Tim from Braid :P
how compatible with the mobile version of the game is this video?
Maybe someone else know, but I've not tried the mobile version yet.
ok thanks for responding to my question on a 3 year old video

@@SandwichTV ok thank you for testing it, what about a controller connected to the phone? since in the menus i see a controller settings
@@krispyking2450 That I can't test.
You sound so weird Xiphias ^^
This was more entertaining to watch than a sports game.
