  • Sir Henry Wood founded the Promenade Concerts in 1895 and to mark his 150th birthday, a special tribute concert was given during the 2019 Proms season in London's Royal Albert Hall. The programme included four of Wood's orchestral arrangements and here is one of them - a colourful transcription of 'Andaluza,' one of Enrique Granados's "Danzas Españolas" for piano solo. The BBC Concert Orchestra is conducted by Bramwell Tovey.

    Sad to report the death yesterday of Bram Tovey: a fine but greatly underrated conductor and lovely man. May he rest in peace!
