Hi, Jeremy! Mind if I ask you about strap buttons? If it's placed on the treble-side of the neck heel, do you find that it pulls the instrument top forward towards the floor, or does it stay pretty flat against you? I'm just asking because I'm wondering whether to place a strap button on the side of the neck heel, or directly on top; so that it sits flatter like a guitar would...? Many thanks, and peace! :)
We've always had the best luck placing the button on the treble side of the heel, that way it keeps sideways tension on the strap, and all but eliminates the chance of the strap accidentally falling off. We've also seen a few guitars/mandolins that have the button installed on back of the heel split out, because the screw is going with the grain not against it. Everyone does it there own way, and many of them work great, but this is just our experience. Thanks so much for supporting our channel, please give us a like and subscribe when you get the chance.
@@AcousticShoppe Thanks, do you think id be able to accomplish this warm, mellow, soft and lyrical sound with the 304a? ruclips.net/video/k4JiIqX0aE0/видео.html What would be the next step up in price if i felt like going a bit higher and do you think the price jump would be worth it for the sound? Thanks
I don’t get it. Why can’t folks just quietly go away when they click on a link they don’t like? Do they think the world is somehow improved by their negativism?
What about flat top mandolins? Bowl back mandolins? I have two flat top mandolins that I dearly love. Great instruments.
Probably a well-known piece but could you tell us the title of the tune you play on this video ? Thanks.
It's The Irish Washer Woman, An old traditional Celtic fiddle tune. Thanks so much for watching and supporting The Acoustic Shoppe

Cool! But what about the big and round ones?
Bowl-Back mandolins? We may have to cover those in the next video.
is it widely agreed upon the the eastman 305/304 is the best mandolin in that 5-600 dollar price range.?
We can't speak for everyone, but yes, they are great mandolins for their price!

I was expecting more than just the garish american mandolin types. Seen more than enough of them.
