One of the few choirs where all the parts are audible and one part doesn’t overpower another
Absolutely true, I live in eastern S. Dakota and several of the best college choirs in the nation are within easy driving distance of where I live. the Nordic Choir may be the best because they blend like you say, perfectly, and their phrasing is flawless.
2:32 the girl crying in the bottom right. Me too girl.
Me three.
honestly the solo made me want to tear up, that was absolutely gorgeous
Wow ❤❤❤
Lovely choral singing, and the soloist's voice is refreshing.
This was beautiful. Gave me chills.
Beautiful soloist blended harmoniously with a magnificent choir. Thank you for the ministry of music 🎶
Keeping up the tradition of first rate choral singing. Well done.
Every time I hear this piece and sing it I love it more
When I heard this and then took time to look up the whole text, I thought of Denzel Washington's character in "The Book Of Eli,"
don't ask me why. For all the violence and unhappiness in that movie, what I really remember is the man with the calling and his determination to find the Road Home for him. Stephen Paulus was a great composer and this is just a wonderful performance.
Such sensitivity. Lovely. A real spiritual ministry.
wow ... I have tears in my eyes and can bearly write... thank you. It is breathtaking.
Lacrymal glands - in your ears. How strange.
@@Tinker1950 oops :-)
So lovely! So balanced and beautiful.
Such a warm moving piece of music, perfectly sung.
Makes me cry! Amen
It’s almost impossible for me not to listen to this without crying.
Very well done! One of the best performances of this I’ve heard.
We would sing this in high school during Graduation. Thank you
That's wonderful! My son who is a choral teacher, calls all choir alumni to the stage to sing this at every spring concert.❤️
@@bythewaterfall8785 we do that with are Mardrigal alumni. Always a fun time to sing The Boar's Head Carol and Carol of the Bells.
@@tristankoerner2567 Yes!✨✨✨
I am singing this next week in our senior night/spring choir concert.
I love this rendition ! I sang it last year in high school as a freshman and I did the solo💜❤🥰
We are singing this at my high school next week.
(I’m a senior, and I am going to try out for the solo as well.)
If I get the solo, I will let you know.
Update: I completely forgot I made this comment!!! But I did not get the solo, someone else got it. And she did really good!
And yes, I did graduate high school this year, and am doing well in life. I chose not to go to college, but I am looking out for a job.
This is the best performance of this work.
Bellísima interpretación: Qué es esa voz? La que te llevará a casa
Gracias Walter!
This is absolutely gorgeous.......
Beautiful...especially the soloist. d
Beautiful
Magnificent🎵
Thanks, Gary!
What a perfecand beautiful blend of voices in this piece. Add to the blend the way it was presented with heart and feeling. Simply beautiful.
We agree!
Agree too...only professional ensembles may do it slightly better
Absolutely lovely--a very sensitive interpretation and performance of one of my favorite pieces.
Thanks for listening and for the kind words, Burt!
Possibly a truly perfect rendition
The soloist is superb.
We totally agree, Bruce!
I did this song my freshman year and I was the soloist 💜💜
Tag yourself, I'm the girl crying in the corner of the thumbnail
: )
I sincerely hope that this conductor found a good job.
What's this supposed to mean? You're saying the conductor did a great job with this choir and ought to have a better job than this one? Luther has a top-flight vocal music program. That fact is plainly evident in this phenomenal performance, the quality of which is what led to your bizarrely backhanded and contradictory comment.
He already has a great job at Yale! This last year, they had different temp replacements while they were looking for a new conductor. That's all.
Did Dr Hightower leave Luther College and go to University of North Texas a year ago?
Yes, and their new conductor is a Luther alum who sang in this selfsame choir.
Running out of superlatives here. I warn you -- like a Cuban cigar, the rest not match it.
Thank you, Carl!
