You know what hit me so hard about this? He is not asking for money, food, or clothes. He is not trying to scam or sell anything. He is begging for something we all get for free and take for granted. Companionship, camaraderie, friendship. This video should be used as a tool for understanding how important kindness is.
I'm 60 years old and I still think back to when I was about 7 or 8. There was this young Native American girl who had a cleft pallet. Kids were tormenting her and I will never forget the look on her face! I was to scared to say anything or get beat up myself. Wish I had it to do over again! 😞
The parents can only do so much. Most of the bully type kids in my school growing up had very good parents. They know what they’re doing is wrong.. so what can a parent do? I suspect a lot of those parents had no idea their kids were bullies. The ball is in the kids’ court. It’s up to the bullies, the bullied, and the people seeing it happen to manage it. After all it has existed as long as people have, and will until we don’t.
I love that he had the courage and strength to ask for help rather than turn inward to depression, sadness, anger and resentment. He knows that he’s a kid and kids need friends. Friendship is indeed essential to the soul. I hope he finds his real tribe! ❤
20 years ago I lived in an apartment complex. I was a father figure to a few kids and still keeping up with them as they started their own families. Something everybody should do.
This kid has more common sense, courage and KNOWLEDGE of his own emotions than 90% of adults in this country. He knew when he just need someone. Anyone. Kudos to the young parents-turned-friends.

This child shows us how easy it could be to spread light and heart in this world, if only we could get over our egos and come humbly to each other. The world desperately needs community and fellowship these days, we need to feel like a PEOPLE, not just individuals.
The fact that this kid had the emotional maturity to ask exactly for what he needed right at the moment he needed it is impressive. This young man is going places in life.
you're looking too deep into it, but that's white culture for you. "they were just playing around," "they were just having fun," "it was just an initiation, etc."

Idk, If I were his parents I'd be pretty worried, I mean having a 10 year old who just goes knocking randomly on strangers houses asking if you can hang out and be their friend. Who's to say he didn't knock on the wrong house and would spend the rest of the day crying having repeated sex with a paedo with low standards until he is killed. It's not like his parents would even know where he even is, since he didn't tell anyone he'd be there, the kid would literally just disappear.
@@ripeager9338 true, I know kids still roam the neighborhood in my area, they just don't go as far as I remember growing up. I don't let my kids roam like that unsupervised, but my neighborhood is relatively safe for this day and age.
'I need some friends, really bad' - After being bullied, I imagine the courage it took for him to speak this message so openly. What a special young man.
i’m only 15 going into my second year of high school and this broke my heart. i’ve always stood up to bullies for other people because that’s how i was raised by my mom. even though i’m these people’s friends now it still hurts me to know that someone can be so cruel to other people. as a “popular” kid at my school, some people will ask me why i’m friends with the “weird kids”… i always say there’s a lot more to them than they think because there really is. i’ve made friends with the kids that people will call ‘weird choir kids’, ‘unpopular goth kids’, and the mentally delayed kids. they’re amazing people and i’m glad to call them my friends.
Amen brother! Reminds me of when I was six in 1966 and we moved into a new town. Before the car got unloaded I walked half way down the block and made friends with another boy on a tricycle. He took me in the back yard to meet his entire family.... finally my Mom came looking for me and I was surround by lots of new friends....lol.

This video had me in tears, it really hit home for me. I was a chubby bullied kid in the 1970s. I had no friends. I was bullied emotionally, verbally and physically. It has left scars that will never be healed. For all of my 54 years I have had problem making friends because I have a trust issue and I automatically assume people don't like me. He's so adorable, I just want to give him a big hug and say it will be ok.
Same. I was bullied by a group of mean girls. I didn’t think it impacted me but it did. I still don’t trust, no real friends, and a fear of public humiliation was the result. 😢 Sending you love ladies
I hope this sweet boy is still being accepted and treated as an equal. He’s smart and full of personality and deserves all the best. Thank you for this beautifully uplifting story of compassion, kindness and grace. We need more hope like this.
The guts it takes to be this honest and vulnerable is something most adults couldn't even achieve... He'll be fine. Childhood passes in the blink of an eye. Head up young man. You've got friends all over the world now.
No he needs to toughen up. The real world's going to chew him up up and spit him out. If he doesn't begin to toughen up. He will be a suicide statistic. I'm not trying to be mean, it's just the reality of it
I'm 36 years old and I feel this kid's pain. I could really use some friends right now. I didn't have many friends growing up and I had always thought it would be easier as an adult. So so so wrong. It's way harder as an adult to find friends than as a kid, for me at least. I hope this kid receives the friendship he deserves. Good on you little buddy for being brave enough to pursue the search against all odds.
@Xyz-mr5ss a good way to meet people is to pick up a hobby. Golf, bowling, chess, shooting club, whatever. Try to find a class or something with a local rec center or join a league of some kind. Is there something you like to do? You can do it, you just have to reach out until you find your people.
@aaronshappybride I used to host 30 person LAN parties back in the day. They were tons of fun. Nobody I run into these days seems to have time or an interest in playing video games anymore it seems. Which really sucks because I finally have enough computers in my home for guests that they don't even have to bring one anymore lol. Aside from that I used to play a lot of Airsoft. My goodness it was exhilarating! I loved it. I brought a bunch of people together while playing and founded my old team. I fell out of touch with them all and ended up selling all my hear after a motorcycle accident I had about 10 years ago. Sold the bike too, eventually. I was going to kill someone the way I was riding, sigh (not proud of that, just the facts) - or myself. Glad I gave it up. I'm much safer on 4 wheels. :)
“I need some friends. Really bad” 😭😭😭 I pray that this young man grows up to continue to find the best friends ever. He has a heart of gold. Blessings to Shayden ❤
He’s such an articulate and self aware kid. Based on his personality you can tell he’s going to be an amazing guy with a really big heart when he grows up.
Based on his personality he's autistic... We're flock animals and he's just out for self perseverance... The reason he is so bold is the same reason as to why he's getting bullied. He has 0 understanding of social cues... With the right support he might end up like you say but apathy is a very strong trait amongst people with autism..
Jesus Christ wants a personal relationship with you through the Holy Spirit, not religion and blind faith. You see, we all have sinned, and have broken God’s law (The Ten Commandments). Wrong doing deserves justice and must be punished (just like how a criminal has to pay for the crime they have committed) but God saved us from the eternal punishment of our sins by sending His Son Jesus Christ, fullness of God in flesh, to pay the penalty for us by dying on the cross and resurrecting, so that we may have everlasting life. Now for you to accept the free gift of grace, you must repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ and Bible says that His Blood will cover all of your sins, you will be forgiven, saved from eternal punishment, and be given everlasting life. By faith you will receive the Holy Spirit, become born again, know Jesus personally and He will transform your heart and clean you from the inside out. Turn away from sin, read the Bible, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you and change you, obey the Word. Much love and God bless you!

Out of all of this, my favorite part of the entire thing is that he recognized that his so called "friends" were bullies and that he needed to drop them out of his life and find new friends. So many people cling on to toxic friendships because they don't want to be alone but sometimes hanging on and sticking with those toxic friendships can actually make you feel more alone and friendless than not having friends. I'm proud of this kid. I'm thankful that the home owner took time out of his day to talk to this kid. You can tell the kid really needed somebody to talk to. Not that his mom couldn't talk to him he probably just felt like he needed a non-family member to talk to. Good on the home owner for not shooing the kid off his porch. Teach your kids to not bully, and stand up for those being bullied.
An excellent message and important 😸👍

I agree with the first part but not the second. I don’t want my kids getting into problems that simply aren’t there’s

This kid is one tough cookie to put himself out there, good for him. His parents have to be proud!
Man... I was hurting for the little guy. Such a kind young man. I truly hope he finds true friends that appreciate him. He deserves it.

He doesn’t have to have a million friends, he just needs to be loved by his friends
Me to!! Not the age but the tear to my eye!!
Lmao... United Kingdom...
@@dandrealindsey5144looks like you have no idea of figure of speech . You also must have no friends ,not because they're bullies, but because you're annoying.
I hope this kid continues to have all the friends he'd ever want in life and I hope those bullies realize what an awesome friend they just lost. When they grow up and (hopefully) stop bullying, I hope they realize the huge mistake they made by bullying such a sweet friend.
Excellent points !!
Well said!
Exactly
I hope so too! ❤️ I hope the bullies learned a good lesson here
Yup and very well said! They missed out on a great friend. It is their loss not his.
This is so heart wrenching. Not everyone has the guts to say that they need friends. Everyone wants to be loved and needed by someone.
I think this kid's story is universal. Most people wouldn't have acted on it. What a brave thing to do.
I went to a few mentors just like that as a kid, elders always cared in my case and for the same reason, it takes a lot guts and I have no regrets.
I’m so relieved he found a really nice guy to confide in. What a gem this man is.
Poor kid glad it went well for him.
