He was flagged repeatedly, some scumbags that were elected gutted the ability to perform proper background checks when buying firearms.
Also literally the first bill trump signed was one that removed the checks for severe dangerous mental illness, which probably was the case for this kid. I'm sure you can guess who voted to move that bill forward.

kfc chan JUST as much society’s fault? Society is at fault sure, but he shot the gun. He made the plan, he executed the plan. Actions have consequences. Killing people has consequences. Us not fully understanding what creates a school shooter mentality, or not fully understanding how to implement the necessary changes, too has consequences. Our fault is that we do not get to every shooter before they act. It is the shooters fault for acting on it. There is ALWAYS a choice. All are at fault, the fault is not equal. It is our responsibility to learn from tragedies. It is not to accept equal responsibility for these tragedies. We have a responsibility to change I believe.
If a family gets a divorce, that is a tragedy for their children. Am I to say, the kids are EQUALLY at fault for it? No, I would be an absolute asshole. I would be foolish to say kids do not bring added stress to a family. Everyone has a piece in play, but just as it is ultimately up to the parents to divorce, it is ultimately up to the shooter to pull the trigger

  • @TampaTec

Remember who the victims are. Millions of people go through hard times too but you choose to be bitter or better. To be better you have to be stronger. Simply Unexcusable killing 17 unarmed kids but still gov should investigate what meds he was on and possible side effects from those meds.

The system failed him. And FBI failed those kids. He is mentally ill, showed signs of mentally unstable occurrences, have occasional conflicts and brush through with the police and no one did shit. He doesn't need to be put in a prison, he needs to be in a thorough psychiatric evaluation of his mental health and put in a mental hospital.

    • @taylorcobian3434
      @taylorcobian3434 4 года назад +3

Anon Anon I disagree. He had a choice whether or not to go in a high school and shoot 17 people. He had a choice. It was something he didn’t have to do. He needs to be in prison because he MURDERED 17 HIGH SCHOOL students. Those kids had so much ahead of them and Cruz decided to end their lives because he had his own issues. Mental health is SO NOT a reason to go on a shooting spree. I am having a hard time but never in a million years will I ever go into a high school and kill people. He did this to himself.

He was adopted and his adoptive parents both died. Even the kids in his school that knew him said that it was no suprise he did it.

The only sob stories that matter are the students stories that watched their friends die and the families who lost their child or children.

@nidya rangel There is a significant imbalance of poor mental health among males (specifically white males) comparative to the rest of society. In 2017 alone 75% of suicides were committed by men (according to the Australian bureau of statistics). You have to imagine that this somehow correlates to the cause of these shootings given how all the shooters backgrounds are 'coincidentally' similar. Its extremely relevant. Raising awareness to these facts do not in anyway justify or lessen the events taken place. Its an important discussion to be had and it could potentially dictate a step toward the prevention of these crimes in the near future.

I wouldn’t ever do it either. Let’s get facts straight here. Nikolas didn’t shoot up the school because had a “breakdown”. He did it because he planned on it for a long time. Meltdowns don’t cause people to plan mass shooting. 1. He commented on a video saying he wanted to be a professional school shooter 2. He threatened to do it a week before it happened 3. He posted guns and knives on Instagram 4. He posted pictures and videos of him killing frogs and squirrels witch is how some murderers start 5. He took an Uber to the school then shot it up.

The signs to me are everywhere, no man may know the day nor hour but we seem to be awful close. If that is what it takes for this world to finally change, and love, harmony and peace to become reality, I pray it comes soon!

The fact that you all are treating him like a “lost puppy” an “unfortunate child”. I’m in high school let me tell you a bit about my story. I was abused sexually on 3 different accounts ages 4-7. I was bullied for a big portion of my life to the point of multiple suicide attempts by classmates. I was physically abuse by my brother from the age of 8- 14. My father was never in my life never even called for a birthday and complained when I asked him for money for new clothes. My mother was there but never fully provided and let all of this things occur without a bat of an eyelash, very selfish had men, a drug addict, in and out my life . My grandparents used to have to drive 30-45 min almost everyday to bring me food sometimes a couple hours depending on the traffic. I went through severe depression and anxiety I had crippling intrusive thoughts and agoraphobia. And I’ve NEVER EVER and won’t EVER shoot up a school and take innocent lives due to MY trauma. You it’s are victimizing a predator. I’m now in high school myself a junior but I wouldn’t dare nor have I bought about it. HE IS A DISGUSTING THUG PIG. I bet if this person were darker skinned you would have no pitty and pray for the death penalty. And he’s 19 HES 19 not a fucking 9 year old.

Kendra Stevens Sweetheart I suffer from autism, ADHD, BPD, OCD, bipolar and schizophrenia I’m in the middle of struggling to get help. I was bullied my entire school career. I’ve had low self esteem and tried to commit suicide multiple times but guess what. I’ve never shot up a school nor have I ever thought about it. His “mental illness” and being “bullied” did not give him a free pass to shoot up a school and kill 17 innocent people. Families shouldn’t have to suffer the pain of losing a loved one all because of one mans issues. “It’s not all his fault”. So it’s not his fault he took an Uber to the school and shot it up. If it’s not his fault then who’s was it? Nobody put a gun to his head and told him to shoot up that school. He chose to do it. He planned the shooting for months and threatened to do it a week before it happened. If you payed attention he posted guns and knives and Instagram and posted pictures and videos of him killing frogs and squirrels and chickens witch is how some serial killers start.

Until he went to public normal high school and not schools for special needs.. And that's when he changed from wanting to kill himself to wanting to kill people.. I personally think the "real" school was too much for him.. And we all know kids are cruel.. Especially in high school.. And he didn't know how to handle it because of his autism and ADHD..

Maybe if instead of ridculing someone who clearly had problems, they had helped and shown some compassion people would not be dead. This does not excuse in any way the shooter's actions, but I do think that things could have been a lot different if someone had show some compassion and humanity at the right time before it became too late.

Schizophrenia is an uncontrollable "dream" just like when you jump off of a cliff in your dream and wake up when you hit the ground, you wouldn't jump off of a cliff in real life, so clearly you had no control. With schizophrenia you wake up, and realize it WASN'T a dream, yet you still have just as little control during it. There is an innocent side of him that had absolutely nothing to do with it. That doesn't make it forgivable or less of a horrific tragedy, i fully agree with that, so no need to preach to someone who already agrees. It doesn't come and go several times a day like in the movies, you are the negative version for weeks or months, and the positive version for an hour or two, then back to the negative for weeks or months again. Just remember your dreams/nightmares of falling, you can't control that any more than the positive good hearted side of him could control his "nightmare". I know this because i'm schizophrenic and i fully understand if you can't grasp the concept, i felt the same way most of you do for most of my life until i experienced it myself. Schizophrenia is fully splitting your mind into two people, one positive, one severely negative, and only one can be in control at a time. There is an innocent kid in his body, and a guilty kid in his body that killed 17 people. Unfortunately they're impossible to separate. Those who feel empathy for him feel it for the positive him, not the murderer. Cruz himself would thank you endlessly if you were able to execute the negative side without hurting the positive side. Again, murdering 17 kids is not excusable, i fully agree, so don't try to bash something into me that i already agree with, i'm just trying to help people understand how this happens.

The local authorities failed because of their incompetence. The FBI failed because they refused to follow protocol. The school failed. This is just sad.

Yes, what this kid did was wrong. There is no doubt about that. But it was more than evident that he had issues. Mental issues maybe depression issues and I doubt that anyone did anything to help him out because they didn't want to deal with a "troubled" kid. People too soon lose hope in these kids and teens which is why they end up being another statistic of prisons.
Also, I'm more than positive he was bullied at school. Bullying is hard I don't care what anyone says. You feel alone and hopeless. I saw a video where students from the Florida school mentioned that he "tried" to make friends yet never really "fit in". You know why this kid never really "fit in" because no one every gave him a chance. Everyone pushed him away... including his family. Kids can be cruel... I know this because I work with them.
Again if you see any alarming signs something should be done right away. Not until it is too late.
Treat everyone with love and compassion. Because you don't know what they might be going through

How did he get into the school with classes in session? We have to go to the main office, show ID. Our iD is scanned into the students record! We also have an armed officer sitting at the main entrance watching who enters and exits and the desk is also where the main hallway is to student classes! I don't understand why this can't be implemented in every school across the nation. They are there watching on site not outside. If there is a problem another officer is called to the office leaving the other officer at the entrance. They are not there filling in with other jobs around the school. They are watching! They talk to the kids, the kids feel comfortable telling them something if it's not right and if it needs to be investigated that's what they do! They do their job and we have lost millions in budget cuts for our school but our school system main agenda is keeping our students safe!!!!!

The problem, in my opinion, is the american system and the laws that they have. This guy was completely excluded from the society and from the school leaving him alone suffering and getting violent. The school failed in this case because did not had the sensibility or the willing in helping him.. they just ignored the problem and did not care about that!!! What is the role of the school than?? He's 19, he's an adult, he should know how valuable lives is by now, Especially the lives of young people who have a long future ahead, they can have a wonderful life, they can do what they want and finish their goals in the future but this depressed asshole came in and ruin everything ! Get your shit together instead of killing innocent students, it's not like I don't understand how hard it is to lose your love one and having to deal with life on your own, reaching out for help but there was no response.... But that is ABSOLUTELY NOT THE EXCUSE TO KILL STUDENTS, I'm amazed how many people ignore the people who died under his hand and just decided to defend him like it's okay to kill people as long as shits happen in your life !

We are all gonna lose our moms at some point but that doesn’t mean we are all gonna shoot up schools. How do you think the families of the victims feel? Do you see them shooting up schools? No honey people shoot up schools because they choose too? I been bullied my entire school career. As much as I hate my life and feel like I’ll be better off dead sometimes.
