Which Civ has the Strongest Siege Onager | Age of Empire 2

- Let's take a look on the best siege onagers in age of empires and try to find which civilization has the strongest. The strongest candidates are the Mongols with 50% faster moving siege workshop units, the Celts with fast creation time and faster attack rate, the Koreans with extra mangonel line range and the Teutons with extra melee armor. There are more civs like Dravidians, Ethiopians, Tatars and Portuguese and are put to the test against each other.

I wonder where Saracens with their +15% attack (from UT) would fit in.
I also think that Koreans with their range bonuses (both minimum range and max range) would have an easier time keeping their SO alive (Further range means they're easier to keep away from harm). Also means that they outrange other SOs, so they'd likely win in a straight-up fight (just need to shoot and retreat)
In an actual game Koreans are infuriating even before they get up to SO (which you never want). They were especially broken back when their UT gaev them +2 range
I removed saracens the last minute. If I had more that 8 civs available I would have added them. I know they could be at third or even second place but I opted for civs that you rarely see being compared.

Mongols and Ethiopians are easily the best IMO although Celts seem to stack the most cumulative bonuses. They still can’t beat how good the speed or blast radius are though

Priorities: speed > range > survive 1 oranger shot > more damage (Saracen) > others, because micro accuracy matters vs archer or another onager

Ironclad is by far the worst when it comes to onager because even with 4 armor, it doesn't always guarantee that your onager will survive.
When it comes to damage vs building or against a lot of units, Saracens is on the 2nd place.
Ironclad is better by a very small degree. Almost unnoticeable. Only against other onagers sometimes works.
Celts are best overall, but many have good bonus……koreans mongols are very good also

I talk about ethiopians in the end. It's not a fair comparison for them. They shine in real time playing games rather than test.
In Pro level Hands, Korean SO. In Noob hands, Celts (They do more damage w/o micro and player's gonna lose them all anyways).

My dude, i get that you're trying to do a SOTL like channel. But please dont do things like the race between generic (in speed terms) siege onagers bcuz we already know mongols go faster, feels like you're treating the audience as 8 y/o kids. And separate the units when you're doing attack tests like in 3:28 so other units dont rush in
No I don't try to be like SOTL, he has match deeper knowledge of the mechanics than I do.
Not everybody knows that mongols siege onagers are the fastest, we are not all high elo players like you here neither 8 years old as well.
According to your logic I should make a 5 seconds video saying "hey guys, since you know everything, then Celts has the best onager, bye."
If you feel like you can't watch the videos, while many can, just live your dislike and move along. I don't usually reply to rude comments but there you go.
Celtic SOs are the best, because they get the bonus right off the bat, and it remains relevant throughout the game.
Second place goes to the Koreans, because +1 range makes them even more effective against archers, and gives them an edge against bombard cannons. It requires imperial age and a castle though, so the bonus only applies in late game.
Mongol goes third, as the speed bonus also needs imp and a castle first; but is mostly helpful in microing SOs, which not every player is able to do properly.

Slavs. It doesn't matter what setting you play in, cost matters. Even in post imp DM. Every other civs have to pay for extra upgrades to get what they have. Bulgarians also deserve a mention as runner up. Most of the time we don't see SO on 1v1 is because of their brutal upgrade cost.

True to be said, Slavs have a great advantage when playing in real games. But celts are better imo..
