- Today, we take Ike's 1964 Buick Skylark for a drive, which is equipped with a Buick 350 small block, and a two speed automatic transmission. This car was rescued from a field a few years ago; Ike nursed it back to health, and it has been very reliable ever since.
Thanks for Watching!

She's purdy. love old buicks.
Love my Buicks. Had a 69 Electra 225 convertible about 10 years ago. 455 4 barrel and just rode like a wet dream. I sure do miss that car. Don't change anything about the looks of that ride Ike. Even the big rust holes give it character.
this is my favourite of Ike's rides so far. thanks for sharing :)
I've got a 64 Buick special with the aluminum motor your talking about and man I can't complain. Reliable and looks good plus frys the wheels till third lol
Cool. That would be a 215 ci Buick if it's all aluminum and a carry over engine from 63. My 64 Skylark 2dr came from the fractory with a 300 ci engine with aluminum heads, aluminum intake and a 4 brl carb. Buick motor division told Me back in 86 when I boughth the car it was a 4300 v8 series car that was the daddy to the 65 Grand Sport Buick according to My vin number.
Ike you are the man i aspire to be! I have four cars (85 K20 4wd suburban, 86 D100, 79 Malibu, and a 83 foxbody mustang, want to add a lot more) I look forward to seeing all your other rides, you are definitely a "older the better" kinda guy.
thanks
We're looking into a solution for the audio. Thanks for your feedback!
Should I header my Tecumseh 6.0
I would really love to see you guys restore that piece of history!
+awesomedude113322 Google it
i have never even seen anyone do that. i know on my 75 dodge truck to fit the 440 in it had to remove the brake power booster
thanks
I dig it Ike. I used to have a '64 Buick Electra 225 (Deuce & a Quarter) w/401 Nailhead. That thing would float down the highway. Same front end as yours, but that Electra was about twice as long.
cool
Just saw one of those today with a 440 big block
and almost a foot wider too.
Ike's rides rocks. Any video you guys make is a good one.
thanks
Best of Ikes cars yet !! cruise that ride ...
Love the Buick 350's, had one in a 69 lesaber 4bl ran it in the bomber class at a local track, won 13 races over 2 years. One tough engine, and car to boot.
I constantly forget to say this to ya'll but, Thank You! I get so much enjoyment from your videos. Can't really express how much I look forward to them.
I love how original paint jobs have risen in popularity. It retains sooo much more character to me.
I got a 72 skylark and it's got a new (not anymore) paint job 1 owner, 350 motor, single exhaust (soon to be fixed).
but yea love the video!
thanks
thats the most beautiful car i have ever seen
I really enjoy these, thanks for the entertainment guys! it'll be fine
Love the 60's GM cars with full frame.
I've had My 64 Skylark 2dr for 33 years.
I love it. I would drive it just like that. Love the rusty green. Love that interior.
Loved the different angles and exhaust shots at the end
OK, very cool. I've had a 64 S/L since 1989 and still runs great today. Looks like someone started to remove the wide trim on the side of yours like I did on mine. I welded up the holes and shaved the hood and trunk and sides as well. I painted mine in the driveway and the car looks great without the WIDE chrome on the side. Also '65 Skylark wheels look killer on these cars. The 300 "aluminum" engine had been replaced by 64 with a iron block with aluminum heads and also an aluminum timing cover. I real bear to work on because of tendance for bolts to seize in the aluminum and break off. My turbo 300 2 speed transmission still works fine. Enjoyed your video very much.
thanks
Duuuuuuude, how have i not seen this video?? Those cars make the best drag cars with the wheel base they have!! 468 big block, 4 speed, posi,,, drag the bumper all day long
I love the old stuff!
I have an old 4 speed lying around, that would unleash that thing.
love the way it looks and reminded me of roadkill
I got a special place in my heart for the 60's skylarks
never change that car ike! mother natures paint job is awesome and free!!!! can't imagin what the interior smells like haha cool ride
This is the first 64 I've seen in a really long time!! The engine I have came out of a interior burned car that was donated to our auto shop in 85! But we got it running and did massive burnouts! Lol
Man I love this series
I like this series keep them coming

dad had a 64 special with the 300. nice car he kept it longer then any other car he owned
That's a pretty cool old car, I had a 66 chevy impala back in the 80's it had a 2 speed power glide trans. It wasn't that fast top end, but it got there quick.
these videos are bad ass finally someone making some bad ass go karts and mini bikes good job guys
thanks
A neighbour of mine has one of these in brown. Not restored from what I can see. The thing sounds amazing, and I haven't ever heard it even mildly stressed. Just cruising along.
It took me one day to get to view this and you're up over 225,000. Way to go.
You guys are awesome.
thanks
For a car with an engine a year older than me its sounds bloody fantastic
Awesome, Love me some Buicks..
Thank you for staying Buick especially in the engine
I love the car. Seriously, somebody did a good job putting that car together with spare parts. Hey, small wonder, it's North Carolina with a 1964 North Carolina license plate. Yes those aluminum V8's were sought out for racing. Those and the F-85 Oldsmobiles.
I'd love to see you guys take a car out of the junkyard and try to get it running, that would be really cool few episodes!
Awesome!!!! I had a lot of cars when I was younger but never a Skylark.... Most of my cars looked like that I didn't have much money but I had fun !!!!!
Right on
Same here. Mine were usually in way worse shape. Best one out of all of them was a 1965 Dodge Polara with the 383cid. Every option on it worked!
LOVE THIS CAR!!!!
thanks
i want to see more if ikes rides i love it. and if thet dont run well oh well that would a another great video
Love this video! Reason being I have a 1964 Buick special 2 door post!
cool. what engine do you have?
Ike does the best impression of Ricky-Bobby aka Will Ferrel I've ever heard
let's get to the build off!!! I'm so excited
Rat! Love it! You guys always make me smile!
thanks
Sweet Ride. I love old cars :)
thanks
As always, really enjoyed your video.
thanks
Sweet Buick! No jems like that in the junk yards here. Stuff gets picked clean within a couple days here.
that's the My cousin Vinnie car. awesome
Nice skylark Ike. I love these videos
thanks
Love that car man!
you guys deserve every subscriber you get keep it up guys!!!!
This is awesome i like ikes rides and when yall race the karts round the lawn
Wher is the 53 now go man go
But I don't want to let you know what I thought of it! You guys are great. Wish I had your knowledge. Best wishes for both of you!
three things i like. One, its old. Two, it runs. Three, slotted mags are my favorite.
thanks
A buddy of mine in high school had a '70 Skylark with a 350 Buick. He went into the army and took his car with him and built the motor in it after basic. When he came back it would run high 13's in the quarter mile on street rubber. Doesn't sound terribly impressive but bear in mind that aside from a chrome air cleaner and a set of headers the engine looked stone stock.
That car is awesome! So much potential! I would love to see when you guys work on it... perhaps a project series?
These shared almost everything with the Chevelle/Malibu that also came out in 1964.
Sweet car, I love that patina
thanks
keep it up guys. always good videos.
looks better then the one I had. I had a 76' skylark four door with a sluggish 305
I have an old 65 convertible 310 wildcat in the garage that hasn't been started since 1984. It was running great until the neighbors couple of old goats went thru the top. Dad took the ins. Money and covered it up! I need to get this thing out and see if she'll fire
Love the car, my dad has a 63 Le Sabre 2 hardtop with the wildcat engine. Buicks are sweet, nice vid.
thanks
IKE IS THE ONLY REASON I WATCH,HIS CARS A COOLER THAN THE ARTIC
@CarsandCameras so damn cool to finaly see a Buick !!! all i see is chevys and ford and i cant see why more folks arent into Buick !? its a good patina and cool car you got there !thanx for showing us !
your welcome
Loev soem ol Bufords...one of my buds had a 72 skylark that someone "did up" in the 70s with the air shocks and n50 rear tires , sittin on keystones 😂...not a look enjoyed by all, but I kinda liked it.
MrTheHillfolk
eny pics to show ?? id love to see it !! we has a 1962 ss that was a blast ! really few left over here , but one in great condition up north ive seen a cuple of times , elderly pair s got it !
+transdetendal man I wish.
And i haven't seen my bud in years.
It was a light green metallic with a tan vinyl top.
Even though it had a 2 barrel 350 it would do a powerbrake or leave about 20 feet of tire squeal off the line from a flatfoot...this was the late 80s , I think he paid around 3500, which was pushing sanity back then
MrTheHillfolk
HAHA it still is !! but he got a good working car and for that ,money is no hinder !!
Good ole car and at least a fella can work on it not like the junk that's built after the 80s. Thanks for the ride!
The aluminum block v8 was discontinued the model year before this one but the Buick 350 didn't come out for 3 more years
Yes it was but Buick motor division carried over some of their left over 215s to the 64 model year the changed to a 300 cubic inch engine with aluminum heads, intake and a 4brl Rochester like what came stock in My 64 Skylark 2dr 4300 series pillarless coup( no door post and no full frame windows like the 64 Special had)
Nice one Ike. Restore the poor ol girl !
thanks
Love these, keep making them!
love the old school v8, cat. sounds good.
Fantastic ride will Ferrell
hey guys I liked this episode alot, you need to feature more classic cars, I know ike has more hiding
oh yea
because of the car its awesome ! !!
I liked this episode because my cousin Vinny told me to
i got it
love it. would not change a thing about it. ( well maybe i would put a th350 with locking converter ) the patina on it is perfect.
better audio and awesome car! spunds awesome!
sounds.
now call it the six pack and it needs a resto with a 4 speed in the floor!
+Duncan Czeizinger id be cool to leave it alone, but being in the east she's gonna fade away unless ya treat it like a summer car and keep it garaged and outta the weather and all...
maybe just make it solid again, patch up the quarters correctly but don't worry about painting the area mint again, just use some spray paint to try and make the patina correct....there's a world of possibilities
MrTheHillfolk oh no, id clear coat the exterior and completely refurbish the interior, outside looks old and cool inside is where resale value comes in.
+Duncan Czeizinger
feel free to maybe do some safety and handling upgrades at that point maybe..mild brake upgrades...
I forgot what chassis that's called in the gm world , but I'm sure you could go mild or build a G machine with the aftermarket, and yea keep the patina outside
Not bad, decent car, performs ok for a two speed slush box! I have one in my 65 442
nice ride u don't see those that often thinking about starting a carsandcameras California edition!!!!!!!!
You have good taste. reminds me of my favorite car, a rusty '64 Belvedere. And yeah, these cars need a dual master cylinder.
I like this episode better because that car is badass and the rust makes it. Maybe give her a tune up 😎
thanks
I wish Ike had his own channel just working on his rides!!!!
Love the car! New to the channel but really enjoying it! Can't get my own shit done!
that was a 300 ci Buick motor - cast iron block, aluminum heads but only on 1964. In 65 it was a 300 iron block. 350 is a good motor, tons of torque. Watch the oil pressure on that motor - they have a nasty tendency of spitting out rods if the oil pressure gets too low (and it's always pretty low).
That's a nice car. leave it just the way it is. Run watcha brung!!
My moms last name is not Barrymore but my name is Collin and I am a huge fan of yours. You guys are the awesome!
thanks
Ike seems like the type of guy to own a v8 s10
