Studying Ladino, Sephardic, Sumerian, ancient Arabic and other dead or lost cultures and languages' music for a book I am writing. I found this very helpful. God bless you, and thank you for sharing your beautiful culture and heritage with me.

Such beautiful music. It touches my soul. How sad that so many of us lost such a beautiful heritage. I am the only one in my family who, thanks to Hashem, blessed is He, has been able to discover my ancestry. May Hashem, blessed be He, brings us back to Jerusalem in unity as He has promised. They robbed us of our hard worked belongings, and killed millions of us, but our soul belongs to our Master of the world, the Most High G-d. Soon we will be back together again. B"H

Every time I listen to this music I feel enchanted by the beauty of our G-d who created such melodies, and people. B"H

Wow the chorus from that first song is the verse from Boney M’s “Rasputin”, plus or minus a fifth here and there.

Very beautifull presentation! Wonderfull music! One should mind that ladino or judeo spanish is basically medieval castilian added up of several hebrew words.

During each song introduction, the English is spoken slowly for easy understanding, but the Turkish and Hebrew(?) is uttered so fast that it's hard to comprehend. It would be OK if a supplemental text were included in the Description. We would love to know the names of the songs, and the vocabulary words defined. Thanks!

Nice. I believe most musics were sung in ladino tough. Which is basically medieval castilian enriched by hebrew (and maybe turkish?) words. I speak some passable spanish (and portuguese is my native tongue) and i was able to understand many of the ladino words on the songs.

That bowed instrument is called a Lyra (among the Greeks) or Kamanche (among the Turks and Armenians) and is played in Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Armenia.

@@cindyscarr3163 I am so sorry to hear that. As a youngster back in those days I had a bit of a crush on her but as I grew older she became more of an inspiration. I wish she would have been around to see the success that she became later in the social spectrum and the influence she had on many.

You are obviously a miserable human being... And follower of this god of yours who, taught Torah, he never called himself a god, but son of G-d Most High, because he was a Jew, if he really existed. We, the Jewish people, have the most High G-d on our side. That is the reason why these beautiful, humble people are singing such beautiful music, and obviously, you seem to be jealous of such beautiful spirit. I hope, and pray, that you find the Most High G-d, Creator of the universe, and repent before you end up in your hell, and burn for an eternity in your excrement of fire. May the Most High forgive you for your hatred. If you repent before you leave this world.

Jesus teaches that you have committed murder against these people in your heart with your hurtful language. Remember that slanderers will not inherit the kingdom of God. Those words are from Jesus' own lips. Lastly, these people and all people, are made in the very image of God, and to insult and slander them is to insult and slander the God you serve. @Michael Brennan, you should apologize in your heart, repent to Christ, and ask your jewish brothers and sisters here for forgiveness, a forgiveness you are unworthy of, but which I hope they will extend to you out of love for their G-d. Bless you, and bless you all. Peace.
