  • This is a Late Roman, 15 mm army representing the armies of Rome between 250 and 650 A.D. the figures are painted using Essex, old glory, lye goo heroica and forged in battle figures. The rules that I use to play with this army have been predominantly hail, Caesar. I am open however to using to the strongest, Armati, Meg and Impetus. I hope you enjoy this video and hope that it will help you to build a Roman army in your fashion and white makes sense for you and your gaming.

Just starting my research on my 15mm Roman army. Videos such as these give a good feel for what's out there. Thanks.

I had fun doing my research, painting the shields and adding, of course a little license to my art. I hope my video helps inspire you and give you some ideas.

Fantastic looking big army arrayed across the table. It is an interesting period of change and fracturing of the old society, plus it overlaps ‘Arthurian’ Britain as a possible opponent.

Intriguing timing with this video Kevin! I am actually nearly done reading The Winter King from Bernard Cornwell which takes place about a century after the Western Roman Empire collapsing and is a retelling of the Arthurian legend. Seems a shame to not have played with that army at least once! I was thinking about looking into Dux Britanniarum in 15mm using Forged in Battle miniatures but I seem to plan and think about projects and don't actually pull the trigger. Not sure why that is but it is what it is. I think its because I have far too many interests in historical periods. I like the look of your army! Thanks for showing it off! Rules wise I am stuck between liking Field of Glory and porting GMT's Great Battles of History to miniature form.

We talked about that. All rules are good. I found it really comes down to the company that you spend on the people that you were with. In reality, I could care less what rules we’re playing or what we’re doing is so long as the people there are having fun, laughing, joking and busting each other’s chops, that’s a good old American term 🤗. But there are many armies in my inventory that I’ve never really played with so my goal is to at least play one time with each army I own thank you always for writing such interesting things to me. I appreciate it you’re a good mate !

@@thekrausecollection15mmmin53 All rules have their ups and downs. I agree its about the people you game with. My enthusiasm waxes and wanes because I really don't have a group. Busting chops is always a fun past time especially if its with people you know and will bust your chops back. You are quite welcome! I enjoy our back and forth discussions and your videos a great deal. I just wish I could push past my own inability to create such vast armies in miniature.
