i discovered The Sound just after i graduated high school in 1990, just in time to miss them :( . all through the 90s i listened to them non stop as they became my all time favorize band, and i remember all those years and how much i loved them and i barely had any idea what they even looked like. i had barely seen any photos of them and i had certainly never seen any video of them.
then for Christmas of 2000 i got my very first computer and the first thing i did was search the sound and Adrian Borland, just in time to find out he had just passed the year before. once again i was just late, i would have loved to have been able to tell Adrian what his music means to me. THAANK YOU SO MUCH for this great upload.

As a portuguese citizen, the amount of cringe I felt while watching this interview cannot be put into words. The guy clearly was oblivious to The Sound's worth and to the whole post-punk scene in the UK.

Now even the shit shows won’t play great underground music - this was an age in which if you did something slightly different then it would get some recognition .

Yes it does, very condescending. Probably not the best show to host The Sound but there weren't that many tv shows happpening at that time that could. I didn't see it at the time, but surely loved to watch it now. Thanks for the video.

BTW, the name of the TV show was 'Arroz Doce' (meaning 'Rice Puding') presented by Júlio Isidro.

Adrian looked healthy here and nice performance even though it's lip synced but how disrespectful of the interviewer....

The interviewer is like a Portuguese Alan Partridge.
