I like this band. "Down Under" is their most popular hit. Others are: "Be Good Johnny" "Overkill" "It's A Mistake" "Everything I Need" "Dr. Heckyll & Mr. Jive" "High Wire" The lead singer, Colin James Hay went solo in the 80's and beyond and did "Hold Me" "Can I Hold You" "Are You Lookin' At Me" "Looking For Jack" "Puerto Rico" "Master Of Crime" and more. There's also a band called Men Without Hats, check out these songs from them: "Pop Goes The World" ( my favorite) "Safety Dance" "Moonbeam" If you want a sax solo, I suggest the band Arcadia (two members from Duran Duran are in it) with their extended song "Election Day" there's a solo at the end.
For more SAX check out DURAN DURAN's "Rio" which is both a great song and a beautiful video. Men at Work are really just a quirky, fun 80's pop band. Often labels like "rock" are just applied to anything that isn't classical or hip hop. "Down Under" is definitely the song everyone will recommend as the next Men at Work song (they're from Australia).
Among the great musical acts to come from Australia. This is one of their biggest hits. 'Down Under' is probably their signature tune. It is a love letter to the country of Australia. Also try 'Overkill' by them as well. You might want to try some other Australian musical performers such as Olivia-Newton John, Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia, Judith Durham (the Seekers), Little River Band, AC/DC, INXS. Great channel, Mia.💞💕
Colin Hay (lead singer) is an absolute legend here in Australia Check out his song ‘Waiting for my real life to begin’ The live performances with his wife are adorable!!! Something tells me you will really vibe with it Thanks Mia 💯♥️🇦🇺
I knew this song would win you over at the start. There's a song, which Billboard magazine described as "the most recognizable sax riff in pop music history". It's called, "Baker Street", and it's by Gerry Rafferty. Don't get turned off by the fact that it only has 33 million views. It's from 1978, which is pre-MTV and RUclips days.
Hi Mia ..great reaction .this song is so catchy..one of my favorite from the 80's .its considered 80's pop rock..the 80's to me had some of the best music still played to this day. and the videos were fun..the whole 80's alone was the best decade...men at work had videos that were like skits..but they had great music...one of my other favorites by them is..." Overkill "..so many 89 song to suggest to you ..that you can't go wrong with any of the..you can also try the band Wall of Video and their hit " Mexican Radio "..really catchy..or Duran Duran who had a lot of hit. One of them is " Rio" ..who played a lot of sax which I know you like....ok well take care ..🙏😎
Loved Men at Work, what a great era of down under music, NZ and Aussie rocked back then! So many great bands both side of the Tasman🤘 One of the biggest crimes against music, is the loss of mainstream musicianship and instrumentals real artists can actually play and create on! We have lossed some of the best instruments ever created in our music, Sax, drums, guitars, organs, Synth just to name a few, I include any other genre in that, be it classical, orchestral or country instruments, our era weren't afraid to use anything and create or make new instruments! Lossed art form to the masses☹
I'm glad you like this song, and how unique the lead singer is. Men at Work was a rock group formed in the 80's in Australia. You should also check out their song, "Down Under."
A few songs off the top of my head that feature a saxophone are "It's Raining Again" by Supertramp, "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty, "I Can't Go for That" by Hall and Oates (Also their song "Maneater" which I saw you use in your Instagram), and "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me" by Billy Joel.
Thank you mia fir another amazing reaction always a pleasure watching Ur reaction hope you had an amazing weekend ur so pretty aswell that's a compliment for you ❤
These guys were big when I visited Australia with the United States Navy in 1983. We were on a World Deployment on the Aircraft Carrier USS CARL VINSON CVN-70. They had a couple of hits in the 80s.
Mia men at work were big from my home Australia. Listen to land down under but if you want to hear what l think was one of the biggest bands out of Australia listen to inxs and the saxaphone in there band will blow your mind. Loving your channel. ❤
Unlike the song, I love to always keep the door open to happily welcome all the people who with their generosity offer me their welcome friendship and company. Listening to Fausto Papetti's sax in the background makes my hospitality more pleasant. 🌺
The song you reacted to was from there debut album called Business as usual. The Album spent 15 weeks at 1 in America 🇺🇸 and was one of the most successful albums in America for an Australian group. They won a Grammy award for best new artist off this album in 1983. It also spent 5 weeks at 1 in the United Kingdom in from late 1982 to early 1983. It was one of the highest selling albums in Australia in the 80s. "Down under" another single from this album was a massive hit, spent 5 weeks at 1 in America from January 1983. It also went to 1 in Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Italy and Switzerland (top 10 in many other countries). "Be Good Johnny" another single from this album, it was another hit, it went to No 3 in America and New Zealand and a top 10 hit in Australia.
Definitely more pop than rock, but there's some definite rock elements in there, with the guitars, bass and drums. Men at Work had a handful of massive hits before disbanding; my face is "Overkill," which also features some strong sax. This is an anthem for me and my fellow introverts! Sax solos are a defining feature of 80s music. You can find them all over the place. Keep up the great work!
This falls into a genre known as 80s Rock. Classic 80s hit! Great reaction! A couple of more songs with some nice sax solos are "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" by Christopher Cross and "Runnin' Thru The Fire" by John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band.
The subgenre of rock in the 80s was "new wave" ... More danceable than harder rock... And you're right about sax... Sonny Rollins and Coleman Hawkins were my study jams getting my degree.
A great song from 1982. The lead singer actually had lived in an apartment with alot of shady people, (even those doing drugs) who would knock on his door and disturb him. I love how people channel what they are feeling or their situations through music. A great way of expressions. Glad you chose this song! If you want to do another great song from around the same time. I recommend "The One You Love" a great 1982 mellow ballad with a great Sax solo also. It is by former Eagles lead, The late Glenn Frey. A beautiful song. If you want to react to another Michael Bolton Song which also features Kenny G on Sax, I recommend the 1990 hit song, "Missing You Now". Great reaction Mia!
This was their second US hit and made them famous beyond Australia ! This was also part of their first album Cargo which I think went multiple platinum globally
The US had an odd fad for all things Australian in the 80s, best exemplified by the first two Crocodile Dundee movies. And honestly Paul Hogan's career in general. Men At Work, especially their most famous song in the US, Down Under, falls into that by playing up the Australian imagery. Although they're often considered a one-hit wonder, they had a number of successful singles crack the Billboard Top 10, including this one (which, like Down Under, reached the top). Nonetheless, their success in the US was relatively brief. The video for Down Under is also pretty typically 80s goofiness. I REALLY want to see you react to some classic jazz. Charlie Parker, Johnny Hodges, Lester Young, Cannonball Adderly, John Coltrane. Duke Ellington's performance of Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue from the 1956 festival at Newport had an EPIC 7-minute solo by tenor saxophonist Paul Gonsalves. The saxophone is often considered the instrument closes to mimicking the flexibility, range, and tone of the human voice, which is one reason why it resonates so readily with listeners. Jazz songs to react to: The aforementioned Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue (Newport, 1956) I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good) off the same concert is a great one to showcase what made Johnny Hodges Johnny Hodges Prelude to a Kiss - Duke Ellington/Johnny Hodges Kim - Charlie Parker Anything off Charlie Parker with Strings (Bird actually had a love of classical music, which greatly influenced the development of bebop) My Favorite Things - John Coltrane Take 5 - Dave Brubeck Quartet All Blues - Miles Davis (featuring Coltrane and Cannonball Adderly) Actually, pretty much anything off Kinda Blue. One of THE greatest jazz albums of all time, and perhaps the best-selling. That's a wide range from Big Band to Bebop, West Coast, Cool, and Modal, yet still barely scratches the surface.
Another stellar choice of 80s band; lovely Ms Mia. I also recommend ‘Come on Eileen’, Billy Idol’s ‘Rebel Yell’, ‘Flesh for Fantasy’ and ‘White Wedding’
Mia, I'm sorry to hear you saying that people are giving you a hard time. On the other hand, this song seems a long way out of your comfort zone, and I'm really happy to see you checking it out! Good for you!
Mia, you're looking stunning as usual. Good content, beautiful reaction and excellent editing. But I still would love some information concerning that Rodeo sweetie. Can you provide that information for me? I really would appreciate it. Thank you so much special, girl. Have an extraordinary day 🙏🏽
❤well well my dear you have just broke into the 80s So so much great music from this era great songs with sax in them Super Tramp and the Logical song , David Bowie the song is Modern Love there where great groups like Tears for fear their song Everybody wants to rule the world, REM with Its the end of the world I can go on for ever . Please give some of these a try I have been watching your channel almost everyday. I love your reactions we are here for you ❤
Love your channel, I look forward to your reactions every day. If you’re looking for a song with a saxophone I recommend Lily was here by Candy Dulfer and Dave Stewart. Candy is a badass saxophonist while Dave is amazing on guitar. Te music video is great but I really love the live version it is amazing. Thank you Mia take care
Men at Work are an Australian band. I'm not from Australia, I'm from Minnesota. More Prince. His version of "Motherless Child" is pretty good, as is "Let's Go Crazy". As always, delightful reaction. More Prince.
Wow, remember playing this great album on vinyl back in the day. Colin Hay and the boys. Jazz...Straight No Chaser. and for great saxophone...John Coltrane A Love Supreme : )
I heard they were real construction workers from Australia, thus the name. The singer has a glass eye. I wonder if it was related to his job in construction? Btw, I love the saxophone, so we can be mates, mate. 💕 🎷
Mia, if you’re from Houston you probably know all about ZZ Top. But if not, they’re a 3-man southern rock/blues band from Houston formed in 1969 and known as “that little ol’ band from Texas”. The lead guitarist, Billie Gibbons, was one of Jimi Hendrix’s favorite guitarist. For 51 years they kept the same lineup in the band, Billie Gibbons (lead guitar/vocals), Frank Beard (drummer), and Dusty Hill (bass guitar/backup vocals), which I believe is a record. Unfortunately the band's bass player, Dusty Hill, passed away in 2021. In any case they’re a fun band to watch and they have a style all their own. Please check them out. Girl, for goodness sake, PLEASE react to Rio, by Duran Duran. It will take your love of the sax to a whole other level. 😉 Also, another amazing Aussie band with incredible sax is INXS.(in excess). Check out Never Tear Us Apart.
Coming from the generation who grew up on this music reactors are now checking out...one thing I notice is, that reactors stop the songs WAY too soon and start judging the song's meaning sounds, and era way too soon after starting the song. We never approached the music this way. But I get it.
Australian band INXS have some great songs including What You Need and Never Tear us Apart with Sax solo's Mia, check them out cheers. Thanks for another great reaction.
Always thought Men at Work had a unique sound. They didn't have a lot of hits in the US, but they carved out a decent career. Definitely leans pop. Sounds a bit like The Outfield on "Your Love".
Yes, Mia, this is pop rock. Bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden are lnown as heavy metal. "Down Under" is their biggest hit in the states but they have a few more. Mia, I know a jazzy song you will like. It's called "Moondance" ny Van Morrison.
Mia I seen your drop on the white stripes they done a tour in Canada years ago*under great northern lights* you will love it the Drummer is his sister. Black Jack Davey, we could be friends, slowly turning into you. Ect. You'll love it. You can pull some of this footage up. Be cool stay safe.
Hola ! This is an Australian band early 80’s 81 or 82 this is the only album I’ve ever heard from them but they were Dope the lead singer sounds like Phil Collin’s from genesis, the sax is also one of my favorite instruments mi madre wouldn’t let me join band cause of asthma 😔 😂 but it’s alll good. You should check out Bruce Springsteen and the E side band there’s a saxophonist by the name Clarence that plays for that band & he’s bad ass!!! & MIA! MIA ! MIA YOU going to miss out on a lot of great songs if you only go by streams 😂 😂 streams don’t tell the full tale on music salute 🫡 fly girl oh this is not Rock this is New wave with elements of pop music
If you love sax you must listen to David A. Stewart - Lily Was Here ft. Candy Dulfer. Stewart is a genius guitarist. And Candy is a very good saxofonist.
Men at Work's - Down Under is a great jam!! Give it a listen.
I love It’s a Mistake and Overkill
I like the music video Dr Heckyll & Mr. Jive 😅
@ omg I remember that video
@@barryserpa5174 fantastic songs, both!

I remember when this song came out . My stepfather liked this group . So heard it in the car with him . Another great reaction Ms Mia ❤
You want a top tier sax solo? "Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS. Check it out.
Yes ❤
INXS used the sax brilliantly in a number of their songs.
Loved Men at Work, what a great era of down under music, NZ and Aussie rocked back then! So many great bands both side of the Tasman🤘

This brings back memories. YEARS AGo,,, first song I learned when taking drum lessons
One of the girls at work has this as her ringtone. I hear it about 40 times a day.
Even though they look like accountants, they can lay down a good groove. And inventive melodies by the singer.
I'm glad you like this song, and how unique the lead singer is. Men at Work was a rock group formed in the 80's in Australia. You should also check out their song, "Down Under."

There's another Rock Song + Sax Combo, that's similar to this, it's Glenn Frey - You Belong to the City.
Thank you mia fir another amazing reaction always a pleasure watching Ur reaction hope you had an amazing weekend ur so pretty aswell that's a compliment for you ❤
Men at Work is an Australian Pop Rock, New Wave and Reggae Rock. That way they are described by Google. Down Under is the biggest hit they have
I love the Saxaphone and Men at work great 80S Band
These guys were big when I visited Australia with the United States Navy in 1983. We were on a World Deployment on the Aircraft Carrier USS CARL VINSON CVN-70. They had a couple of hits in the 80s.
Mia!! Review “”Quarterflash-Harden my Heart”!! saxophone heaven!!😁😁
It’s been a long time since I’ve heard this song. I remember the group from the 80s and I like the music.😍🎶
My new favorite channel!! 🔥🔥🔥
It was played on a rock channel. The radio, in rotation. I grew up on this music as well as country and rap. ❤
Mia men at work were big from my home Australia. Listen to land down under but if you want to hear what l think was one of the biggest bands out of Australia listen to inxs and the saxaphone in there band will blow your mind. Loving your channel. ❤
Ian Dury and the Blockheads - Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick. If you want to hear mad, filthy sax, that’s your song!
And it was used in David Tennant's doctor who
Very old !!!! that's me this band was cool they had their moment of glory that pay off well .
The song “Urgent” by Foreigner has an amazing saxophone solo. I’m sure you’d love it!
Unlike the song, I love to always keep the door open to happily welcome all the people who with their generosity offer me their welcome friendship and company. Listening to Fausto Papetti's sax in the background makes my hospitality more pleasant. 🌺

They were a good band.
Multiple hits.
Awesome reaction babe❤
The subgenre of rock in the 80s was "new wave" ... More danceable than harder rock...
And you're right about sax... Sonny Rollins and Coleman Hawkins were my study jams getting my degree.
I loved this band since they exploded onto the scene in the 80's
Hey Mia! 🖐🙂 One of these days, I might actually be able to concentrate on the video you're playing, but you make that very difficult! Lol! 😆 🩷⚘️
Great 80's song and that Sax!!! Thanks for the awesome reaction.
A great song from 1982. The lead singer actually had lived in an apartment with alot of shady people, (even those doing drugs) who would knock on his door and disturb him. Her last several videos she mentions her love for Kenny G. Since she listens to jazz, Kenny is right up there on her list.
Thank you for letting me know that.😊
As always great reaction Mia - mi entiendes? Si? Thank you! No suggestions. Take care
Mia, we are definitely friends because I love that sound of saxophone too!!! Awesome song!! ❤️
This was their second US hit and made them famous beyond Australia ! This was also part of their first album Cargo which I think went multiple platinum globally

Jazz songs to react to:
The aforementioned Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue (Newport, 1956)
I Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good) off the same concert is a great one to showcase what made Johnny Hodges Johnny Hodges
Prelude to a Kiss - Duke Ellington/Johnny Hodges
Kim - Charlie Parker
Anything off Charlie Parker with Strings (Bird actually had a love of classical music, which greatly influenced the development of bebop)
My Favorite Things - John Coltrane
Take 5 - Dave Brubeck Quartet
All Blues - Miles Davis (featuring Coltrane and Cannonball Adderly)
Actually, pretty much anything off Kinda Blue.
Love the video Mia stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
Men At Work and Huey Lewis are not only my guilty pleasures, but my vices as well.
Just a groovy tune. A tune really meant for you.
I only listen to 3 people doing reactions, including you. Your reactions are good.
Hi Mia love the videos was hoping you could do the band heart and the song is barracuda.
Keep up the good work ❤
Great song, another good one from them is "Overkill"
rock is so varied, it's anything from the beatles, elvis, the monkees, metallica (urgh) def leppard, journey to whatever. rock is wide as an ocean
Yeah, my junior and senior yr. Yeah!❤🎉
My very first favorite song as a kid was their song ...Land Down Under..just before I found Def Leppard and MJ
Mia, you're looking stunning as usual. Good content, beautiful reaction and excellent editing. But I still would love some information concerning that Rodeo sweetie. Can you provide that information for me? I really would appreciate it. Thank you so much special, girl. Have an extraordinary day 🙏🏽
❤well well my dear you have just broke into the 80s

Wow, remember playing this great album on vinyl back in the day. Colin Hay and the boys. Jazz...Straight No Chaser. and for great saxophone...John Coltrane A Love Supreme : )
Always put together perfectly 😍
Jazz tune Maputu with legend sax player David Sanborn and keyboard player Bob James is such a Nice jazz piece.
I love these videos and love you Mia. 😍😍😘😘
Great song from this talented band.
Another Australian artist, Bob Evans brought back the saxophone in a recent song called “Born Yesterday” it’s a great song.
I heard they were real construction workers from Australia, thus the name. The singer has a glass eye. I wonder if it was related to his job in construction? Btw, I love the saxophone, so we can be mates, mate. 💕 🎷
Their debut album had some pretty good songs on it.
I’m here to love you and react with my girl baby❤❤
Glad Mia that u like saxophone, the band has a song with lead flute! Song is called, down under! Check it out
Another great aussie band dam it I'm from NZ
The most famous Song with a Sax is Gerry Raffertys Baker Street. Just listen and you love it. 👍
pop/rock. 80's rock.
I think youd reallly enjoy "overkill" by men at work, its another one of their hits and its a banger with a lil sax in there
There is a SULTRY sax that plays in the song "Turn the Page" from Bob Seger
As a saxophone player I give you a 10 .
Down Under is a must listen!
Good saxophone solos that come to mind is “True” by Spandau Ballet and “Baker Street” by Gerry Rafferty
I could listen to Men at Work all day. I suggest "Overkill".
I love the Sax in a rock song. The Sonics ’Have love Will travel’ has the wildest Sax solo ever. Plz check it. This one was also cool though.

Hit some Aussie rock with the following, Grinspoon - Lost Control & Thirsty Merc - In the Summertime
Australian band INXS have some great songs including What You Need and Never Tear us Apart with Sax solo's Mia, check them out cheers. Thanks for another great reaction.
I remember this song in the 80s I was trying to get a girl then I was the pre teen I enjoyed every moment
Always thought Men at Work had a unique sound. They didn't have a lot of hits in the US, but they carved out a decent career. Definitely leans pop. Sounds a bit like The Outfield on "Your Love".
My Selmer Paris tenor sax loves You!
React to dark side by Eddie and the cruisers! 1 of the best Sax solos ever!
We can definitely be friends Mia, I love the Sax as well
One group that had a lot of sax is Spadau Ballet. Especially their song True.
You look great ❤
You'll need to check out Spandau Ballett's song "True" just for the sax solo if nothing else. 🎷
Yes, Mia, this is pop rock. Bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden are lnown as heavy metal. "Down Under" is their biggest hit in the states but they have a few more. Mia, I know a jazzy song you will like. It's called "Moondance" ny Van Morrison.
I tried to play the saxophone when I was in grade school, and it didn't work out
I now see the dividends it could have brought me 😢
Mia I seen your drop on the white stripes they done a tour in Canada years ago*under great northern lights* you will love it the Drummer is his sister.
Thank God you got back to 80s Mia. You have to do Billy Idol rebel yell.
They have another hit called Down under was a fun song
For another song with a cool sax solo check out a song called "Never tear us apart" by the band INXS (pronounced in excess).
