The spin off was great. Bea Arthur guest starred on it but she wasn't a regular. Dorthy got married and moved to Atlanta at the end of Golden Girls so she visited the Golden Palace a few times. They also had another spin off called The Empty Nest, which was centered around one of their friends. Remember Dr. Harry Weston, his daughters Barbra (the cop) and Carol (the whiny one), and that big beautiful dog Dryfus? That was who the show centered around. The regular cast of The Golden Girls were also occasional guest starts there as well.
Yes, absolutely gorgeous. I read that Rue had an apt in New York yet this shows a house. Perhaps she moved. She was in NY when she passed away. I’m sure her NY apt was lovely too.
I attended a taping of TGG in 1986, the episode where Dorothy's Lesbian friend, played by Lois Nettleton visited. There were several takes of most scenes but the scene -where Dorothy and Sofia are in bed discussing the situation, was done in one take. When the director said, "that's a take!" both actors were thrilled. Also in that scene when Blanche realized that "Lebanese" and "Lesbian" are different terms the audience roared and even now when watching a rerun I swear I can hear my laughter! To the contrary, Betty flubbed many scenes -to both her and the audience delight but Bea always looked pissed at the delay. In these moments Betty often engaged the crew and audience but 'Dorothy' looked pissed and never acknowledged the audience. As a guest of someone on the production crew we got a backstage tour after the taping. The back of the sets were unfinished plywood and the writer's room was behind the living room set. We were surprised to see there was seating for about 20 people facing a monitor. We were told that if any single writer got at least one unaltered line in the show they were thrilled. We left the stage into the crew's parking lot and the spot for Betty White had a beautiful new Cadillac. I often wondered where she drove home and now I know...well, sort of. Now THE most exciting part of my visit, which I didn't discover until years later was that this episode was taped on the old Desilu lot and on the "I Love Lucy" stage...I had been on hallowed ground! Thanks for this wonderful clip!
Bob Herrmann that is just so incredible. I loved this contribution. I have a video of Lucy’s house also. What a GREAT experience and you painted that picture in my head of what you experienced so well. HOW AWESOME!
Incredible story. thanks for sharing. You saw signs of the big hidden secret that lasted until Bea passed away....that she did not care for Betty White
I love them too but I hate watching them on Hallmark because they cut and cut them and even speed up some of the talk so they can air more commercials. Plus you have to watch all the commercials for those terrible Hallmark movies. I used to like it better when they were on Lifetime.
My dad loved The Golden Girls. He would watch them all the time up until his death in March of last year. Rest In Paradise, daddy. I miss you so much! 🙏💙🙏
Great video. I used to live on south beach and jog passed the hotel every day. I used to feel I was the only one that knew this fact lol. When Bea's house went up for sale in 2015 the photos were jaw dropping. She had style! (and white sand by the mile)
if you watch the old geico commercial where the mom in florida calls her son & hes a secret agent fighting off assassins...her house is EXACTLY like my grandparents in boca raton & every one else's in the neighborhood! its such a different lifestyle from my 18th flr apt in manhattan & i love going to visit. its another world!

What a clever idea you had in doing this. I find it most enjoyable. Curious about their homes so it’s fun to see. Very kind of you not to give out the last Golden girls home. Betty white of course. It’s nice you’re respectful. Thanks again another winner 😜👍💕
Would be awesome to see more videos from this youtube channel that talk about the famous homes of famous celebrities in Hollywood and famous Hollywood movie locations

The couple that lived there weren't GG fans. Go figure 😂thanks for the video. You're one of the nicest people on this platform. Humble and respectful.
Thank you for your time in making this film and for sharing it with your viewers. I really appreciate that you showed respect when showing the home of Betty White and wish others were as considerate toward one another on an everyday basis : )
this has to be my FAVORITE video because I’m obsessed with golden girls! I grew up watching them and I watch them everyday on hulu or hallmark tv land channel! love all the girls love seeing the homes they lived in always curious what Betty’s house looked like! thank you for this 😊
Love their homes.... I never could locate Estelle’s home but I had looked up Bea’s and Rue’s, and Betty’s before. Each house fits their personalities very well.
The Empty Nest house with Harry and Dreyfus’s was supposed to be next door, also Charlie’s house. We seldom hear about Empty Nest and Nurses the spin-off shows of Golden Girls. Sofia and Carol made a special appearance on Nurses when Carol and Gina attended Lamaze class together. I believe Harry delivered both babies.
Thanks for this video! I just recently this year started watching golden girls. I was born in 1988 so this show started before I was born and on while I was very young. I love this show! I like your celebrity homes videos! I subscribed to see other ones you may make.
My family loves the Golden Girls. My wife, my daughter (4months old) and I lay in bed at night and watch a few episodes every day. Great show. Sophia’s wit never gets old.
Betty and her husband Allen Ludden bought that house around 1970-71, around the time that Password was revived and production moved to California, so they moved out west. They collected a lot of art together, and wanted to duplicate the lush gardens of their previous house in Westchester County, New York. There are file pics of them and their dogs in the backyard and inside their home from various interviews years ago; if you do a Google search, they’re authorized and public. Betty got her wish on the location and size of the house, and the shade of yellow trim on the house was Allen’s favorite color.
I love the Goldey Girlsi I've been watching since they first came on and still watch today, I got my granddaughters to watch from when they were very small, they would hear the theme song start and we all watched together snuggled up in the bed. They are grown with families of their own. I still watch to this day. The Golden Girls were and still are very much an icon, too bad that all have gone but Miss Betty White. I’ve always loved the Golden girls, and the TV series Maude! Bee Arthur was an incredible actress and comedian as was Rue McClanahan, and Estelle. Not to mention our beloved Betty white! I have both TV shows complete series collection on DVD and they’re so worn out by now because they are my go to comfort shows. I fall asleep every night to the Golden girls episode or a maude episode. Have been for decades now. My daughter is now 18 and she has loved the golden girls since she was about 6 years old. Her and I still love watching it together ❤️❤️
When I was a kid and Maude was on tv my grandmother and I would watch ...funny how times have changed so much...watching Maude was the first time I heard the word abortion...I was like grandma what's that ?
I absolutely knew about The Golden Palace & I watched EVERY SINGLE EPISODE! I still watch The Golden Girls on Hulu, I have my 4yr old niece watching it with me & she loves it, Dorothy is her favorite! I remember watching the series on Saturday nights after Empty Nest with my Nana. TV is nothing like this anymore.
I did see a video of Betty Whites home a few days ago. It is very down to earth. A home that just cries out , you are home get comfortable. Beautifully decorated but certainly not ostentatious. I loved it.
My favorite show! I love the episode when Sofia told the girls that if her head starts spinning and spitting up pea soup we're in big trouble. The mean neighbor lol
Lucky you that you live in Los Angeles. One of these days if I have enough money saved up I plan on traveling to Hollywood and Los Angeles to see houses that was used in movies and TV shows. I also plan on seeing the Hollywood sign and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

This is such an interesting posting! Thank you! I wonder if anyone else would like to share their favorite GG episode. I have several but if I had to choose, it would have to be Old Friends.
You get it! That’s great! So many people have sent me private messages berating me for not shoving more info. No reason to do that. Thanks for watching :)
I always watched this with my mother when i was younger and now my daughter loves it. They were awesome. I can't believe Betty White is still here. I hope she lives to be 100 and they do a special for her like they did when she was 90,
I was a fan of the show as a kid while it aired, and still am. I felt as though the "girls" were my friends, and they got me through some rough times. The final episode is so hard to watch. Eternal respect and love for Bea, Rue, Estelle, and Betty!
I agree. It was extremely difficult to watch, specially having the thought in the back of one's mind: "This is it! No more GG's except (fond, wonderful) memories. A lot of TV life died that night. I just wonder how the "Girls" felt - having being part of each other's lives for so long? So long, Girls. Thank you for making life bearable for at least 7 years.
I love The Golden Girls!! I still watch that old hilarious show to this day. My favorite characters from that show was Dorothy and Sophia. I can so relate to them two characters in real life considering I have a sassy and sarcastic personality a lot of times. All four of them were funny and hilarious. It's amazing that Betty White is still alive.
They were my favorite too! Hilarious😆Unfortunately, just before her 100th birthday, Betty White passed away. Would've loved to see the Special she was doing for that monumental milestone but it never got finished 💔
@@DrGariS Do you also have a video of the house that was by the beach where she lived with Alan Luden? She was still periodically living there until she required more at home assistant living help. The beach house was too far for the care takers so she had to live at the Brentwood home exclusively which is where she tied.
In 1992, I visited Walt Disney world in Florida, and in Hollywood studios (then called MGM studios) they had an attraction called "The Back Lot Studio Tour" . On this tour we saw many large movie props including boats, airplanes and homes. There was the outside of "The Golden Girls" house which the tour gide sad was used for exterior shots and across the street the house used for the spin off "Empy Nest" starring Richard Mulligan and Dinah Manoff.
This is so cool I love this show too it's good to know where the golden girls lived it's good u didnt give Betty's address but cool u showed the front of her house and the golden girls home
Thanks, this was interesting! I've always gotten a kick out of how the Golden Girls house interior made no sense and didn't match up to the exterior at all.
This was great. Dorothy will always be my favorite. I truly believe she wasn’t a moody person at in real life, she was just a nonchalant kind of gal. Reminds me of me. I mean we both have the same bday so it makes sense. Thx again
Tauruses! The U.K. actress Miriam margolyes shares a birthday with Bea and she too is described as rude and bitchy… she’s funny to me! She doesn’t give 2 hoots!

Empty Nest and Nurses are also spin offs to The Golden Girls
I watched the whole series on YT and it's pretty funny, quirky and although you kinda miss Bea she does pop up in it, and Don Cheadle is in it.

I was curious about the homes but was hoping that you wouldn’t show Betty’s to consider her privacy. Thank you for being mindful of that.
You get it! That’s great! So many people have sent me private messages berating me for not shoving more info. No reason to do that. Thanks for watching :)
@@DrGariS Yet there will be Freaks that will show up @ the homes n 2020. What bout the peeps living there now?
I always watched this with my mother when i was younger and now my daughter loves it. They were awesome. I can't believe Betty White is still here. I hope she lives to be 100 and they do a special for her like they did when she was 90,
That’s amazing!
The whole Golden Girls series is on Hulu. I watch at least a couple episodes at night when i get home from work.❤️ Pussycat😊
yes
I love this Shows and all Golden Girls forever👍 😂😂😂❤❤❤
I was a fan of the show as a kid while it aired, and still am. I felt as though the "girls" were my friends, and they got me through some rough times. The final episode is so hard to watch. Eternal respect and love for Bea, Rue, Estelle, and Betty!
Same here!
Yeah it's too bad that Betty White passed away before she turned 100. That would have been amazing if she was still alive.
RIP Betty! Miss you!!
She was so amazing. I have a video on her house now also
@@DrGariS Do you also have a video of the house that was by the beach where she lived with Alan Luden? She was still periodically living there until she required more at home assistant living help. The beach house was too far for the care takers so she had to live at the Brentwood home exclusively which is where she tied.
Didn't Rue also was have an apartment in Manhattan?
In 1992, I visited Walt Disney world in Florida, and in Hollywood studios (then called MGM studios) they had an attraction called "The Back Lot Studio Tour" . On this tour we saw many large movie props including boats, airplanes and homes. There was the outside of "The Golden Girls" house which the tour gide sad was used for exterior shots and across the street the house used for the spin off "Empy Nest" starring Richard Mulligan and Dinah Manoff.
They did move to that backlot area for some external shots! :)
Unvergessenen und immer wieder begeistert anzusehen the golden Girls
Golden Girls zu sehen macht mich glücklich😍 und gleichzeitig traurig da es drei dieser großartigen Frauen nicht mehr gibt! Was für ein Verlust😪
Thank you so much for that wonderful compliment - so happy you enjoyed!
Love this show❤️One of my Mama’s favorite shows💜
I loved watching the golden girls they all had gorgeous homes I miss the other 3 as well as Betty white must to
So true. Thanks so much for that gracious comment. I’m so glad you liked the video. It was so fun to make it.
This is so cool I love this show too it's good to know where the golden girls lived it's good u didnt give Betty's address but cool u showed the front of her house and the golden girls home
Glad u enjoyed :)
Thanks, this was interesting! I've always gotten a kick out of how the Golden Girls house interior made no sense and didn't match up to the exterior at all.
You're very welcome!
This was great. Dorothy will always be my favorite. I truly believe she wasn’t a moody person at in real life, she was just a nonchalant kind of gal. Reminds me of me. I mean we both have the same bday so it makes sense. Thx again
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed!
Tauruses! The U.K. actress Miriam margolyes shares a birthday with Bea and she too is described as rude and bitchy… she’s funny to me! She doesn’t give 2 hoots!
Bea’s home was GORGEOUS
I think so too!
Sure was.
Always loved the Golden Girls house house from the outside since I was a little kid
It’s a beautiful home for sure
As a long-time Miami resident, I was almost sure that the original exterior used in the series was a home in SOUTH MIAMI 😢😭😤 I fell for it!
Omg did you really? Where did you grow up? I know miami well
@@DrGariS grew up in NJ... been living in Miami >20 years... Same house since 2000 (Miami Shores) -- Before the interwebs, a friend of mine and I were gonna go find the house in South Miami (supposedly off Sunset Drive near the bakery center) 😂🤣😆😅😃
One of my all time favourite show.
it is really great
I love 💕 the Golden Girls!! I watch them on Hulu all the time!!! It would be super awesome to meet Betty White!!!!🥰
I just love them so, I watch them every night
