@@KleoYan Yes, I watch all your videos...usually more than once. I have one system with SL fans and no Strimer cables. Since it is fans only, can I run L Connect 3 with those existing controllers? Is the new V2 controller needed only for the Strimer cables?
@@patsipes6561 Hi, yes you are suppose to use the the AL or SL Controller with this L-Connect 3 application and for the Strimer Plus V2 controller, it will be better to have it as it will provide the full potential argb effects to your strimer plus strips.

The only reason i didnt chose the strimmer 1 or any rgb cables was bcoz it wasnt bright enough, but this def looks like a good option

These look much better, I originally bought the first version of the triple 8 and 24 pin. Once i saw these I ordered up a set and can't wait to add them in my new pc build witj my sl 120 fans. Thanks for sharing the information.

glad i stumbled to this, i was very excited to be able to buy strimer esp the v2, but i noticed the hub is different and the clips beside the pcie from the online shop i ordered, it was the plus hub, online sellers re-editing their items and adding v2 but it's still the plus version. dodged a bullet there.

Hi Skitzo, welcome to my channel. kindly go through these steps to see if it works for you.
1) Make sure your motherboard bios is up to date, please check on your motherboard manufacture website, under support > bios and drivers. See if there are issues with USB and do they have a fix. If there are, kindly update those bios firmware version.
2) Make sure your chipset driver for your motherboard is up to date! For AMD will be at www.amd.com/en/support for Intel will be Intel Driver & Support Assistant Intel DSA www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
3) Remove all argb apps (Asus Armory Crate / MSI Dragon Center / Giga Fusion / Asrock Polychrome). If the brands which I have mentioned, do have a uninstall tool like the Asus Armory Crate, use that, else use Revo uninstaller ( www.revouninstaller.com/ ). Revo uninstaller will remove all unwanted files / folder / registry in your system. Illustration to use revo uninstaller ruclips.net/video/uMgUYiakpxM/видео.html
4) Shutdown your PC, unplug the PSU cable from your AC outlet. Press the power switch twice to discharge all current that your motherboard is holding. Leave it for 45 second
5) Plug Strimer Plus V2 controller.
7) Plug the power cable and turn on your PC
8) Go to your Device Manager, look under Universal Serial Bus Devices, make sure you see the Lian Li strimer plus V2 controller.
9) Install the L-Connect 3 app.
10) After installation, run L-Connect 3, check under Setting > General > make sure Auto-Run on Boot and Minimized L-Connect 3 to system tray at close are ON.
11) Reboot your system.
12) First thing you need, go to device manager and see if the Lian Li controller is listed, next open up the L-Connect 3 app. Check if there is a need to update firmware to your controller. Go to Settings > Update, under Device F/W version, click on Update Check, download and install the firmware. Make sure the firmware is completed. Do a check on device manager and make sure the Lian Li controller is listed.
Can you actually remove the leds strip from the extension cable and attach them to a different extension lead like one that has white connectors not black or are they fused to the extension cables?

Hello there, great video as always. I have a slight issue with my setup and it's quite complicated:
I have 6 SL120 fans in total:
1 fan (rear fan) using slot 1 on the controller
2 fans (top fan) using slot 2 on the controller
3 fans (front fan) using slot 3 on the controller
I also have a lian li argb strip with a 3pin argb female connector, I connect this with an adapter to slot 4 on the controller. This setup by itself works fine and there seems to be enough power going to each of the components.
I have recently bought the Strimer Plus V2. I unplugged my argb strip and then I tried connecting the 3 pin argb connector for the Strimer Plus V2 to the controller after plugging in SATA. However, this does not seem to work; the lights on the strimer don't light up.
I watched your other videos and you successfully managed to connect the 3 pin argb adapter for the Strimer Plus (non v2) to the Sl controller for a unified control experience, but I can't
seem to replicate it.
In theory the Strimer Plus V2 should be able to connect to the SL controller becuase the power for the strimer comes from the seperate SATA which is plugged in, but is there something I am not seeing? What do you think the issue could be? Do I need to daisy chain my fans to use up less slots on the controller? If I can't connect the strips to the controller I might just buy an internal USB hub since the USB 2.0 method works for the Strimer V2.

Hi Youmahmy, in theory yes, it should work and I've just tried on my strimer V2 strips and connect it via a 3pin standard argb to the uni controller. it does work. but this defeat the purpose of getting the strimer plus v2 and not making use of the L-Connect 3 to control your strimer plus v2 strips. Did you get the 24pin strimer plus v2 that comes with the controller?
the key to control these strimer plus V2 is the V2 controller.
@@KleoYan yeah I got the controller with it so you're right, I may as well utilise an internal USB header extension since it would minimise any risk of overloading regardless of measures in place to prevent it. AND I get the full experience and control over the effects and such. Thanks for your help.

Hi Chachinito, welcome back as I have answered your question, you can only use the v1 with the v2 controller as the v1 controller does not work with L-Connect 3

Best Strimer Plus V2 video yet! Question that might help everyone, can you use the triple 8 pin with a dual or single 8 pin gpu?
For people who might upgrade in the future like I did with the original strimer plus.
Hello DrunkHotMates, welcome to my channel. if you are thinking of removing a triple or dual 8 pin to a single 8 pin. You can do that. The only problem is, at the other end. Not the interchangeable clip. Is one whole clip. Unless you find a 8 pin clip. Then that is possible.
Why would you? Just get the duel 8pin.

@@OhItsThat I have been asked by people who upgraded their current single or dual pin gpu cards to triple pin cards and didn't want to purchase one strimer and have to purchase another strimer. However, I believe the newer 4000 series gpu might be something different all together.

Hello Triggleton Quendongle, welcome to my channel. V1 you've watch is strimer contoller to the uni fan controller using a converter. As for V2 you have to use the V2 controller. you can't connect the strips directly to the uni controller.

Hello Twesion Dusy, welcome to my channel. You always stop this. After you have allowed, go to search in windows, type in UAC. You will see a pop up saying user access control, in that, lower down the lever on your left to the lowest and click on apply. Reboot your system and it will be gone. It’s perfectly ok to off this check function. Not to worry.
Sorry to bother you, when using the hub onto the motherboard, do you need to connect both RGB cable and USB2.0 cable, or simply USB2.0 cable is good enough? Thank you.

Hi there, is it possible to control via L-Connect 3 both of Strimer Plus V2 and UNIFan SL120 using the ARGB splitter cable? Or do I have to use a cable converter? Currently my motherboard only have 1x ARGB header and 2x RGB header, thanks in Advance?
Hi Rommel Asis, welcome to my channel. You can control the argb on both strimer plus v2 and SL120. So your strimer plus v2 and the uni fan controllers are plug to your motherboard usb headers. You do not need to plug the argb from the controllers to your motherboard at all unless you want to control all your argb using the motherboard utility.

@@rommelasis5991 hi welcome back. I feel that it defeat the purpose of you do not connect the usb cable from your strimer plus v2 controller to your monther usb header. You will lose out on more effects on L-Connect 3 app. If you prefer to integrate your stimer plus v2 with a uni controller. It applies the same, so long you make sure that your strimer plus v2 contoller is plugged with the sata cable to your psu. Just for your info all uni fan and strimer plus controller does not require to be plug to your motherboard argb, unless you wanted to controll your fans and strimer plus with the motherboard argb effects. As for for your PSU, 850w gold and above are sufficient to drive your lian li argb devices.

I'm new to PC building and I wanted to know if the Strimer V2 24 pin cable will light up without the L connect 3 software as the SL INF-120 fans do once you turn on the computer for the first time after plugging in everything? I turned on my newly built PC yesterday and everything came on except my V2 Strimer plus 24 pin argb. Thank you very much in advanced.
Hello Kwesi Williams, welcome to my channel it will light up so long you have connected to the controller and please make sure that the controller cables are plug properly, example the sata powered source cable and etc. if it’s of a GPU strimer plus. Check on the controller, there is a switch to toggle in between the two ports.

hi i know this might sound tricky, but any chance that you can only use 1 8pin? like separate the triple 8pin? i want to buy the strimer plus v2 for my rtx 2060 (which only has 1 8pin) but afraid that it might not look good due to its nature that the strimer plus has 2x8pin (3x8pin)

Then first boot up, all my fans are not spinning, but all the rgb works.., it’s my first time to build a gaming Pc.. so do you know what is seems to be the problem ? Hi Makata_Pro, welcome to my channel. I like to ask are your CPU and GPU temperature readings showing in your L-Connect 3? as in it reads realtime temperature? This is the first thing you need to make sure. If there are no temperature readings. you will have to get it working first before you can set the pwm fan speed in L-Connect 3.

In some regions, they do sell but some not.. my country do not sell that but we are able to get it through an online shop call shopee, which is link with some asia countries like Malaysia, China and Korea. you might want to search in good for AL120 Uni Controller and click on the Shopping on the google search above.
Anyone know if you can connect the V2 strimmer into the SL infinity controller hub ? I have 1 slot left, Id rather use it if possible to reduce the number of hubs in my case. Thank you!
Hi Jose Zamora, if you have the V2 Strimer plus PCI-E dual 8pin, you can use it's coverter to plug to your uni controller but if it's 24pin you can't do so.
Can the L Connect 3 with these new stimers to work with the older SL controller with L Connect 3. The new Infinity fans with three fans and L3 controller is not working for me. I had to reinstall the older SL fans. Thanks. Great video.

@@KleoYan thanks for responding. To help out additional people, that may have this issue, the new Infinity fans work after a BIOS update is done and the OS is installed with LC3 installed and firmware updated. Now it works great!

I forgot. One more question if anyone knows. Can the older AL/SL fans be connected to the LConnect 3 controller. This controller comes with the new Infinity fans.
@@IronCondorSimulations Hi, each Uni Fan has it's own controller. the argb pattern effects on each controller have specific instructinos to thier fans. You can plug AL to SL inf controller but the argb effects might not respond the way is suppose to be. It will be best to connect AL or SL fans to their respective uni controllers. Hello, i want both to buys 24 pin for MB and both 2x8 and 3x8 pin cables for GPU. One to GPU and another just because RGB (i will set in in my case with actual cables taken off). My question: is it possible to get both GPU cables to work on same controller, or you need to choose 2x8 or 3x8 on the switch. I have seen the diagram of the controller and I thought that switch has 3 positions. If I cant do that can I just plug the cable directly to MB and control it via MB software (although I know it will be limited number of effects). Tnx mate. Great videos btw.
Hi SaSa Mujezinovic, welcome to my channel, on the controller you can only choose either dual 8 pin or triple 8 pin, you can’t turn on both. Btw do read your motherboard manual on the argb load if u intend to plug strimer plus to it and do not daisy chain more like fans or strips together with your strimer plus to one argb motherboard header.
@@KleoYan Tnx mate. I already ordered 24 pin and 2x8 pin cables. And almost ordered 3x8 also this morning when i saw that controller has option to connect both cables. We buy these cables as an eye candy, not because of their amazing functionality. Why couldn't we have them than just sitting in case, looking pretty. Oh well, I'm a bit disappointed. I have already pictured my case and where to set the extra cable :D .

I installed everything from the lian li trimer plus v2 from aliexpress but the rgb lights did not turn on, it could be that the hub controller has gone bad, I have power on the board and video card but no rgb on the cables, I have a video that shows how I can do it for you to get

Hi jennbooie, welcome to my channel. Sorry to say that if you do not have the V2 Controlle, you are not able to use the L-Connect 3 apps effects on your 8pin Strimer plus V2. you can try to buy the controller which allows you to use those L-Connect 3 argb effects.

Inside the box of your 8pin strimer plus v2, you should see an adaptor that connects from your strimer plus v2 8pin to this adaptor and from there connect it to your motherboard argb header. make sure is 3 pin and not 4pin header.. you can see the illustration here imgur.com/qSArrJK . once connected, you can use armour crate to change the colors or pattern.
Can I plug in the usb 2.0 connector into a usb 3.2 Gen 1 header on my mobo? My 2.0 headers are taken up already.

USB are backwards compatible. if the 3.2 Gen 1 is the same header as the USB 2.0, that should not be an issue. and in this video ruclips.net/video/uMgUYiakpxM/видео.html I did mentioned you might need to get a USB hub if you do not have enough USB header in your motherboard.
will the LIAN LI ARGB Device Cable Kits UF-EX still work with the new controller.
hi, Richard Umali, welcome to my channel, this V2 controller does not need the lian li argb kit.. it's directly connnecting your strimers to the V2 controller and to connect it to your motherboard usb header.

I’m trying to optimize my setup and cabling. I have a front set of 3 sl120, side set of 3 sl120, galahad 360 with 3 sl120, a single rear sl120, and the strimer plus for both motherboard and triple 8 pin gpu.
So if I’ve followed your videos correctly I can purchased the updated v2 controller to connect both my strimer plus extensions to the motherboard and they will show up in L Connect 3.
Now the concern is my fan connections I had seen in an old video you used the lian li argb kit to connect the rear fan, galahad rgb, and the radiator fans to the one sl controller slot. Is that still the best solution? The groups of sl120’s are all daisy chain connected so they only have the single 4 pin power cable and 3 pin rgb.
Hello Greggerz, welcome to my channel. For the strimer plus V2 yes you can do that not an issue and 1 USB Header from your motherboard taken by the strimer plus V2 controller, which I believe one USB Header left for the rest. You can choose either to go via the lian li argb route or a much better route is to purchase a powered USB Hub (NXZT Internal USB Hub) which allows you to use two SL Controllers (recommanded)

@@KleoYan I got my usb hub and set everything up. The L connect 3 recognizes both SL controllers and the new controller for strimer. However for one of the sl controllers it isn’t letting me change rgb. The fans are running normal and lighting up the default rainbow rgb. Any idea what may be wrong?
@@Greggerzz hi, pardon me for the late reply, now are you able to test one controller at a time, just to make sure that all controller works, then slowly add on device at a time to your interneal usb hub. one thing to check with you.. does your internal usb hub have a sata to power it or it's just a splitter? if it's just a splitter, that might be the cause of it.

Hello I have a question I bought Corsair H150i elite LCD and I'm going to use the Lian li SL Infinity fans on the radiator with the lian li controller itself and I'm going to use the corsair controller for the LCD screen only and I bought these Lian li strimers v2 too, so in total I have 3 controllers on my motherboard is that possible to connect or I can just use the splitter that came with corsair It can connect 2 usb and convert it to 1 or where will I connect it? How am I suppose to know if my motherboard can handle 3 usb ports for these controllers.
Hi KDF Teddy, welcome back. Most motherboard only comes with 2 USB or even 1 USB header. if you have three controller I will advise you to ge a internal USB hub that has a sata power to it. example of an internal hub nzxt.com/product/internal-usb-hub-gen-3

@@kdfteddy2677 hi, you can give it a try. So long the controllers have its own powered sata cable. It should be fine, just that you need to fingered out does it cross between the L-connect 3 and the Corsair argb software, which I am unsure. I do not own any Corsair products. Do handle with care 👍
@@KleoYan yes because 2 controllers has it own usb connector and I'll just use the splitter to connect both of them in 1 usb 2.0 header there's no issue with it no? It won't fry my board ?

You will not blow your motherboard usb header. The only concern which I am unsure is how both the softwares react, when you are using both L-Connect app and the iCue application. This you will need to figure that out and sorry for my lack of knowledge on cosair product. alternatively, you might want to consult PC builders who have this experience at www.reddit.com/r/lianli/
There is actually 3 Versions of this Which makes for a confusing scenario.
First one was called "Strimer" which is easily the worst of the 3, then followed by "Strimer Plus" then "Strimer Plus V2"
And as someone mentioned people been re-selling their Strimer Plus as V2's as they are very similar apart from the unbraided cables, different clips and different much thinner rgb strips.

@@KleoYan No problem man. Yea, I bought a Plus V2 advert on ebay that was actually the old Plus version which you have in the video. Although it was sealed and was only for £35. Even for a Plus version which is £52 from PC retailers.
I might just re-sell it and get the proper V2 version. A bit gutted but it was still cheaper. But I need to V2

Are you planning to release a video showing uni fans and the Strimer Plus V2 running in sync through L Connect? Or did I miss a view of the effects running? I saw the sync option on one video in the software, but not running on hardware.

Thank you for the videos, no worries, honestly thought I may have just missed it. I've got my V2 controller and the 8 pin coming to add to 6 AL120s and the 24 pin. I'm nearing aRGB nirvana since everything can be controlled on openRGB as well (including another 136 LEDs on strips), but I'm excited to see all the effects running from L Connect.

Hello Armando Garatiex, welcome to my channel. They are detachable but you will need to grab flat cables that does not stack up, else you can fix back in fully with those clips.

Do you know if it's possible to buy a third party controller that can house and direct A RGB from: Be Quiet's Light Wings | Lian Li's Strimer | Corsair lightstrips and | Cooler Master's ELV8 brace for graphics cards? Having so many controllers makes it so convoluted, both in hardware and software.

@@KleoYan Got a bit of a dilemma while selecting the components. Someone who is hardware savvy told me that putting 4x4 RAM (3600 CL16) with a 12700 is not recommended because the memory controller of the CPU might not handle it when XMP is engaged. How can you tell if the memory controller is up to the task? I love computers, but sometimes it feels more like a lottery instead of a science.
@@bemindful924 welcome back. If you purchase 4 x 4 memory module together as a set and it’s of your motherboard specs, it will be able to run xmp. Unless you are getting two sets of dual ram kit at a different purchase that period. Even with different period of purchase and with both dual ram kit of the same build. It might not work. That’s what my experience are.
Currently I have my o11 evo case rgb cables plugged to my strimer plus controller so I can control the case lighting too. Can I do the same with the strimer v2 controller? Look like the same connection is available.

Can I ask 1 question? What is the advantage of the 2nd version over the 1st version. Because I just installed version 1 on my computer. Should I upgrade to v2 in the future?
Hi Dinh The Huy, the advantage is, V2 are more flexible and easy to handle, plus there are lighting effects at the side on V2 but not V1, if you have already gotten the V1, I would suggest use it. Save the expenses on other stuff.
@@KleoYan I feel the same. But actually v1 is too stiff and difficult to get into small gaps. Unfortunately I just installed v1. I will consider upgrading to v2 in the future. Because I really don't feel satisfied with the aesthetics of my PC at all!!!

Hi Kleo, I am hoping you can help me out with an issue I have with Lian Li products. My build is currently using (1) Kraken z53 CPU cooler, (2) Lian-Li Infinity Uni Fan 120 (9 fans) and (3) Lian-Li Strimer Plus v2 24-pin and 3x8-pin. The issue I have is that all 3 products require a USB 2.0 header slot on the Motherboard but my motherboard only has 2 slots. Is there a way to address this issue without having to buy a USB header splitter?
