I don't care about fancy editing. These are just fine the way they are. I am just happy you are posting videos again. Thanks for taking the time to share.
I agree, as long as you have clear visuals, decent voice recording and not annoying music, I’m good. People are always talking about making “entertaining” and “stylized” videos these days and it can get pointless. Like, I don’t need a music video.
truth is I like the old style videos, that's what got me hooked to YT. all the new content is just music and fast speed, there is no learning and not personable. keep up the good work and congratulations on your healthier life style.
I've been a subscriber for years now. You're part of the reason I now own two lathes! Followed your 'Drill Press Lathe' video from six years ago, made my own, bought an inexpensive lathe, then a nicer one. Edited/not edited I don't care. I appreciate your time and sharing what you know and what you're doing. Congrats also on the weight loss!
Mr Ferry, happy to see you back, and looking well. Sorry to hear about the computer going down, and the lost work. Looking forward to seeing more content in the future, however you decide to put it together. Then as now, the important part is the knowledge you present. Practical and achievable.
Whilst I do appreciate the effort that goes into editing, and can appreciate a well crafted edited presentation (and I do enjoy watching these), I am here primarily to learn the craft of woodworking. I'm not a complete novice, so I no longer need step-by-step instructions. What I gain most from is when people like yourself show how you approach a project, and how you solve problems. And yes, when you present things that went wrong, that's when I learn the most! If you keep presenting videos like this I will keep watching and "liking" them, and learning from them. I'll also give credit to you when I have learned something from you. It was also cool when you and other makers got together in each other's shops. As a visual thinker, "tearout on the backside" is not a pretty picture! (Lol!) Oh, and I learned from Izzy Swan that jigs are awesome!
Thanks for the feedback - it’s greatly appreciated - that’s kind of what I’m hoping the videos will be going forward, more just in the shop dealing with whatever I have to deal with
So glad to see you put out a video again.....it's been too long! You always have some great tips. BTW, I'm LOVING my table saw sled and miter sled that I made from your pattern! Don't know how I lived without it as I use it for most everything I build. I look forward to seeing your future video's!
I really enjoy your videos I'm only a weekend woodworker but I like to see how other people work with wood and there techniques. Take care Steve Australia.
OMG ! Hades must be FROZEN ! (or they took the show on the road and ended up in Hades) (looks out window) I don't think the APOCALYPSE has started yet... Is the Universe FALLING ? lol GREAT to see ya, Nick ! I thought RUclips was pulling a fast one on me ! Hey, quick and dirty (editing) is fine by me. It's all about the info being shared, not about WOLLYHOOD slick productions.
I get mixed results with that and I don’t like the heat that it introduces into the cutting edge when doing multiple holes - obviously there’s different style Forstner bits in the sawtooth circumference bits tend to lend them selves better to that technique - now if it’s a holesaw through vinyl siding I’ll do that all day long
Hey, Nick nice to see you back... We like your videos regardless of the production stuff just do your thing and we will watch.... P.S. Did you lose a bet.....LOL
Good guess but no that’s not what it was - Wet floor + being too merry = fat man down And oddly im righty with a bow because I shattered my right elbow
@@NickFerry That's freaking awesome. If you don't mind answering what is working for you? If you don't want to answer I totally understand. Keep up the good work.
I thought RUclips had unsubscribed me or you were snowed out. You're only half the man you use to be, or is it just "camera angle"?. Lookin' good. I'm still workin' on the hair thing. 😁😁 I like the OMG!! look at 5:24 JimE
Who is this guy? Did he do away with the Nick Ferry we have all come to love and watch? Is there some sinister underpinnings to steal the show by this guy? Somebody call Mr. Monk and ask him to help solve the missing Nick mystery!!!! Nick, I was actually getting worried that something happened to you or the Virus may have infected you or the family. Hope that’s not true! I am glad to see you back making sawdust! I know the editing is the worst part of you Tubers work so I’m happy to know you’ll be changing the format up so that you can get back to enjoying the woodwork and recording to share with us. This format doesn’t bother me in the least and I appreciate you taking the time to share with us. (The audience stands and cheers). I got a bad case of pneumonia just before this pandemic started and when I finally got out of ICU, decided to quit my 60 years of smoking. I was 155lbs when I was released and aware I could easily gain weight. So I tried to watch that. But ended up gaining about 12-15 pounds anyway. You look a lot leaner so I’m guessing there is a high school reunion in the near future for you (haha). Any advice on loosing my 15 lbs (and don’t say go back to smoking.. haha)?
I really appreciate the kind words - sorry to hear about you coming ill - all is good with the fam (as good as can be I suppose) I’m down over 100# at this point and I wish I had the magic advice - just a bunch of doing what most don’t want to do - thanks as always for watching and commenting - it’s been a bit now 👊
CNC would be faster yet - it’s garbage comments like these that add nothing to the discussion - it’s not a video about being the fastest, yet you decided a comment about it not being the fastest was in order - this method is also not the best method to slice bread in case you’re wondering
I do things all the time in which I’m sure there is a better way that I haven’t learned yet. We are all on different levels as with most things in life. Thus the reason that I watch videos, so that I can improve. No need to criticize this video, very uncalled for.

Your original apple box video is what got me into wood working. I for one will always enjoy your videos with any editing style you choose to use.
Very cool to hear - hope you’re still enjoying it
@@NickFerry i definitely am, but I still have not made those apple boxes for my photography. 🤷♂️😆
I know how that goes ;)

That 4/1 video had me for a quick minute lol
Very clever you cheeky bastard. XD

Good to see ya Nick. Something about using a pattern and a router that is very satisfying. Hope all is well my friend. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Mike - been good, hope all has been well for you as well!
So glad to see a new video! Congrats on the weight loss.
Much appreciated
08:20 While Nick is absent - everybody is pondering: 'Is it a *DeWalt* or is it a *Ferry* router?'
Coming soon to an Amazon link near you 🤣🤣
I saw three FERRYs!
I come here to get tips and learn about woodworking, not about video editing. Keep the tips coming, any way you can

You’ve seen nothing yet 😂🤣
Nice video Nick. Looks like you lost a lot of weight too. Good job man.
Thanks I’ve lost a little over 100 pounds so far
i think this format is better. It seems more natural. JMO
I appreciate it - I was going to get back to to making vids in this style after the holidays
Ooh, long time no see!
I always run the forstner in reverse for the top layer then drill in as normal.

You talk too much and do little. You do not use chip extraction for drilling and sawing. These cuts are faster with a router than drilling and sawing.
