Florence is a piece of history. Every part, street and wall of this city hides a piece of history. From the streets, to the neighbourhoods to the exquisite statues and buildings, Florence is a symbol of the Italian Renaissance.
beautiful and very informative video! Just one missing important thing, in my opinion: Prior to become an art museum, the Bargello palace was the florentine "death row". It's historically VERY important because there, on november 30th 1786, the capital punishment was firstly abolished. The Granducato di Toscana was thus the first state on Earth to free itself from the death penalty.
Thank you so much, we're so happy you enjoyed it! 🤗 And so far we only have 1 video on Rome (we will be covering it more in-depth later) but if you wanted to check it out, here is the link! 🇮🇹 ruclips.net/video/FUy43VA9Zlk/видео.html
I would add the Galileo Museum. I was in Florence recently and I didn't see most of the these places. And I definitely want to go back to Florence. Thanks for sharing.
oh my gosh, I absolutely loved every second of this!! So informative, and the train was awesome!!! would love to do that, you both had me smiling the entire time, this was so much fun!!! Thank you ❤😂😊
You are both so adorable! I am definitely doing this list when I’m in Italy again (2024) I especially loved the train ride at the end!!! Made me lol thank you for your wonderful videos❤
Great video! Well done…I recently went to Florence and this “hidden gem” is more my style. Went to a couple of these but some I don’t know about. I hope this gets you guys a ton of followers and views. I know you all work hard to put these out. My son and fiancé are going to Italy next month and I forwarded this to them. Thank you!
Aww thank you so much for your kind words Whitney, it really means a lot to us! 🥰 We hope you had an amazing trip & hopefully your son finds our videos helpful and has a great time as well! 🤗🇮🇹
This is wonderful. We’ve been to Florence many, many times, but we had never heard of the Treno di Dante, nor have we been inside Orsanmichele. I think we may also need to visit the Bargello again as well. Lots of ideas for our trip in September.
Thanks Lisa, we’re so happy you enjoyed it! 🥰 It’s awesome that there is always something more to see in Florence - we hope you have an amazing time in September! 😍🇮🇹
You both do such a great job on the research and presentation of these vlogs. Very in-depth which gives the feel of being portrayed by locals. Rick Steves could on wish to produce this kind of content. Keep up the great work! PS - How about a short stop in one of your vlogs in Santa Croce? Was my fav, but that was 25 years ago so would love to see it again. 😎
Oh wow, what a compliment!! 🥰 Thank you so much for your kind words Dan, we can’t tell you how much that means to us! ❤️ Yes, Santa Croce will definitely be in some of our upcoming videos, it’s our favorite spot in the city! 😍
We just visited, we went to the vespers in the Basilica di San Miniato but missed the cemetery. If you like the armoury you should visit museo stibbert. We spent 3 hours there.
It's funny you ask that Kirk, because we had actually planned to make the Dante Train its own episode, but we decided to make our Top 10 videos first, to help people who are traveling this summer! So we still might make it! 🤗 And we aren't planning on staying in Florence anymore, just going to a few more places in Tuscany, then it's off to the next region! 🇮🇹
These are quite cool, but barely "hidden", wouldn't you agree? Some of mine which don't seem to get many visitors (not sure why) are : the baptistry of St John and the glorious Last Judgement; Michelangelo's secret room where he escaped capture during the feud between Gilberti and Ghelfi; the Galileo house and museum; and those glorious Gregorian chants of San Mineato al Monte. Of course, you'd be batty to not spend time in the rose garden or iris garden.

Never thought of a cemetery that way: beautiful. ❤ Course that same look - little house lined streets - doesn't exist here in North America.
I visited the cimetry of venezia : a paradise on earth
What is the name of that pastry?
Panforte? Cantucci?
This is wonderful. We’ve been to Florence many, many times, but we had never heard of the Treno di Dante, nor have we been inside Orsanmichele. I think we may also need to visit the Bargello again as well. Lots of ideas for our trip in September.

Ons is jaloers. Geniet dit 🎉 ☕️

What is the pastry called at @4:59? I must go and try when I visit this September!!
It is a 'Budino di Riso,' you can find it here! ruclips.net/video/UOJVtmY08jQ/видео.html 🥰
@@TheGlobalExpats Thank you so much!!
@@TheGlobalExpats budino to riso = arancini?

Also the Chiesa di San Salvatore in Ognissanti, it's free and some amazing art we were there on a Saturday and there was an artisan market opposite.
That train ride looked fun guys! Why didn’t you do a whole video on that? Are you planning on staying in Florence? Cheers Kirk

Where is bardini garden ?
Pietrasanta...
That’s actually smut! Smut originally meant soot or a black/dirty mark (from soot). Smutty = dirty 😉
Oh that is good to know! 😂 Thanks Sandra! 😁

I wish places you introduced were written on the side. It’s hard for me to know the place’s because English is not mother tongue.
