Batter:
1 cup rice flour
1 cup tapioca starch
2 cups room temperature water
2 cups boiling water
1/4 tsp salt
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
Filling:
1/8 oz dried wood ear mushrooms
1/2 medium yellow onion, approximately 4 oz
3/4 lb ground pork
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
vegetable oil for cooking
Additional Ingredients:
fresh herbs: cilantro, mint and Thai basil, plucked and washed
bean sprouts, trimmed and washed
1 cucumber
steamed pork roll
fried onions
fish sauce dipping sauce • Fish Sauce Dipping Sau...
Yields: 30-35 rolls, 4-6 servings

Unfortunately as we gotten older, I never get a chance for homemade banh uot anymore and grandma has been getting more tired. Now it's my turn to try my hands on banh uot! Hi Trang, thank you for sharing this video! I followed your recipe and the banh cuon came out perfectly. I was very surprised at how authentic the banh cuon turned out -- taste and texture -- given that it was made with a frying pan instead of the traditional steamer. Your recipes are the best!
