Tamera - never thought she would sing on national tv then the masked sing happened and now she has a wine business with her husband.
Adrienne- couldn't fathom the thought of being with some time with kids, now she's with Israel and they're both so happy.
Loni - loving the single life until James came in the picture. He's as white as they come😃. they make such a great couple. She even has gran babies now😊
Jeannie - never thought she'd be a mom now she's married to Jezzy and they're having their first baby😍

@Lin Sin lol me and my step kids are good. I get what you're saying, but I refuse to treat them any differently than I'd treat my own children. If not, how can I ever claim to love them the same. Just my perspective lol it works for me and my bf but may not work for all.

Well some people don’t com into their stepkids life until they are older teenagers(16/17/18)or when they are adults(17+)and it really depends on when you come in their life. But if you have a stepkid who is 25 and lived across the country they don’t like you...well you may not have such a close relationship with them. Of course you’re always still nice and respectful when you see them...but you may not consider them a child to you even if you still care about them and would be different if you had met them at 5 and they love you and see you as a second mom/dad or even an ACTUAL mom/dad if their bio parent isn’t in their life.
Also, if the biological parent that you’re with doesn’t get to see them often it will be hard for them to connect with their own child let alone for you as the stepparent to build a relationship with them.(custody and court stuff can really ruin parent/child relationships).
Also if you are close on age to your step kid(s) you might be more of a friend then a parent. OR they could hate you because of that reason.
So there is a lot of factors and every stepparent/stepchild relationship is different.

There’s a difference between interrupting because you’re excited and interrupting because you think what you have to say is “better”. I’ve had to deal with a friend that thought she was the funniest most interesting person in the world. She would cut people off and change the subject and one time she straight up said that she usually gets bored when other ppl are talking bc they’re talking about things she doesn’t care about. Like bitch who tf do you think you are 😭😭 Thank God we don’t talk anymore.
I would never want a step-mom disciplining my kids, good person or not.
If they're going to be alone with the step-mom she needs to be able to discipline them -- they can't become monsters when their father isn't around because they know the step-mom can't discipline them. They need to respect her.

In today's age, step moms and dads often show up at an older age and receive more credit than necessary. Is it common for step parents to consult with both parents or just one?

That whole convo was awkward. Adrienne and Israel have probably had discussions about this but probably their mother isn't comfortable with certain terminologies and stuff. I think for the younger ones, they should definitely not refer to her as just A or AB but instead this is my step-mom/my father's wife. Also, if they are in her presence and said or did something disrespectful she should absolutely discipline them. Send them to their room or hold them accountable in another way. Having the father discipline them is the perfect scenario and would probably make their biological mother most comfortable. However, kids will ride over someone they see as having no authority even if they are as she described. They're kids. Hey even some parents give the babysitter or nanny the right to discipline heir teens whether they are in the house or not. They just discuss what the discipline should be. I got the impression Adrienne wouldn't even have the right. Also, I get why Adrienne responded the way she did. They're engaged and she wants for the kids to accept her, talking about disciplining them could go left if she didn't play her cards as she did ie. coming in as the cool friend step-mom. However, waiting for, expecting, relying on only the father to be the sole disciplinarian can put a strain on the relationship. She and him should have just said that they are absolutely talking about it because it is important, instead of impromptu or poorly planned or ridiculous answers.

Why are these women harping on her disciplining her step kids?
For your information it is impossible to live with kids as a stepmom without having to discipline them one way or the order. There needs to be a certain degree of order in every home. So you mean to tell me that each time of the day your child does something wrong she needs to call you the mom to come and discipline them. What if you live in another state? You’ll travel everyday to come discipline your kids and go back? No one is saying discipline should be taken to extremes. Please try to be realistic. You must teach your kids to respect the stepmom you too are probably going to be stepmother to someone else’s kids. Let’s be realistic i say again no one asked to be stepmom. It is already a difficult task that requires plenty of patience.
