The real question that I have is,was this a choice of the artist to make something "pretty and quick" to be on time with the releases, or was he forced by executives at DC who are testing if they can utilize AI in future comics like events or even weekly series?
How is it stealing? Looking at art isn’t stealing it. If I read a book do I steal the information in there. It’s just not theft. It’s imitation, something all artists do, including the DC comic artists.
@iconboy1 Human imitation requires thought, insight, and an original twist, otherwise it is generally considered stealing (there are cases where art is made to be copied, such as bases or animation memes, but this is not one of them). AI cannot innovate. It just copies what it sees, and copy-pastes pieces of what it sees into a new thing. There will never be any creativity in it, as it always creates the average of what’s included in it. Add to that, the fact that the majority of artists whose art is used in these databases did not consent to that use of their art, and it becomes a genuine copyright issue if the ai is used for financial gain.
@aster1760 my boy definitely needs that W. Hell I'm positive Selina would be better than MJ or Felicia. I mean you can't get worse than what's currently being written.

The only counter argument that i have been able to formulate, is if you are already an artist and you want to simplify some of your work flow and you feed the ai only your own art to work off of. Like someone like greg capullo could upload his entire library of works, then generate backgrounds to merge with his character art and cut down on overall draw time. Don’t compare Alex Ross work to the slop we’ve been getting for the past decade plus. A.I. is a step up to force talented individuals; because A.I. could never beat Alex Ross’s work. Don’t get me started on the tripe we get for stories now (a few good pieces are the acceptation; not the vast majority).
So in other words, unless you want to quickly create unofficial fan fiction stuff, then Ai is okay; but, not for professional use under normal circumstances???
I'm going to be honest I think another thing that's been left out cuz I keep on seeing people saying this but if he's feeding his own art style into it when also we don't know if he actually used it or not then he isn't stealing in either way because he's giving his own art away if anything people himself in particular should be mad that he's showing that his art style could be replicated
yeah, but fanartists don't literaly take an existing picture add a few lines and call it a day. sure they might "steal" the character design, but there will always be the artists own style within, thats not a thing with algorithms.
All art is like that, in fact everything is like that, but just using an AI generated image is straight up lazyness. That if the artist themselves submitted this, and it wasn't DC that was just cutting costs and just payed the dude to put his name there
But what about the prompt masters? What I mean is, the future will be prompt masters and as AI improves, similar to artists, it too will be inspired by other art to create its own and even make something completely new. I feel this is inevitable and what artists should be doing is using AI as a tool to improve. It’s like those artists who only use pencil, colours in the real world looking at digital artists. Shouldn’t digital artists exist? It’s a tool they use to their advantage
The only good use for ai art is to use the results as inspiration for creating your own art. Sometimes it's hard to get a pose or background just right and using it as reference isnt a bad idea.
lol thats a fucking terrible idea, use actual references. wtf you mean good for refs?? lmao, yeah i guess if you want to learn everything wrong go for it or you know actually use the billions of images and videos of real people and objects with the actual right anatomy built on them
That's very true, AI can be a great tool to help artists achieve better art, it can be a great starting point for when you're stuck or you need something more specific that you can't quite imagine in your head, and there's not good references easily available
I understand not using AI in a professional way but i dislike it when people say that AI steals from other creators cuz it take inspiration from the other creators it won't take the exact thing and Spits that it back out it'll see this and that and it might make some parts together that look good but it's not stealing it's taking inspiration

I think AI could he helpful for comic book artists, if used sparingly or more for reference and inspiration. But even then you need to be careful about over reliance.
“Who said anything about helping artists get jobs? We gotta cut out the middle man so DC can stay afloat, think of all the potential stories people enjoy now being reduced to a few each because we can’t pay all these artists, and look it’s not like we’re completely phasing out artists they train the ai to make perfect recreations of them, this will be a golden age in the comic book industry for everyone, because now there’s no limit to how many stories can be told!” Grossly exaggerated (or not) but somehow feels like it’s on the right track for someone who believes ai art will actually be a good thing for everyone
Well to be fair here. It’s kind of similar with our brains when you think about. Our brain borrows information from the whole universe we interact with. It’s actually kind of the reason why we’ll arguably never have a 100% original idea 💡 so creativity is more like someone being born with chromosomes that are inherited from their parents. Sure they inherit the same genetic material, properties and code; but, a new human is still created and different do to the unique combination of chromosomes coming from 2 other intellectual genetic properties of human beings. So for that reason, I’m not entirely against Ai to be honest and they do also say that “imitation is the biggest form of flattery” or respect and or admiration. Something along those lines.💙💚♥️🖤😎

Looks like the AI sampled Batman Returns/Michelle Pfeiffer.
Day 4 of confirming for Dan to explain the Dawnbreaker Green Lantern
This, to me looks like the Michelle Pfeiffer version of Cat Woman.
The people who is in the good pages of whoever running DC can do whatever they like as long as it line up with what the people who running DC think
black cat an cat woman could get confused in the ai machine
Thought it was golden age black canary
That's Black cat whether they admit the mistake or not💯
Well cat woman and black cat are very similar
My husband brings up a good point… does fan art not consist of the same premise? Building off of what came before?
Yes but it's made by a human
yeah, but fanartists don't literaly take an existing picture add a few lines and call it a day.
sure they might "steal" the character design, but there will always be the artists own style within, thats not a thing with algorithms.
In that case, drawing based on a reference is the same too.
Through that only abstract art would be art.
The difference is how it's created.
All art is like that, in fact everything is like that, but just using an AI generated image is straight up lazyness. That if the artist themselves submitted this, and it wasn't DC that was just cutting costs and just payed the dude to put his name there
Well this Selina is old. Her hair has turned white.
thats propably the laziest excuse i have heard in a long time.
And her skin is still smooth?
And she wears the Felicia style mask, rather than her cowl?
Yeah do that and suddenly find yourself in the streets while they pay the aí directly.
That’s not Catwoman, it’s Black Cat from Spider-Man!
That's not how all ai works actually
didnt even mention why its ai
He did in another video
@@rekkasketch4659 i see
But what about the prompt masters? What I mean is, the future will be prompt masters and as AI improves, similar to artists, it too will be inspired by other art to create its own and even make something completely new.
I feel this is inevitable and what artists should be doing is using AI as a tool to improve. It’s like those artists who only use pencil, colours in the real world looking at digital artists. Shouldn’t digital artists exist? It’s a tool they use to their advantage
You are comparing apple to orange
Sorry im still not paying 20$ to see a bunch of AI slop
@@marcowulliampopirers2216 in time, you won’t even be able to spot Ai from real.
@@rudra7615 you are missing the point,im still not buying
@@marcowulliampopirers2216 we shall see
The only good use for ai art is to use the results as inspiration for creating your own art.
I mean soda does not give you diabetes that fast
Did you accidentally post a comment on the wrong video?
@@SurprisinglyDeep yes I an quite sure that it was in another shorts
I understand not using AI in a professional way but i dislike it when people say that AI steals from other creators cuz it take inspiration from the other creators it won't take the exact thing and Spits that it back out it'll see this and that and it might make some parts together that look good but it's not stealing it's taking inspiration
no, it's literaly stealing. your argument would only be correct if you are talking about true sentient AI, not just a nifty algorithm.
@@tommerker8063 at the end of the day you still crazy idea of the art like design and stuff and of course you shouldn't use it in a professional way that normal artists would do it
I think AI could he helpful for comic book artists, if used sparingly or more for reference and inspiration. But even then you need to be careful about over reliance.
Black Cat sees a boy [Spider-Man] 😐
Black Cat sees a man [Batman] 😍

YT asked me to rate your comment. I rated it 4 out of 5 smileys and that it was a funny comment.
“Who said anything about helping artists get jobs? We gotta cut out the middle man so DC can stay afloat, think of all the potential stories people enjoy now being reduced to a few each because we can’t pay all these artists, and look it’s not like we’re completely phasing out artists they train the ai to make perfect recreations of them, this will be a golden age in the comic book industry for everyone, because now there’s no limit to how many stories can be told!”
Grossly exaggerated (or not) but somehow feels like it’s on the right track for someone who believes ai art will actually be a good thing for everyone
Crybabies
Ew Catwoman. Can they stop trying to make that work.
Something along those lines.💙💚♥️🖤😎
no, it's not at all similar. like most people you completely misunderstand what AI actually is and does.
That's ass. People buy comic books for the story and to enjoy an artist's unique style. Foh
There no more artist comic many not even drawing coloring all cpu or A.I now but Joker did look nice but then see joker like trans clown like really
