@@catchacow1927 oh I agree. I watched a few. Learned a few things as well! The wrist rotation/position is important when doing those flip and spiral casts!
All my rods are very stiff. I have no problem doing a spiral cast. But flip cast is not for me, I can't get a stiff rod loaded. Every time I get the urge to buy a fiberglass spaghetti, I stop myself thinking, what will happen after the cast, how will I be able to play my sot bait with such a rod. Looking forward to the fishing video with this rod.
Spiral cast definitely easier and I have shown those with my graphite rods!
Definitely going to be for my hard baits and open hook lures. Jigs should be okay, but will be experimenting. Stay tuned!

I have the exact same ShengHe xul rod. I'm loving how it's super durable and very gorgeous lookin at the same time. I paired it with a Tsurinoya DarkWolf bfs bc reel.
Was wondering where can i buy an upgrade, longer handled rod for bc?

Nice and that's is actually a great idea. I have seen handles on Aliexpress, but they are mainly short ones. But I will look too as I think I would enjoy a long rod handle for the kayak. If you find one before me, please share!
@@rawrfishing I've seen some in Aliexpress too. But the i/d hole are mostly 11mm, which is just too wide for the rod (which is just about 6.2-6.7mm diametre). I dunno if there some out there that has the exact same hole diametre.

I was looking at this rod and pairing it up with a Tsurinoya Genius for ultra light applications. It is good to have a longer rod and handle for other applications or preferences.
I bought a major craft finetail glass rod that collects dust in my closet. 🤣 I bought it to try glass and didn't like the decrease in sensitivity. Maybe one day I'll find a cool stream to make use of it one day. Looking forward to your videos. Maybe you can so me how to use this type of rodore efficiently 🤣
The flex in the rod does reduce sensitivity. It brings your fishing to a different level as you now need to detect the strikes by line and rod tip watching. A lot of times, the fish bites a lure and the rod just loads up and I think that's the bites most people will be looking for before setting that hook. Or at least what I am envisioning myself doing hehe.
My mate has a couple of custom built glass rods that have spiral or acid wrap guides. Helps eliminate line rub. Might be worth checking out.
I want one done for sure! I have been and advocate of spiral wraps, but they don't work well per some rod designers for the UL stuff. Maybe it will be okay for glass rods and short distance casting. Would love to hear experts on this idea and topic!

How’s the sensitivity on this guy? In an ideal world we’d get a glass rod that’s not super noodly but also doesn’t lose much sensitivity compared to carbon. I haven’t tried any solid blank glass rods as I’ve been a bit hesitant because most seems super noodly and limp. This looks to be fairly decent though! Look forward to more videos on this guy. It's not as noodly like the BPS. So I would expect to feel the twitch if my rod a bit when I get slammed by them trout. When lures are moving against current, a fish tapping it would certainly be able to be picked up. Or at least I hope. This could be your next rod! Or wait for Tsu glass rod... Oppps.. I shouldn't have said that :p

Not sure when that one will drop. But I had the opportunity to see some photos and hear about the testing. I think it would be available closer to mid year.. So it might end up being my fall trout rod if all plays out

it looks like a nice rod indeed! I don't speak mandarin. It's the primary dialect in China. I speak the second most popular one or main one in Hong Kong, Cantonese. Many of the AliExpress products are based off the Mandarin language when they write it with english letters. Hope to take this out for a swing very soon :)
@@rawrfishing oh misunderstood lol, I know food but know there are different cultures, dialect, even food varies.. yes be nice to see in action, I finally have to replace a rod had since 8th grade? Will have spinning reel, but hear more and more about glass rods, have plenty others, don't want to get another uglystick lol, have couple. I like having them set up to go depending on where or what fishing.. spinning rod have I already replaced reel, but all eyes have been replaced and some bad shape and 4" got slammed in door lol, was more sentimental than anything. Ty tc
glass rods are definitely used for specific techniques. I think if you throw a lot of treble hook lures, the glass rod will do you really well. Doesn't do well on stuff that requires a hard hookset. I think the Ugly Stick rods are a different beast than the typical trout glass rod tho lol. people lifting chain saws and making videos with those lol

For the price, it isn't bad. Probably would been better if it came with at least 2 more guides. But we are playing with budget rods so... It's as good as we can get it lol
